Microsoft windows 10 updates are very annoying.

When notified of windows 10 updates, I wait until I am finished with a work session and do not plan too use whichever of my involved personal or work Windows 10 computers (Azus, Dell and HP). I either activate the update by choosing update and restart or update and shut down, or I have scheduled it for an update that same evening.

I recall that this used to work well, i.e. upon restarting I'd get a polite message that the updates are installed with an opportunity to review them, but only if I wished to do so.

However, now when I restart it many hours after the update in installed it say's "Hi, we have some updates for you" and I am blocked from working, often for well over 15 minutes and occasionally even for hours.

This is completely unacceptable and ridiculous at face value! And of course you will just badger me and even literally box me into activating the updates when I inevitably have to shut it down. It seems you are obsessed with bullying us Windows users into accepting your own self importance. What other possible explanation is there for this belligerent passive aggressive behavior?

Please fix this divisive, unnecessary and annoying practice.

Microsoft inability to obtain support

I have a HP laptop (Z1E09PA) running Windows 10 purchased 11 months ago. Yesterday I noticed it did not go into sleep mode after 20 minutes as usual . I checked settings and found that it was set to go into sleep mode after 2o minutes . Today I had a chat session with an HP technician who took remote control of my laptop and after about 20 minutes he said that the problem started after the last Windows 10 update . He tried installing a chipset (what ever that is) and changed some settings but that did not work. He also thought there might be something wrong with my Microsoft account and suggested I use the Microsoft chat service to sort it out .I have used the chat service before without resolution of a previous problem .
I am attaching an email sent to [protected]@microsoft.com on the 20/9/17 .I have not had a reply . Attached is also a copy of a letter I sent to Microsoft Pty.Ltd PO Box 91 North Ryde NSW 1670. I have not had a reply to this let. I was considering putting this matter in the hands of the NSW Ombudsman but decided I would send you an official complaint

Microsoft outlook mail

My outlook mail used to work well. Now it rarely works at all, what did you do to it? I cant fully connect to it. I cant read my emails and I cant send them. It keeps saying retry and that never works either. I tried the beta and that doesn't work any better. What the hell did you do to outlook mail? Or are you just screwing with my email? Like I read about in the independent news these days. My email hasn't worked right for 2 months now, you need to fix this now. I'm getting ready to write letters and contact my congressmen etc.

Microsoft windows 10

I have a small 32 Gigabyte HP computer and the only program on it is Windows. In three months the hard drive is full and I am sure that it is all of the update crap you put into this computer. I am running a Disk Clean to try to free up space but it takes a couple of hours to run and I do not want to do this every three months. I have another "Chrome Book" with a similar issue. Does anyone realize that more and more people use these? Filling it with your bloat is counter productive. Help

Microsoft surface pro

I recently purchased a surface pro and spent a lot of money for a supposedly superior product with great support.

After spending a whole very frustrating afternoon trying to fix problems with online support (with glitches), I was advised my replacement surface would be with me today. I hadn't heard anything - so after me enquiring again - I was advised yesterday that it wouldn't be with me and no date given, just that its been escalated!

This is my main device to run my own business - and microsoft is messing me around.

At this stage I wish I had gone with another product, instead of having to deal with a company that is not keeping its promises.

Microsoft unjust customer service

I was in the San Francisco store this evening 9/23/2017, at around 5 to 6pm. I brought in a surface book that I bought 2 weeks ago because it was defective. I called around and no stores have the 512gb surface book with performance base in stock. It is not even available online as well.

I had to upgrade to the 1tb and needing to pay $500 extra due to the 512gb not available. I did not really want to pay the $500 extra, but that was the onLy option in any stores.

I spoke to a sales person wanting an exchange for 512 to 1tb. The sales person consulted with the manager and the manager wanted to know what I wanted to do. I informed her I wanted to refund my current credit card and purchase the new 1tb on a different credit card.

The first thing she said to me was that she cannot do that for me. It sounds very “fishy” of what you are doing. Because of your history of buying and returning, I need to inform and request consultation with the “Lost Prevention” in front of many customers. I was insulted and embarrassed and appalled! The entire store was very quiet and listening to our conversation. The store was full of customers and employees, the store was dead quiet when she was accusing me of criminal behavior. I cannot tell you how embarrassing and humiliating That was for me. She slandered my reputation. It is completely unacceptable for an employee to treat any customer this way. That is why employee at that store looks at me weird and mean.

My response to her, was “your policy is return within 30 days” and I always follow your policy. If you do not want people to buy and return your products, put that in your policy.

After she said it was “fishy”, I told her to refund me my entire purchase and do not sell it to me. She insist that I buy it.
The employee “Marisa” stated that she understood what I wanted to do and it was not a problem.

Not only is this situation mortifying to me and it does not make any sense. If the manager thought I was swindling Microsoft then why would she insist I purchase the 1tb and leave the store with it after she called me a “theft”?

There are no words to express how embarrassing this was for me. So please picture yourself returning a shirt at Macy’s and the store manager accuses of you that you are a theft in front of a store full of customers? How would you feel?

