Positive experience
I never rate anything not matter how good/bad it is, but I felt like OpticsPlanet deserved a good review from me. Their app is extremely organized and easy to navigate, and their customer service is superior! I had questions one time about what particular scope to purchase for what my goals were, and they put me in contact with one of their specialists who walked me through what they would recommend and why. Sure enough, it was exactly what I was looking for! And I’ve had no issues with it at all! I love the app, company, and employees! I hope everyone has the same experiences I’ve had with it!
Honestly its your last stop
Ive only gotta ammo but you have to understand who they work to love them. Think of an amazon for guns and ammo. I will say ive had orders incorrectly placed or ammo that didnt work, took sometime but they fixed it being its not their ammo its the company that boxed it up and gave them to sell so it takes longer but costumers service is five stars never had an issue with them non of the transfer here transfer there let me talk to so and so nothing they know their jobs they’re giving leeway to make decisions they see fit and it shows. Amazing company amazing people, reliable products..especially if your life could depend on jt one day
Worst company ever
This company is a joke, I have a hard time believing the reviews on here are accurate. I’d look at the reviews online, more people share the same experience. I’ve used this company two times now and both times have been a joke. They say items are in stock but there not, once you get an email saying your order was complete they’ll say it will ship in 1-3 days, then you’ll wait a week before you wonder what’s going on call them and be on hold for an hour tell you finally speak to someone, for them to say it’s on back order it’s expected to ship in 2 months. This company is a joke, not only did this happen one time but twice and the last.
Outstanding
During COVID-19 crisis I was able to get anything and everything I needed. See I’m in Alaska and most specialty items are not readily available in our retail stores...which leads to online shopping. Well, I couldn’t find toilet paper but was able grab a couple extra mags for my glock, a new tactical stock kit for my mossberg, a birthday present (marmot jacket for my wife), some camping gear for our upcoming summer weekends—-ALLL SEPARATE ORDERS—-and people this place is legit.
Mind you most places either: wouldn’t ship, were shutdown, out of stock, closed, etc all due to COVID-19 and this place kept me stocked up in Alaska with minimal wait times. Outstanding.
Outstanding App / Outstanding Company
I have been using various apps to purchase products for many years and OpticsPlanet is one of the best around. Not only is the app outstanding and easy to use but the customer support is equally as outstanding. I recently bought an item that didn’t fit my non-standard weapon and I returned it for a quick no hassle refund. I purchased the correct item and it arrived in a timely manner. Best of all, OpticsPlanet is a American company and not one from overseas that takes months to get your items. Look no further than OpticsPlanet because they are great to buy from and deal with in this modern day internet shopping market. This Army Veteran give OpticsPlanet app and the company 5 stars.
Best App since KillerApp
Back in the ‘00’s (naughties), there was a website called KillerApp that gave comparisons off all PC gaming components down to last detail and gave options on configs that marketing never did. Opticsplanet app is like that. If there is a variant of what u want, it will be listed under the green radio button “select version.” If there are reviews and comments on ur product, u will learn more that u thought u needed to know. Awesome feedback from staff on what to use on what item, customer support are real people answering phones, prices are awesome and return policy is as it should be, weighted towards the serious builder who wants the right parts and wastes no ones time. Look fwd to future updates!
No more rainy day Bluez
From Covid to the rainy day Bluez it seemed like the magic 8 ball is stuck on outlook not so good. If you too are finding it hard to make ends meet let alone get awesome top line gear at anything affordable chin up . The optics planet app will hook you up with gear you couldn’t afford in your next lifetimes. I don’t know how they do it - none of the gear is damaged flawed or used. Next rainy day or time you’re down in the dumps start planning for better days out in the great wilderness at prices you’ll be able to afford. I love using this app for times my brain needs a vacation but there’s just no time for that. I can browse the gear plan to buy it my cart is never whipes out or maxed out it brings my spirits up.
The app is good, the service is upmost trash though
I have been trying to get ahold of any kind of customer support with help on my orders, all to no avail. Email after email are only responded with automated messages. Call waits are painfully long. When I finally do get ahold of someone, they regret to inform me that it is too late to change/alter the status or address of my order. Now I get it, we are all human and people make honest mistakes, but I have over $200 dollars tied up with optics planet with none of the products in hand. I really want to like you optics planet, but man do you make it hard. And please don’t blame Covid for all of your problems, yes we are all suffering from it, but really how hard is it to do a call back system or listen to voice mail.
Phenomenal App
I have made quite a few purchases through Optics Planet, and found that they are the best company for purchasing firearm equipment. They give great deals, and give you “OP Bucks” with everything you buy. I saw the app and decided to download it. I was not surprised to find it works well just like the website, but seems to be more suited for iPhone. I love being able to save my info, cart, etc. I believe this is the only review I’ve ever given on the App Store because this app has made shopping easier for me. I would recommend this to anyone who plans to make purchases over a period of time or just browse until they have the money to buy what they are looking for, the benefits are unmatched. OP Bucks have equated to about $600 in gear that I didn’t “pay” for.

