NiCor Gas data breaches and use
Someone other than me got a "collection" letter for NiCor Gas from Harris & Harris Ltd 111 West Jackson Boulevard Suite 400, Chicago, IL 60604 in my name "Kris"
It said I owed "53.78 but what not sure as I have not had NiCor gas for several years.
It should not be legal for these entities to approach or send letters UNLESS they provide exact details on what and when and what location (address) the service was provided to.
This give citizens and consumers the runaround, is both discriminatory to low income and races and the ill or bankrupt as well as shady and unethical business practice.
Has data at NiCor and its "third parties" and "partners" been breached and brokered or shared and mined by this 3rd parties?
I do not owe this and is traumatizing and just bad civil and consumer privacy practice and terrible/exploitive system/process.

Desired outcome: stop all data use and sharing and improve your practices (AFNI did a breach too and Harris and Harris are clearly doing the same thing)

I have had service with Nicor for about 3 years, my cousin was on my act then he moved out and I called and explained for some reason instead of taking him off they opened a new account? Then last February I called again and said I had a tenant moving in to not take my name off my act, to just add his but they didn’t do that again. Now they want to charge me again $75 to start up service. When I talked with the woman she said they should have just had me fill something out saying I was landlord, I told the person when I called all of this info and they never did that. Nicor gas shut off
Nicor shut us off. They can't turn our heat back on for 4 days and I am sick. They said they called and they never did. I logged in online and it never said that I was going to be disconnected. They said it never says that online..how does that make sense that your website never tells people that they have to pay a certain amount or they are disconnected? I escalated the call to no avail, I could get a note from my doctor but they said there was no guarantee it would be any sooner and they would take 2 days to process it anyway. I can't be without heat, I am anemic and was only turned off because I have been in the hospital several times over the past couple months. I now over paid the current balance but they won't even refund that amount. I just want heat, it is supposed to be so cold the next 4 nights...I am already covered in multiple blankets.
Desired outcome: Heat turned back on right away.

My service was shut off 9/21, paid the bill 9/21 and spoke with someone about coming to get services restored today 9/23, it is now 8 PM and still no working gas. I spoke with DIANE on the emergency line and explained the issue I am having and the fact that I was lied to, when explaining to Diane my daughters medical needs/requirements Diane hung up on me. Called the customer service line back and got DIANE again and as soon as I said hello Diane she hung right up on me. I’m so tired of this company I have never had my services disconnected with them EVER and they have lied to me about reconnecting my service, then hung up in my face TWICE back to back the same person.

I’m renting a house in Joliet the address is 500 S Ottawa street and apparently while I was slow because I work third shift someone came out here and shut off the gas to this house on orders from the landlord and didn’t bother to check to see if anyplace was still residing in this house! I went 24 hours without any heat or hot water! This is very negligent of Nicor to not knock on the door to see if anyone was inside this house before just OBEYING the landlord to do this! Then they came out here to do something and DIDNT inform me they were here to turn it back on
Why did the employee from Nicor need to come out here to turn it on? Couldn’t that be done from the main office computer system?

Gas service extension and placement of gas meter new construction
The general contractor first communicated with Nicor Gas Co January 2022. After 5 months of no update on status of design, permitting or construction schedule. The owner/developer made contact with the business customer relationship rep Ms. Kelly Turner in late June 2022 via email. we documented the discussion via email as to design, permitting and construction timeline and followed up in August then September with a call which invited Ms. Jaime Vester her supervisor for update. Design and permitting was completed in late September and then it went to real estate then finally on or about October 21 it was sent to construction department. The project is a climatize control self storage facility for CubeSmart, end user, for a completion and delivery in December 2022. The project is in finishing stages and on track to be substantially completed by December 22nd, final inspections starting about a week earlier. We have no date for when the gas pipe extension work is to start other than today, we were told we are next but no date, and duration and when after a gas meter can be place.
Desired outcome: Gas service before December 9th.
Switch to Constellation Energy
I requested through Constellation Energy a switch to them as my natural gas supplier as of August 26, 2022.
Nicor Gas is still charging me at their rate of 1.24 / therm.
Constellation offered to charge me 0.79 / therm.
I have contacted both companies to resolve this problem without success. I want Nicor Gas to switch me immediately and reimberse me for the overcharge from August 26 to date.

