MyGiftCardSite I have been robbed!!! Shoddy bookkeeping!

I received a MasterCard for $500 as a retirement gift in 2013 from mygiftcard. Because of ill health, I have not been able to take care of my personal things.
Recently, I logged on in the website and I have only $161.55 left.
There is no record of transactions!. Amazon has a record of purchases
since the year you join them. I was told they keep only a record for the current year.
The only transaction I have used it for was in 2016 for $130.99.
Where is the $369.01?
Even if you deducted the measly $2.00 for non use every month,
which is a stupid and unfair policy, that doesn't amount to $369.00.
I need an explanation.

MyGiftCardSite customer service / card reactivation

After attempting to use a $40 Mastercard gift card at a gas station, the card was deactivated.
Initially we could not find the receipt and were told that we could not get the card re-activated without a receipt.
There is a firewall between the customer service and the "financial institution" that actually deals with reactivation, etc. The only way to deal with the people who actually reactivate the card is via fax.
Fax # [protected]
Attn: Gift Card Activation
I faxed in the information without my receipt and asked for a response. I received no response. Date was 2/16/2017.
We were able to find the receipt, so I then faxed in the receipt (on 4/3/2017) with the rest of the information. I again received no response. I called the customer service number again. They said that more information (drivers license) was required. So I re-sent the fax with a copy of my drivers license (don't have date - but between 4/3 and 4/18).
After no reply again (their records show they tried to call but I received no such call), I called back. This time they said that a utility bill was required. Remember, this is for a $40 gift card to be re-activated. I sent this fax with a copy of a utility bill.
After calling them again (on 6/7/2017), they say they never received such fax. Last person I spoke to was Travis (no last name) - ID #0988. He said he works as the floor supervisor for Card Services. He told me the fax was not received even though I have a successful transmission receipt through FaxZero.com.

I am frustrated beyond belief and have no faith that this company intends to reactivate the gift card.

MyGiftCardSite prepaid gift cards

Purchased $1250.00 from Kroger in Hernando, Ms. on 12/24/2016. To date, $750.00 of those cards have been used in other parts of the country. I have tried to get Kroger involved, according to them, not their problem. Mygiftcardsite.com will do nothing other than make excuses and stall.
I have contacted the Mississippi State attorney Generals office today out of sheer frustration.
Buyers beware

MyGiftCardSite ripping off your balance

My daughter received one of these gift cards about 2 years ago, I don't recall what the gift amount was. She was cleaning out her wallet and asked me to check the balance on it, since it expired October 2019. I called the 866 number on the back and the young lady I spoke to said this card is not in our system. I would not recommend purchasing a card from this company.
On the back it says it owned by U.S. Bank National Association

MyGiftCardSite gift card

We got this gift card for our 10 year granddaughter obviously over a year ago. She kept it in the original package until she had saved enough other money to get a ipad so she has been saving for quite a while. Imagine her surprise and disappointment when she opened it and we went to activate it. Then, we find out that UNDER the packaging was a thing telling us they charged her 2.00 for every month she did not use it for over a year. So, her 50.00 card is with 34.00. I think this is deceptive practice as if you are going to do that, it should be PROMINENTLY marked on the outside of the package, not hidden under the packaging. I called and was given 1 month (2.00) back but this is a plain ripoff. I will NEVER use this service again and plan on making sure as many people as I can realize what a ripoff this company is. If I had known this, I would have just given her cash.

MyGiftCardSite gift card fee - illegal in my state but charged anyway

Several years ago I was given a gift card for $50. It has an expiration date of 02/20, and it's only 2017, but when I went to use it it doesn't exist.

The customer service rep (Kat, ID#0580) at [protected] said after 12 months there's a 2.00/month activity fee charged, so after 3 years, it had a zero balance. However -- these fees are illegal in my state (MA). When I told the rep this, she said "we don't follow those rules."

I had this happen with another Mastercard gift card, and they agreed that the fees were illegal, apologized and credited the fees back to the card. Kat at mygiftcardsite told me my card was now worthless and I was out of luck. She gave me a generic Mastercard phone number to call, but at this number they basically told me I'd been brushed off and said I needed to speak with the issuer.

MyGiftCardSite two 25 dollar gift cards

My kids each received a twenty five dollar gift card from their aunt. The expiration date was 7/20. We were leaving on vacation and the took them along. The sticker on the front said nothing about registering. They both found something they wanted at the same store. Both cards were declined. I ended up paying and brought the said cards home. I went to their web site and could register the card so I called the 866 number. Once there I had to type the card number a total of 5 five times, being told each time that I was wrong, until I spoke with a representative who also told me I had an inactive number. I told him that it had a 7/20 expiration date and he informed me that the date was for retailers to pull from their shelves. Long story short my sister is out $54, I'm out $50, and the visa gift cards are the biggest rip-off going. Send cash or check for gifts!

