Gutter Installation
I scheduled a new gutter installation with Ned Stevens at the end of April. I called back May 3rd to get my installation date, they said I didn't have one. The agent said I SHOULD have them out the week of May 17th. I called back Monday May 24th due to no show, they said it wasn't three weeks yet and they SHOULD be out that week. I called back Monday May 28th and the agent said the SHOULD be out that week. It's now June 10th and i've been more than patient with them, but all I get is should should should. Their home office gives no straight answers and will not give you the number to the local contractors. This is all after paying $431 down payment. Now I have to call back to try and get my money back and how much you want to bet they're going to tell me i SHOULD get my money back, if they agree to give it back at all. This company felt like a scam from the instant I hung up that first day and I should have cancelled before it got this far. Do not use this Scam company, their BBB rating is fake and only applies to local contractors, not the company as a whole.
Desired outcome: Get my money back
gutter repair
Called ned stevens to fix a 30 foot gutter run, they told me they would be out in the next 2 days. After a week I called to see when they would be at out home to fix the gutter, the person on the phone told me they didn't say they would be here in the next 2 days... Basically calling me a liar. They said we were scheduled to come out today... The day I called... But it was already 2pm. Of course they didn't show up again! I called the next day and they said we were in line to get the job worked on... But I said when? They said very soon... Lol. Today I called my local handyman company and they are coming out tomorrow. I called ned stevens to cancel our appt. They were very adamant they would be out tomorrow with a 20% discount... Lol. Needless to say I passed on this as they had already wasted our of our time. Not trustworthy and they lie to you... Be careful with this company!
gutter install
The customer service team has lied to me everyday about when my gutters would be installed. When I call they said we will be there today and they never show up. Ned Stevens was quick to take my money but has not delivered on there promise for service. When I asked if they have a schedule and when I'm scheduled they said we will be in your area tomorrow but they can even give me a window of time. Here is an example I called this morning at 9:30am on Tuesday Aug 7, 2018 and have been calling every day to be told we are taking care of you ASAP we will be there this afternoon. Well as I expected no one has showed up. They need to provide customers with an appointment and stick to it they should have been able to tell me a day and time when they would be here like between the hours of 1 and 4pm or 9am and noon. I can't imagine how they have any repeat business with this type of or lack of service. I guess when a company is around 50 years service suffers. So here is how it started I called to get gutters in stalled on an outdoor kitchen I had built the tech showed up a few days later only to tell me he didn't want to do the install he wanted me to make adjustments to my underground drains! WHAT? All he needed to do was run the gutter down spout to the cement block that was placed under the spot he was running the gutter down drain. So he left and told me I needed to reschedule. Now I'm in the Net Stevens twilight zone of no service. I went ahead and made an adjustment to my underground ground drains to allow the gutter down spout to fit in thinking and hopefully it will meet Ned Stevens tough standards. Lol, I called back a day later to request them to come back and now I'm just being lied to every day. I just want my gutters or a full refund so I can find another company that cares about customer service and Ned Stevens will never hear from me again.

Badgering
Ned Stevens cleaned my gutters last summer. It was the first time I used them, and their work was at best adequate, and overpriced. But, what infuriated me was the claim at the end of the work that my gutters really needed to be replaced. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my gutters, and I declined their offer. Since then I have received emails and multiple phone calls "following up" on the problem they found, urging me to hire them to replace the gutters. I just got off the phone with the most recent offer, and I assured them that I still didn't need gutters, and if I did I definitely wouldn't contract the work with them.
Bottom line...if you let these guys onto your property, be prepared for a hard sales pitch for work that doesn't need to be done. Ned Stevens will never do work for me again!
Yes. They did that to me. I wish I had read your review. I caught the worker red handed when he tried to loosen the screws with a power screw driver, so that the gutter pipe would appear to sag and used that as an excuse to replace
Gutter replacement
This company was hired to replaced my outdated gutters that were functioning at about 85% efficiency. When they completed job (which they began at 6:30am) the gutters were functioning at about 50% efficiency. They actually made the problems worse and created new problems. When I called them, they said I would need to call a roofer to fix a major blunder they created! None of the workers bothered to tell me that they saw the problem and that I would need a roofer! They also neglected to put flashing where needed. That became an extra $300 fee. These guys are NOT TO BE TRUSTED! Its a scam! This "job" occurred on 10/1/15 I would at the very least, be reimbursed for the extra work I now need to pay a roofer to correct.
