Insurance policy - failure to provide a paid service
Hello!
I am an insurance policy holder with Ocean Harbor. I was involved in a hit and run & this insurance company has failed me. They closed my medical claim. I’ve called for a week straight to speak with a manager and until this day I haven’t received a call back. I had random person call me, asking me what’s going on my with file because it looked a mess. That was not documented because when I asked for the name of the person, they had no proof or recollection of the call. I pay my insurance every month and it is now going on April and I only received 2 sessions with my chiropractor because they denied service due to the claim being closed. I have had emotional damaged added on to this horrible experience. I received an unprofessional text message from my adjuster and never got a call or a call back.
Desired outcome: I would like to sue.
Ocean harbour insurance
Ocean Harbour is the most horrible insurance company. I should have done my research! I was involved in a car accident, the other party was at fault. Due to the other party having limited coverages, I had to follow up by starting with my insurance to cover damages and my insurance goes after the other parties insurance (Geico insurance) for damages payment. Geico deemed my car a total loss about one month ago. The accident occurred on 12/19/2021. My car was sitting in impound waiting for ocean Harbour to towed to ocean Harbour for two weeks, then when they finally inspected it two weeks later. Meanwhile because I didnt have rental reimbursement I'm without transportation. The car is located finally at a repair shop because ocean Harbour said it's not a total loss and estimate damages around $5,000. Until the shop can inspect and see if there is additional damages. The shop said they have a backlog and cant even inspect until next week. Meanwhile, I'm stuck six weeks without a car with injuries from the accident, caught Covid, and suffering from Diabetic Neuropathy because my diabetes is out of control due to stress and Covid. I'm also a Disabled Senior. It's been almost 7weeks without a car and ocean Harbour has no care. The adjuster telling at me "You just have to wait." I will definitely get insured with Geico when I get my car repaired or get another car. They have treated me so kind and understanding going above and beyond to help. Even providing a rental as long as they could. Geico is a Real Good Insurance Company. They handled my claim very well, even contacting the ocean harbour adjuster Celine Gomez to ask for help with the claim, she flat out refused. Please do not go with Ocean Harbour insurance! They are a RIP OFF! They treat a Disabled Senior like this. I have no more money cause I'm sick and stuck without being able to do laundry, get groceries or see a doctor for treatment. I cant afford Ubers anymore.
Desired outcome: To be covered for a rental or reimbursed rental fees I paid. Not being responsible for towing charges because i was told the vehicle was a total loss. I can't pay $500 deductible plus $300towing charges.
Bad car experience on my behalf
I have gotten into a car accident in December just a few days before Christmas I understand holidays was around but since the holidays gone I been calling and calling and getting the same results the inspector supposedly came out on December 23rd to check on my car never came or never called and said I'm sorry unfortunately I can't make it in today so I will reschedule another day that didn't happen so now I'm stuck without a cat no job nor money to get anything I want I'm mad and don't tolerate this business it's worst and most disgusting insurance I had I need answer and quick I will never send anyone to this company for experience because they experience is dumb to me they just want the money for the car insurance payments that's it slacking at helping slacking at communicating to customers slacking at reaching to customers to even tells us what's happening with our claims so I will be leaving this insurance once my claim is over and will be filing another complaint about this insurance

The driver who is insured by the above company backed into my parked car and was witnessed by both me and my daughter who was almost knocked over while getting groceries out of the car. the damage is to the left rear of my car bumper and quarter panel. They are asking for pictures of the seats in my car, the stereo, steering wheel, carpeting, front and back seats and headliner. all of that is not relevant to the damage caused. I had an estimate done at caliber collision and the person there was confused by the extra requests. I just want my car fixed. They are not very nice and do not return calls.[protected]