This is not the first time she is rude to me, I do not know what issues she has with me but I should be able to feel comfortable shopping at the San Francisco store. Is she discriminating against me because I am Chinese? Her name is Mariel. It seems like all the managers in that store has a hostile attitude towards me.

If the managers do not want me to shop at that store, let me know in writing please. I have never encounter such hostility at anywhere! It is completely unacceptable. As You know, this is not the first time I complaint about that store. But I am still receiving the same hostility. I choose to drive to Palo Alto or San Jose most of the time.

Please look into this of why “Mariel” and the other managers at that store treats me this way.

I am also Upset that I have to pay $500 extra for the 1tb because the 512gb was not available at all and I needed a computer.

If you decide it is too much trouble for me to shop at the closest Microsoft store then I would like a full refund of everything I purchase at Microsoft. I have warranties for my computers.
There is no restrictions on your return policy, so why would the San Francisco store have so much issue with me?

Microsoft office 2016 for mac

I just purchased a used Imac restored to factory settings. I also purchased Microsoft Office thru my company home use. This was a download. Tried to download and install. New to Apple I was having difficulty. I received a call from Microsoft Support asking if they could help. I agreed and allowed them to access my computer over the internet. First these were not people who spoke English well. Next after going thru the process the tech said I had issues with the computer, one being security issues. After a big explanation of what he could do for me if I agreed for him to help.
This is when I found out the minimum charge would be $149. Told the tech I was not prepared to do that then and this ended the conversation. I started looking into what might have happened, only to find out that it had not completed the download therefore would not install. Since it was not installed it did not activate. Downloaded the program making sure I let it completely download then installed. Once installed I was able to activate. It seems like I was scammed to try and let them charge me $149 to fix something that wasn't broke.

Microsoft windows 10 automatic update

I came back to my computer after about 3 hours to find it frozen - blank dark grey screen. HDD light flashing, no response from the mouse or the keyboard. So, press the reset button. It was only after the restart that I was informed that the Automatic Update was in progress. After a 15 minute or so wait, I was able to log in. Then I find that the second hard drive is not visible. One of the partitions on it has most of the programs I use, the other partition has all my data. Fortunately I had Chrome on my boot drive and was able to search for an answer, which was to disconnect the hard drive and reconnect. This worked. But now I find that my data drive has had its drive letter changed. That should have been easy to fix, but for some reason the old drive letter was not available. Finally, after 2 and half hours of using regedit (which didn't work). I realised that the DVD drive was not visible. That's what was using the drive letter I wanted. So, disconnect the DVD drive, login, change the drive letter, power down, reconnect the DVD drive, login and everything is back to normal. It should not have happened. Now I'm searching for how to turn off the automatic update "feature".

Microsoft service # [protected] - product arrived damaged

On aug 25th my daughter surface pro 3 shutdown consistently from over heating. This is not the first time as microsoft replace the surface a year back and still having the issues.

Went to online and try to troubleshoot and it was suggested that I ship the product back for repair.

Microsoft generated a fedex bill. We backed up the sufrace, even made an image from acronis trus image, then reset the machine to factory default.

We packed the surface with bubble wrap and shipped it out.

For the next 7 days we checked the status and followed the progress from received - repair and ship back.

When we got the surface back 10 days later - it was not repair and has a small hone to the top right screen and with a note the the surface was intentionally damage and it will not be repaired.

This is totally not true.

There is no number to called and after spending 30 minutes searching on the web, we found a number and called. The technician said we broke it and it is on me to prove that the surface is in good condition. I asked why no one called me - his answered microsoft got many products shipped to them daily and if they call everyone, they will have no time to do other things. The technician want me to prove that it was in good physical conditions. And he will not give me a number to talk to someone else as he put it they do not have any numbers to give out.

After spending an hour on the phone back and forth - he finally connect to his supervisor.
He asked me to send in the picture. I send in the picture via email to them.

I asked for the pictures or proof from service center and did not get any.

I not deep in my heart it was shipped out in good physical condition and getting told it is my fault get me very mad and frustrated and yest no one seems to listen.

I called 3 times after that and each time they said it is under investigation and it is up to me to prove.

And the technician then said I should file a claim with fedex - the fedex billed is from microsoft and microsoft should be the one who need to help me file if it was damaged there.

I honestly have no idea if it as damaged at the service center or during shipping but I do not it was shipped in good physical condition. I can swear to any bible if you want me to.

This surface cost me $1500 for my daughter to use at college and now I am facing the challenge of having to forked out another $1500 for a new laptop.

I need help...