Performed work without permission
Company put me on a automatic cleaning schedule and they just came to clean gutter without a confirmation in email or by phone. Then they send an invoice saying the work was ALREADY performed and expected payment. I had explained politely that I had sold the house and they cleaned the gutters after i transferred title.
I refunsed and the agent became hosttile and demanded payment. I see all the emails that they sent and frankly with all that was going on, I had forgotten to cancel.
Needless to say they have a decepotive business model and they have lost me as a customer forever.

service and billing
they keep comingin out and charging you even after you ask them to stop.
if you send email asking to stop, they conviently say they did not get the email.
this is a rip off and i would NOT suggest to anyone to use them

Incomplete job
Contracted Ned to clean my gutters on 4000sqft home. When they finished they left all the debris on my back deck. My wife told the field supervisor who moved it to the front of our house with no bags. My town does not allow curbside debris so we called them to complain and have them return to at least bag the debris as well as take it away. They came back once but did not bring any bags so they left. We then got cold weather and they were unable to return. After 3 calls the service dept said the debris was not from the gutters and they would not be removing it. There customer service is a joke as all th try to do is upsell services and get long term commitments for gutter cleaning. The service rep offered me a $25.00 voucher for future services, I laughed as I would NEVER use this company again. When they were smaller and ownership was involved they we're a much nicer and better company.

Constant telemarketing calling
We've had Ned Stevens come and do our gutters for 5-6 years. On the positive side, they have done an efficient and good job even though they are here for only about 15 minutes and are pricey. But their constant telemarketing is annoying. Today, my wife received a call at home and e-mailed me to make sure I paid the bill. So I called Ned Stevens to find our the reason for their call. Sure enough, what they want is to have a spend money on gutter replacements. It is not enough that for at least five consecutive years I have rejected their "estimates" for gutter replacements as well as the purported need. Their calls have often been modestly belligerent in tone, suggesting that I do not know what I am talking about and that I must defer to them as the gutter experts. It is always the same exact purported need and location -- even long after I fixed the gutters myself and they no longer dripped. And you just can't get them to stop calling - they call after every visit using an auto dialer until they get you.
They also keep raising their prices, just for gutter cleaning.
The difficulty is that this call behavior has been repeated, over and over, after each and every service call. Every time I call to make an appointment, there is a sales push to get the gutters replaced; on each such call, your representative has suggested that I do not understand the issues; each time I respond with the same rejection of Ned Stevens' offer and point out that I fully understand the issues; and after each visit, there is another set of the same calls with exactly the same pattern. Today, I asked to be placed on your internal "do not call" list and I want that "do not call" list to be a PERMANENT feature of my account. Thank you!
Wrong Size Gutter Installed
Installed the wrong size gutter. insisted there was only one size gutter, even after they removed the old damaged gutters that were the right size. It was clear they did not carry the size gutter we needed and they should have been honest and told us they could not do the job. They returned our complaint call to tell us, sorry and they would give us a discount on future services. Now have gutters that are too small on the house and they look ridiculous. I will have to redo the gutters and pay twice.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Hired them to clean gutters on first and second story in Fall 2011. They cleaned the first floor and shot all the debris down the leaders and into the tubes that are in the ground to carry water away from the house. When I inspected their performance, I saw that the tubes were jam packed with debris. I am unable to check the second story. I called them back to clean out the debris. I was unable to be here for when they came back, but they said that they cleaned the gutters again, but they didn't clean out the debris. Now I have to hire someone to dig out the debris in the tubes. Also, on the receipt which is computer generated, stated that I need new gutters, (for $1300) and that the angles were wrong. This receipt was generated at their office prior to them seeing my house! They are apparently scam artists looking to rip people off. Finally, after telling them I do not need their services ever again, they keep calling and hanging up the phone when I answer.
Not a company to be trusted
I was on a fixed schedule for work to be completed, after the last visit I noticed that certain gutters ( the ones located higher on my home ) had not been cleaned, when my next scheduled cleaning was done, I stayed home to see exactly the level of work done, the crew arrived, one stayed in the truck ( it was a cold day ) one took a ladder & cleaned only the lower gutters, left a bag of leaves on the curb smaller than a tall kitchen garbage bag, & left, total time beginning to end twelve minutes, When I called to complain they told me the crew two guys, one sat in the warm truck, had been there & done the sevice, when I told them what went down & that I had the bag of debis to prove my case they told me the crew came, the JOB was completed & I was responsible for a bill in access of $130.00, they are RIP OFF ARTISTS, not a company to be trusted, my advice use a local company that does the actual work & stands behind it.
