Mixed Experiences with NHLSHOP.com
As someone deeply passionate about hockey and NHL merchandise, I understand the excitement of finding the perfect gear to support your favorite team. However, based on the reviews from various customers, NHLSHOP.com seems to offer a mixed experience. While some customers have highlighted positive interactions with customer service representatives like Sheilah and Cristin, others have expressed frustration with issues like incorrect orders, poor quality products, and challenging return processes. It's disheartening to hear about instances where orders were delayed, items arrived damaged, or customer service was lacking. As a fellow hockey enthusiast, I empathize with the disappointment that can arise from such experiences. When considering shopping at NHLSHOP.com, it's essential to weigh these varied perspectives and proceed with caution to ensure a satisfactory shopping experience for your NHL merchandise needs.
Quick and easy
Ordered a womens and mens customized Leafs 3rd jersey. NHL.com Canada said it would be shipped within 4 to 5 weeks. Got it in 1 week of ordering. Customization looks awesome with the felt like lettering. Also, noted this was during a free customization promotion. Was scared after seeing bad reviews, maybe I just got lucky.
Amazing service!
Wow is all I can say! I ordered a customised Pens hoodie for my husband's birthday which is 2 days before Christmas (ordered Dec 8) It arrived in a little over a week! Then my husband opened it and it was too big (I ordered the wrong size) Well spoke with customer service and while they couldn't take the hoodie back as it was customised they refunded me THE ENTIRE AMOUNT OF THE HOODIE! No questions asked, cannot recommend NHLshop.com enough!

We needed our package for a birthday party tonight and paid extra for shipping to get it here early it didn't come. I called and talked to Brianna and she was amazing they totally refunded my shipping amount back to me! I love these guys! That is the best customer service I have had in a long time. No questions asked just refunded my shipping back to me of $25! You guys are Awesome! Thanks to Brianna and the people she works with! VERY SATIFIED customer in Utah!
Excellent!
We were leery of ordering through Shop. NHL because there were so many negative reviews. We ordered a specially made item on July 2nd and received it on July 19th. This is exceptionally great service for a speciality item. We have ordered from other sites and it has taken far longer to receive a generic item.
When there was a projected delay we were immediately informed and the item arrived exactly on the date promised.
My item was exactly as ordered. I am more than satisfied with this service.
I don't understand peoples complaints
I ordered a jersey on the 19th of Feb. And then I decided to view peoples feedback on this NHL site since it was my first time buying from them. I usually buy my gear at team la store or other stores. But viewing everybody else feedback on how BAD they were with their shipping and sending out the wrong item or size I started to worry. But with my tracking number I was able to track my item the whole time from Ohio. To Missouri. To bell ca. And finally Los Angeles... Great jersey. On time FedEx shipping. And I am just stoked on my item. Thanks to NHL.com..
Great service from NHL.com customer service regarding a delivery that was unfortunately damaged
Cristin rocks and Cristin provided excellent customer service!
I can judge that well, since I have been a customer advisor myself for decades and have also worked in different countries, such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as in the USA, on the east coast (Florida) and west coast (California).
Cristin mastered and completed this difficult matter to my best satisfaction, even though different countries with different times of the day were involved. In addition, language barriers had to be overcome. That's why I will be shopping at NHL.com again and will continue to do so!
To Cristin, please continue doing it the way you did it for me...
Best experience with fixing my situation!
I don't get the angry reviews... I know that I'd ordered a sweater jersey/paid for 3 day shipping and would have received it on time had the fed ex driver not been remiss and delivered it to my house instead of some other lucky, yet immoral persons house! Fed ex gave me the run around for a week, calling only to tell me they were still investigating the situation... So I suppose I do understand how people are getting frustrated with delivery services but nhl.com aren't the ones responsible for the actual delivery of our items... We pay nhl, they pay fed ex and at that point fed ex is responsible... Long story short I finally got the man on the phone to admit that the driver dropped my package at the wrong house and when he went back they denied ever getting a package at all... That's when I decided to call nhl customer service expecting to get the run around and instead I was connected with the first person who didn't make me feel like it was my fault, someone who took responsibility for the fed ex delivery drivers mistake, and someone who had a new item in the mail for me the following day... I was baffled and ever so grateful to finally have my problem acknowledged and fixed! Thank you nhl!
