Floor installation
It's been about a year now and we've had Metro Flooring Contractors return about 6 times. They can never seem to install/fix the floor completely. There is always a place that isn't cut evenly or doesn't lay flat. At one point, a few months after the original install a piece of the floor completely pulled up and broke off. After a man came to fix it, it...

Called 4/27/2022 for an estimate, young man named Trey came out same day. contract signed 4/27/2022 Installers arrived approx. 10 AM. 5/9/2022, I questioned the material that they brought and was assured (by phone, language problem) it was the same that I selected. I escaped to my bedroom so "I" would not get annoyed by the lack of communication. It is now...

Metro flooring installed new hardwood floors in my house. 5 months later noticed gaps and other issues with the floor. Called them and the first thing was being said was it must be something with what you are doing or the house and that was before they had one of their contractors come out. The tech came out and looked at the floor. Asked my wife did the installer have the floor in the house for several days before installing. She said no. They came in and ripped the old floor up and started laying the new floor as soon as they got the old one up. He stated to her oh no that is not how it was suppose to be down and that was what was causing the issue due to it was not acclimated before it was installed and took a lot of pictures of the areas. He also stated that the floor can not be repaired and has to be replaced. He then said don’t tell them that he said that because he could lose his job for that. The tech then asked my wife to sign a paper that had no info written on it and had a big blank square in it. She asked is he not going to write what he found down on the paper and he said no and that he will fill out the report later that day. She decided to write in the blank area of what the problem was and then signed it. She asked for a copy and the tech at first was not going to leave a copy. After her insisting on getting one he gave her the copy. At this time I already knew what was going on with the floors due to I had 3 other wood floor companies to come out and all 3 stated the same thing that it was not done correctly due to them not allowing the floor to acclimate and that it could not be repaired and that it has to be replaced. I asked all 3 how was that possible due to the wood was in their climate control building and they all 3 stated that once it was taken out of the building and put in their vehicle that it lost that climate control area. A few days later metro flooring called us and the lady said that the report stated that it was an on-site issue and that we had to pay for it. I refused and she transferred me to upper management. Then I was told by management that I had five dogs and I stated what does that have to do with it and he kept repeating the fact I had five dogs. The dogs are not in the section of the house where the floors are gapping and he then said oh really they are not. After arguing a bit I then stated I was not worried about the scratches because I knew with having dogs that the floor where they are at was going to be scratch up from them and I will address that issue later done the road and what did the dogs have to do with the floor gapping and other issues. I asked him did he see the pictures from the tech and he stated no they had no pics. I then stated what 3 other floor companies told me and the management then stated no that is not how it works. After arguing a little more they decided to send another one of their techs to check. He arrived and he started to look at the floor and asked my wife who was the installer. She told him the guys name and he said the one guy that has his wife working with him and she said yes. He then started to shake his head and laughed. He stated the same thing to us that their first tech stated and that it was not acclimated when it was installed and then proceeded to put coins in all the gaps and took pics until he saw my wife taking a pic of what he was doing. As soon as he saw that he stop taking pics and took the coins out. He went out and called the management team and came back and said that floor was not done right when it was installed and that he needed measurements and he to stated don’t say that I told you that because he can get fired for that. He to then wanted us to sign the paper with nothing written on it from what he found and that he would fill it out later. We refused to sign that one. A few days went and metro flooring called and what a surprise lol they stated that it was a on site issue. This time it was a lady and she stated that my a/c was off and the temperature was 64 degrees and that I needed to take out the two humidifiers out . I said my wife shut the system down a few hours ago ( I was actually cleaning the system at that time and stepped out to get some stuff) and what humidifiers. She stated that there were 2 white ones there in the pics. I laughed and told her they are not humidifiers that they were air cleaners. She said oh so they are not humidifiers like I was lying to her and I stated no they are air cleaners and have nothing to do with water, moisture or humidity. I then also asked what was the humidity level and the lady said they did not get that info. She then proceeded to tell me that the a/c must be on at all times and running and that is what caused my gaps. Which I then began to laugh due to the fact that my job is plumbing heating and a/c. I told her the system does not need to run all the time and that it does not run all the time. I explained to her what a thermostat actually does and the fact it was cold out side we don’t run the a/c in the winter time. She still insisted that the temperature must be around 70 to 72 at all times which I find funny due to the manufacturer that made the floor has it in their paper work and on their site stating 60 to 80 degrees with 30% to 55% humidity level. I then asked did she know what my temperature was in my house the day before because she was made it sound like we never had the system on and she stated no. I then asked her for the techs report and she stated they do not give the customers the reports. After that I stated that I would as also be getting a independent certified floor inspector out to do a report and after I receive his report I will take it to my lawyer and she then hunged up on me. But I will see them in court. I definitely do not recommend anyone using them and to also flood google reviews if you did and had issues with them.