I have a very difficult time believing your review. I get the feeling you are perhaps a competitor looking to give us a bad reputation. We do guarantee EVERY job we perform, 100%. If you would contact us at nedcust@nedstevens.com I would be happy to review your actual account, your history, and have a QC Manager at your home to meet with you. We take our job extremely seriously, and any crew who performed work like you described would be immediately terminated. Every employee goes through rigorous training and each is hand selected for this job -- the rest go to work for our competition. Again, if you truly are a customer, let us know and we will figure the entire thing out ASAP.
Incomplete gutter cleaning
Like so many other people have complained, Ned Stevens does not clean the top gutters. After the latest cleaning that happened in March (well after the leaf falling season), I noticed that the top gutter was full and overflowing and the bottom gutter was clean. I called to get service and the Ned Stevens person claimed that the clog was caused by new debris. Interesing how clogging debris supposedly collected only in the top gutter, while the lower gutter is clean.
I insisted on a service call, but they were not willing to do it. They said the gutters will be cleaned on their next visit.
I told them that if they do not send someone immediately to redo the job, I would cancel my prepaid service with them. The Ned Stevens person raised her voice and said "I will not be talked to that way". I ended my conversation and proceeded immediately to cancel the service with the help of my credit card company. Ned Stevens tried to call again, but I don't want to deal with poor workmanship and unprofessional people.
I handled this account personally and this is 100% untrue, as such I am sorry for my tone below, but this review is very disturbing.
First of all, the young lady on the phone NEVER ONCE raised her voice. All calls are recorded and we have the proof. She was honest and fair, and eventually had to defend herself from an extremely “aggressive” person (which is the nicest way to describe this customer). NOBODY has the right to speak to a customer service representative in the manner he did, and she was, correctly, defending herself by saying she doesn’t deserve to be spoken to in that manner. I am proud of her for not just letting someone speak to her in the manner he was speaking. If you want to know the facts, CONTACT ME AT NEDCUST@NEDSTEVENS.COM, AND I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SEND YOU THE ACTUAL RECORDING OF THE CALL. YOU CAN HEAR THE PROOF FOR YOURSELF.
As for the cleaning, we clean, flush and inspect all gutters and leaders. This customer lives in an area with woods all around his home. His gutters were last cleaned on March 25.
He says in his review that he noticed the problem in March, however he never contacted us to report the problem until June 2? Why did he not call us in March, April or May when it rained if he had this problem all that time? The reason is simple: the gutters were not clogged until after the Spring debris fell in mid-late May, and the customer needed a cleaning (like everyone else). Why were the top gutters dirty? Because they are the top gutters – they collect the debris that lands on the roof and gets washed into the gutters.
Nevertheless, in spite of his “aggressiveness”, I personally offered 3 options 1) move up his June cleaning to ASAP, 2) come back and clean as an extra cleaning for free, 3) have a QC Manager out to inspect and take pictures. With me, he refused all 3. I outright asked “what can I do to make you happy?” His response was that he wanted his plan cancelled, and has now chosen to go to the internet to complain.
Interestingly, we had been cleaning this customer’s gutters for years, and he has never levied a complaint once. Why this time? Because the debris fell early -- something he refuses to understand.
So everyone who reads this review knows what we are seeing every day, I have attached pictures of debris found in gutters in May. The house in this picture was cleaned in March also, and claimed that the gutters were overflowing in the rain in May. After seeing these pictures, the customer learned about what had recently fallen, and thanked us for our quick response.
We are A+ rated by the BBB. If we make a mistake, we admit it. We work very hard to make people happy because we love what we do and we have a passion for gutters. We are here to earn your respect, so contact us any time to discuss any questions or comments you may have.
unnecesary service calls
ned stevens employes telephone sales people. once you use them they will constantly call to persuade you that u need additional service. smooth talking sales people get u to agree for service calls.they record all their conversations and use it against u. beware this amoey driven operation and its tour money they want.