Poor Quality and Frustrating Customer Service - My Experience with NHLSHOP.com
Dealing with NHLSHOP.com has been quite the hassle, and I cannot recommend shopping with them. I purchased an expensive purse in early June 2014, only to receive an item with a poorly stamped team logo and a thin, poor quality leather strap. I tried to return the purse and ordered another one, hoping that it was just a fluke, but the process quickly became frustrating.
First, I did not receive any email notification that my order had shipped and had to contact customer service numerous times to figure out why. It turns out that my item was on backorder, which the company did not communicate to me at the time of purchase. Eventually, I received a shipping notification on September 18, 2014, and the new purse arrived with the exact same defects as the first one.
I called customer service again, requesting an RMA to return the item. Unfortunately, the process was not easy and involved eight phone calls over 16 days. I was finally able to speak with a supervisor named Karen H., who sent me a link for a PDF RMA file but forgot to attach it to the email. This led to numerous more calls and emails, all of which resulted in getting nowhere.
Even though Karen promised that a higher-up supervisor would contact me within 48 hours, nobody has reached out yet, and I still have no way of getting in touch with management. It's frustrating to feel like nobody cares about my experience, and I'm considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Ultimately, I regret buying a purse from NHLSHOP.com and will never shop with them again. It's a shame that a company would treat its customers so poorly and failing to communicate effectively.
NHLSHOP.com: Abysmal Service and Frustration - A Review
I had the misfortune of shopping at NHLSHOP.com, also known as shop.nhl.com, for the first time recently. I had hoped that my experience with this well-known company would be a pleasant one, but unfortunately that was not the case. My experience was so bad that I will not be returning to this store in the future.
As a new member, I was supposed to receive a 10% discount, but I never received it. I then ordered a jersey to give as a gift on December 2nd and expected to receive it by November 29th. Unfortunately, the store lost the jersey and was unable to locate it. I received no communication from the store regarding my proof of purchase, the jersey's location, or the reason for the delay. Instead, I had to call the store and speak with five different customer service agents, all of whom gave me different answers. The entire experience was frustrating, and the staff took no responsibility for the situation.
Despite my numerous phone calls and conversations with customer service representatives, the store failed to deliver any solutions to remedy the situation. All they offered me was the option of a refund, and when I asked to cancel the order, they were unable to do so because they had lost track of the jersey. Even speaking to the head supervisor did not help me get to the bottom of the issue.
Finally, after three weeks, I received my jersey. I chose to return it for a refund, but to my astonishment, it took four days for the warehouse to receive the package and over twenty days for me to get a refund on my visa. Despite numerous phone calls, the store was of no help in rectifying the situation. They were unable to tell me why I didn't receive an email or when I could expect my refund.
In summary, I had an extremely poor experience at NHLSHOP.com, and I would never order from this store again. I received abysmal service from the staff, and even the head supervisor was of no help. I advise others who are considering shopping at this store to think twice before doing so.
NHLSHOP.com's Customer Service is a Joke - Lack of Training and Inconsistent Products and Shipping
The customer service at NHLSHOP.com leaves a lot to be desired. In fact, it's more of a joke than anything else. Their representatives are incredibly unhelpful and seem to lack the necessary training to do their jobs effectively. I had ordered a Disney Calgary Flames hoodie on the 6th of November with expedited shipping so that I could receive it in time for my Thanksgiving trip. The hoodie was shipped by LaserShip, a courier service that has bad reviews. Even though USPS, UPS, and FedEx have no problems delivering to my military base, LaserShip did not bother to make any delivery attempts and simply sent the package back to the sender.
I contacted customer service regarding the issue and they refunded the expedited shipping and shipped another hoodie to me free of charge and with expedited shipping as well. Unfortunately, what I received two weeks later was a Blue Jackets hoodie with the Flames barcode on it. When I contacted customer service to inform them of the mistake, they were unhelpful and told me they couldn't issue me another hoodie. When I asked why, the representative conferred with his supervisor and told me that they do not send items three times if there is an error because it could happen again. This was extremely frustrating and confusing.