MyGiftCardSite horrible practices

This is the email I want to send to them... "To whom it may concern: I just purchased 3 Visa Gift Cards through a supermarket, along with 2 other gift cards. This was the first time I would be purchasing a Visa gift card. I have always purchased gift cards for a specific establishment rather than a general purchase card. Right after the cards rang up at the register, the clerk advised me the cards are now activated. When I saw the total price, I thought something was way off. I did not realize there was a $5.95 activation fee for each card. The other two gift cards didn't charge a penny. I am no stranger to purchasing gift cards, but this was the first I have seen of an "activation fee", and unfortunately it was too late. I immediately told them to take all three off my purchase. I was then informed that once they were activated I could not return them, as the store would not be able to recuperate the activation fees. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. If I had actually seen the fine print on the card that warned me of the fee, I never would have purchased them. I can't comprehend how I am paying an additional 27% above the actual value of the cards combined. I would have rather given cash as a gift and saved $18! This experience was not pleasing in the least. I don't think I have to tell you that I will not, under any circumstances, be purchasing another Visa gift card for anyone again." but...I can't send this email because they don't have an email option on the website. I am seriously embarrassed to be giving these as a gift to people, especially after reading all the other nightmares on this board about this company. A brutal waste of money. Please contact the stores where you purchased your cards and tell them about the horrible practices of this card company to have them removed from the shelves.

MyGiftCardSite credit card or prepaid card

I have originally purchase two prepaid cards with 500.00 dlls each at albertson's and I register both online like they suggested, and after I check my balance they told me that they were not completely activated. I had to fax documents and receipts to costumer service and waited for 18 days until they activated the cards. I use only one. And when I try to utilize the other one I noticed that the money was gone I call costumer service and they told me that I have used at walmart to buy something for exactly 500 dlls. I start a complaint and reported as stolen and as of november 10/2015. They sent me a letter explaining they will reimburse the money and send me another card. I have waited 2 months and I still have not received my replacement card with 500 dlls, I call today and they said it's nothing they can do about it, that I have to wait another 4 to 6 weeks. Who stole my money? Where is my card? Why wait for so long? Mygiftcardsite is fraudulent place becareful do not buy any card from this place

MyGiftCardSite the manager asked for details, but he states that he hasn't received the fax

I got the gift card from www.mygiftcardsite.com. I have tried to use it couple of times, but it has been declined all the time. I finally decided to contact the company and asked to help me. The manager told me to reactivate it and asked to send some details about me and this card by fax. I sent and 3 days later I didn’t get any instructions. The manager stated that he hasn’t received the fax, but I don’t trust him anymore.

MyGiftCardSite inactivity fees

I was given two $25 gift cards a couple of years ago. During that time, I have moved three times and was unable to use the cards. I am now getting settled, found my cards, went to use them and found out that my balance was $0 due to inactivity fees that were imposed on my card. The money given to me on these cards was for me to use, not for you to charge inactivity fees. I am asking that these two cards be reissued so that I may use my gift. It was not your money in the first place. The cards do not expire until Dec 2019. Therefore, the money should still be made available to me until that time.

MyGiftCardSite just to get balance, you must register giving them your private info

To find out the balance of my $25 MasterCard Electronic (on-line only) Gift Card, I was REQUIRED to register on this site, providing my personal information, ie: Name, Address, Phone and only then I was informed of a zero balance. I then could NOT delete this acct. So I called the phone number from this website and spoke with Theresa, who just tried selling me another gift card. After I declined that offer, I asked her to please delete my acct/or registration. Which she then told me how to use my gift card. I told her I knew how to use it, but that it had a zero balance and was not re-loadable and to please just cancel the registration and all of my personal information. She said that was not allowed! After approximately 6 minutes and my becoming more frustrated with her. I just simply told her I was going to report this, and so now, here I am reporting this. I will find every other site I can to continue reporting this. Master Card Gift Cards next on my list.

