Ohio Unemployment Unemployment Claim

In August 2021, I was fired from my job for being unable to wear a covid mask because of religious reasons. I filed a claim for unemployment benefits, but was denied. I immediately appealed the denial, but they claimed that they never received the appeal. My employer suggested that I refile the claim, which I did. The unemployment office said that the refiling was an improper procedure, and that they could not act on it. I requested several times information on scheduling a hearing or some other means of recourse, and was completely ignored. At this point, I have not received any further communication from them.

Desired outcome: I would like to have this issue investigated and resolved.

Ohio Unemployment My case is denied even though the decision is changed to allowed

I have been struggling with the unemployment department since June of last year . I had to do 3 identity verifications and send everything in the world except how I look when I was 2 years old . I had 2 appeals and both appeals were denied I ended up had hearing and the officer change my claim to allow since I didn't resign and clearly the unemployment department do nothing but deny each and every case they get unless you prove they are wrong after 6 months . Even though the decision was made to allowed on November my case still showing denied in the portal and no one is able to help . All what I get from them just wait and give it some time . It is so disappointing that they made me chasing them for 7 months for something I deserve .

Ohio Unemployment Unemployment claim disallowments

I am filing a complaint against OJDFS due to Unemployment claim disallowments based on not meeting the weekly income requirement of $280 which is false and have provided paystubs to prove it and not meeting the minimum requirement of 20 weeks (questionable) based on a timeframe of 10/20/2020 until 9/30/21. I have filed numerous appeals with supporting documents to prove my claim. My employer placed me on 2 furloughs -1st furlough 4/16/2020, 2nd-furlough 10/15/2021. I have not received any unemployment disbursement since I filed on 10/18/2021. I have filed numerous appeals only to get denied. I sent an email to request a phone interview for fact finding appeals on 1/6/20202. I've tried to contact Unemployment only to get a message stating the representatives are busy and not available to take my call. I haven't received any response for a fact-finding phone interview. Your system is very poor and you need to re-open your unemployment office so respondent can get some assistance with their claim issues. Our governor needs to re-organize the Unemployment system or get some assistance in re-organizing the Unemployment across the country.

Ohio Unemployment Phone que hold time and hang up

I called office on Jan 2 at 8 am. Was on hold for 55 minutes. My call rang through with two rings and person sent me back to the back of the que. After on hold an additional 45 minutes I was hung up on. I am not happy that my tax dollars are being wasted on people who won't do their job. I am currently on hold again.

Desired outcome: Get people who will answer and not hang up. Get people who do their job

Ohio Unemployment If I could sue I would.

I've tried to call Ohio unemployment 5 times now and they keep ending my call. It says its due to a technical difficulty. I also have been trying to get unemployment benefits for 2 weeks now and they defiantly like to make it hard to get it. I've done my work search requirements and I've uploaded my resume. I don't know what else to do other than to express my anger towards this ridiculousness. Everything is too hard. I got laid off due to a seasonal job. And now I'm broke because unemployment doesn't want to help me and they owe me thousands of dollars from the past.

I applied for the unemployment on June 1st and my account was locked because they need to Verify my identity. It took them 3 months to verify my identity after I submitted everything they need . Also, my employer disallowed my unemployment and the claimed I resigned.i Appealed twice and I had hearing and the officer changed my case to allowed on December and I called the unemployment 15 days later to back date my unmployment and to process my claim and changed it to allowed in their system and no luck . Literally I have been calling them everyday for 5 months no one was able to help but telling me to wait and give it some time . If I know I a lawyer would help I would sue them . I am so pissed .

i think i missed something in your complaint.

1. you "received a deposit of 5800 to my reliacard account" on 10/15/2021
2. you closed your " reliacard account and the funds were returned to Ohio pandemic unemployment" on December 8 2021

so what funds and benefits are not transferred? it sounds more to me like your not eligible anymore for pandemic unemployment fund. according to the Ohio DJFS site [unless this changed] the funds were halted from being dispersed passed 9/4/21 and 10/6/21 [only if its was weeks prior to 9/4 your request]. so i'm guessing that when you closed the account on 10/15 you were locked out of getting benefits due to this. Again i'm just getting this from the website and do not know anything beyond that.

Ohio Unemployment Unemployment assistance with appeals dept

I filed for unemployment 6 weeks ago (11/5/2021) today. I had a heart event back in August of 2021 which resulted in my employment (field construction safety worker) being put on hold for FMLA. My job requires me to be on jobsites and rooftops. My medical release states I am suitable for desk duty job. I submitted all medical paperwork, my initial claim says "allowed", however all of the weeks I have filed state "Denied" just an hour or so after I have filed my claim.
I have applied for well over 100 jobs and have been cleared for full duty work with no restrictions, meaning I can now do jobs outside of the desk. I have reached out to my state senator Bill Dean, as well as governor Mike DeWines office and still have no resolution to my appeal for the denied weeks!
I have called the redeterminations department every day for the last 2 weeks only to be routed to the intake department. This is ridiculous! Christmas is 13 days away and the situation is still unresolved!

