such unprofessional service
Because of the agent's fault, I didn't get the quota as they promised. I got my bill increase $400 per year. They said I was missing some documentations they need and I got the bill later. I was trying to reach to the agent hardly to let him help me to take a look at the issue. I sent the Email one month earlier than the due date of the bill. And in this month, I was keep trying to remind him, please help me, please give me all the documentations which I need to sign. No reply of Email, no reply of text message, and also did not answer the phone. Util the due date, and I would like to cancel the policy, the agent called me to deal with my issue. I understand people made mistake. If the mistake happened, we can fix it together. But the issue I can not understand is why he just trying to ignore me. It is really pissed me out. Never seen an agent this kind of unprofessional.
denied claim / treatment by claims adjuster
My claim was for depreciation of value of my car. I bought my car 10/31/15, it is a 2012. My car had never been in a accident before and then I got side swiped when it was parked about a month after I bought it. After I had gotten it repaired, I inquired about a depreciation of value claim because this was the first accident the car had. The damage wasn't structural which they knew from the beginning of the repair process. Which was one of the reasons the adjuster used for my denied claim. Another was that the damages were fixed properly but even if they hadn't been, they may or may not had given me anything for that either. My problem is that I know when people look for cars they are far more inclined to not get a car that has been in a accident if they have the option. When I bought this car I passed up a similar car because it had a fender bender on the KBB. I had options so I picked this car without an accident.
I wish the adjuster had been honest from the start about the very low chances of the claim being successful. If he had told me some of the criteria from the start I wouldn't have wasted emailing him back and forth for months. I still don't agree with the results but I had a feeling it would go bad considering the whole repair process experience I had with them. They tried to put used and not OEM parts back onto my car like how it was when it got hit.
Which I only got resolved because my body shop guy is a awesome guy and worked it out with them. Something they flat out told me no they don't pay for OEM parts. I hope that no one else has a similar experience with Nationwide but if you do definitely speak up. It's not fair and they aren't on your side. I will never use Nationwide as a insurance provider and will definitely discourage any friends or family members from ever being a customer with them if I have the chance.
auto insurance (property damage)
A vehicle insured under one of the Nationwide companies attempted a U-Turn across oncoming traffic on the 4th day of July 2014 striking my luxury vehicle near the headlight with a direct impact to the RF wheel.
Nationwide denies there was any damage to the tire, suspension, front bumper, plastic panels attached to the lower fender and doors. The fender was destroyed in front of the wheel, behind the wheel and both doors pushed in above the trim.
Damages were estimated at 1, 500.00 to fill all the body damage with plastic body filler and spray some paint over the damage. This also includes some type of repurposed wheel that will NOT MATCH the factory wheels made in Germany. The appraiser was argumentative demanding any shop can fix the wheel alignment for 69.95 when the national average for luxury vehicles is typically 150.00 and can be as much as 400.00 depending upon the vehicle and the provider.. The suspension now makes a thumping sound over any bump after the wheel was struck by another vehicle. Its very likely the Brake-Rod Bushing is damaged from the impact of an auto accident and never considered by Insurance as underlying damage pushed upon the consumer by a powerful insurance company.
The appraiser also argued "the trim only has minor damage and the shop can buff that out." The shop tried to buff out the damage and now the plastic trim is misaligned, it has loose fasteners allowing the ends to be lifted away from the steel body with light finger pressure. The chrome inserts are also loose and scraped 3-feet behind the front wheel. Scrapes in the paint still remain and there is obvious damages on this car identified by several body shops who refuse to finish the repairs due to insurance demanding the damages are not related to the loss... A new estimate was written by a certified body shop to replace the plastic panels and repaint as required; an additional 1, 528.24 to remedy this portion of the loss (Trim ONLY).
The RF tire has cuts and abrasions to the sidewall and Nationwide refused to accept liability to replace this tire as a safety concern and simply stated "If the tire fails, take it up with the manufacturer" who will also deny responsibility due to the fact auto accidents are not covered by any tire warranty. *Nationwide Insurance has not authorized a tire retreading facility to inspect the damaged tire to the same standard as a reconditioned tire to meet government approved safety standards.
A genuine replacement wheel was quoted at 930.00 and Nationwide Insurance only approved 189.00 for a wheel with different cosmetic condition due to the type of paint applied and the salesman confirmed it has been machined altering the OEM condition.