MyGiftCardSite fraud gift card

ok. These guys are a total fraud company and I don't even know how to report them to someone official to close them down. They are stealing money from little old ladies. My mother in law purchased a $20 gift card for my son and it never worked. Tried to call the company of which the phone number on the card is incorrect and the recording gives me a new number to call. Every time I call them, they have said they would mail a new card. It never came and this request was made 3 times. Then they said they would escalate the call, but no one ever called. Now I called them today and they said they would only talk to the cardholder who is my college age son and at college. They never told me this before! He certainly doesn't have time for this run around. I was asked which bank they were associated with and they said they could not tell me since I wasn't the card holder! What! I finally am accepting this is not a legit company. I told the girl on the phone, she better look for another job, because this company will certainly get shut down at some point. Not sure how that will work, but they are actually stealing thousands of dollars from unsuspecting customers. We will never purchase one of these credit cards from anyone, not knowing which ones are frauds, and may I suggest that no legit business carry the cards in their stores! I actually wish I bought the card, because I would just go back to the grocery store and complain to them. But alas, I am done dealing with this scam company . But buyer beware. I would not purchase any of these visa type cards anywhere! Just give cash as a gift! This is their phone number: [protected]. They change their story everytime I call. Scammers!

i also got a card from mother by the same people. the card first didn't work so i had to send in a fax with the purchase info to activate it. they wouldn't talk to me because i didn't purchase it. 4 days later it still didn't work
so they mailed a new one which took two weeks. i had $250 on it. i have only been able to spend $86 of it. i called
[protected] the activity history had only the record of the one purchase. i spoke with a sup and she said there was a purchase of $150 at stater brothers. it doesn't show this online or through the phone system. she had no explanation for this. also because it was my mother that bought the card she would have to call or I need to fax in documentation: name, card# and my ph# and the amount in question. It has been a nightmare since getting this card.

MyGiftCardSite holding funds

I purchased a perpaid "Visa" at a Kroger store so my son could move out to our house from Washington. He told an attendant to pay inside at a Shell in Oregon. The attendant did not. Therefore the card held $74.00 per transaction. The total of 2 transactions should have been $54, but they held $148. Then a transaction cancelled on him in Idaho, because he thought he had more than a hundred. Holding the rest of the balance. My son was stuck in Idaho. There was a very nice lady who put $13 in his tank and some friends came through for the rest. Unbelieveable! My credit card does not hold money for any transaction, they take the exact amount. Why should a company be able to strand an 18 year old 400 miles from home?
My thoughts, never buy a prepaid from this company!

I received the card for Christmas 2014 and on January 2, they said I used it at a gas station. The next time I tried to use it, it was declined. I thought maybe it was just that business. However, I tried to use it several more times and it was declined. Finally in July, 2015, I called them and they said to reactivate it, I needed to fax some material to them. I faxed these items and waited a week and didn't hear anything. I called and they said there was no indication that I faxed them so I faxed them again on July 23, 2015. Still no response. I call them again on 8/12/2015 and they said I bought something at Kroger Fuel on January 2 and returned something on January 3 which made me have a 7.30 amount larger than the gift card, so they suspected fraud. I don't remember that far back. They said it was a particular Kroger and I found out it was on Dixie Highway. I rarely go there, but is possible. However, I would not have driven back to Dixie Highway to return a $7.30 item. And I can't even figure out what I could buy at a Kroger fuel station that I could return - definitely not gas or a soft drink. It doesn't make sense. Anyway, they want me to send them a receipt for the purchase and the return. Ridiculous. I told them to keep the 7.30 and reactivate the card and Stephanie said she would escalate it back to the reactivation people and I should hear on Monday. I am at this point not believing it will be in my favor. They are holding my money

MyGiftCardSite unacceptable transaction policy

According to the FAQ on their website,
Q: What if I disagree with a transaction that I see on my on-line statement?

A: Please call us at [protected]. We will assist you with the process to dispute unauthorized charges to your card.

I received the same line of customer non-service dialogue:
"THE FUNDS WILL BE RELEASED IN 10 DAYS."

These cards should not be sold as 'gifts' as they are more of a pain to use than anything I've ever encountered. Sure I should have read the fine print before using an electronic transaction method, but come on. It's a gift card for Christ's sake!
The idea people are going to get when they receive it, is somewhere along the lines of "Now I can buy that thing I've been wanting!". The line of thought usually does not include reading the fine print. Let's go have fun, right?!
Wrong. The first time you screw up and use the card at the pump, you're done for a period greater than a week.
This company and it's policies are shady as f***.
I am broke, living thousands of miles from home. My mother sent me a card for my birthday to try to help me as much as she could.
I had to call her and tell her that the gift she bought me was broken. Yeah. You guys who run this operation at U.S. Bank made my mother upset. And now, if you will, HULK IS ANGRY.

MyGiftCardSite overcharged for transactions

Mastercard gift-card-activity log shows a discrepancy between the amount appearing upon the receipts and the amount deducted from my gift card balance. For example, Donatos receipt $16.89 ( $20.26 deducted from gift card balance); Panera receipt $5.00, ($6.00 deducted from gift card balance); Panera receipt $3.79 ($4.54 deducted from gift card balance). These erroneous charges are suspect of unethical practices by this company.