Desired outcome: Paid for the weeks i've been denied.

Ohio Unemployment Compensation

I am writing in regard to ongoing issues that I have had with Ohio Unemployment agency. On Nov 6, 2021. my claim was filed after being discharged because of and upcoming surgery on 11/09/2021. When I explained to the employer that I would have a 4-week recovery they told me to resign and reapply.

I continued my employment until they decided I all of the sudden had performance issues. At any rate, I had 6 pending issues, and answered them with a representative, and uploaded my ID to the response department. And still 6 weeks later have not received one payment. I have sent numerous emails and made several calls and still no avail.

Since then, I have been late on rent at risk for homelessness with 2 minor children. I also have a disconnection notice for gas. I should not have to beg or plead for benefits that are available to eligible workers. Due to the negligence of the verification department, that has all my documents and I have emails to verify that are time stamped and serve as a paper trial. I am not asking for anything except for my file to be processed. The unemployment office has had 6 weeks. They are putting my family in a compromising position.

Previously I had to report this organization for integrity issues when Shelly a investigator falsified documents stating that I told her I had restricted hours after I explained I had childcare.

Also, the first representative that took my application told me on a recorded line to file for both pua and ohio unemployment, although she was incorrect, and I was able to get both benefits, the agency wanted me a single mom to absorb the cost resulting in another hardship on my family.

I am beyond disgusted with the unemployment office and their unethical practice and something needs to be done.! Please address these concerns in a timely manner, as we enter into the holidays and my children don't have a gift or tree.

Tori R Josey RN, BSN

Desired outcome: Payment by 12/13/2021

Ohio Unemployment Why appeals is taking so long to get back with me?

In June I had to do identity verification when doing that I also did proof of income which had to be a W2 everyone had listened in by the middle of June but the representative how come you didn't tell me that I had to be a 2019 so come July I was ineligible for my benefits and didn't see that until after I had to file an appeal which which I did do then also said in a 2019 Ohio w2 in which I did that again this time making sure it was from Ohio now I've been waiting weeks for to appeal or do the application to look at it and how long does it take for you to go over some paperwork that only has one issue

Desired outcome: Still waiting

Ohio Unemployment Pua

I filed all my weeks and didn't realize the account they were direct depositing my money in was closed, so I immediately went on the site and changed my account back to the reliacard. So most my payments were rejected by my financial institution, so I've been calling for 5 weeks now to have them resubmit the payments. I'm still waiting for my payments from oct.28th and it's now Nov. 30th. What could possibly take that long to resubmit my payments?

Desired outcome: I want my payments that I’m entitled to.

Ohio Unemployment Appeal Process

Eric A. Triggs
SSN 3192
Claimant #[protected]
Corr. ID #[protected]

I am currently awaiting a resolution in my appeal of an adverse decision rendered by ODJFS, regarding my PUA eligibility. I was deemed "indefinitely ineligible" by ODJFS and provided 21 days in which I could take appeal. I did elect to appeal and did submit all required identifying documents that would establish my identity, citizenship, residence and bank account. Despite submitting the above named documents, again, I was adjudicated "indefinitely ineligible."
I was then provided another 21 days in which I could appeal the adverse decision rendered by ODJFS, and, again, another opportunity to present supporting documentation that could establish my identity, citizenship, residence and bank account. Of course I timely resubmitted all required identifying documentation and of course I was again adjudicated indefinitely ineligible by ODJFS. I was granted 21 days in which I could appeal though.
That is where I find myself now. On my third appeal with same supporting documentation resubmitted for the third time, awaiting a favorable decision for again the third time. I speak with representatives at ODJFS at least three times per week only to be told that my appeal is pending and that I have submitted all required documents.
I know that my situation is not unique at this moment in time but extremely frustrating nonetheless.

Desired outcome: I am eligible for PUA and I would like that to be determined by ODJFS.

Was advised to make complaint/report with FBI by unemployment office. There has been no contact made with me about this from FBI or unemployment. No one has resolved this issue yet. Complaint was filed back in May 2021. Please help me to gain more information about the proper way to handle this.

Ohio Unemployment Payment still not received

In March of 2021 someone filed for unemployment under my name. My employer returned the claim stating it was fraud. In April my company actually did close down. I was there through the end of May and on my last day, when I went to file, I wasn't able to because they said there was still fraud pending. I then submitted all the necessary information to clear my name and it wasn't until mid July when I was able to file a legit claim, however I had been off since May 28th. When I spoke to someone, they said it had been approved as of July 18th, but there were several weeks that were denied due to the fraud. My situation is this...I wasn't able to do ANYTHING with filing until the fraud was lifted. Now I'm being penalized and not getting my pay. I was out of work for 12 weeks. I have not tried to play the system and ride out on my unemployment. I was searching for work but was still out for 12 weeks that I'm due to receive unemployment. . I have bills that are behind and I would really like this to be looked into. If you look at my file, you will see there has been NUMEROUS emails and correspondence regarding this issue. PLEASE help.