While I am sorry that any customer is ever upset, this is absolutely not true. We had 2 separate and distinct conversations with this customer where he clearly authorized service. All we did was EXACTLY what he asked us to do. ALL COMPANIES record calls for Quality Assurance. It is instant replay. We know exactly what was discussed with the customer -- which protects BOTH the business AND the customer. The facts are the facts. If anyone would like to hear the 2 calls, please call and ask for the office manager, and I will send you the calls to hear. You can be the judge. As for the telephone staff, all we do is offer services that are necessary for proper maintenance. Every customer decides if they want our offered services. If they don't want them, we don't provide them. If they do want them, we do provide them. It's really that simple. When offered the call for his review, this customer declined to hear it. Why? Again, anyone who would like to hear it can simply call us at 800.542.0267 and ask for the manager, and we will let you be the judge.
Telemarketing
Don't give them your number. They won't stop calling you to get more business even though they are not good. They will claim to clean your gutters for cheap, then try to up sell you for new gutters. If you call another local verified good gutter company, you will find that Ned Stevens did a horrible job on your gutters.
They will keep calling you claiming they are returning a missed call based on caller id.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am sorry you are upset. We have tried using every 'gutter caulk' on the market. If we could caulk every leaky gutter, we would do it. The problem is that it does not work, and we end up coming back time and time again to re-seal. It's like putting tape on a dusty table-- it will never hold. We only fix things the right way, and when it comes to leaking miters, unfortunately that means they have to be replaced. I assure you that we would make much more money in sealing everyone's leaky miters with a quick fix. But if I can't guarantee it, I don't do it. As for service plans, yes we offer them to all customers as a matter of routine, as it is what is best for them to avoid gutter problems. However, not every person wants one. I am sorry if you think we are being too assertive in doing so. We take this stuff pretty seriously and we feel it is our job to teach people what we have learned over the course of 47 years of only cleaning gutters. Again, I am very sorry for upsetting you!
I am afraid this is no bogus complaint, at least as it pertains to trying to sell customers additional work. Ned Stevens telemarketing is aggressive in my opinion. While I have no complaints about the actual cleaning work performed, Ned doesn't like that fact that I am not on a service plan. And at each cleaning request, I have to get the service plan pitch when I call to schedule, and then they call me up after to make the same pitch despite me repeatedly telling them I'll call when I determine the gutters need a cleaning. Also, because my gutters drip at the corners, each time they clean, I get a call that my gutters need to be replaced. Never-mind that these gutters are relatively new, and there is such a thing as "gutter caulk", Ned keeps telling me the only sure-fire way to stop the leaks is to pay approx $2, 000 to have the relatively new gutters replaced, and then Ned will gladly guarantee the gutters against future leaks. Gutter caulk, Ned says, doesn't last. Well, that's true enough, but gutters don't last forever either, and it's sure a hec of a lot cheaper to goop up the corners than it is to drop 2 large to stop some dripping. So Ned, since you read these complaints, you can read my typing: I am growing very weary of running the sale pitch gauntlet when I call for service, and I seriously thinking 2010 was your last year servicing my house.
This is a bogus complaint from a competitor. We have been in business since 1965, we are A+ rated by the BBB, and nominated for the Honor Roll on Angie's List. We report gutter problems that we find and we call every customer whose call we missed. We take gutters seriously so that you don't have to. I challenge this "person" (who has only ever registered one complaint, in OUR name) to call me.

I received this today (copy and paste verbatim): "Ned---We received excellent service today--- very professional, thorough, and friendly. We are very satisfied with your work!" I received this earlier (copy and paste) "Your level of customer service is EXCELLENT! Thank you!" And recently received this (copy and paste verbatim): "Thank you for your commitment to great service - that's why I never hesitate to renew my contract! The leaves are all down now, so when your team is in this vicinity, I would really appreciate it if they could give the gutters a final clear out." I received this one a few weeks ago (copy and paste verbatimredacted to remove employee name and cust address): "Today I signed up for service to my gutters at 2 locations (the operator)was very nice, courteous, informative and professional. He is a VERY good representative for your company." And, I received this recently (copy and paste verbatim) " your company is excellent, especially for a seemingly impersonal industry where you never talk to or even see the service tech, but its always good, clean, & efficient. Gentleman on phone is always pleasant and gets the job done. Thanks so much. As long as that continues, I have no reason to go elsewhere. Happy Holidays!"