I have full coverage on my vehicle. I backed into my boyfriends truck in our front yard one day and caused rear damage to the vehicle. I have ocean harbor / pearl holding for my insurance. I reached out to them the following day and they were quick and all was well. Until it came time to have an adjuster come out to look at my vehicle. It took weeks.! We were always able to get through to talk to somebody (never the lady who was actually on my claim, ismeli romero) until my car finally was ready to be dropped off at the shop. So I take my car, drop it off & the body shop says the amount that the insurance adjuster quoted was not even close to being enough and requested another adjuster come out and look at the vehicle again. Original quote was 2k dollars, the cost to fix the car was actually almost 6k. The insurance company refused to pay the amount for the car to be fixed & ended up not covering full labor rates and didn't want to even pay for new parts from the factory, they wanted the body shop to use used parts to fix my vehicle, thankfully the body shop is amazing and knows how terrible this insurance company is. So here it is a month and a half later and my car is done and ready for pick up, for a week now it's been ready. But pearl holding claims they sent out 3 checks. We've received two. The 2nd one sent is a 500 something dollar check which we never received. Or never even knew they sent until the body shop told us it shows in the paper work they sent a check out. I'm already having to pay 500$ out of pocket to get my vehicle out of the garage because the insurance didn't cover it all. My deductible was only 250 and now another 500 plus possibly another almost 600$ if this check doesn't appear. That's money I didn't account for or intend on spending having full coverage on my car.! So totaling over 1200$ I have to pay out of pocket if this check doesn't show. Meanwhile I've been out of a vehicle, with 6 kids for going on two months cause this insurance company can't get their crap together. I can't get through to anybody, emails are never responded to. I always always reach the voicemail of ismeli & she refuses to return a phone call. The garage has been able to reach them, but no fix on where the checks at. We've asked them for a check number or asked them to check into it and see if it had been cashed. And to just cancel that check and send a new one. Nothing. Nothing will get done my cars just sitting in this shop and I'm unable to get it out. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had with an insurance company & I just want this fixed, so that I can cancel my policy and move to a better company.

Auto Insurance
One of their clients hit my car. I have spent the last to months fighting with them to get the car repaired. They refuse to look at an estimate that I have from a quality repair shop and then send an estimate of there own that is less than half of what it will cost to repair the vehicle. They also try to tell you that they will only pay what their estimate says so it ends up being a battle with the body shop. Unfortunately I am going to have to turn it over to my insurance so I can get my vehicle repaired and then sue their client for my deductible because from what I read they are terrible about paying also. Beware of this company they skirt the law of what they can get away with. This is a company that should be shut down! Terrible business practices!

Failed to honor the agreement in paying for the rental car cost/ $557.96
On feb. 01, 2020 an ocean harbor insured driver hit my van from behind. It was determined that she was at fault. I contacted ocean harbor and after many phone calls and emails, my claim was approved. My claim adjuster agreed to pay for the cost of the rental car ($557.96) during the time that my car was in the body shop for fixing. After a long delay, he sent me an email that he apologized for delaying the payment and then called me later to reduce my car rental reimbursement from $557.96 to $200.00 and then sent me the check for only 50.00. That is totally unacceptable and unethical tactic. Previously, my claim adjuster has reassured me that he will reimburse the rental car cost via email and phone messages. Now, he said that he no longer honors the agreement to pay the full amount due to his supervisor's decision. I am very unhappy with how my case has been handled! It has been a very bad experience not only from the car accident but also from dealing with the unprofessional claim adjuster.

i can't believe how many names of complaints are on the internet about ocean harbor auto insurance.

Ocean Harbor clearly doesn't have enough employees answering their claims calls. Each time I call, I'm on hold for almost an hour before anyone is "with me shortly" as quoted on the automated standby message. I handle cases with them frequently and I have NEVER had a case where their insured has bodily injury coverage. It's bad enough people actually purchase insurance without bodily injury coverage (in case they kill or injure anyone) but it is clear their agents and their company don't even encourage them to purchase it. It's for the bottom of the barrel citizens who don't care about customer service, protecting themselves from additional insurance exposure, protecting any assets, and for people who care about anything in general. Most of their insured's don't even own a home, they have older vehicles, no assets, and really shouldn't be allowed to drive to begin with, much less for anyone who is actually a responsible person. How are they still in business? Pathetic that Florida allows them to write insurance in their state.
Auto insurance
The revives I have been reading about this company is worst and its really a nightmare, one of their insured car ran into my car on the 10/10/16, I have been calling so they can get my car fixed and these people are not returning calls or calling me. One of their insured crashed into my car on November 10, 2015.
The driver 'was ticketed.'
It took weeks of calling and providing the police report, etc. before