Mouna from Metro Flooring came to my condo on 10.16.21. I chose vinyl and carpet. I gave my credit card information and was charged $850.00, and the contractors were scheduled to come out on 10.22.21 to install. The following Monday, I requested that Mouna return to my home because I wanted to change the carpet color and the vinyl flooring. The price had changed, and I had Mouna initial the changes, and she documented the new price on the invoice. On 10.26.21, Richard (Manager from Metro) called to inform me that the vinyl flooring I had selected was not in stock and that there would be a delay. I asked if he had the revised invoice with my new carpet color, different vinyl, and new price. He didn't have any of this information, so he contacted Mouna, who denied making the changes, according to Richard. Wow! So Richard boasted about Mouna and proposed that they send out a new salesperson, but I declined. He stated that Metro was unable to complete the installation and that he canceled the contract on October 26, 21. I still haven't received my refund. When I called several times to inquire, I was told on 11.16 and 17.2021 that they are rushing it through. My question is, in this day and age, with all this technology, why does it take up to and beyond 21 days to get a refund?

Miguel B (the manager according to him) consistently disrectfed and berated me due to the fact that I was not comfortable giving him my credit card over the phone. He threatened to cancel my order as a result. I continually asked if there was a more secure way of paying for carpet but he accused me of not wanting to pay. He also did a bait and switch when I offered to pay more than half of the down payment. He berated the salesperson who came to give me an estimate who was very professional and polite. Mr. B was not allowing me to purchase carpet in a secure way due to what seems to have been racially motivated due to his condescending attitude. He also said he was in charge and there was no one else available to address my concerns.

Significantly mismatched color for carpeting
Significantly mismatched color for carpeting. We complained/noted for the company but no action. Further background: What was agreed-upon as a two-day installation turned into six days with incorrect colors, incorrect padding (not moisture proof), locked doors while working, installers asking for tips/bribes, failure to respect the family's project director (a female), mis-delivered carpeting, being shouted at by the warehouse operations person, scratching of the baseboard, eating lunch in the master bedroom, some of the install teams deemed so subpar by their own mgmt that they had to hire a contractor from ***, the original salesperson and some of the more professional of the install teams expressed dismay at warehouse mis-deliveries, broken personal items from careless movers, failure to replace doorstops despite promises, pressured to sign off so made notes of wrong color and padding.

On Tuesday, August 10 I had a sale rep from Metro Flooring give me an estimate on all my floors. I told I wasn't ready to make a commitment yet because I had another company coming in the next day to give me a quote. The sale rep then contacted his manager and both made me an offer that was too good to pass up if I would cancel my upcoming appointment with the other company. I agreed and we signed a contract. The next day I receive a call stating they would not be able to finish all the work on the day promised. I asked when they would be able to finish and they could not give me a date. Later that same day I was put on a three way call and a person who said he was a manager got upset because I asked why they wouldn't honor the written contract and complete the work on the day as promised or why this information wasn't checked prior to them drafting the contract. He then stated he was refunding my money and ended the call. I've never had this happen before.

