Moxie Pest Control - Avoid this company
We contracted with Moxie because we have a wasp problem, and my wife is deathly allergic to wasps. They came out and treated our area 3 times, and we still have a wasp problem. We cancelled the service and we were charged an early cancellation charge of over $600.00. Why are we being charged when they failed to get rid of the wasps. They are not fulfilling...

The amount of time this company solicits is completely unreasonable. They have come to my door 2-3 times/year, despite my telling them repeatedly that I am very happy with the service I’ve had for a decade. They are always pushy, always try to make the conversation last longer, and always question why I’m not giving them a chance. Tonight, though, they...

They wanted me to switch to their company. They told me after I provided all the information and gave my credit card information, I was under a contract. Who does that? That's something you should say first. They told me they could deal with the Chiggers, that was a lie. Now I have to have service with them for a year. I learned my lesson, but I do regret it. Now I even got ants in my house. What can they do for me? NOTHING!
Desired outcome: Get out of the contract without paying to get out. Get with a better company
Pest control
Moxie Pest Control salesman "SPENSER" came to my home doing door to door sales pitches. He wowed my wife & I with a deal offering pest control of the entire perimeter of our home frpom front curb to the entire back yard for the low price of $39 plus tax, then follow up treatments for only $139 every quarter, cancel anytime no questions asked. However, you had to pay the initial $39 up front along with your signature for the initial $39.00 treatment before you could recieve an email detailing a 5 TREATMENT CONTRACT along with your signature agreeing to such. A contract wsa never discussed nor was a cancellation fee of 80% of the reamaining contract upon cancellation. It was a disaster from the beginning, a tech should up at my home, sprayed water seemed like straight water only in the front. He claimed my back gate was lockked so he would make an appointment to come back to complete the job. HE NOR MOXIE EVER CALLED to complete such. I called a few times over a week in a half only for no one to ever answer. I left numerous voicemails only for no one ever returning my calls. I finally got through one early morning @ 7 am and was responded to in a very hostile, belligerent and aggressive manner. d that I agreed to the full terms with my (duped) signature. I requested to cancel and was told my card on file I would be billed $481.00 if I did. While trying tom explain that I unknowingly signed a trickery cintract, I was alerted by my bank that a transaction of $481.50 was made to my bank account. When I asked about the transaction, they woman hung up on me
Desired outcome: FULL REFUNF OF $534.51

I feel like I was cheated out of a couple of hundred dollars with this company. I am not sure if they even applied any bug spray or treatment. All I got was an invoice. I did not really have a bug problem before the service but thought it would be a good idea to manage mosquitos during summer. After they sprayed I noticed more bugs in my house, specifically little red bugs I found in plastic ware that I never had a problem with since living here over the past 3 years. Anyway, I canceled the service and I still had to pay another 300 plus dollars. if your service is good you don't have to knock on people's doors claiming you are providing them with a useful service and
a discount. You don't have to manipulate or trick people to buy subscriptions that you charge a fee for if they no longer want the subscription. That's greedy, shady business practices. But I guess you don't care you got my hard-earned money for free.
Desired outcome: My Money bac