As a military base resident, I do not have access to a printer so I asked if there was a workaround. I suggested that they send me a new order of the same hoodie and include a return label for me to send the wrong one back. However, the representative said that he couldn't do that and my only options were to either go to the post office and pay out of pocket to return it or keep the wrong hoodie. He also suggested that I reorder it and that he'd make a "supervisor note" to honor the sale price I originally purchased it under.
As someone who has ordered from NHLSHOP.com for a long time, I am disappointed and frustrated by the lack of consistency and attention to detail in their production, distribution, and customer service. I think they need to focus on overhauling these areas and training their representatives more effectively. It's unacceptable.
Disappointing Experience with NHLSHOP.com: Incorrect Color Jersey and Poor Customer Service
I recently ordered a custom practice jersey for my son from NHLSHOP.com, and unfortunately, the experience was not a positive one. While the jersey was on sale and I was thrilled to get it, the one that arrived was blue instead of the red I had ordered. When I contacted the company via email, they confirmed that it was in stock but made no offer to replace it. I called them and was told they would check with the warehouse to make sure they sent me the correct item and that I would receive a confirmation number within 2-3 days.
However, despite their assurances, I did not receive any communication from NHLSHOP.com. I emailed them multiple times to follow up but was told the same thing each time without any progress being made. Eventually, I got fed up and called customer service once again to speak to a manager. Unfortunately, I was put on hold for 20 minutes and then disconnected twice before finally being able to talk to someone. She informed me that they do not have the red jersey in stock, even though it was still listed on their website for purchase at the time.
The whole ordeal was frustrating and disappointing, particularly because I had to pick my son up from school during one of the long hold times, and he now knows what his Christmas present was going to be--spoiling some of the surprise. Although I did receive a credit on my account after arguing with the manager, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth and I will not be ordering from them again. Overall, I wish I had found a different retailer to purchase from, and I would caution others to exercise caution when shopping with NHLSHOP.com.
Disappointing Customer Service and Mistakes at NHLSHOP.com: A Review
I recently ordered a Colorado Avalanche shirt for my sister's birthday from NHLSHOP.com. While I was excited to receive the item, it took quite a while for it to arrive, which was disappointing. When we finally received the shirt, we noticed that the logo on it wasn't correct. To our surprise, it was actually a Washington Nationals baseball team logo. We couldn't believe that this mistake could have gone unnoticed by quality control at Fanatics, the company behind NHLSHOP.com.
I contacted customer service via chat on the website, where I was asked if I wanted a replacement sent out. Although this seemed like an obvious solution, it was frustrating that it took so long to resolve the issue. The return fee was waived, which was a small gesture considering all the trouble we had to go through. However, I was not given any clear instructions on how to return the incorrect item or where to download the paperwork necessary. To make matters worse, it took three business days to ship out the replacement shirt, which arrived just as slowly as the first shipment.
Finally, when we received the correct item, there was no return label or paperwork in the package with the shirt. We had to contact customer service once again to explain the entire situation, at which point a return label was finally sent to us via email. The entire experience was exhausting and left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I will never order from NHLSHOP.com or Fanatics again. It's inexcusable for an official supplier of NHL merchandise to make such a mistake and provide such poor customer service.
In addition to the shipping and customer service issues, I also found the $50 price tag for the shirt ridiculous. The quality of the shirt was subpar, in my opinion, and was definitely not worth the high price. The only bright spot was that we eventually received the correct item, but it was not worth the hassle and frustration we had to endure to get there.
NHLSHOP.com Review: Frustrating and Unreliable - A Nightmare Shopping Experience
As someone who has recently tried to purchase a jersey from NHLSHOP.com (shop.nhl.com), I have to say that I had a terrible experience. In my opinion, it is highly recommended that you stay away from this website and consider other options to ensure a hassle-free purchase.
To start with, I ordered an NY Rangers Jersey for my boyfriend as a Christmas present in late November, ensuring that it would arrive in time. However, despite receiving the order a week later, I was shocked and disappointed to find out that it was the wrong jersey. When I reached out to the customer service team to exchange it for the right jersey in time for Christmas, I was greeted by a lady who was willing to help me out. She assured me that the issue would be resolved and even waived the shipping charges.
