I joined as a life time membership years ago. Always wondered what happened to receiving products to test n the magazines. Went to sign into my account and it's invalid, doesn't exist! Went to call the 1-800 number and rec'd a message that the destination number was not found. What happened to my life time membership? I've never received any type of information from them stating anything about my life time membership. This is fraudulent at the least. Took my payments and ran away.
Years ago I signed up for the National Home Gardening Club. Received my free gifts and occasionally logged into the website. I've moved and realized, I hadn't seen a magazine in years and needed to change my name, too. Now, I can't even find their website. But, I have found tons of sites complaining about them not honoring the Life Membership. (which I had/have). Not a happy gardener, here!
I thought I was a Life Member of the National Home Gardening Club - Charter Member # 015867 January 1998...I have not received magazines or correspondence from them in years! What is going on? If there is no longer a National Home Gardening Club, I would like at least my money returned that I paid to be a charter member! Looks like a fraud to me! Please let me know what is going on!

I was just cleaning out a closet and found a copy of their magazine and it dawned on me I haven't heard from them in years. I too had a life time membership. I have searched online, after the old web site address failed to bring up their web site and there is no sign of them... just lots of complaints about them. Guess they no longer exist. It seems there are a lot of us with lifetime membership. Just didn't know their lifetime was so short.
I thought I was a Life Member of the National Home Gardening Club - Charter Member # [protected] April 1998...I have not received magazines or correspondence from them in years! What is going on? If there is no longer a National Home Gardening Club, Notices should have gone out, as well as reimbursements for money spent! Should I report this to the better business bureau?

I am a lifetime member of the National Home Gardening Club -Charter Member #[protected] August 2011...I tried many times to get things to try out but never got them. Always saying they would send them but never got any. Guess maybe a scam. Free tools wound up costing because that's about all I got from my lifetime membership. Was an expensive tool pouch. I like to know if they are even still around. Maybe good to find out from the better business bureau.

It's been a year since I last posted here about the National Home Gardening Club. It looks like there hasn't been anything new about these frauds. I found my card and was surprised to see I had been a member since 1997. It's too bad. I thought the magazine was well put together and informative. And the products I was testing had moved up in quality from just seeds.
Same here, but why would they send out tools to try if it was fraudulent? I dont remember when I became a member but I loved the runners they sent me to try! Good thing I just found my gardening mat to use while weeding that had the name of the club on it so I could look it up just now. Wow didnt have any idea it was gone?
Same as above comments. Member since 2006 and have heard nothing in years. If this is owned by a Scout, members should have been notified and compensated. Does Scout even exist?
Joining as a Charter Lifetime member in 2002. Got the sign up bonus, tested 2 items, was promised ad-free magazines. They stopped sending testing opportunities, filled the magazine with ads, and finally stopped sending it at all. Totally, a bogus company with no understanding of liability. i thought it was just me. Sorry to hear so many got caught up in this "American Greed" scam.
I have been a member since 2005. Nothing received in years. Tested products then everything stopped. What happened.

They went bankrupt, apparently through some sort of Russian investor who ended up firing the owner and the entire executive board. Looks like that was in 2017. Details are confusing; so, not really sure. It's a long list of clubs affected: Handyman, cooking, gardening, North American hunting, and even the history channel got caught up it this mess.
I joined in 2012 and received a few gifts. I received my lifetime card and my wife was very excited about our membership. After receiving a few packets of seeds, that was the end of their correspondence. I had questions about gardening, tried calling and emailing never received any response either way. Could never reach anyone. Now I see all the other complaints and that I was not the only one that was left in the dust.

Does this so-called Life Membership mean anything to a club that has taken the money and ran? WTF? I paid for a membership in full and have received NOTHING! IN SEVERAL YEARS. Do you not have to be held accountable? This is absolute crap. You suck! I want my money back [censored]!
I paid for a lifetime membership to the national home gardening club and then nothing. This really is BS. I think someone should be held accountable for this fraudulent act. Is there anyone that can help? I sure AM NOT VERY HAPPY AT ALL! I paid to be a lifetime member and would at least like to have my money back. This sure does seem like fraud to me. Please advise what is going on.