Love OpticsPlanet and the app however I have just 2 suggestions that I think would benefit OP sales and efficiency. (i) The app does not always load when it is initiated. It often times tries to open but fails to and sends me back to my home screen. (ii) OpticsPlanet could do a better job with their shipping delays and customer costs. Find a way to make all deliveries free as oppose to using a code which can be missed, and get the item to the customer faster and more efficiently. If it did not take so long to receive my orders, I would be ordering more items more often. After all, no one wants to wait sometimes 3 weeks to receive an item that is supposedly “in stock”. - Aside from those suggestions, I continue to love OpticsPlanet and use the app very often.
5 Stars across the board
I love these guys. Always the best pricing, latest and hottest items in stock, fast shipping, great customer service. I’ve been very happy with every single purchase from OpticsPlanet. Great rewards program with “OP Bucks” and Exclusive “OPMOD” items only available at OpticsPlanet. The coupons, discount codes and “blazing deals” are the icing on the cake. Quickly becoming my one stop shop for all my outdoor sports needs and more. The app is fast and efficient. Keeps track of all my orders, account info, wishlists, cart etc. and coincides directly with the website in real time (which as we all know, it’s frustrating to lose a wishlist or cart order when shifting from site to app or vice versus). OpticsPlanet checks off all the boxes. I give 5 stars across the board. Thanks OP, JF.
Outstanding Customer Service
I’ve ordered several items from these folks within the last year and that said, they continue to set the model of superior personal customer service. I ordered an item, a range finder that happened to be on extended back order, they not only monitored this status but also offered us an option to upgrade to an available unit ready for immediate ship that was discounted significantly. This would’ve been an excellent deal however for simplicity and much smaller in size we opted to stay with our original choice selection. When this deal was originally suggested I was notified via email, since I hadn’t responded in a timely manner a representative actually picked up the phone and called us as further means of follow up on our back order. These guys rock in superior A&B CS! Keep up the great work OpticsPlanet team!
Excellent app from a great company
I have been shopping with Optics Planet for many years. I’ll agree with the reviewers that say this app is easier to use than the website. As has also been mentioned, the Optics Planet app and website allow you to purchase items that are on backorder without explicitly warning you during checkout. The in-stock/estimated ship information IS listed for each item. You must simply pay attention. With all of that said, I find their willingness to backorder helpful. Many items are extremely hard to find these days and I appreciate knowing that a purchase is locked down. OP provides updates via email for backorder items and has not ever cancelled a item with me. Dozens of great transactions with Optics Planet and consider myself a loyal customer. I may still shop around for price options, but routinely end up back here.