But then, two weeks passed, and I realized that the jersey had not even been shipped yet, and it was unlikely to arrive before Christmas. It was frustrating and upsetting, as I had made sure to place the order early to avoid such situations. When I called the customer service team again, this time talking to a different person, I was offered a customized premium jersey for the same price as the first one. However, she guaranteed a three-day delivery period, which I was hesitant to accept, given my previous experience.
Despite my reservations, I reluctantly agreed. Then, three days after the order, I inquired about the status of my order, only to be told that it hasn't even left the warehouse and would not arrive until the 27th, which doesn't help me at all. This was highly frustrating, given that NHLSHOP.com had already messed up my earlier order, and I was running out of options for Christmas presents. Though the customer service team offered me a chance to cancel my order, I had already missed the opportunity to order a new one from a different store.
In conclusion, my experience with NHLSHOP.com was nothing short of a nightmare. The customer service was subpar and inconsistent, and the shipping was highly unreliable. If you are considering purchasing from them, it would be better to find other options that offer a hassle-free experience. Personally, I would not recommend NHLSHOP.com to anyone looking for a reliable and stress-free shopping experience. Be cautious!
Disappointing Experience with Shop.NHL.com - Low Quality Edge Jersey and Poor Customer Service
I recently ordered a new Pens 3rd jersey from shop.nhl.com, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. As someone who already owns three authentic Pens jerseys made in Canada, I expected the same quality when ordering from the NHL's official site. However, I was disappointed to learn that all Edge jerseys are now manufactured in Indonesia, which is a noticeable downgrade in fabric quality, weight, fit, and feel.
Although the nameplate, numbers, and logo are nicely sewn on, the fabric itself is where the value used to be with Canadian-made Edge jerseys. When I brought this to their attention, I received a lame form email in response and only a $10 online coupon as compensation. For a non-refundable, non-returnable item that cost $359, this was highly disappointing.
Not to mention, I also encountered issues with the website itself. I signed up for an account to receive a 10% off first order coupon, but it didn't work when I clicked through. The item didn't ship within the promised 7 days either, and I never received a shipping notification - I had to log in and find it myself on my account page. Overall, the customer service approach was completely dismissive and unhelpful.
If you're interested in purchasing higher-dollar items from shop.nhl.com, I would advise against it. You'll regret it if you're used to the quality of previous Edge jerseys, and the "fan advocates" in customer service don't actually do anything for us fans. Instead, I recommend supporting a local shop in your team's city. Overall, I can't recommend shop.nhl.com, especially for those looking for authentic quality jerseys.
Disappointing experience with shop.nhl.com: A review of NHLSHOP's poor customer service and order fulfillment
I recently had an experience with NHLSHOP.com (shop.nhl.com) that left me extremely dissatisfied. While I was excited to take advantage of a great deal offered by Discover in May - 50% off shop.nhl.com gift cards through reward points - things quickly took a turn for the worse.
My first order was for a Jersey that was unfortunately quite dirty upon arrival. However, the RMA process was handled well and I received a full refund plus a coupon code for 20% off my next purchase after speaking to a manager. My second order was a custom premier jersey that I decided to cancel in order to upgrade to an Edge jersey with the 20% off coupon code. Unfortunately, the refund for these orders took a month or two to process and I never received my physical gift cards despite having received confirmation emails and calling multiple times to request them.
Months went by with no further updates until I discovered my third order, which totaled around $575, had not gone through despite having used eCertificates and a store credit from my previous orders. To make matters worse, my physical gift cards had been thrown away and NHLSHOP claimed to have no record of what was owed to me besides the eCertificates I still had access to. I spent months calling and waiting for callbacks, only to never actually hear back from anyone.
Ultimately, I settled for what they had already refunded me in store credit plus a $20 apology credit, which amounted to $356. I decided to try placing another order with the new promo code they offered me for 30% off, but unfortunately, the jersey I added for myself ended up being out of stock and the shipping address wasn't updated despite my having called to request it on the same day as the order was placed.
Overall, my experience with shop.nhl.com was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Despite initially being excited about the deal, the months of promises, delays, and unfulfilled orders left me feeling like I would never be able to actually receive the jerseys I wanted, even in time for playoffs. While NHLSHOP did handle the initial RMA process well, their customer service beyond that was extremely lacking and I would not recommend this site to others.