The replacement paint was not finished down to the same cosmetic condition and the polymer sealant was not replaced after repair by a body shop. This work was completed just six weeks before this accident occurred and is labor intensive. Anticipating an additional 700.00 in labor to cut & buff the clearcoat on three panels with SMAT polish and replace two coats of paint sealant requiring 36 hours of cure time between applications.
The claims supervisor argues "Dimuniuation of Value only applies to new vehicles" and a Loss-of-Value and Loss-of-Use were never considered by Nationwide Insurance.
RESOLUTION: Complete repair of my vehicle (including genuine factory parts) by a body shop certified in European vehicles and not one of inexperienced independent shops who cut corners to maintain a good economic relationship with insurance providers.

cancellation of auto/renters
2/8/16 I called the Lower Burrell agent in PA to inform them that upon buying my house I had found another company that with home and auto would save me over $500/year. I had told them that I would like to cancel my insurance with them for the following month. The agent was disgustingly rude with me and made a comment that "If you're switching companie...

Logic doesn't count: My wife got stuck in mud and was pulled out by a tow truck, disconnecting the front body panel in the process. She drove home (about 4 miles). Since the car still seemed okay to drive she drove it about 40 miles the next day and it overheated. The claims adjuster said get an estimate for damage. The body work was less than our $500 deductible but the repair to the cooling system was around $800. Nationwide said since there was no visible cause for the crack in cooling system on top of the engine, they denied the claim. Question? Since we never had an overheating problem before the incident, only right after it, what do you suppose the cause was?
withholding payment on a claim
Other driver opened his car door into my lane of travel as I passed by, striking the wheel well area, mirror and passenger side door. Nationwide decided in subrogation (6 months later!) that without witnesses it could have been caused by either party and withheld my $500 deductible. At the scene the other driver initially apologized, saying he didn't see me. Then he refused to give me any information saying he lived in his car. I took out my cell phone to call the police and then he gave name and address, but no insurance info. All this was in my report to Nationwide, yet Nationwide says it is my fault? This is an insurance company so I expect to get no reaction to this or any resolution other than the one they just made. So this is just a warning to others to find another insurance company.
reinstate my policy!
I feel that NATIONWIDE is not on my side when I need their help. I have been a loyal Nationwide auto insurance customer for over half a decade. My auto insurance policy had just been cancelled on Dec 29, effective back in Nov 29. Now I have a lapse for a month. I got a notice from Nationwide around early-mid December, saying that payment must be received by December 29 2015 to continue my coverage. I was late on my payment accidentally by an automatic bank draft issue. Payment due date was Nov 29. I purchased a money order for the amount desired and forwarded it using USPS 2 day Priority Mail to PO BOX addressed on the payment slip. I called the local nationwide insurance agency yesterday to check if my payment was received and recorded. Then, I suddenly found that my payment was not received before/on Dec 29 and so, my policy was cancelled back to November 29. I called nationwide customer service 3 times to reinstate my policy. All my efforts to reinstate my policy were in vein. This was for first time in last 5 years. Plus, this is the holiday season, during which delaying mail delivery typically happens. I’m not saying it’s all their faults. But they have to take into account all the things that are important in a situation like this. Thanks to Nationwide, I have suddenly a month lapse in my auto insurance and have to re-sign a new policy at a surprisingly higher rate. This company really hit me hard with an ugly gift like this at this happy holiday season. I’m inquiring about the delivery date as the postal delivery record still shows no final delivery date. If I find that delivery was made on time to PO BOX, I’ll sue them for giving me such an enormous stress.
deductible increase.
