SCAM! Advertising used units as new
Run, do not walk. They are advertising Loewe CRT televisions as "brand new" on Ebay and on their website. New-old-stock CRTs are hard to find, which made it very appealing. After a very long and drawn out sales process where no suitable order confirmation or invoice documentation was ever sent, they eventually shipped a unit that was USED. I was able to prove that it was used for nearly 10,000 hours (I suspect as a floor/display model) before being carefully put back in a box and stored for a decade. When I contacted them about a partial refund, they refused. Save your money, save your time.
Recommendation: Run.
I was provided with a refund that I had originally requested.

60"samsung tv
Wish i read the reviews on Modia before ordering a 60"Samsung tv from them on Amazon...reviews on this company are less than desirable. I ordered the T.V on 12/18, received an email that item was shipped out on the 19th, then received a phone call on the 21st telling me they were sorry the item has been damaged and they will have to cancel my order and refund my money. THIS is not acceptable nor do I believe what they are saying after reading these other reviews. I will report this to all necessary agencies and make sure I post my experience on every site I can so others to not make the same mistake. Shame on Amazon for allowing such a unreputable company sell on their site.
Modia needs to honor the item purchased and send me out another tv when back in stock.
Fraud and scam artists
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY ARE LIARS, CHEATS, SCAMMERS, and anything else you can come up with.
Modia is a fraud and a scam. It's funny how these pages only show positive reviews. Let me tell you my story. On 11/28/10 I ordered a Samsung Led TV $400 cheaper than anyone. I took advantage of GEBank 36 mo. no interest financing and was approved the same day. The online ordering was fast enough. Then nightmare started. It was 12/15 and I still had no TV. Numerous calls resolved nothing. All the reps had the same story about how they didn't have the information and would have a manage call back. Nobody called back. I asked if they were on back order and they said no. They had the stock to deliver. Yet, I couldn't get them to commit to shipping my TV. They told me they had to wait for bank approval, then they wanted me to send a scan of my license, then they wanted me to sign a charge slip. On and on it went. They lied through their teeth. Meanwhile, I receive a bank statement showing that they charged my credit card on 11/28 -- the same day I placed the order. I needed to make the first payment in December and I didn't have a TV. I called the idiots at Modia and let them have it. They offered the same old excuses "I don't have that information, I'll have to check". In the process of reaching GEBank to complain, I found out that these scammers had already charged my credit card a second time on 12/8. Now I owed $2, 450.68 and no TV. I started a campaign of complaints to the Texas Attorney General, IC3 (a cyber crime investigation unit of the FBI), the Houston Better Business Bureau, Houston Police, and online complaints. All this noise got their attention. Then they responded. On 12/15 Modia's shipping clerk called me to say that the TV was ready to ship. He was shocked when I told him to keep it. Who would accept their TV after all this? I'm not done complaining. All the brands they carry will be getting my written complaint. They will have to stop their chicanery or they'll go out of business.
They played you to get you to withdraw your complaint with Amazon. It went from a valid complaint about "non performance" to merely an "accident" resolved by giving you a refund. That's how these scammers save themselves. Never accept a resolution that includes a promise to ship. Insist on a refund and keep your complaint active. If you use a credit card call your bank and file a fraud complaint. Do not let these bad people off the hook.
STAY AWAY FROM MODIA HOME THEATER. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. After 13 days, they have charged my credit card twice and NO TV! After posting my original complaint about Modia charging my credit card and not sending the TV I ordered, I called GEBank to cancel the account. During that process, I found out that Modia had charged the account again for a TV they have yet to ship. I called Modia today, and some clown named Ricky, told me the TV is not ready to ship -- imagine, it's now 13 days since they first charged my account on 11/28 and again on 12/8. I'm going to file complaint with Texas Attorney General.
Do not buy from this dishonest seller. I tried to buy a samsung 4k tv from them through amazon.com and it was a complete nightmare. I placed the order and Someone from Modia called me and said that the listing was a mistake because they no longer had the tv in stock. They said i had to cancel the order in order to receive a refund. I thought that was weird so i started an inquiry into it through amazon a-z guarantee. When i did that i received several calls from modia daily asking me to withdraw my amazon claim. The claim was apparently hurting their amazon seller rating pretty dramatically. When i would not agree they told me that they somehow found the tv i wanted at another location and that theyd ship it to me immediately. At this point i thought everything had been worked out and i withdrew my claim once i received a shipment confirmation email. They next day modia called me and said that the tv was completely damaged during shipping and since they did not have any more of that tv model they had no choice but to refund my money. I cant prove theyre lying but the situation seems sketchy at best. So buyer beware when shopping at and dealing with modia.
Scammers?
On 11/28/10 I ordered a samsung 40" tv from Modia Home Theater. Since then, now 12 days, my emails go unanswered. I have made multiple calls and the people I speak with are hard to understand and their reasons for not shipping vary from person to person. Every questions I pose is met with "I'll have to check on that", "I'll get back to you" and then, nobody follows up. I call to follow-up and essentially I have to start over. Their chat line goes unanswered. They can't tell me what the status of the order is. I have dealt with Jason and Milhondra. All I get is excuses.
They sold the TV for $1, 197 plus $25+- for shipping. I took their offer for 36 months to pay with no interest. I have come to suspect that the real problem with this order is that they sold the tv too cheap to absorb the cost of 0% interest financing. To test this hypothesis, I offered to forget about the no interest financing and use my credit card instead. They offered to ship the tv immediately. The obvious question then, was; so why can't you ship the tv now with the 0% financing? They told me that they needed certain paperwork from the bank to release the tv. I told them I already had the "credit" card with their name on it as issued by GEBank and all that's necessary is for them to charge it. Well, the excuse shifted to "I need you to sign the charge slip". I argued some more with no upside. The next day, Hitesh sent me an email with the purported charge slip and asking for a scan of my driver's license. That was spooky. Funny thing was, the charge slip had nothing to do with me. The name on it was for Nicole XXXX, the account number was different and the order number was not mine. I have sent several emails about this and neither Hitesh or anyone else responded. SCAM?
For all I know, this could be a very legitimate business. However, based on the way its employees act it conjures up serious questions about the legitimacy of this organization. Based on my experience thus far over these soon to be 13 days, it seems to me that Modia Home Theater is either a very well organized scam operation or its owner and chief executive, Mihir Mody, hasn't a clue about managing anything.
I plan to file a formal complaint with the Texan authorities for Modia's suspicious activities and will advise GEBank about the shenanigans being perpetrated on its customers.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MODIA HOME THEATER TO ANYONE. THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY AND MANAGEMENT IS WEAK AT BEST.

dis-honest sales and false advertisement
Modia ran an ad of Sony 52' LED TV in local newspaper (Dallas morning news, Black Friday) for $1199.00. I came in to the store very early on Friday (the store opened on 7am), and paid in full ($1199 plus tax, I have the receipt). The store told me to come back after 4pm to pick up the TV. However, on 2pm, the store called me and informed me that they don't have the TV, instead, they offered me a different model but costs $200 more. I had their ad, and I came in very early in the morning and waited in the line for a long time, and paid in full for the TV already. How could they charged me in full for a TV that later on they claimed doesn't exist? This is dis-honest sales, and false advertisement.
