To whom this may concern.
I am honestly highly dissapointed and I am considering in taking further legal actions for NEGLIGENCE!
My father was admitted on the 1st of J with the symptoms of short breathe, pain to the leg and chest, sugar levels high at 13-15.
Tests were done in the ER and which led to his admission which concluded that he had blood clots in his lungs and leg. The ER doctor appointed Dr. Botha as his physician.
He is been there for the 3rd day now and only when my mother complained to the doctor (who actually turned his back on him as his patient while he was doing his rounds) he then only attended to his health and only at that moment prescribed him medication.
Two questions:
1. What is the procedure of a doctor checking their patient? Does the nurse on duty assist the doctor?
2. What is the procedure of the DR. giving information to close family members? Should the family follow up to the doctor or should the doctor make a follow up to the patients family?
I am utterly disgusted by this kind of treatment. As a paying patient WE SHOULD NOT BE TREATED IN THIS MANNER. Also we shouldn't be the one's waiting for feedback from the doctor for more than 24hours. It's UNACCEPTABLE!
I will be lodging a complaint to the Dept of Health and taking further legal actions, because my conclusion is that this is not something new and who else's health are you putting in danger?!
Regards.