I signed a contract with Metro Flooring Contractors to have carpet installed in my home
I signed a contract with Metro Flooring Contractors to have carpet installed in my home. I have a lot of rooms that need carpet and we decided to do it in 3 stages. The installation was scheduled for Thursday, August 12. We moved furniture, broke down the children's beds and removed as much as possible to ensure an easy install. The installers showed up, informed us that they did not have enough carpet for the job and would have to reschedule for the next day. The next day, two different installers show up and insist that they were provided with the wrong carpet from the warehouse and would need to get the correct carpet to do the job. This now makes day 2 of waiting to put my home back together for a carpet install job. Upon speaking with Corey, an office manager, I was basically told that if I didn't think the carpet was correct, they would just refund my money. This, however, is not an option because the job has already been started and needs to be completed.

A contract between Metro Flooring Contractors and my wife and me was made on 12/17 to start on or before 12/28 and "substantially completed on or before 12/31 for a total amount of $6360.00, with a deposit of $1200.00 and the balance of $4460.00 to be paid "upon start of installation". The contract included the installation of luxury vinyl planks "*** Scandinavian Oak Pecan" from the Manufacturer "***" for the entire home (except bathrooms and the utility room) and included removing the existing tile in the kitchen and the carpeting in various rooms. The company has failed to complete the project in a professional manner and with good workmanship. Portion of our kitchen floor is uneven and squeaks when walked upon, and the stairwell has been poorly done, including a tripping risk at the top of the flight of stairs. It is now March and they are non-responsive. They have fraudulent and misleading business practices, which I can explain later.

I contacted Metro Flooring Contractors to install flooring on two levels of my house November
I contacted Metro Flooring Contractors to install flooring on two levels of my house November . The installation took place in November . My main floor was to receive vinyl flooring. About 2 months after the installation of the vinyl flooring, planks started to separate from one another. I called the company, they had to come out three different time to all agree that the flooring was in fact separating. They claimed my flooring was not level, and they would need to level the floors and redo the vinyl planks. On 7/14 the contractors came back out to redo the flooring and said my floor was extremely unlevel of a 1/2 inch. My issues is after speaking with the service manager there they said they cannot fix. I have already paid them $3000 dollars to do the installation. No mention of the floors being unlevel the first time. I am asking them to either fix or refund me the money for the vinyl flooring if they cannot install correctly. As it shouldnt have done at all.

We are seeking mediation/arbitration between *** and Metro Flooring Contractors located in Linthicum, MD
We are seeking mediation/arbitration between *** and Metro Flooring Contractors located in Linthicum, MD. Metro Flooring Sales Rep Yousef T stated to us at the time of the sale that "Metro Flooring" unlike other companies, does the installation and that our carpet was special order so that meant we could not cancel for any reason after the carpet was ordered. Yousef stated to us that we would receive a completed work order that shows the measurements for each room and it would also show the brand/labels/product ID #s for us to keep in out files. Our complaint is as follows: 1. No finished work order was provided 2. The carpet per the manufacture is not special order 3.The installation crew that came to our house consisted of an adult male and female and minor child/children. The minor child/children's labor was used during the installation. 4. The installation crew could not/did not produce a license when asked 5. We have a visible seam in one of the rooms 6. We have an abundance of carpet left over after the installation. 7. We have been given inconsistent information My calls to the company to resolve the above have resulted in inconsistent responses, example - "extra carpet is always ordered for just in case to the extra carpet was left by mistake it was for another job" to being called "ridiculous" and being hung up on. We paid in full, prior to the work being done and prior to the installer arriving because that is their "policy" we adhered to this policy, what accountability does Metro Flooring have to us?. Why can't we have the measurements and the labeling from retailer as required by the manufacturer's warranty. Why do we have the abundance of carpet left (pics attached), why was there a minor child/children on the job site and why could no one provide a license? Why was this contract labeled as "special order" when in fact it is not. Our home security video can be provided upon request.
