I had a car repossessed by Nuvell in 2001. Nuvell put a debt on my credit report of 3, 000.00 to try and get me to pay for a reimbursement check they received from an insurance company that paid for damages on my car after one of their insuree's hit my car. Nuvell claimed that the check was accidentally put into my account (but it never was), and has been trying to collect on it. I made complaints to Equifax, Transunion, and Experian. Equifax and Transunion took the fraudulent debt off my credit report, but Experian sold the information (i didn't know that Experian never had it), to Nuvell, and refuse to take it off, up to this day. When I write and ask Nuvell to show proof that the check was put into my account, Nuvell will not respond, and continue to leave the debt on my credit report. I told this to Experian and they still refuse to take it off my credit report. Buyer beware, because Nuvell will commit consumer fraud against you if they can get away with it.
I changed phone companies about a month ago from a regular line to one through the cable company. Ever since that time I have been receiving phone calls from the same person "Stephanie". She uses my name and says she is trying to contact someone I have never heard of. They have used more than one name for who they are trying to contact. I called the number on the caller ID and found out who they were and called back. First of all they ask for your "whole" social security number. I have never heard of a legitimate company who wants you to punch in your whole social security number on the phone! Then the message says "if you don't know your social security number enter zero". I punched in the extension of Stephanie and once I spoke to her and told her I have no knowlege of the person she is asking for then they hang up real quickly. It is always the same voice on the phone. Who are these people? Who does one call or contact to get these people from these obviously sleezy practices? I don't even have a car loan. My car is paid for and was with cash! Any ideas from anyone?