About a month ago Nationwide raised my deductible from $1000 to $2500... I went to the agent to complain and he told me there was nothing he could do. My premium per month dropped $4. At $2500 it would take a very large disaster for that much damage on my home. $2500 deductible is like having no insurance at all. I think this is a scam. I received a letter yesterday stating Nationwide is now offering no deductible on their car insurance policies... Now we know where the money is coming from. I think this is a scam as they did not violate any ins. policy laws... Just upped the deductible to put that amount in their coffers...
breach of contract, damages and declaratory relief
This company had a untrained, unskilled sales agent sale us auto/renter's insurance in June 2014. We faithfully paid our monthly premium amounts each month from June to December 2014. In December during a roadside safety check, a law enforcement officer informed us that our tags and registration had been suspended. Due to failure to maintain insurance. We both are disabled senior citizens and veterans. Law enforcement impounded our vehicle and left us on the side of the road, after just coming back from the commissary shopping with over 20 bags of groceries. I have a heart condition which lead me to my doctor's officer because of this incident. Nationwide cancelled our insurance without notification back in August 2014, although they continued to collect premium payment up and until December 10, 2014, and cashed every single check of our payments. They took advantage of two senior citizens and two disabled vets living in a senior community to sale insurance too!
taking advantage of seniors
A untrained sales agent of Nationwide Insurance Co. in McDonough, GA came to a over 55 yrs. old senior community to sale auto/renter's insurance. We purchase both policies from her, we are disable vets, husband and wife. We drove around paying our monthly premium faithfully to Nationwide Insurance company from June 2014 to December 10, 2014. On December 10, 2014, a Police Officer in McDonough, GA was doing a safety check due to the holidays on all vehicles. They pulled us over and informed us that our tags were suspended and we were driving without insurance. We were given two tickets, and our vehicle was impounded. We were left on the side of the road with over 20 bags of groceries in our vehicle, after just coming back from the commissary shopping. I have a heart condition, had a anxiety attack due to stress, embarrassment, and shock to find out that for over five months we had been driving around GA thinking we had a fully insured vehicle since we were paying our insurance premiums faithfully each month and were not insured. This auto/renter's insurance company preys upon the elderly and disabled, and even vets! They have offered no explanation, apology or compensation for our troubles whatsoever.
won't pay claim.
Nationwide won't pay my claim. They say, because the person who hit me, won't respond to their calls and letters. They can't release the check. They already came and game me an estimate for the damage. Now they are doing nothing, because of the other person involved, who caused the accident. That woman gave me all her insurance/vehicle information. When I filed the claim, all that info was correct. However for the simple reason, she won't respond to her own insurance company, they won't pay the claim.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
First, I have a problem reaching Nationwide, they have a recording that keeps me on hold and I still don't get to speak to anyone about my problem. I emailed the warranty division and still got no reply. Once when I did get them for my A/C, they didn't cover the charges. I had a problem with plumbing and they told me they didn't cover fixtures. It wasn't a fixture problem. Each time I've had a problem they refuse to honor their contract with me. Right now, I'm still waiting for them to contact me concerning a problem and still haven't heard from them.
Police officials from Plymouth are suspecting three companies of running a scam that involves credit card and bank accounts of individual users across the country. The three companies are Wolfen Solutions, Superior Technologies and Synergy Design Solutions.
Police officials ran into these companies when following up on a complaint lodged by a resident. The complainant was unnerved and came to the police after noticing unfamiliar charges piling up in his credit or bank account.
It is now believed that the scam is weaning money directly from the accounts or using credit cards illegally to make purchases against them. People living in Michiana are especially at risk. However, investigations done so far have turned up victims across the country. So, suspecting that the scam is a nationwide one, Plymouth police warn that anybody can be their next victim. They are urging everyone to keep a close watch on their credit card, debit card and internet banking accounts.
Stealing money from accounts in this manner is possible when secret access codes like login passwords, PIN number, and account numbers are compromised and fall into the hands of online fraudsters. There are two ways that fraudsters can get hold of this data.
They can either purchase it from other online criminals or they can steal it themselves. This is done by using secretly downloaded malicious programs. The malware, as such programs are called, keep a track of all online transactions made by users on an infected computer. Then it collects all login passwords and similar confidential information and passes them on to fraudsters.
Police officials are world over dread receiving such types of complaints. More often than not, they end up in their list of unsolved crimes as such scams throw up few leads that the police can pursue to trace the criminals and bring them to justice.
I was appalled by the content of the 'Nationwide' TV advertisment on last night's television. Having spent months in a wheelchair myself I consider myself forunate to be no longer handicapped in this way. My stroke left me helpless for months and, to see someone leaping from a wheelchair to perform aerial gymnastics with a football struck me as a very sick joke aimed at those whose existence is confined in this way and whose lif will always be to be imprisoned in this way. Please, no more!