We know it is not possible to make every single customer happy, but we absolutely TRY. I am sorry each of you are upset, but if you call and ask for the manager, I will figure it all out once and for all.
ned stevens gutter company is the worst company when it comes to customer service. after installing a l shaped gutter, the bend has leaked since the 2 month mark. i had called 3-4 times with no call backs. i have spoke to someone in the office in fairfield nj, and was told someone would call me back, didnt happen. i gave up and figured them just to be the lowest company, one that installs and leaves you hanging. Another contractor came and said the gutter was at a poor angle, had to add 6 nails, to lift the gutter, and said i should simply replace. I finally had someone call back, and plays the game, oh its been too long. i say, what happened to the first 4 times i called with no call back, he says we dont show records, and can't replace. So if you are looking for a quick fix, and left with problems, this is the company to deal with. This is the type of company who wants in and out as fast as possible and to collect your money, its been leaking ever since.
Did work without my permission and ruined gutter guards
I called to have gutters cleaned once. It didn't look like they did much, but I wasn't home when they came. When I initially scheduled first cleaning, they asked if I'd like to be put on a service plan. I said "no", just come out once. One day I happened to be working from home and was conducting a conference call. I heard noise outside and saw Ned Stevens guys at my house. I never asked them to come, but couldn't go outside because I was on a business call. I watched the guys from the window. One guy was on the roof with a hose, just trickling water down the roof, while the other guy stood on a ladder just looking around my property. When he saw me looking, he was startled and started to make it look like he was working. I watched him push his hand into my gutter guards and throw the debris on my patio. Had I not been in the middle of conference call, I would have gone outside to stop them. I then looked at my gutters and saw they had damaged almost every gutter guard on my house, bending the metal up, so now they let leaves in! I called Ned Stevens and explained that i am not paying for a cleaning I DID NOt ask for and that they are lucky I am not suing them to replace all the guttter guards on my house. The woman from Ned Stevens INSISTED I asked them to come again and I am POSITIVE I said NO. She was extremely rude and said you have to pay REGARDLESS. NO interest in the damage to my gutters. They have continued to bill me. If they send it to collections I will sue for damages to replace gutters on my house which will cost MUCH mor than the $100 they are asking for services I did not request.

that was what I had suspected when I had them to my premises
Crew came to clean gutters and thought no one was home. spent 5 minutes on roof and left, were supposed to clean all gutters and flush with garden hose, never even turned water on. Wife was home and saw the whole thing. they came back to finish job and were kind enough to not charge for the first visit, lolol
This company purposely damages gutters or roof tiles so they can offer you repair from them, or someone they are tied in with. They are complete crooks! Most of the workers pretend to do the job, while they are really lurking around your back yard. And there was also an older man who would tell you that you have a leak, when all it was, (((( trickling water)))))) Do not trust this company. And they also take advantage of the elderly as well. SHAME ON YOU!
Too many complaints to ignore..."if it walks like a duck, smells like a duck, etc., " CAVEAT EMPTOR !
I handled your complaint personally. I even called you recently, and you never returned my call (why?)
We are A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau. We only do work that was authorized. For Quality Assurance, all calls are recorded. We would be happy to provide you with your authorization if you would like to hear it. I have listened to the call and your service was CLEARLY authorized.
Having reviewed your account, it appears that you authorized 2 services. The first one you admit you authorized. So why have you refused to pay for that one as well?
We work hard for our customers to ensure happiness. However, some people you can't make happy, even when you do exactly what they asked.
stop kept claiming about the rate as A +. I am another customer after looking into this review. YOur big mouth sales rep kept talking potential customer and listened not to consumers concern that THERE MUST BE SOMEONE ON SITE TO SEE THE JOB DONE. HER BIG MOUTH JUST OPENED AND SAID, ' THERE IS NO NEED FOR ANYONE TO BE ONSITE. HAHAHAH SUCH A CHEAP STATEMENT TO MAKE ON BEHALF OF CUSTOMER FAILING TO KNOW YOUR STANCE TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF YOUR "VALUAED CUSTOMER. On that day of claimed service not only we were at home but no signs of any one appeared to the premises to do the job. More evidently the garden hose which it could alert us for those in the house if it was turned on outside, has no sign of being used.
