Lifetime membership
I paid for the Lifetime Membership in 1998. I haven't heard from them in years at first the magazine, and all was very nice. Then it was no more. The money we paid for it should be refunded. It is a shame to be excited about joining something, knowing the money was tight, the the advertisement was wonderful, made you want to join. False advertising . Thank you

Around 1997 I became a Life time member and received all my membership as a welcome member. I paid over $200 to become a Life Member and I feel that I once again have been taken by what I thought was a respectable gardening club. I was expecting information on gardening problems and more, but after a few years of magazines with ideas, poof it all stop. I kept waiting to hear from the National Home Gardening Club but nothing. I would expect a notice if they were changing names or what. If the National Home Gardening club was going away I would expect a refund for my Life Membership. PLEASE if you aren't a club anymore I expect a full refund!

No magazines, no benefits, nothing. I really enjoyed being a member and loved the magazine. I would love to have my membership with the club, but whoever owns it now doesn't recognize the membership I paid for. I think that is unfair. If they bought the company, why won't the recognize people that supported the company to begin with.

Life-time Membership lasted for only months
I paid a few hundred dollars and purchased a life-time membership to the national home gardening club. I received a canvas bag with an 8 piece gardening tool set. Just like the others on this complaint board, I received membership information for a short while and then nothing! I had forgotten about this life-time membership until I came across a piece of paper with their name and logo on it today, while I was clearing some paperwork. So, what happened to them? What happened to the hundreds of dollars that we all paid for our "life-time" membership? I didn't realize that it was their life-time and not mine/ours. Is there a way to recover the money that we had paid, such as a class action lawsuit? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I had purchased a lifetime membership. Received few samples and mags, than they stopped coming. I found a letter in my file cabinet now that i was moving to a new place. I've been a member since 2010 to both national home gardening club and north american fishing club and spent like 800.00 total on memberships expecting to get discounts threwout my whole life and now I can't use them when I need them wtf? There needs to be sum1 held accountable for stealing everyone's money and leading us to believe we r doing god for ourselves! I want reimbursed for all my money lossed.

Lack of communication
I joined the National Home Gardening Club as a Lifetime Member in 2008 after I moved from North Carolina to Florida. I felt this might give me insight into the differences in gardening between the two climates. Initially, the product testing and newsletter were great, but suddenly I wasn't hearing anything from them at all. I received a solicitation letter advising me they were offering Premium Lifetime Membership for an additional fee, but I declined that offer. Since then, there has been no newsletter or other communication. The membership fee was not that cheap, so it has been very disappointing not to have them continue to service their members.
Desired outcome: I would prefer to continue my membership benefits, however, if they are no longer servicing Lifetime Members, I would appreciate a partial refund.

When I went to the site to update the latest move, I found it was gone. I found this complaint site when I Googled to find out where to go for the club. In 2010 I paid $260 plus for a lifetime membership with the named company. The purpose of the lifetime membership was to receive monthly magazines for life. The last time I received a magazine was in 2014. I am still living and would like the magazines. I have been unable to contact the company.

On December 1, 2008, I received my new membership to the National Home Gardening Club. P.O. Box 3526, Minnetonka, MN 55343. Life Member Number: [protected]. Noted that "Every benefit and privilege is Yours for a lifetime."
After that I received magazines and test products. Later all ceased to arrive. There was no "heads up" given that I received.
I would like a refund of my membership cost and a reason as to why notification wasn't given.
It has taken me this long to find a site to even contact you!

I'm a life time member of both the National Home Gardening Club (11/2010) & Cooking Club of America (07/2003). Really upset they have up & disappeared with no notice or at the very least something on the sites saying what happened. Keep hearing how they are now owned by someone/something called Scout but if that's the case why isn't there at least a link of some kind?
We joined in 2005 I loved it. I search for answers and find none! You would think with membership paid they would have notified us.
I joined in July 2001. I still have my Lifetime Membership card. Like all of the others here, I am angry that the company reneged and did not notify anyone. I feel completely cheated. At the very least, they should have made some kind of announcement.

As I'm purging and preparing for tax season, I came across a file of 'subscriptions'. As with others, I too wondered what happened. I have my number, etc., but several communications are not dated.

Several years ago I joined NHGC as a Lifetime Member for a fee of $30. I received their promised benefits for about 1 year and then no response from them since. They stated that we would receive a quarterly periodical on gardening and free test offers for a lifetime. I have noticed many such complaints on line about this same topic. I was wandering if there is any recourse to getting our membership fee returned or is this a total scam?