I was in a car accident a few weeks ago wherein the other driver (covered by Nationwide) ran a RED light and I could not avoid collision. I called the police to file a report and the other driver received a citation for running a red light. Nationwide offered a damages settlement of 80/20 percent even though I wasn't at fault for the accident. Later they did a damages estimate of my car, without me there, claiming $2, 000 of damage was done PRIOR to the accident and offered to only pay for $220! Without hiring an attorney or taking them to Small Claims Court, I can't fight them because I was only covered for liability with my insurance company.
I have no idea how they know my home phone number and believe to be Nationwide Survey. With my profoundly deaf and cannot pick up the phone is impossible for me to hears the voice, instead I used via typetalk from my display caller and turn out to be From NationWide Surveyors. Thank you. Please remove their list on my home phone.
cancellation - debt collection
I have had nationwide auto insurance for 16 years and have had no complaints until I had to cancel. I cancelled my policy because 1) their rates were considerably higher then other companies when I added a second car; and 2) I moved to Florida and they do not operate in the state of Florida. Either way, my husband and I had to cancel our policy. We sent an email and written request per their instructions. They continued to bill us and did not acknowledge our cancellation request. When they did finally cancel our policy they then sent our account to collections. They never called, emailed or tried in any way to contact us about what they said we still owed. The first time I was aware that they were trying to collect additional funds was through a debt collection agency. I am confused. I thought debt collection agencies were for companies who had tried extensively to reclaim a debt and the customer refused to pay. That did not happen. We were not given the chance to pay before they went to collections. When I called customer service to have this rectified, they were not helpful.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Same thing happened to me, except they sent the collections letter to my Mother's Work place! I called Customer Service and all they said is I should have paid the bill, (that I never received) and they couldn't help. They're so disorganized and unprofessional at Nationwide. You always have to call the Agent direct to get any help because calling the Customer Service line is a complete waste of time.
obviously paying your bill on time is not enough
I have fire damage claim and my truck has set in the shop for about a month now. All i hear from Sara B. is that there in the process of doing this or doing that. I have been with several different insurance agencies in the past and never had to wait more than a week for good customer service. I was supposed to receive a call last week from another agent of Nationwide but that was a week ago. What does a person have to do to get good customer service? Obviously paying your bill on time is not enough. They want your money but give you no service.
fraudulants
One of the few circumstance pertaining to [nation wide insurance].
In march 2011, my comprehensive&collision coverage was removed without my consent. I did'nt have knowldege of this until november, 2011. The follow up requested, for reasons why this occurred never transpired. When nation wide added this coverage back they charged me 55.00 towards my january bill. Completey unfair. Nor did they inform me of this charge prior. Wednesday january the 4, 2012. As usual, i was bounced from numerous agents. As i constently requested supervisors, i was denied over and over, given wrong ph. No. For suggested contacts etc.. If possible, i would like the phone calls retreived for review transpiring from january 4, 2012. For assement these records should be taken into consideration in implementing the quality service and curtisey, not exmplified from many agents at nationwide. [protected]. My premiums consistly increases. As the contrary when subscribed for a few years.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
extremely unhelpful customer service
For the last four weeks i have given up a minimum of 10-12 hours of my time calling and keeping up with the status of my insurance policy, in that time i have talked to associates, senior associates, and main supervisors about my policy all of which have promised a quick response and repair of my insurance issue, none of which have EVER called me back with a solution or the problem fixed.
For the last two months I have double payed on a single vehicle, bought a new vehicle and sold the previous. between all of this, Nationwide has cancelled my policy when i was told by few that there was a hold and i would not incur a lapse on my policy, which due to the cancellation i have now been notified by my lean holder on my new vehicle that i have not fulfilled my end of the contract by continuously having full coverage insurance, which will result in a default payment to them for proper insurance of around 200 dollars a month for insurance on top of a 500 dollar car payment. nationwide is not on your side, this is possibly the worst service I’ve ever encountered.

travel insurance
we bought travel insurance for our cruise in Jan 2011& we are out $2000+.
They only paid a small portion although we missed our connection & our cruise.
We appealed our claim 2 times & each time after we sent the necessary information showing that
the plane was late, we could not catch up with our cruise ship until the 5th day etc, they had a new different reason on why we would not get the insurance claim which we paid for. Our travel agent & also the
cruise line backed us up.