Cancelled Service
My name is [edited] at[edited]. I agreed for a spraying for $99 in August 2022. There were bugs still around. I called for a respray which I was told I could do and cancelled shortly thereafter, which was all done in less than one month. I get a bill today for $139, but I've already cancelled service. I call the company and am told I had to call back within a week or else I'd be charged for a three-month billing cycle. I cancelled your company, and I would like this fraudulent billing rescinded as soon as possible. You really give your company a bad name by trying to get money from customer's when they have cancelled for additional spraying.
Desired outcome: I cancelled your company, and I would like this fraudulent billing rescinded as soon as possible.
Moxie Pest Control
A representative from Moxie Pest Control came to my door and sold me a $99 fee to have him spray for bugs around my house and in my garage. Now this company is claiming I signed an agreement, which I did not, for a quarterly service and are trying to charge me $180.00 for a treatment that I DID NOT sign up for, again I DID NOT sign an agreement. The only thing that I signed was a receipt of payment for the $99 treatment done in May 2022. Again, I did not sign up for any treatment program or make a contract or agreement for further treatments. My husband has called and tried to explain his to the Moxie rep on the phone and they were only interested in arguing and saying the bill would go to collections. I will not be paying any bills from this fraudulent company. It is fraud plain and simple!
Desired outcome: cancel any fraudulent amount due they have on my fraudulent account they set up for me fraudulently
Initial Service Complaint
On 8/11/22 Moxie Pest Control did an initial service at my residence which was nothing close to the description provided by the technician (full yard coverage and dusting of the eaves around the house and porch areas). I had to leave my residence for a short period and when I returned, I checked to see if the service had been accomplished. To my dissatisfaction, the technician had only sprinkled product on one side of the house in areas where it would be noticed. No product was present in the yard and there was no evidence of the technician dusting under the eaves or around the porch. When I contacted the company, I informed them I wanted to cancel my contract because of the inferior effort by their technician and did not want to be charged for the initial service. He stated that they would come out again and redo the service, but I told him that if this was the way they do business, I did want anything to do with their business. On 8/19/22, I was charged $99.00 for the initial service. After talking to a supervisor, he told me that he would on refund me $40.00 even though the service was not done to my satisfaction. I informed him that this was not good business and he said "take it or leave it". If you are thinking about hiring MOXIE, think twice as I feel they do not stand behind their service.
Desired outcome: Full refund of the $99.00 initial service fee.
Respect no soliciting signs, stop slandering other companies, learn that no means no.
We have had several employees knock on our door, ignoring the no soliciting sign, in the last few weeks. Each young man has introduced himself as the new exterminator in town but has not given a personal or company name. (We love our current exterminator and our family has used them for over 30 years so we won’t be changing.)
Yesterday, yet another one of your employees stopped by (same color/style shirt and shorts as the others) on his Segway which he laid down on our new grass. He was very cocky and was “mansplainging”
though I am probably old enough to be his mother. He took every opportunity to tell my husband and I why he is “better than” the exterminator we already have (which is a horrible business tactic) which was completely unfounded. He was going to give us a “discount” after which we would still be paying much more than we already pay. After I repeated for the 2nd or 3rd time that we would not be changing services (in a not so patient tone) he finally left.
I told my husband this was not the 1st person from this company to come by. My husband went to ask for a name and business card so we can make our exterminator aware of the slanderous vitriol that is being used. He tried to get my husband to provide his cell number so he could text us the website link and that he did not have a business card. I have attached his picture.
Aggressive sales, product inferior, pricing and bait and switch
Salesman came to the door around 7pm, ignored my No Soliciting sign next to my door bell. Man became very pushy and borderline aggressive after I told him I have a company I currently use. He continued and said he would cut a deal to show me their products and services are superior. They came out a few days later to do the first application which included cleaning the eaves, spraying 3 feet up and out from the house, spray the yard and sprinkle granules. They were there 30 minutes maximum. Bug activity increased but nothing was dead. A month later, my house and yard are infested with gnats. They want to come out for the second treatment this week and also want to send a termite inspector that I did not ask for. Canceled service today and they charge me an early cancellation fee for not continuing their overpriced diluted chemicals. This is a company that can get away with not doing the job and charging more money to cancel, I wish to get some money back.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MOXIE PEST CONTROL!
Desired outcome: Refund my money for deceiving customers and not doing the right things
Refund of $139.00 for unanticipated service and cancel service with company
I called the company for a quote to service my home, I was advised of a $139.00 quarterly service. I signed up for that. 1 month after the first service I was charged another $139.00 for the "quarterly" service. A week later I was scheduled for their termite service (that I did not ask for). Upon this happening, I canceled my service. I was advised I would be charged an early termination fee for canceling services. This is bait and switch and an unethical practice to put customers through. How is a company allowed to lie to you an d then legally take your money when they have not done what they said? Please help this consumer...
Rude, pushy and insensitive salesman going door-to-door
"Salesmen" for Moxie have flooded our neighborhood ... nothing wrong about a sales pitch. But, to overlook an overt "NO Soliciting" sign below our doorbell ... even ignoring said sign when I pointed it out. Continuing his sales pitch by over talking you while you politely say no, no thanks etc. Finally forcing homeowner to become confrontational in...

Moxie Pest Control promises you that if you sign the one year contract they can eliminate your insect problems. You do not get to see if it works before committing. We signed up, taking them at their word. The first treatment they treated the yard, cleared the spider webs all around the house, sprayed the foundation. They came back one month later and did not do the yard, sprayed the foundation, cleared the spider webs around the front door only. We were still overtaken with sugar ants and we keep a very clean house so that was not the problem. The next time they treated they didn't do much of anything because they were gone in 10 minutes tops. Did not do the yard, only cleaned webs at the front door. The ants were worst every time they came. I finally went to Lowes and bought Home Defense and got rid of the ants and the water bugs in the garage as well (which they never did). They annoy you to no end to schedule a visit as well calling and texting multiple times. Their service doesn't work. Save yourself some money and get the stuff at Lowes and do it yourself.
pest control
Signed up for service under the understanding that initial payment would be $119 for initial spray, another spray would come 30 days later, which would be no payment due and be outside only. Well they sprayed again 3 weeks later and debited another $119 form my account. Wasn't supposed to have another payment due until my quarterly spray. They sell you on one thing and bill you for another.

False contract misrepresented 3 month cancellation, called customer to stop service they did the service anyway complained again they told us we had to complete contractthere was nothing we could do about it filed a complaint with bbb of utah and utah consumer protection agency.talked with owner john who said he was willing to anull contract and svc bill if I retracted my complaint to bbb utah I said i would when i had letter from him absolving and removal of contract obligation instead he sent me a bill for $90.00 service fee and $300.00 to end contract. He lied to me and I feel they should be fined and placed on probation and we should be released from the contract and bill.
5/31/2023, 4 pm, on SE side of Bloomington. young blonde very fit male Moxie rep quickly became hostile when I made my disinterest clear. scary Moxie Pest Control pls address this issue
They were supposed to call before spraying so pets could be brought inside first to protect them. They did not. Just started spraying while pets were outside.
Pest control companies have joined the dozens of other businesses that will only sell you something in "lifetime supply" quantities. I only need pest control people twice a year and do the rest of pest controlling myself. I live in an area with zillions of black widows and recluse spiders as well so I don't take any chances. I've contacted at least 5 pest control companies and they will not just come out for one trip - unless I pay them for 3 trips. How the heck do I know if they're any good? The last pest control guy that came out sprinkled a little here and a little there like a priest blessing a congregation. I know enough about spider control that what you use, where you spray and what areas need the most attention is the name of the game. This guy was useless. So forget it. Read up on controlling the pests you're after and do it yourself. There are lots of very effective products that you can get on line for less than 3 pest control trips, in quantities that will last ya for years, and work just as good or better then the licensed guys' stuff. The pest control business has become one of my most hated flim flams.
