Oberon Media review: purchasing games issues 19

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I attempted to purchase a game from the MSN site (which is handled by Oberon-Media) and received an error page as soon as my credit card info was entered that advised me not to reorder as same error would appear and that I needed to contact support to complete the order and a link was provided to support. The link did not work. I tried 3 times and nothing happened.

I went to the MSN games site and found the links to get to support for purchasing issues and filled out the information and then received an error page when I tried to send it off. The new error page provided an email address to send info/issue to if there was a problem with the support page. I sent an email and received a delivery failure notice as the email address does not exist as per below:

:
69.25.74.34 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 5.1.1 Bad destination mailbox address ([protected]@oberon-media.com).

There are no other methods of contact that I can find. I did, however, go back to the support page and click on their "Comments and suggestions" link, which had the exact same format as the other support pages, filled out the same information and received a ticket number once I sent it. It appears that if you have any issues to do with billing, you can be sure to get a non-existant email address to send to or the page suddenly no longer works, but if you enter things that don't directly have to do with billing or purchases, you at least get a ticket number... I requested they respond to my ticket within 24 hours. I will update further if they do or not...

I also experienced the same issue, but like a fool waited several months and tried again. This time I ordered 3 games, 2 with CD's. After seveeral weeks (company disclosure states 5-7 days for delivery), I received 1 game and never received the 2nd. Spent days looking for contact information. This company has sunk to a low I would never expect to see from a public company in customer service. I amm 55 years old and have never experienced such frustration as trying to get in touch with a company. I finally sent a complaint to MSN and threatened to bring action against them as well since they are the ones promoting "Oberon Games'. After a coupke of email exchanges, I finally found a web site to register the complaint. At first I received a response that the company has no record of an order, and suggested I must have ordered ffrm another company. When I scanned and attached copies of the paid confirmations, I received an email advising they are having problems with CD deliveries. Upon inquiring for timeline to resolution a refund, I was advised they did not know when CD's would be delivered. No coment on refund request. I am sure I, or you, are not the only ones experiencing with this company. Let's put them ou of business...

I'm having the same issues. It started a week ago. I cannot purchase anything. The purchasing site does not work on multiple machines. They claim it's due to an overflowing cache, but I am no fool. I already did that before I contacted them, but that's what their customer service rep said to do and I thought they'd be a little more technical. I really do not like their service. I've emailed them 5 times this week. Is this company run by 10 yr olds? How long will it take to get a response back on their faulty server? I get a run time error/server, and as I don't have a virus on my new machine and clear my cache and update firefox regularly as well, I think it's an error on their part. The scary thing is is that they have access to my card info and I can't get to it! Luckily, I cancelled it last week coincidentally, and today they sent me an email saying that I need to make sure that the number I gave them is correct. I think I'm done purchasing from them.

I too am having problems but I can't even get them to respond to my e-mails. I've sent 5 e-mails and never heard word one from them. I finally looked up Oberon Media and found a number for their New York office. I left a message with a customer service rep but I bet I'll need to call them back a dozen or so times before I get a return call. They don't seem to be very ethical and I wonder why MSN would link themselves with a company like this?

I too am having problems with Oberon. I purchased a game from them from the Comcast game site. I was able to use the trial software. After purchasing the game, it would not load. I have sent many messages to the tech help desk but have only received the "same" request for more information "canned" emails.

I also requested a refund and received "another" canned email that promised a tech rep would call. Well no call, no help, no direct contact with anyone. I am out the cost of the game with no obvious resolution in site.

They stink.

I signed up for 3 games and now they won't stop charging my credit card each month. And there is no way to contact them to stop it. I did email them last month but had no response. I found this site looking for a customer service phone number. Looks like they aren't very ethical.