Our friends & family can hardly believe that Nationwide can get away with not paying on vacation claims
like this.
overpriced and overinsured
After my divorce I had to get insurance suddenly and I called a local company and I was insured very quickly. I thought it compared in price, but since I really didn't deal with the car insurance before I really didn't know. A few years later when I had a financial crunch I discovered several things: 1)My coverage amounts were much higher than required. I was massively over insured. 2)I was paying more than twice the amount for the insurance if adjusted for the over insurance. 3) They ignored my request for discontinuation and refused to return most of the premium. 4) After I asked to have my premium returned they cancelled me apparently in an attempt to discredit me. Every time I see their commercial I want to scream. They are unscrupulous and take advantage of people. Buyer beware this company sucks.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

beware of nationwide's pollicy's
Please be AWARE of Nationwide's policy's... one include they only fix (or pay) what they see with their naked eye... no, alignments, no chassis pulled on machines... nothing, Our rear end was bent, chassis bent and they only wanted to paint it and put a bumper cover on it.. we took it to a frame shop..PROVED it had all these other problems and our estimate went up nearly $1700, but this still is about $5000 off of the estimates that I have.. So be aware of the stunts they Pull. as of now they have hired an attorney to talk to me...isn't it supposed to be me who hired the attorney..lol, beware of any release forms when you have an accident also, do not sign anything, If I can be a help to anyone let me know...Go to Allstate, or Statefarm...NEVER Nationwide !

fraud
I was hit by a speeding drunk driver who had Progressive Insurance and a 15, 000!.00 insurance policy!. He was traveling at 66 mph in a 35 mph zone, driving drunk and had a suspended license;. Police charged him with the accident and he was sentenced to a 2 to 5 year prison term;. Progressive Insurance paid the value of his policy, but I was out of work for 6 months, in rehab and have permanent injuries from this accident!. I "paid for" a 150, 000!.00 uninsured/underinsured insurance policy with Nationwide Insurance.. Nationwide told my attorney that " I am at fault, and we will offer 15, 000.00". I was sold a toilet paper contract with Nationwide, and it is not worth the paper it is written on. Nationwide has committed insurance fraud.
water damage
early January. my cabinets, drawers, counters, sling swing, ceiling fans, floor, and manylost personal belongings, table, tc not inculded. I also am suppose to have alternative living and been homeless since jANUARY. not getting my calls back Im at wits end
Beware of Nationwide for business liability insurance. We had Nationwide for 2009 and we renewed for 2010. Nationwide sent the renewal policy and payment form which we paid in full on time (documented). Three months after the policy was renewed and paid, Nationwide changed the policy (changed the SIC code) without notifying us and informed us our policy now doubled plus in price. We cancelled and found another company. Nationwide not only wants to keep the balance of the unused premium but also wants the premiums which the policy was changed to or they will send us to "collections". This is nothing less than fraudulant and at the very least unprofessional.
We are presently contesting through the states insurance commission, the NH BBB, and will file in small claims if Nationwide does not drop this nonsense and refund the unused premiums. Beware of their agents as well, they are no better and will not back you.
My parents had nationwide insurance on their vehicle. I was borrowing their car and was rear ended by another vehicle while stopped at a red light. Nationwide sent my parents paperwork, demanding that I sign it stating that I would be held financially responsible if I ever stepped foot in a vehicle that was on my parent's policy and was in an accident again. This included being a passenger in the vehicle. Utterly ridiculous. Needless to say my family as well as anyone we know does not do business with this company anymore. I was 25 years old at the time with a valid drivers license, my own different insurance company on my own vehicle which was broken down at the time. My driving record is also spotless, not one ticket or accident ever before. Keep in mind that if you go with a company that claims to be one of the cheapest, they are correct. You get what you pay for in customer service and claim hassles. Did I mention nationwide did not even pay my medical bills. Even after they received the police report that stated the driver that struck me was in complete fault and was even given a ticket for 'failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident'. Their policies are meant for their gain and nothing else.
i have to concur with what the above said. with the information given, no insurance company is going to say you are at fault unless the police report says your at fault. i have a feeling that some info is missing that would sway the outcome in a direction other than in your favor.