Microsoft I was restricted from microsoft store after I filled a bad survey for training class

September 01, 2017.
Dear Sir,
In July, I replaced my “Surface Book” in Prudential Center, Cambridge, MA. After returned home in Scottsdale, AZ I went to the Fashion Square, Scottsdale, AZ to take some classes. It went well the first few until I took one with instructor ARPIL. The manager at duty replaced her with another instructor and answered all my Excel questions.
Later, I received a review/survey email and I filled out with my comments and recommendations for improvements. Today, I walked by the store to browse and the new manager by the name “Bridget Thurn” told me that I am restricted and not getting any services ! I asked for “restriction” paperwork for me, she told me NONE ? She told me if I do not leave, she will call the police and the police record will be my paperwork for restrictions ? This is How Microsoft customer should be treated ?
In my review comments, I also mentioned that I am available for Microsoft management to call me to get all the details and for me to provide specific answers. I know it is impossible to wrote everything down on paper.
Someone needs to look into my review comments and see IF it is me, the customer problems ? Or, my comments are all reasonable and there are room for improvement in that location ? For example, in my reviews, I mentioned that another customer student before the class started complaint to me that the instructor was no good in the other Outlook class ? I tried to defend Microsoft by telling him the instructors are not experts but there to provide Introductions to the topics etc. Please read by reviews and see if I am prejudgment against the people there ?
I had a Word training class and did not have problems etc. I mentioned that in my review comments.
My requests:
(1) Investigate the abusive to me as customer after filling out a bad review after the class ? I first got my Asus 17 inches in 2010, I think, I was there many time since I live close to the Microsoft store. I sincerely hope someone will call me and get the story from me too ? Are there any improvements needed for that location ? Like I said in my review, the folks at MicroSoft Store in the Prudential center, MA were all great to replace my Surface Book with battery problems etc.
(2) Since I have 2 year warranty, where do I go now when my Surface Book needs repair ?
My phone: [protected]
My email: [protected]@hotmail.com
Please read my review comments, the day after the Excel class. I filled it out online. I need a 3rd party or neutral party need to read my review comments and compare / listen to the employees at that location. I believe my Expectations are very reasonable as I stated in the review comments. Let there be justice !
Since I live in Scottsdale, I drop in and out that Microsoft store location, Scottsdale Fashion Square hundre3ds of times and never have problems with any employees. This is ever since its Grand Opening around 2010. Thanks for your investigation in this matter and God bless ! Hope to hear from you 😊

Microsoft xbox live

Spent over 10 hours trying to fix an issue with my account over 2 days. The account was chocking my speeds. A different account on the same console had no issues. But during there " troubleshooting" I lost all my content on the console. And they where still insisting it wasn't my account. They where saying it was the connection however the other profile had no issue and every other device was connecting fine. It's at the point I'm giving up on the console and I'm feeling very betrayed. Was loyal to it since day one, and this is how I was treated

Microsoft outlook / bad spam filter

So much junk not getting filtered. Why in the world your spam filter actually exists? It doesn't work at all.
And please help me turn off those new popups in the corner of the screen. They are very annoying because it's usually spam.
In other words, outlook is uncomfortable, irritating and has a bad design. I will soon switch to Gmail, it's much better.

Microsoft xbox one repair

A Few days back I had given my Xbox one for repair since it was not turning back on at all. I sent it to Microsoft for repair and after spending close to a month on it. They sent it back to me claiming it was repaired and passed all their checks. The console now did turn on but it does not detect any game or DVD. This is beyond annoying having to pay for repairs and they break a different feature and send the console back. The service order number is [protected].

Microsoft awful

Outlook is the slowest on earth. I don't even like the way it looks.
I was recently cleaning my inbox from old letters, but then a mistake happened and all needed and important emails were deleted. I thought they were in deleted and didn't found lots of them. I called customer support asking them for a fast recovery, but they didn't help. I am not surprised.
I will change your service to another one, I'm tired of your awful outlook.

We had to turn to Outlook and I didn't like it at the first sight.
I don't like the way my account looks.
Your system is very slow and not really efficient. I often see an error on my page while loading it. These emails are important to me and I just have to wait. It doesn't work when I use it on my different devices. I wish I could choose what to use and switch back to Hotmail...

Microsoft microsoft rewards

For business, I do research online. I thought Microsoft rewards would be a good way to earn business related materials or prizes while working. It has been a nightmare. My points have vanished from my account by the thousands. Some points didn't add on at all, often you can't reach Microsoft for days on end.
After three phone calls and about 12 emails, they insisted I somehow catch the problem, give them a recording of the actual problem (s) occurring and give them diagnostics of each of my new computers. As I said, my computers are new. I knew they couldn't be the problem. Also, I felt diagnostics and recordings violated my privacy. So,  I asked what would happen to the information I provided. Microsoft refused to tell me their evaluation process or what they use the info for. It took several emails before they promised to only use the information to help me with my claim.
On a video recording, I caught the points disappearing and not adding up.  After I documented the troubles occurring, through their chosen method,  Microsoft refused to admit there was a problem! They gave me a tiny percentage of the thousands of points they owed me, saying they only did this as a courtesy?! So, I did an internet search. It seems their system is plagued by disappearing points and other troubles. Worse yet, Microsoft knows there's a problem but refuses to acknowledge it. To me, this means you're running a scam on unsuspecting and hopeful people.  Everyone affected by this should contact the Better Business Bureau and refuse to do business with Microsoft. We should blitz social media with information on this scam. Other people need to know before they invest their time and effort.
