malware computer hacked after microsoft edge did updates on my computer automatically.
May 28, 2018 Automatic updates from Microsoft Edge. On may 29, 2018 front screen of my computer pops up malware virus must call [protected]. I could not get on internet or look at anything else. I called the number. talked to Michael Adams an Indian. He claimed he work for Microsoft sold me a product for $300.00 to clean my compute of malware virus. I had just purchased another year of Kaspersky Security on May 27th, 2018 for my Lenovo Desktop. Mr. Adams Put Kmar Alpha Technology based in USA in California. I am not a happy camper. Regarding below requested from my colleague to Microsoft Support case no. 118052318240359 with the issue of surface tablet.
The initial state of this issue was its Lan connection not working then your support team asked to remote in for checking.
After that, your support team recommend to upgrade its OS from windows 8 to windows 10.
We then let them did the upgrade to windows 10. The process of upgrading was fine.
The new issue was raised after the upgrading completed then we add our printer driver and the system force restart.
Since then, this surface cannot work because it always get black screen after we try to login.
We had to recall your support, with another lady pickup this time, and start to reinvestigate this new issue.
With my big surprise and unbelievable of how your team doing the upgrade, we lose all importance data sit inside because it cannot recover anything and the black screen issue also cannot fix. The reason is your upgrade script to windows 10 was enable 'Bit locker' and nobody know its key.
The only way that we can do is reformat the disk and reinstall windows, told by your support lady.
How could your support team do not know about the 'Bit locker' function?. They don't event provide any notice to client on the effect.
I am wonder Microsoft should take any responsive action of my user's data losing or not.

After spending over 1(one) hour with your representatives, They were not able to resolve my situation. You claim that my account was compromised and locked me out of access to it. windows 10 latest update
I have a solid state hard drive as my main drive which all essential windows functionality and games installed to it. To save space i install other programs, and games that don't require the speed, to the D drive.
After the latest update every program and game (steam) on the D drive has completely vanished from my drive. the associations and presence on the control panel exist but even when trying to uninstall them the system says they cannot be fond and just removes them from the list.
None of the deleted files were mentioned anywhere after the update, just gone off the system, even a list of deleted files or programs would have been helpful so i would at least know what had gone.
Even if i download them all again what's to stop the next update doing the same?
The update also reset numerous system settings that i had changed to suit my requirements, i guess i'm just not using windows in the 'right' way.

First time I wanted to switch to microsoft surface from laptop also I need it fast but it was my mistake I choose kogan to purchase I thought its microsoft dealer must be of quality people. I ordered approx 20th april it took approx 10days to come to me when received battery was not charging we did whatever microsoft support suggested and microsoft tools said there might be problem with surface need repair then I contacted to kogan it took approx 6-7 days to make it return when I send it took approx 7 days to reach them (kogan return no. Ra1249001) they received on 15th may and sent email with 14days return process will be done.
Please see its my small business where every cent matter and I wanted it quick now its more than 35 days I am still waiting for return money from them so that I can buy some thing reliable also from reliable store.
Is this the microsoft reliability of product?
Is this the quality of service we should expect from microsoft?
Any way I have no word also I have no option then just getting crushed with the situation.

I am using Windows 10 Build 10240 and I am constantly pestered by notifications that I need to update. I tried to turn off updates by using services.msc but I was told that it won't work because the file contains a virus or a potentially unwanted software which Windows Defender does not agree on when I run it in safe mode.

As far as I know all reports gets investigated. But one report does not really get a player banned instantly. The enforcement team still has to gather enough information before they will start an investigation to prove that these reports are real and not just players taking advantage of the report feature. It is most probably that you got reported before and all reports got piled up alerting and triggering the enforcement team to start an investigation for your account. This might have given you a wrong impression that one action got you suspended. But I assure you that one mistake is not enough to get your account suspended. Every time I make an account it wants to verify the hell out of me and the funny thing is, the information it asks for to "verify" my account was never entered in the account! I ran the updates for my computer on Wednesday (05/09/18) morning and it wouldn't start for 3 days. When I finally got it started on Saturday (05/12/18), it started up in Windows 7 Home Premium which is what I had before this last batch of updates. Not only had Windows 10 been removed but it also removed my Office 2013 programs, my documents, my pictures, and uninstalled my printer (Brother MFC-J625DW).
I don't have the money to buy new office products or a new computer. I want my laptop back to where it was before running those updates.

First, I would like to say that I have been a loyal Microsoft customer since DOS. Since the earliest IBM home computers. Period.
I have had the office 360 subscription since 2015 paying 9.99 per month. No complaints until March 2018.
In March 2018, my Microsoft Word stopped working -- I was unable to download updates and then the program itself stopped working. I could not open a new Word doc and I could not open any word docs in my file.
I made numerous calls. Various techs at various times tried to help me by trying to fix the problem on-line remotely. All efforts failed. This process took multiple days, multiple calls and hours. This was going on for weeks.
In the meantime I had no word processor and couldn't perform my work. Had to borrow a computer to write for work. Also in the meantime Microsoft was charging me the monthly fee. I requested that they not charge me in March because I did not have 360 working for the entire month. Was told they could not do that. I am complaining to my credit card company now to dispute this charge.
In the end---yesterday April 24, 2018, I told them to cancel the subscription. Even that phone call was difficult, had to speak to various "customer service reps". The last tech I spoke to, wanted to try to re-install 360 again. Frustrated, I agreed to try because I didn't want to waste all the money I've spent over a 3 year period with this subscription. And again I wasted my time working with him and the installation failed again. He wanted me to work with another tech and I finally said no. Just cancel the subscription. This call lasted over 2 hours. And he told me that he could not refund my March charge of $9.99 ---even though I did not have 360 working in March.
The problem with the 360 subscription is you pay for something you don't own. There are no discs. So now I have paid about $360 for something ($9.99 per month for 3 years) and I have nothing to show for it. They won't even refund the $9.99 for the month of March when I had no 360 working.
This may sound unreasonable, but I believe Microsoft owes me something for my trouble, for the inconvenience in March having no word processor and the many hours spent on the phone in failed attempts to fix the problem and the amount of aggravation I experienced. Even writing this letter is taking my time --- just trying to advocate for myself when it could have been taken care of with a simple refund, or partial refund or something just to show good faith.
Perhaps a partial refund of the entire amount I have spent over the 3 year period ---approximately $360 as a good faith gesture, because I paid this money and I have nothing to show for it. Some gesture would be appreciated.