Ned Stevens stop claiming and deceiving us. If I had read these reviews earlier I would not had fallen victims of a cheap game.
contractor fail to appear in a timely manner and claim to have work which they have not done.
Enclosed is an excerpt of a recent letter to Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning:
I made an appointment wit NS to come to my house and clean the gutters by Mid-December ´08, so that the gutters would be clean before the first snowfall on December 19. However, NS did not arrive prior to the first snow, nor did they telephone me to notify me that they would not come. As a result, with ample snow and ice threatening to destroy my gutters, I contacted a local handyman during a thaw in February. He did an excellent job, fixed the gutters, and cleaned them thoroughly. The very next day, on 18 February, while no one was home, a NS crew must have come along, because there was an invoice left on my steps. In it, NS claimed that they had cleaned my gutters, when, in fact, they had not (since they had been cleaned the previous day). So, not only had they failed to appear in the agreed period, but they also claimed to have done a job when they had not.
Like most homeowners, I am tired of contractors fail to either show up at the appointed time, or call to notify us about delays or failure to appear as agreed -- and then have the temerity to browbeat their clients.
In your latest invoice, I note that you threaten to release “personal information” to a collection agency, and to refer the case to your “legal department”. Fine, but if you take this route be prepared -- as I warned your customer representative when I spoke to him -- for a long, drawn out process.

I impressed by the quality of information on this website. There are a lot of good resources here. I am sure I will visit this place again soon. Gutter Repair
While we are sorry you are upset, our prices have to be fair to BOTH of us. We cannot afford to lose money on a job, and still provide the level of quality that comes with our 48 years of experience and A+ Rating. I think you would agree that price is important, but quality is everything. Our price is commensurate with our level of quality. While other companies clean gutters for less money, they are not insured, they do not guarantee their work, and their quality is awful. Again, we are sorry to have upset you. We are just being fair to everyone involved.
i have been using NS for the last four years. I scheduled the spring cleaning a couple of weeks or so ago. A couple of days before they were supposed to come out, i got a call and the rep told me they had to increase the fee by 80%! NICE JOB NS! YOU JUST LOST A LOYAL CUSOMTER!
We can't make everyone happy, but we can try (and yes every single gutter cleaner is an employee--not independent contractor--and every one is clearly documented). What I said is 'what does it matter that they don't speak English. Most of our grandparents didn't speak English either, and they not only worked hard, but were APPRECIATED by the people who they worked for).
I received this review recently (copy and paste verbatim): "Ned---We received excellent service today--- very professional, thorough, and friendly.
I am seeing a horrendous pattern of Ned Stevens being a fraud...If you search Ned Stevens all you find ins mincontent and the same sad sorry story...STAY AWAY!
Ned Stevens is cheaper than most because they use illegals that don't speak English. Then when you tell Ned that you don't do business with companies that hire illegals he asks "what does it matter?"
A real arrogant, aggressive man that owns this place. He's a jerk and I would NEVER use them again
Tonya, you asked to be put on an automatic service schedule, which is different from a service plan. The service plan is pre-paid, while the automatic schedule is a bill at the time of service plan. I have listened to the call, and the service was in fact clearly authorized. We were only doing what you asked of us.
We are A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau and A/B+ rated on Angie's List. This is not due to luck, but due to hard work and striving to get better every single day. We have been in business since 1965 and want to earn our customer's trust and respect.
That being said, with regard to Michele, I am at a loss. Our Quality Control department investigated your complaint and found that the crew serviced the wrong home. While mistakes are a part of life, the crew was immediately taken off the road and suspended indefinitely, unpaid of course.
Our offer of service was an offer of FREE service. In other words, as an apology for our mistake, we were willing to do work for you for FREE.
We have been servicing customers for 45 years, and we work very hard to make everyone happy. You let us know what we can do for you to make up for our mistake, and make you HAPPY!
It is disgusting to keep hearing the claims about how good and reputable your company is, and how long it has been established. By the number of years ned stevens floats in the community, then all these complaints, simple complaints of falsely claimed of job done should not have a pattern to happen to one customer to the next for all these years! And I am one of them and you would know who am I because I am a person with intergrity. To make everyone happy which ned stevens does not have to except to be honest and stick to their promises, just do the job and not to claim jobs that had not been done. You think all these people can't get a lawyer to file a legal suit? You know I am inn the midst of discussing the matters with my lawyer right now and you know whom am i. I am extremely disgusted with the practice and though you called to say want to resolve the issue amiably. What is amicably? To hire your poor crews to come back again to do the xxx job and I pay you? A so call make it right for excellent customer services for a previous job that you had claimed it was done? So new stevens looks good for customer resolution for a make up service? I am disgusted to let your crews to come back to my yard to kill my plants and pretended they were working hard. Let me warn your company, enough is enough!