NHLSHOP.com Review: Disappointing Customer Service and Damaged Goods
I placed an order on NHLSHOP.com (shop.nhl.com) back in November, and it still hasn't arrived. To make matters worse, the jersey that did arrive was damaged, with red logo color smeared on the white fabric. I sent photos and countless emails to customer service, but have yet to receive a replacement or even a tracking number for the reship request. The most recent email I received stated that I should allow 7-10 business days from 12/15/2010 for the reship request to be processed. It's now 1-2-2011 and I still haven't heard anything.
To be fair, I did receive an email from customer service on 12/28/2010 apologizing for the delay in shipping my replacement jersey. However, I still haven't received it and am starting to lose hope. I don't think it's fair that I should have to pay for the return label given that the item arrived damaged, but I did ask if they would be willing to credit the damaged goods or send a replacement jersey at no cost with no deduction from my return credit. Unfortunately, I haven't heard back from customer service on that either.
Overall, my experience with NHLSHOP.com has been disappointing to say the least. I understand that delays and mistakes can happen, but the lack of communication and resolution is unacceptable. I hope that they can rectify my situation soon so that I can finally receive my order.
Beware of NHLSHOP.com: Beyond Terrible Customer Service and Shady Shipping Methods
If you're looking to shop at an online store that sells NHL merchandise, beware of NHLSHOP.com, also known as shop.nhl.com. Despite claims of being the official NHL shop, this website is not actually run by NHL but by a supplier called Fanatics. If you're thinking of purchasing any items from this store, be aware that their customer service is beyond terrible.
If you need any proof, take it from someone who ordered a jersey from this website in early December with the promise of delivery before Christmas. Just two days later, the delivery date was pushed back to December 15th, which should undoubtedly set off alarm bells for any customer. If you receive a similar message, it's best to cancel your order and look elsewhere. However, the customer in this case thought nothing of it when, on December 16th, they received an email containing a FedEx tracking number. Surely the package was on its way and would arrive in time for Christmas…right?
Unfortunately, Fanatics shipped the package using FedEx SmartPost, a method which takes a painfully long time to deliver. Essentially, FedEx drops the package off at the nearest USPS location, which is then responsible for making the delivery. This leaves the customer with little to no actual tracking information, and in this case, it took over 25 days for the package to finally arrive. The estimated delivery date for SmartPost is normally between 2-7 business days, but no guarantees can be made.
When the customer checked the tracking status on Monday, they noticed that the page read "Label Created" rather than "In Transit", indicating that the order was simply sitting in a warehouse somewhere. After speaking with several customer service representatives, the customer finally got in touch with a manager who assured them that the order would be picked up that day and arrive on Friday. However, the package itself didn't arrive until December 27th, and was later rescheduled for December 29th. By this point, it had been nearly a month since the order was originally placed.
It's important to note that Fanatics can be incredibly deceiving, as they'll often advertise using FedEx but then switch to the less reliable SmartPost method. In conclusion, it's highly recommended to avoid shopping at NHLSHOP.com or shop.nhl.com. Don't let their claim as "official" NHL merchandise suppliers fool you, as their sub-par customer service and shady shipping methods make purchasing from them a risky gamble.
Absolutely fabulous! Ray J and his crew were very meticulous in everything that they did. The gutters matched our trim and the downspouts match the body color of our house. We recently had our house painted and our Byers gutters were the cherry on top. I can say without reservation I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks for a fantastic job! Bill S. Nevada City
Excellent service on their products, on time for service and installation. Friendly knowledgeable service and sales.

NHLSHOP.com Review: Great Products, But Customer Service Needs Improvement
Last month, on October 11, I had the pleasure of discovering that NHLSHOP.com had the Toronto Maple Leafs t-shirt I had been on the hunt for, for months. Not only that, but with the start of the season, they were offering a special with free shipping when ordering from Canada. Naturally, this seemed like an opportunity not to be missed, and I excitedly placed an order.
However, a few weeks went by, and I still hadn't received my order. I was perplexed, as their site indicated the product was in stock and would ship within 2-7 business days. Naturally, I decided to contact NHLSHOP.com, and to my surprise, the customer service representative informed me they would take immediate action to have the order sent out to me. Upon further reflection, I decided to cancel the order, as I felt they should have initiated this process on their own.
