I got the same sms, i know it was a fraud but i was compelled to see what they were scamming for. So i send and email only to find out the want:
Cost of delivery
Mailing: 575 GBP [ ]
Insurance: £1, 650.00 (PAID)
Administrative: £240.00 (PAID)
24hours delivery
Just for delivery... ### it would be cheaper to fly to the UK and get the check myself. anyways the email was very cheap looking etc. but the main question still remains how did they get my number and how did they know i am using a nokia. Any ways beware of nokiaukmobile2008@live.com .

I also on the same process that got from the Nokia promotion. It is in very doubt that how I own 1000000.00 GBP along with some other prize. If the company send the same amount after the deduction of all postage, forwarding charge, insurance etc then it can be a faithful service. Otherwise fraud. I suggest to the company if they want to chalange against the complain, then first proove them their genuin service.

Hi. The Nokia Promo UK Spain Nokia Board is a unbeleivable scam has reached Oman. Some african persons one by the name of Juls Agaga has hoodwinked me for 80 Oman Riyals. He uses the email address nokiaaccounts@yahoo.com. and phone number [protected] also [protected]. he always calls in the afternoon at 2.30pm. He uses the term Inshullah beware. Once money sent by DHL he passes you over to another african by the name of Luis Santiago phone number [protected] and fax [protected]. [protected]. This man is very agressive. He has an online bank called Euro Finance Bank or Group. This bank does not exist after checking on google and yahoo search engines? he claims thst once us send him Euros 3, 00 0he will give u the code lock to transfer 200, 000 euros to your account. He opens an account in your name showing 200, 000 euros?. This software is sent to you by email. Very clever Scam. Like the other I wander wy Nokia id not trscking these africans down and send tem to court then to prison. They claim they are cxalling from Spain. Juls agaga asks for money to cover cost of DHL courier afetr asking im reapeatedly is this the only payment e says yes. Thats the big lie. Please Nokia track them down asap. Tey are criminals big time.

Got the same, but there are a couple of reason why it CAN NOT be true, so here a few points of common sense for the Nokia case and if any further similar, because unfortunately the world is full of those scams!
1) Any serious lottery requires participation first, agreement for participation and agreement of the legal guidelines.
2) Promotional and Marketing lottery programs uses a type of advertising first, with an official announcement of the program, the amount.. etc.. on the official website. Many people informed, a few are winning, Here we have the opposite.
3) Nokia’s headquarter is in Finland and if this would be an international marketing program, the message would be very probably send from the companies headquarter with an amount in Euros, and not GBP or $! If it would be a regional marketing program it has go out of the main regional offices like “South East Asia & Pacific”, “Middle East & Africa” etc, the list of offices you can always check on the official website.
Though Nokia has corporate development offices in the UK, though it would be more than unusual that those offices has the decision power for giving out those amounts of money to international recipients and the text message would not come out of countries like (my case Nigeria with a country code 00234…)
4) Powerful companies such as Nokia would never use email accounts such as @yahoo, @hotmail, @live.co.uk, etc for any official correspondence on their program!
5) No serious lottery program will ask for any kind of money after wining and before paying out the money. There is not a thing such as applied taxes from the company that issue the gain. The only one who can ask for taxes is eventually the tax office in your country AFTER receiving the full amount, when you declare your annual income and the gain is not a tax free declared gain. If there is truly a gain, it would be the most logic action to deduct any kind of fees directly from the original amount before the payout and not ask the winner to send out the money first. Though serious lottery amounts are always net, not extras applied.
6) Big companies like Nokia would never use DHL or Western Union for any kind of money transfers.
….. now why it is difficult to track those people down.
First, they know that they will be probably not many files against them deposed at the police, as the you must be physically in the country where the fraud occurred to depose your declaration at the police (in this case pretty unclear and internationally mixed up). Second, it is international operated and any local police will reach fast the border of their investigation power. Third, they are using fake id’s, anonymous mass mailer programs, mail accounts and proxies which they are changing frequently.
The only question:
Where did they get the phone numbers from knowing that the all of us uses actually a Nokia phone?
This can only come out of someone who accessed and used or abused a Nokia database or Nokia Data Gathering solutions.
And as for me, I have been using different brands and mobile phones with the same number and they ONLY can have my number via my mobile phone accessing to nokia.com.
Certainly the company should come up with an official statement on investigation as it is still a recent and ongoing process!

I live in The Bahamas, an got an e- mail this morning from Mrs. Darry Clarke telling me to clime my prize for winning the NOKIA PROMO. I have been sending e-mails back an forth with a Mr. FRED BOWEN. thank you Jesus! I decide to google him cause he ask me to westen union him money (400). I REALLY COULD HAVE DONE GOOD WITH THAT 200, 000.00. too bad

I have received this message 3 days ego through tagged web site! They use meeting web site to send this message to everyone.
How can we stop it?