Disconnection without notice
My servuce got disconnected without notice. When I called the rep said they sent me an email. I told her I never received it. She then said “sometimes it goes to spam”. I did a search for Nicor in my email and no email at all. I told her I don’t check my spam folder…no one really does. I asked her if they normally call and warn someone when they are about to be disconnected? It will take a week for them to connect my service. Just a horrible company. Btw, I was 6 days delayed in paying my bill. 6 Days and they disconnect you. Again, just a horrible company.
Desired outcome: I would like for them to change their system in notifying if someone is about to be disconnected. I would also like an apology.
Heat/hot water
I have been having a hard time with my bill from nicor for about a year. It doesn't matter how much we pay we always get letters saying that we have to pay more even being on the budget plan, my husband has been laid off alot working for Chrysler so we got on the budget plan. I thought it seemed very sketchy when every time I call nicor it says on my caller I.D. potential spam. It says that the few times they called me Also. As of right now we paid our bill on time last month this month with no warning we got a pink bill saying we were getting shut off. And off the budget plan yet again. Our bill is currently in the thousands. That is absurd. Especially since our hot water heater is not working for over a month and that is literally the only thing we use it for in the summer because it is gas. We are not using heat. So with no hot water at I read my bill the therm says 214.84. I really need someone to please help me figure out what is going on but there is something definitely not right. I am going to take this as high and as far as I can I save all statements and can provide bank Statements as well. Something very sketchy is going on and I am not ok with it I have 3 kids I have to worry about but this nicor bill only goes up when we are not even using hot water that should not make sense to anyone. Disconnected service on a Friday and won't restore on weekends!!
My service was disconnected on a friday afternoon with no customer servive to help me when I got hone from work. Even after making the payment in full I can not get my servive on for a full weekend with kids at home...Instead you make us wait an entire weekend to restore service. That is horrible to do to people struggling in this economy and with covid especially right now!

My services were suspended without notice. I paid the balance and have been unable to reach a representative. Spoke with a very rude supervisor.
Gas meter replacement in cold weather... Left with no working furnace
The gas company came out in cold weather to replace my gas meter, (january 24, 2022) with even colder weather on the way. They were unable to relight my furnace. They told me it was broken even though it worked fine and was running when they got here and shut off the gas. They have absolutely no plan to do anything if there are complications. No emergency services. Just tell you to find someone and request reimbursement for a bill you have to pay.
I am told this can also lead to carbon monoxide leaks, which they did not mention either. So basically between that and the temperatures it is unsafe for me to be in my home and all they can do is shrug.

My bill is too high for previous month. It is $275 which is double than the previous one. I live in Illinois Aurora and looks like they have increased the gas bill too high but still when compare to neighbors it is too high. I would like to take a look into my bill.

My gas residential gas bill increased over 75% from last year. You cannot do this to citizens and homeowners. I demand you to look at what you're doing to people who are "hand cuffed" to you.

Look into your billing procedures and work with reducing your costs by demanding a change.

And now effective May 2022 the cost of a therm goes to 1.11 from 68 cents. Which means our bills go up 40%. I give up.
I agree.And now in May 2022 NICOR informs us that the cost per therm goes from 68 cents to 1.11. A 60% increase on the supply portion of the bill which will come out to about a 40% increase on the total bill. So my 200 dollar gas bill goes to 280. I give up.

She doesn't have any deeds to a home that don't belong to her! Now today she is living in shelter to shelter and Prostituting her body out and crack head. Rebate department has received my form, an email, and a call for the rebate on my pool more efficient heater .

Com Ed offered the same rebate on pool filter-- newly installed more efficient unit, I received their rebate within 6- 8 business weeks .
Like a call to me at this point not an email! Why would the rebate you offer take so long to process?

Nicor canceled my autopay and i didn't notice! It was a complete oversight, but unfortunately a 7 month one since somebody else takes care of the bills at my home! They shut me off and I immediately paid my bill in full but they wont reconnect until 3 days later! I did not approve them canceling my autopay back in January!