I thought the matter was resolved when they informed me that the order had been canceled, only to discover a few weeks later that there was a pending charge from shop.nhl.com on my PayPal account, indicating that the order had not been canceled. I once again contacted NHLSHOP.com to try to resolve the issue, as I wasn't able to update my PayPal information due to the pending charge. Unfortunately, they informed me that it might not be possible to cancel the order, but they would provide me with an update as soon as possible.
One day later, NHLSHOP.com emailed me, stating that the order could not be canceled and that the item might ship at some point. While I appreciated their honesty, I found it contradictory to say the item "might" ship. Either it would or wouldn't. However, to my surprise, when I checked my PayPal account tonight, the charge had been canceled, even though there was no update email from NHLSHOP.com.
In conclusion, NHLSHOP.com is a great website to shop at, with an excellent range of products. However, their customer service can use some improvements as it was not very helpful and left me feeling somewhat uncertain regarding my order status. It would be wonderful if they provided timely and clear updates to their customers, especially when an order cannot be canceled. Despite these issues, I would still highly recommend NHLSHOP.com to any hockey enthusiast; just make sure to keep an eye on your order status and follow-up appropriately.
Avoid NHLSHOP.com - Poor Customer Service & Hidden Costs
I recently had a highly frustrating experience with NHLSHOP.com (shop.nhl.com) and I would not recommend using their services. Firstly, I placed an order for three items but was later notified that one of the items was not available. Despite this, the other two items were shipped out without my consent, and I was informed that $10 would be added to my NHL-shop account to make up for the inconvenience. However, as I checked out as a guest, I did not have an account, rendering this compensation useless.
Furthermore, as I reside in Switzerland, shipping costs were already high at $24. I attempted to request a free shipping option as my previous order was sent out without waiting for additional items, which would have resulted in another $24 shipping charge. NHLSHOP.com informed me that they would take care of my request in 2-3 days, but I never received any update on the matter.
The most frustrating part of my experience was upon receipt of my order - I was required to pay $50 for customs clearance. The customs declaration on the box displayed the incorrect value of my order, stating a quantity of 8 items for a total cost of over $300, while my actual order cost roughly $40. I immediately reached out via email, as calling would result in additional fees, and requested a refund for their mistake. Unfortunately, it has been 5 days since this request, and I have yet to receive a response from NHLSHOP.com.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against using NHLSHOP.com and have not had a worse customer service experience. The high shipping costs and additional charges for customs clearance, coupled with their incompetence in addressing customer concerns, make their services not worth the hassle.
Disappointing experience with NHLSHOP.com: Order Delayed Beyond Delivery Date
I recently had an experience with NHLSHOP.com (shop.nhl.com) that was very disappointing. I placed an order for a jersey on November 3rd for a game that I was planning on attending on December 10th. I thought that the five-week timeframe would be enough to receive my order in time, but unfortunately, this was not the case.
The item was listed as "in stock" and was supposed to ship on November 12, with a delivery date of November 21. However, I kept receiving emails notifying me that the order had been delayed. As time went on, I became increasingly concerned and nervous that I was not going to receive my product in time for the game. To me, this defeats the entire purpose of the order.
I reached out to their customer service team for the first time on November 22nd and was told that my order would definitely ship the next day. However, after receiving two more emails saying that it was still delayed, I called back the following week. The person I spoke with this time informed me that it wasn't going to ship until December 4th, which was later than the previous information I received. I felt frustrated and disappointed, as I believed that the first person I spoke to had lied to me.
At this point, I wanted to cancel my order and buy from a company that I knew would actually deliver on time (I should have gone with Sportchek from the start). The NHLSHOP.com customer service rep told me that I couldn't cancel my order, but I insisted. Each email I received that notified me of the delay also stated that I could cancel at any time if I didn't want to wait. Finally, after speaking with her manager, she allowed me to cancel the order that had not even shipped yet, despite me placing it three weeks prior.
This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth, and I can confidently say that I will not be ordering from NHLSHOP.com again. If anyone asks me about their services, I will share my own experience and suggest that they also look elsewhere for their sports merchandise needs.