I am having a problem with Oberon also. Purchased the game "Yard Sale Junkie" and the game keeps freezing up. Have tried numerous times to send a email to the support and keep getting a "Delivery Failure" notice because of bad email address. I have tried to uninstall and re-install this game numerous times but the same problem keeps occurring. Game starts to slow down and then the mouse will not respond and eventually the game picture takes over the entire screen and you cannot even use the escape key or the cntrl escape to leave the game. You need to shut down the computer. Anyone have an email address that is legitimate and works.

There is an Oberon Media in Seattle that's linked to the company. If someone were persistent enough they could probably call the local Seattle number and get a human being to answer some questions posted here.

I too purchased '4 Elements' game...could not get anywhere...they sent me a registration numer but it would not work...after trying 3 times, they charged me 3 times...Now I can't find a way to cancel or when I do they say I am not a customer. How in the world can I find a telephone number or a website to cancel? I feel so frustrated because I have been taken in and can't do anything but cancel my charge card. This has been a lesson for me. No more games will I play or even think about buying.

MSN GAMES ARE A JOKE! THEIR SITE IS ALL FUKD UP, LOCKS UP, KICKS YOU OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF GAMES, CANT HOOK UP WITH FRIEND, AND THEY DONT FUKN CARE, AND YOU CANT EVEN CONTACT A REAL PERSON TO FIND WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING, OR MORE TO THE POINT...NOT DOING..POGO.COM IS SO MUCH BETTER.

I got 3 games from these people from bestbuygames.com ... my comp crashed so I get it fixed and go to re-download the games since I still have the registration codes and email I used for them and can't get to the download page on any of the games, I can't find them anywhere else and I'm pretty irritated. I can't even get their website to come up but here's some info I found for them and I WILL be calling them during business hours.

I bought Mahjong Journey of Enlightenment approximately 2 years ago through MSN. I had to get a new hard drive so lost the game. I have the original code but now that game is no longer listed on the site. I wrote to them and got the usual canned message about being too overwhelmed so the wait would be longer than their usual 24-48 hours. I emailed again after 4 days and nothing. It has now been 9 days. I have asked them to send me the CD-ROM. So, if this does not happen, they owe me a game. But, I am not holding my breath that that will happen or that I will hear from them. Once this outfit has your money, it is obviously tough sh! if you have a problem. NEVER AGAIN!

Well we had set up an account with oberon media through msn games a few months ago then went and bought a new computer with windows 7 on it, and of course windows 7 wants you to set up a windows live account and once you do this you cant get into your msn games account again. Every time i contact them i get some generic answer that doesnt address the issue or fix it. I just think that they dont want to spend the money on extra employees for customer service and are happy taking our money and letting all of us sweat it out. If anyone has contacted a lawyer about this I would love to talk to him or her.

I too have failed to hear back from the so-called customer service dept. My computer with Windows XP crashed a couople weeks ago, losing six (6) downloaded Oberon games. My new computer has the Windows 7 Home package and it seems to ba able to play the games, but I have been waiting a week to hear from tham after they said they would contact me with-in 48 hours. I have left 2 emails to 2 different address' and have left a vm to the NYC iplay Corporate Headquarters([protected])...to no avail. If anyone has looked into an attorney for lawsuit purposes, I too would like to join in.

After contacting the various local police departments, the Consumer Protection Agency, the Better Business Bureau, we will be in touch with our attorneys to file a class action suit against both you and MSN.
Also, please note we are in the process of filing a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).

This is the email I sent, after being charged five times for one game. Everyone should get together and join in a class action suit.

This has got to stop.

I am also having the same problems with them, between [protected] I purchases over 20 games from oberion media thru msn games before I discovered bigfish games. my laptop crashed 2010. I got a new 1 and re - downloaded all my bigfish games without any problems but every time I go to try and download my old games from oberion, they give me a 403 error message, I try to contact their customer service via the email page sent to me confirming my purchase and it give me a 404 error message. I have no idea what else to do. this is sick. with big fish games, it doesn't matter how long I have been away. I can download any game I have paid for and activate them without any glitches.