I’m deleting this ridiculous app, what a joke!
I ordered stuff (for a birthday grift) from this site that said “In Stock” and will take 1-4 days to ship out to me. On day 5 I get an email saying it’s taking longer than expected and no estimated time of when it will be shipped out. It’s been about 2 weeks now and still nothing! Tried calling and you only get an automated machine saying the same thing and instead of trying to do something to make up for it like rush delivery or throwing in a little something for the trouble or even a discount, nothing! Top it all off, if I want a refund it’ll take 3 weeks just to get my money back!
I’m not the only one that this has happen too either! A few of my buddies and tones of people from a Facebook group I’m in as well
Switch from Midway USA to Optic Planet
Optic Planet better costumer service than Midway USA.In my case but everyone have their good experience as well with Midway USA than the pass.Like I have been.I had been ordering and excellent costumer service with Midway USA.But this purchase I call MiDway USA ask them any code that I code use before I purchase the Trijicon Creedo 1-8x24.I been told that no code any for that prom.I called Optic planet and told them That I just hang up prom Midway USA I’m look to purchase the Trijicon

APPS FOR EASE
I wish all the companies I do business with other than OP had an app that is as user friendly as Optics planet. Bass Pro and Cabelas I can lost on the first page. Midway USA doesn’t have one, Midwest Gun Works needs one but don’t have one. Many things would be easier for me if user friendly things would happen. As a veteran that got hurt very badly in service and received a Traumatic Brain Injury, caught a bullet, torn liver, 28 screws and rods in my spine. I had to relearn everything. So websites get difficult. Simplistic Apps I can typically handle. My biggest complaint about Optics Planet is how the military discount thing works. I don’t understand how to get my discount added on to my ending amount owed. But places like kryptek or Sitka. Even Midwest Gun Works adds my price to each item I add to the shipping cart. Certain things would be helpful. The app itself it a great help though.
Read before you buy! In Stock? Wait times?
If you can read, then this site is awesome! If you’re too lazy, then you’ll be disappointed like the writers of the negative reviews. I’ve read so many bad reviews that could have been avoided. This site has everything you need. The ammo might not always be in stock but as of the date of this review 11/22, it’s 9 months after the COVID pandemic started and ammo is hard to mine by. This site doesn’t price gouge. CheaperThan*** prices are almost double. OP estimates when they will ship. That’s the beat part. I got some ammo that arrived in 2 months. The site said 6-8 weeks. It was right on the money. They don’t charge you till it ships! You can still cancel if it hasn’t shipped. I still some back ordered from the same date and it may not be ready till February. It’s ok, because I knew it when the site said ships in 2-4 months. Transparency at its finest. I ordered some last week that I selected “in stock” in the filter and it’s shipping now! Just ordered more back ordered ammo. It’s fine. I arrange different size shipments so I’m aware of the wait. So don’t be lazy! Read what you’re buying. Optics Planet is awesome. Let’s just keep it our little secret though.
Optics planet is terrible!
This company is disgustingly unethical. Ordered a a sight for them Im that I paid express shipping for instead of opting for the free shipping. Long story short, a week had went by with the product still sitting in their warehouse. I called and left messages trying to get a refund, emailed stating I wanted to cancel the order and receive a refund, since I had ordered the same product from another company over nighted. They disregarded my requests and shipped the product the following Monday anyways, when I had received the product, it came in a hard plastic case from the manufacturer, however, upon opening the trijicon case immediately I noticed deep scratches in the sight exposing the aluminum below the black coating, the battery was already in the sight (trijicon has battery in sealed separate packages) beat up multiple scratches. The sight had obviously had some heavy use. When I tried to get my refund I was met with resistance them trying to charge my account to ship the used product back, and then tell me they would wait 10 days to process my return before sending me a refund. After talking to a manager I was informed my credit would be returned once the item is in transit. They received the return on the 5th of may, Here we are on the 10th and still no refund. When I contacted optics planet they said they issued the refund 2 days ago and my bank was holding the charges as pending. When I contacted my bank they had no pending credits from anything optics planet. This company blatantly stole my money, I’ve received nothing but a headache and wasted time shipping back their product and fighting with them on the phone while they scam other customers. I’m reporting as fraud as they’ve done nothing to make this right and ignore the fact that they are shipping used items listed as NIB on their website and then holding my money hostage. This is the worst experience I’ve ever dealt with ordering online.