Untrustworthy Practices by NHLSHOP.com: A Customer Review
When searching for a new jersey from NHLSHOP.com (also known as shop.nhl.com), I unfortunately experienced quite a few issues. Despite not even having received my order yet, I was charged taxes on my credit card multiple times for varying reasons. As a resident of Canada, I am familiar with the 5% GST tax that should have been applied. However, I was charged close to 10% without a clear explanation as to why. When I reached out to customer service to try to rectify the situation, I was given conflicting information about why I was being charged extra. First I was told it was an international tax, but when I checked my invoice online, I saw that the GST had been reduced appropriately and an additional provincial tax had been added - not a satisfactory answer.
To add insult to injury, any invoice that reflects a GST charge must show the seller's GST registration number in Canada, but I was not provided with this information despite requesting it several times. Furthermore, I found out that any company shipping to a province from another province is not allowed to charge provincial sales tax. This leads me to believe that NHLSHOP.com is manipulating their charges to take advantage of their Canadian customers.
When I was told that my order had been shipped over a week ago and that I could track it through FedEx's online tracking system, I was met with another setback. The tracking number provided did not exist, making it impossible for me to keep track of my order's whereabouts. NHLSHOP.com advertises itself as "shopCanada" and claims to ship items from Canada, yet my experience begs to differ. It seems as though this is just another misleading tactic being employed by the company, further harming the relationship between themselves and their customers.
My frustration with NHLSHOP.com has led me to vow that I will never buy from them again, as they have proven themselves to be dishonest and untrustworthy. In fact, I plan to escalate this matter to the appropriate government revenue departments in order to investigate these shady practices further. I can't help but think that if this is being done to me, it's surely been done to others as well, and it's unacceptable. My advice to anyone considering shopping at NHLSHOP.com is to stay away and buy somewhere else - it's simply not worth the hassle.
Poor Service from NHLSHOP.com: A Review of Their Customer Care Practices
I recently had a less than stellar experience with NHLSHOP.com, or shop.nhl.com, that I wanted to share. I ordered a shirt for the 2019 Heritage Classic game back in September of that year, but after three weeks with no update from the company, I decided to cancel the order due to poor service. However, I saw that there was a 20% discount code available, so I ended up re-ordering the shirt in hopes of a better experience. Unfortunately, as of November 5th, I was still waiting for the shirt to arrive, over a week after the game had already ended. When I finally called to cancel the order, I was told that it couldn't be cancelled because it had already gone to the warehouse and was set to ship later that week. Needless to say, I was deeply disappointed with the service I received from NHLSHOP.com and would not recommend it to others.
In April 2021, I decided to give NHLSHOP.com another chance and ordered another hockey shirt. Yet again, I received no communication about my order for two weeks until I received an email saying that my order would be delayed due to an unspecified issue with the supplier. While the email mentioned that I could cancel my order at any time if I didn't want to wait, I found out that cancelling the order was actually impossible when I spoke to a representative on the phone. Not only was the representative rude and unhelpful, but she also refused to let me speak to a manager or supervisor to try to resolve the issue. The lack of customer service and overall incompetence of NHLSHOP.com was incredibly frustrating, and I will not be ordering from them again until they improve their customer care practices.
Terrible Shopping Experience on NHLSHOP.com - Order Cancellations, Poor Customer Service, and Late Deliveries!
I have had terrible experiences shopping on NHLSHOP.com (shop.nhl.com). The first time I placed an order for a t-shirt, I waited for a month without receiving any update, only to receive an email notifying me that my order had been canceled. I had to reorder! More recently, I ordered two custom jerseys early in December, hoping to have ample time to receive them before Christmas, but this proved to be untrue. When I reached out to customer service by email, I received no response, and it was only when I called on December 19th that I was able to speak to someone. This person assured me that the warehouse would contact me, but this never happened. I even had to call them back the next day, only to receive rude treatment and a phone call suddenly cut short. On December 23rd, I finally learned that my order would be shipped on January 1, and was told that the site was still playing catch-up from the business they received on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which was causing problems with holiday orders. It is astonishing to me that a company as large as the NHL shop can be so ill-prepared for holiday shopping surges, and it is particularly frustrating that they withdrew over $300 from my checking account without fulfilling my order. I will never shop there again!