Than you.
I, too, joined this "club" in 2007...last time I heard from you was 2008. Have not find anywhere I can ask or give a comment till now. wrote, and my letters were always returned.. What happened? did you take the money and run? M.K. McClenahan, 405 Warren ave; Grant, Ne. 69140... Please send a response>>>>. thank you!
My story is, in good faith I paid for a lifetime membership, it appears you took the money and ran.
I found my lifetime membership card yesterday - been one since Feb 2006. Went to update the address in the latest of a series of moves over the last several years, and no site. Then I found this. This is not a good thing. I'm gonna finish scrolling now, and see if I can figure out what happen and if any resolution is planned for us.
I too have been a lifetime member since early 2000. Had been receiving gifts and such in the first couple of years as well as magazines. Then radio silence. Along with everyone else, I too am wondering where this club went and why there hasn't been any contact.

They should refund our membership fees. That is stucks
I joined in 2000, same story, company a scam apparently.

I been a Life Member since June of 2003. I have not received any thing in years. What is going on? Does any one have any information? K Bauman 4522 E Campbell Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85018
Well it seems that I am in the same boat as everyone else..smh. I also became a lifetime member in 2010 and got a few gifts and magazine, and then it was all over. Hopefully something is actually being down about this horrible club that appears to be still out there, but different names and all. Good luck everyone with this horrid situation.
I have been a Life Member of the National Home Gardening Club since 2007; Member # [protected]. I believe I stopped hearing from them in 2010. I received one poorly made pair of anvil clippers to review which I did. That was about it. Oh, I did get the canvas bag and cheap garden tools. I just found my card in an old wallet. I started looking online and came to this page. I know I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 for this membership as I am sure many others did. We deserve something for our money. Should there be a class-action lawsuit, sign me up!

I paid to be a life time member of the National Home Gardening club around 1995. When I became a life time member they sent me a mat to kneel on while weeding, which I use every year and tools for gardening, which again I am still using today. I used to buy calendars from them every year. It just dawned on me the other day, when I realized my clippers are getting a little dull, and thought I would see if I would be able to get some more. Then I found this and something on Pinterest. I'm really sorry to hear this has happened.
Unhappy about this

I joined the National home gardening club April of 2006. Was it bought out by Scout and they do not honor the membership.
What can we do about it.
I thought I was a life time member. Paid $400 to join in 2006. Other than some tools, I have not heard from them in years. Did I see that it was bought out by Scout. No one notified me.. What year was this..

I signed up for the National Home Gardening Club in 2012. Just found my folder with the Premier Life Member card. Like everyone else I've haven't received anything in years. I really enjoyed the magazines too.
Same here, what a rip off.
I'm in the same boat as everyone here. It appears the complaints go back at least to 2019 and nobody has gotten any response. Lifetime membership...what a fraud
I don't remember when I joined. It was sometime in the late 1990s. When I paid for the lifetime membership I was sent at least $400 worth of gardening tools. 3 types of clippers/pruners, adjustable hose nozzle, an extension "shower" for the hose, a curling/retractable hose, padded kneeling pad, washable "blanket" with plastic on one side, and gloves. I still have the gloves. Gave most of the stuff to relatives when I moved to an apartment. I got my $s worth from them. Sorry they have gone out of business and reneged on promises made.
Lucky you! I paid about the same and didn't receive a darn thing except a pruning tool they wanted me to test. It was lousy, poorly designed and they wanted feedback. I gave it to them and that's the last I hear from them. It was a fraud.
Also a lifetime member (beginning in 2009) and would echo many of the comments. Loved the magazine, tested a few products (some were good, some weren't so good) and then stopped receiving anything in 2015 after a second move. Now a bit more settled, I was looking to update my mailing address. Guess not. Would be interested in hearing any more info.
Another lifetime member here. They certainly were quick to collect our money for those memberships. Maybe we should start a class-action lawsuit to see if we can get some of our money back. Any suggestions on lawyers?
And another Lifetime Member who was cheated out of hard earned money. What can we do?