I received a bill today claiming they (Ned Stevens) cleaned my gutters on 3/10/10. First of all i was home that day and nobody cleaned any gutters. Second the gutters were overflowing with debris it was clear they were never cleaned. After my husband argued for 1/2 hour with no results- we told them to stop by and look at the gutters. They did and then claimed the worker must have went to the wrong house. They then asked if i wanted to still have my gutters cleaned. I said NO WAY!
In addition the picture they claimed the worker took of the clean gutters was unable to be found once they showed up at my house. Sure there never was one!
I have also had a problem with Ned Stevens in West Chester, PA. They called me on the phone to ask if I wanted to be on a service plan. I VERY CLEARLY stated I was not at all interested in being on a service plan. I told the gentleman that they could call back in late Fall to see if I was interested in their service. The gentleman continued to talk about what would happen with a service plan if I desired one--I listened but NEVER agreed to be on a plan. Ned Stevens workers just showed up one day (about a month later) and claimed to clean the gutters (which I had cleaned about two weeks prior) and left a bill. I refuse to pay for a service I did not request and a service that I had done two weeks before they claimed to have done the cleaning. Ihave sent a letter staing my position and called several times to speak to customer service. Ned Stevens is still sending a bill--I consider it harrassment at this point since they have a recording that clearly states I did not want the service and signed no contract. Do not use this company!
I handled your account personally. You called us 3 times to see when we would arrive, and you were SPECIFICALLY told we were coming late due to the snow! You knew in late December that you were on an automatic schedule and that we would be there as soon as the weather permitted. Additionally, we sent you a letter, explaining that we would be late, and the reason we would be late (weather). Yet you never cancelled with us when you hired someone else. So, we did the work as promised. The consumer affairs board agreed with us that we did everything we could have done, and in fact convinced you to pay us for the work perfomed. We are an honest, hard working, family owned company. We have been in business, working 7 days a week, for 44 years. I don't know what more we could have done for you to make you happy.
Service
Terrible Company! They were very nice over the phone, but I had to call them FOUR times after they didnt show for an appointment to get them to show up! And when they came, they only cleaned gutters on 3 sides of my house and left food trash all over the lawn. Then they billed me for more than the price I had agreed upon. Beware!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
We do not and would never hire a "day worker." Our staff is THOROUGHLY trained and we have full time QC Managers whose job it is to inspect jobs that are done to make sure the crew did a great job. We can certainly put you on our "do not call" list, and we won't call again. However, if we did appear, there was a reason. We only perform work which was authorized. While there is a chance you forgot that you pre-scheduled your next service (as most customers do for convenience), there is no chance we would ever forget-- it is our job to remember! We are A+ rated by the BBB for a reason -- we work very hard to make all our customers happy. Please call us today if you wish to be taken off our call list, as the anonymous nature of your complaint makes it impossible to locate your account. Lastly, remember that the review on top that started this whole chain of comments, was a FAKE POST from a competitor.
This company is hoaky in its business dealings and continue to call with bothersome unwelcomed calls. They contiue to call you even after you tell them to lose your number. They cleaned my gutters and then sent a cleaning crew without permission on later date. Terrible customer service and rude personnel. They try to intimidate into paying a bill you did not order. Their field personnel did not speak english and wore no uniforms. Look like they hire day workers and not trained personnel.

We work very hard 7 days a week to make our customers HAPPY. Our QC department works hard to make every job great. We have earned our ratings. Don't let some phony customers stop you from hiring the hardest working, highest rated gutter company.
they keep saying they have a great rating with the BBB it does not look like it from all of this I am reading. I was going to call them but after reading this I think I will call someone else
This is a non-verified complaint. It is a competitor. Why don't you focus on doing a great job for people, and maybe you won't have to waste your time making up phony complaints!
Definitely from Garden State. The guy put in a comment into a post bashing Garden State saying that they were great and now he is bashing a gutter cleaning company. Definitely fishy!
