I contacted Optima due to tax issues I didn't fully understand myself, not being a tax expert. The salesman lured me in telling me I had a "good case" and "they don't take cases they can't win" and there would for sure be some sort of resolution where I would pay less than what the IRS stated I owed. Not being a tax expert I paid the money which was a huge mistake. For a year they strung me along with a monthly call from someone who had no idea what they were doing to say "we're working on it". They did my taxes for the next year, found no money that I could get in any form of refund that would help my IRS owe amount and that was it. End of services. I complained and they offered me $350 to sign an agreement that I wouldn't smear the company online and called it a refund- of the thousands of dollars I paid basically for someone to do my taxes. In the end they set up a payment plan with the irs that I still had to do all the leg work to finalize, in the end working with the IRS I set myself up a better deal with about an hour on the phone with the IRS agent (who was thousands of times more helpful than anyone I talked to at Optima). In the end I owed much more after dealing with Optima due to the late fees/ penalties and zero positive results from their service
Desired outcome: I would like a reasonable refund of my thousands of dollars as they only service Optima provided was doing my taxes