They made an offer that did NOT include the cost to repair my
broken hood latch.
I went round and round with them until they finally sent an adjuster
who 'agreed' the latch needed to be replaced only HE TOTALLED THE CAR!
The car can be repaired and I am NOT in a position to buy a new vehicle.
All I am asking is that they pay to fix what their insured damaged: the front bumper, the front lamp, the hood and grille and the release handle and safety catch. Total approximate cost is $1400.00
I was hit head n in Oct 14 by another driver, then while I was waiting for my car to be repaired I had a rental truck from the dealership and the day I was returning the truck I pulled in to gas it up. I overshot the gas pump by a foot and got into back up to the pump and some woman pulled in behind me and as I was backing up she had pulled so close to me that I did not see her and I tapped her car. The woman and her passenger claimed whiplash and both collected 10 grand from my insurance...SO two accidents inside of a month and I could not get affordable coverage when my policy came due. I was forced to go with Ocean Harbor because every other company was wanting 500.00 and up a month over these two accidents one that was not my fault and the other that was clearly a opportunity to take advantage of the system. I was not sited in either. Now two years later I have had a accident that was my fault during Hurricane Hermine...Ocean Harbor has not gotten back to me and it has been a month since I reported the claim I HAVE CALLED THEM 24 TIMES...I WISH I HAD READ THESE COMMENTS PRIOR TO SIGNING UP WITH THIS FRADULANT COMPANY! Never return phone calls
Since Dec. 11 I have been trying to settle a claim with this company against one of their policy holders. I made several calls to Luis Valez at Ext. 197 & left messages in reference to the progress of my claim & he never returned my calls. Finally, a week later, I finally got him to answer his phone and he told me the release form had been completed several days ago. When I asked him where it was, he informed me that it was never mailed out. When I finally got the release I made an appointment to get my car repaired at Dattilo's Collision in Pinellas Park, Fl. I called Mr. Valez at least 6 or 7 times in reference to leasing a car which in the release they agreed to pay for. Once again, no returned calls. The leasing agent at Enterprise Leasing has been trying to track him down with phone calls and computer communication to have him give them a reservation number. He has ignored their calls also. This is absolutely rediculous. This man just doesn't seem to care about anyone. I left a message for him again on 2/15 & told him to either call me or Enterprise Leasing to get this resolved. I also told him that if he doesn't contact one of us by 2/17, I will complain to the Florida Insurance Commission.
I hate them
I hate them with a passion. In oct 13 2010 I allowed my girlfriend to drive my car to make an errand. She gets into an accident and she was at fault. Around that time I was insured with Ocean Harbor Casualty. It was an PIP policy, Im sure you all know what that means. Few weeks later they called my girl for a statement and wanted one from me too but I was at work. The next day Im calling Ocean Harbor to give them my statement they didn't pick up so I left a message. Thinking they might be busy if they don't call me back I will try again. I call them back and have been calling for 4 years (2014) they never answered or call me back for my statement. I call customer service they transfer my call to whon Im suppose to give my statement to, never received a phone call back. I have left numerous messages nobody never call me back. I received a phone call from a claims department saying we are on the verge of getting sued by one of the other driver insurance company, that they need the statement from Ocean Harbor so everything would go through. So again we made numerous call to Ocean Harbor and again no answers. I call the claim department to let them know I try calling Ocean Harbor to give them the statement you guys need but they are not answering or returning any of my calls. What am I to do if I have been paying a PIP policy and when something really happen I can't get a hold of Ocean Harbor. Where is all that money I'vebeen paying them for something like this. Today we received papers that me and my girl are being sued. This is ###. I had insurance at the time. Why weren't they returning any of my calls. They were quick to take my money but provides no service. Who does that, only fraudulent companies does that. This isn't fair at all and somebody needs to get to the bottom of this because this is wrong. It is against the law to take peoplemoney and provide no service, come on. Im sure Im not the only complaining about this Ocean Harbor insurance company. Please someone investigate because we work hard for our money to allow a group of ### to steal our money like this.
Dishonest company, don't use them
My son was in accident and we went to the company Ocean Harbor Casualty Insurance Company. They promised to provide help, but they played for time. They asked for police report, which we provided them, and after that it turned out that my son was at fault. After that the agent from this company stopped to reply to our phone calls and emails. The agent did something, and my son paid for everything, but it wasn’t his fault. ###. Avoid this company and post comments.