A Frustrating Experience Ordering from NHLSHOP.com as a Canadian Customer
This review describes a frustrating experience ordering from NHLSHOP.com, specifically from a Canadian customer's perspective. The reviewer's girlfriend initially attempted to order a jersey on January 2nd, but became concerned when she did not receive a confirmation email. After contacting customer service on January 6th, she learned that the sale did not go through and was reimbursed.
After waiting for the refund to process, the girlfriend attempted to reorder the jersey, but encountered more problems. Despite having the money available on her credit card, the order did not go through. It wasn't until several days later that she learned the order had been cancelled.
By January 19th, the day the jersey was expected to arrive, the reviewer had to call customer service to get to the bottom of the issues. They learned that the address they were shipping to was "red flagged" because it was close to the US-Canadian border and there were concerns about tax payment. The order was eventually cancelled and a new Canadian shipping address was provided.
However, the reviewer notes that the refund for the initial order has still not been processed. To make matters worse, two jerseys were eventually shipped - one to the Canadian address and one to the "red flagged" address. The reviewer now has to drive 45 minutes to the border to retrieve the second jersey and return it to the company.
Overall, the reviewer strongly advises against ordering from NHLSHOP.com due to the chaotic experience they had. They suggest potential customers explore other options instead.
My Experience with NHLSHOP.com: Jersey Quality Worth the Risk, Customer Service a Nightmare
I recently had an experience shopping on NHLSHOP.com (shop.nhl.com) and wanted to share my thoughts. First, I want to mention that the Canadian default language on the site is French, so make sure to adjust the language options if needed.
During my shopping experience, I found a jersey on sale with the deductions already taken off. However, on checkout, the item was full price. I refreshed the page and it fixed itself. Just something to keep in mind if you encounter a similar issue.
After a week had passed, I received an email stating that they couldn't find my item anywhere. They mentioned that they would send me another email when they found it, but given that Christmas was approaching, I was a bit worried about the timing.
The email also gave me the option to cancel my order by clicking a link. Unfortunately, this is where things became a bit of a nightmare. Clicking on the link took me to a page that let me modify something, but there was no option to cancel. The options that were available didn't have any working links, and the live customer service chat was a bot that couldn't find my order and couldn't help me cancel it.
Feeling frustrated, I decided to call the customer service desk, and things didn't get any better. It took a bit of effort to even speak to a person, and once I did, they put me on hold immediately without even asking for my order number. After I reminded them of my order, they put me on hold again for around 12 minutes.
Finally, they told me that they would "put in a ticket" to cancel my order, which apparently meant that it would take 3-7 days to process. Once this was done, I would receive an email stating that my order had been cancelled, and it would take an additional 3-7 days to get my $200+ dollars back.
Overall, it's disappointing to have such a negative experience with a company. However, I do want to note that the jersey itself was of good quality and worth the cost (assuming I can eventually get my money back). I would caution others to be prepared for potential issues with cancelling orders or reaching customer service, but if you're willing to take that risk, the products themselves are worth it.
Nightmare Experience with NHLshop.com/Fanatics: Avoid at All Costs!
If you're thinking about buying something from NHLshop.com or Fanatics, you might want to reconsider! I had a nightmare experience when I bought a 16x20" Anaheim Ducks frame back in May. When it arrived, I realized it was way bigger than I wanted - turns out, that was just the photo size, not the actual size of the frame. So I ordered a smaller one and tried to return the larger one, but things went downhill from there.
First, I got an email saying my label fee had been taken care of and to simply print and attach the label to my box and drop it off with USPS. The only problem? There was no label attachment or link in the email. When I called to ask, they said they were looking into it and made a note in my file. Fast forward several months and a lot of back-and-forth, and I still hadn't received the return label. It turns out there were actually TWO emails I was supposed to receive - the one I got that didn't include the label, and another one with the label attached. Of course, nobody bothered to tell me that, so I was left floundering.
To add insult to injury, there's no easy way to access the return label from my online account. I can see my order history and everything else, but not the one thing I actually need to return an item. It's frustrating that NHLshop.com and Fanatics make it so difficult for consumers to use their services. My advice? Unless you want to deal with endless headaches, shop elsewhere.