On 4/11/2018 I went to the Microsoft Store in The Woodlands to resolve an issue I was having with my Surface being responsive to touch. They determined that it did have a hardware malfunction and that since I was still under my warranty I could get a replacement but that first the malfunctioning device would have to be sent to the warehouse before they could send me a replacement since they did not have the same Surface available in the store. The Microsoft Store in The Woodlands shipped the device back to the warehouse.
I received an email that afternoon indicating that a service order had been created. On 4/17/2018 I received an email that the service order was being processed at 11.49 AM CST and then another email at 12:17 PM CST that the package had been delivered. On 4/20/2018 at 1.44 AM CST I received two emails one stating that the replacement device has been delivered and the other that order was complete. I checked and their was not a package at the door or in the mailbox. All the while I was never provided with a tracking number or who the carrier was.
I contacted Microsoft Support and after being on hold for 34 minutes at which point I had to run into a meeting I asked if I could schedule a time for Microsoft to call me back. I was told that Microsoft would call me back at 1:00 PM CST. I was never called. I called Support Services again and after being on hold for 15 minutes I was able to speak with an operator.
I explained the situation and that I was trying to figure out where the Surface was. I have the full phone conversation recorded and can provide but essentially I was told that they can not help me since the Service Order was initiated at the physical store and that I would have to return to the store to file a complaint or find out where the Surface was.
In addition to this, I was also told the following items (which again I have recordings of).
1) The Surface devices are only designed to last a year similar to a phone.
2) Microsoft is huge, this comment was made after I asked to be transferred to a complaints department to complain that the online support said they could not help since the service order was made at the store.

We have developed a program and hardware that county board rooms use to vote on items with a yes or no. We have been using windows 7 computers with the ability to turn off all automatic updates and has been working flawlessly. We have migrated to windows 10 home versions which do not have the ability to turn off automatic updates. The problem is the computer decides to update at an undesirable time which usually slows the computer down when 30 or more people are trying to vote. 30 people can get angry. I have the Sculpt ergonomic keyboard surface edition (#1559) and I have lost the usb fob for it. When I called about it and asked to speak to a supervisor after scripted answers, I was told "He won't be in until tomorrow" Calling the next day I was told "He's in a meeting" so I called back a third time to be told "He is out for a long lunch" I have trouble believing that a company as large as you has only one supervisor and that he is always gone or busy. This seems to indicate that you do not care about the end user consumer.
I first spoke to vivek anand and he did this malware cookie check (which I didn't ask for). once he found out that I had no service agreement for my computer (which I never needed). he transferred me to the supervisor an [censored] by the name of manish ahuya or ahiya. he then (based on the security check which tied up my computer and business phone for almost 30 mins) tried to sell me a service agreement, for $249 for two yrs or $149 for one yr or $79 for 1 week! something I didn't ask for in the initial call. I only wanted to have my new service activation no. transferred over to my old account so that I could use those files. after an hour on the phone with these [censored], he says he couldn't help me and hung up the phone. never addressing the reason I called. he actually lied and said that I wouldn't be able to run windows office without the service contract. thank god I read my service agreement and knew that it included the support.
Not only was my service issue not paid attention to, but they wasted an hour of my time. I cursed them like the stole something from me (which they deserved and tried to do). I was very disgusted!
Then I spoke to (an american) kim rollon (no. ceb_kirol). she was very understanding, making sure that she listened carefully to me despite the fact that I was agitated and very upset. she addressed the issue, apologizing for what I went through (with those [censored] from india) and before I knew it the files were merged and I was able to get done what I had first intended almost 2 hours before. I would like to commend this young lady because, without her I would have canceled the membership (you guys have too much competition with free sites that do pretty much the same things) and posted my experience on your customer reviews (which I will probably do anyway) but also to everyone I know on the internet (facebook and all of my business contacts). she was outstanding!
I would also like to say that i've run phone rooms for at&t and verizon services and understand the importance of sticking to a script. it is appalling that a company as well regarded as microsoft would align themselves with such a rag tag outfit as those guys from india! scandolous!
Finally, I called the corporate office on fri. (because kim followed up with me and gave me the no. to formally make my complaint) and was on hold for 30 minutes before I hung up. how does microsoft allow this type of pisspoor service?

On the 17dec 2017 I entered my credit card details into my sons Xbox to purchase $100 credit for part Xmas present. Once purchased I removed my details from Xbox so no further transactions could be made. Over the next 8 weeks numerous charges were made to my credit card by my son entering a promo code to get games for free, but they weren't free, they were charged to my deleted credit card without my authority the amount of these unauthorised charges adds up to the amount of $1039. My bank was contacted and refunded the money to me, and then 3 weeks later Microsoft disputed the charges and re charged my deleted credit card again without my authority! I have been in contact via phone and online with numerous consultants to be told every time they money would be refunded please can someone advise me on how to proceed this is slot of money that I can't afford to lose