Missing Items on App
The first 10 things I searched for using exact names or common search terms that work fine online, and show results online are not found in the app. Embarrassing bug, you had one job optics planet app search, find the item. You can’t find anything, or even get suggested results. Don’t believe me? Get it and search for “trijicon”….nothing.
Waiting
Items in stock. Ordered. Now it's out of stock. Ok. Back in stock. just wondering where my order is? The items I ordered are in stock... Now the order is being fulfilled. Ok. One week later. No shipping, no change.

Item never received
I ordered a scope rail and paid for 3-5 day shipping. It has been over 2 weeks and the item still hasn’t been received. When I noted this in a review on their website they would not publish my review. They then said they would not look into my order issue for 15 business days! Feel like I have been scammed. This was my first, and last purchase from them.
Pricey and horrible shipping
I hate to be completely negative about a company, because Optics Planet does have a vast amount of tactical and hunting equipment. However, they will tell you at checkout that the item’s shipping will be 3-5 days, but after you pay for the item they will show that the item won’t be shipped for a month or two. Also the prices are high in comparison to other tactical shops.
No Scopes on App?
With the website named Optics Planet you would expect to be able to look at OPTICS! Nope. No scopes fro you to see here - like you do n your website. Wasted my time. Maybe not a complete was off time as I read reviews here that tell me all I need to know about their lack of customer service and meaningless shipping dates. Deleting app and buying same thing at EuroOptic.com.
Delayed monthly from May till August
I ordered two items that were in stock. The shipping date kept being pushed out a couple of days before the expected shipping. 3 times this happened and eventually shipping date was set to August
I was in contact with customer support who lied to me and said they knew it was coming in and the changed shipping date would be honored —> rinse and repeat.

Does not work
Had an old version. Could not select back because it was under my clock. Upgraded and now “rifle scope” is not even a category. I can’t even view a scope that is listed in my recently viewed section, and I just viewed it. If I search Leupold it says it cannot find anything and does not auto fill. The company as a whole has gone downhill over the years, like the Biden administration.
They are scammers
They sent me the wrong item and then the site to return it is glitched so you can’t complete it and get a return label to ship it back. Don’t buy unless you want some random stuff and to get robbed. It’s not like I don’t order from other places as well ordered something from classic firearms and cheaper than dirt and it came as ordered high recommend anything else besides them even Walmart lol
Gimmick
The app is a total gimmick/gateway for this biz to collect data and send notifications, etc to clog your inbox.
Note: there are no scopes or ammo available on the app, so it’s essentially a bait and switch by offering 10% off with orders via the app and then not have the same merchandise. Stop tricking people to get your app.
Delete the app and then use a secure browser with VPN to shop effectively.
Great company, bad app
I’ve been buying stuff from OpticsPlanet for years. I’m a very satisfied customer. I finally decided to try the app but I downloaded and deleted it minutes later. The app’s search feature does not work well and it is much easier to search for specific products on the website. The app also does not list their full inventory, as the item I am looking for is offered in three different versions on the site, none on the app. The app may be good for just browsing but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Missing a lot of items found on website
The app only shows certain items from the store. You can not purchase a red dot or holosite for example. Many other apps allow it without issue, so it is disappointing to find the app so useless.

Terrible
Ordered binoculars on Black Friday, paid for 3-5 shipping days. Was told they were gonna be delivered on the 17th of December, nothing. It’s been over a month since I’ve ordered and nothing. Haven’t figured out on how to cancel the order. I will never order from them again.

Very poor communication and order execution! No notice of backordered items. Had to contact them in order to find out 2 of the 4 items were backorder and not just a few days we are taking months! But the worst thing is they had not shipped any part of the order! At this rate the complete hunting season will be over before the items ever get shipped. I had to cancel the back order items to get the items that were in stock shipped? And yet no notice what so ever that this was going on. My look like great deals but it’s not! Stay away!
