I have never had such a horrible experience with any company in over 15 years of buying furniture. Delivery has been delayed twice, which took over 6 months and then the order was wrong and reordered. I was told that the reorder would be expedited and instead of taking the 3 months that they told me, they are estimating it to be 5 months. I have never heard anything so ridiculous. I would never buy anything else from Natuzzi nor would I ever refer them to family or friends. In this economy I don't think they are getting a flood of orders that is causing the delay. When a company messes up one order and tries to fix it, I would think they would try their best to get it to the customer as soon as possible, but they have delayed it even more than if I would have place a new order with Natuzzi. It has been almost a year since I have placed my original order and I still have not received everything.

You should all know that its been reported today that;
'Cary Benson has resigned as president of Natuzzi Americas, a spokeswoman for the Italy-based upholstery manufacturer confirmed. The company has not announced a replacement. Officials could not immediately be reached for comment.'

How convenient not having ANY Officials available for comment. Couldn't possibly be because Natuzzi have been reported to the SEc, and the US Dept of Justice and the UK's Office of Fair Trading, facing potential fines which could total up to $200m, and extradition and imprisonment for Italian directors? Resigning does not escape from a jail sentence or at least it shouldn't!

check this out, www.retail-week.com reported today;

December 4, 2009
Upmarket furniture retailer Natuzzi has denied involvement in alleged price fixing, for which it has been reported to the Office of Fair Trading.
The Italian-based retailer has been reported by independent Preston furniture retailer Cresta. The indie store claims Natuzzi tried to prevent it from selling goods more cheaply than Natuzzi does in its stores.

In a statement Natuzzi said: “The court will deal with all matters raised, including any allegations of resale price maintenance; allegations that Natuzzi are vigorously defending against.”

A Cresta spokesman said: “We will not be bullied into anything by Natuzzi. Consumers should be able to get the best price they can get.”
Cresta, which has been selling Natuzzi goods for 17 years, claims it has taped conversations with Natuzzi which it will pass to the court.

An email from Natuzzi sent on October 12, 2007, by then managing director Nick Moore who is now managing director of Conran Shop, which has been seen by Retail Week, said he wanted Cresta to operate a fixed price policy, with a maximum discount in Sale periods of 20%, to match its own policy.

The Natuzzi executive wrote:
“I would ask you do the same. It is obviously not in our interests to get into a price war!”

Cresta has been granted an injunction preventing Natuzzi from drawing on its bank guarantee at present.
The OFT would not comment and Moore was unavailable.

I purchased a corner unit from Natuzzi in 2009. Within two weeks the seating was sagging and everyone that visited commented on it. Natuzzi had said it was within tolerance so wouldn't do anything about it (bearing in mind it would have been imposible to sell on as secondhand due to it's condition, which made this item worthless) Subsequently I involved the Furniture Ombudsman who upheld my genuine complaint.
However. I am still waiting for a remedy from Natuzzi 6 months after the Furniture Ombudsman upheld my complaint. I have had absolutly no contact from staff at Natuzzi's head office despite numerous telephone calls to head office. That is until I wrote to the Furniture Ombudsman again. This did get up a telephone call a day later to say a technician would be in touch within days. However. I'm still waiting! Will this nightmare ever end? Will I ever have a decent piece of furniture for the £2500 it cost to purchase?

I have a two piece sofa that is poorly constructed from China. Frame breaks when 3 people of normal size sit on it. Constructed from particle board and 1 inch spruce strapping. Instead of using one solid piece, there will be two nailed together. What a sad sight to see. Fighting with Sears presently and did send off an email to this Italian firm but will likely not get a response. I have had 7 trips by service techs and will be getting a lot more visits yet. I have about 6 years of warrantee left and I pray that they do not extend it just to keep me happy.
