Please be aware of these scammers...Do not use this company for your move. They will quote you less price with binding quote and then when you actually decide to move with them they will increase the price and cheat you before the move date. They will trap you and then cheat by saying the price increased suddenly.

It's amazing how quickly they were able to get the job completed. I would highly recommend them. The cost was also much less than other estimates.

Was quoted an amount for "large bulk items". Boxes weren't even mentioned in the quote. Movers came and charged me an additional 1700 DOLLARS! Was given an initial contract that stated my belongings would be delivered in 0-6 days. I haven't received my stuff and it's been 7 days, and dispatch claims they don't have a date to schedule me for delivery and it can take up to 14 business days! Customer service doesn't help. You can't speak to dispatch yourself! After $3000, I am now 400 miles away from my items and not being assisted in fixing my problem.
I was prepared to write a very bad review however, I cannot. The experience I had with this moving company wasn't bad. Frustrating as all ever, but not bad. The salesman might be where the frustration could have been eliminated. Without explaining everything clearly, instead of trying to just make a sale is what led to my issue. Moving from PA to FL, I was aware that there is a 7-14 day delivery window. What wasn't explained is that the delivery window doesn't begin until the day after your first available date. Allowing the salesman to tell me that 3/31 was the best day to have them come get my things for a 4/15 delivery date. I agreed knowing that I wasn't going to arrive until 4/13. Come 4/14, an email was sent to the main office and then I was instructed To contact dispatch. Once I finally got thru to dispatch, I was informed that the first day of loading would be 4/20/4, at that time the delivery would be 2-4 days! Shocked by this news, I flew into a panic then rage. At that point my things were in the hands of people I don't know for approximately 15 days. Infuriated, I waited until 4/20 and reached out to dispatch again and now a different person told me they would be loading on 4/22, notifying me via text messages of the daily delay until 4/26 when things were finally loaded to be delivered. Two days later, 4/28 my things were delivered in tact, accounted for and promptly. My only word of advice is to make sure you are prepared for multiple changes and delays and read your contract. Everyone was friendly and remained professional thru my rampages of anger and noise making. If you want a long distance move to to be professional as well as in line with the competition on pricing, try them. Just don't expect it on the date you desire...

Had to move out of DC and they were amazing! Strong dudes carried all my stuff no problem, and the storage period was a breeze (I had a lot of junk to store!). Everyone was so easy to work with. These people need more attention and customers, and I highly recommend them to anyone in the mid atlantic region. I know who I'm calling next time I move!

I was very skeptical when thinking about hiring a moving company, I was pleasantly surprised when I contacted overland they were friendly and straight forward. When it came time to move they were punctual and clear about the timelines. Next time I move I will definitely use them again!
Overland made our moving process as smooth as possible. They were responsive and on time throughout the whole process. You can tell they value their customers time and business. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend!
I used this moving company to relocate from Baltimore, MD, to Atlanta, GA. I paid an additional $400 to guarantee that my items would arrive within three days. Despite not delivering within the guaranteed 3 days, Overland Van Lines refused to refund the extra $400 I spent for an expedited delivery. The company went so far as to say I was responsible for the failure of a timely delivery because they were not allowed to start the delivery at night. The company also failed to deliver all of my household goods. The majority of my kitchen items were not delivered (including small appliances). As of today, the company has not been able to locate my missing items. After my experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone that needs a moving company.

Although I had confirmed twice with a sales rep that I would not be billed for time that the movers spent driving, I was charged $150 for time on the road, on top of the fuel surcharge ($70) and truck fee ($360). When I told the movers that I would not pay for the travel time because that was what I had agreed to, they told me they were taking my furniture to a warehouse where I would not have access to it unless I paid. 2. The moving truck was almost full with another household's furniture when it arrived at my apartment. While the movers were barely able to cram my apartment's furniture into the truck, I has also informed Overland that I needed to stop at a storage unit to collect the rest of the furniture for my move, which I was told in a preliminary estimate would add around $150-$200 to my moving bill. This stop was clearly written in my moving estimate, clearly understood between me and My sales rep, yet the drivers told me they were unaware that we even had to make the stop. They said they would drive to the storage unit anyways to try, but after over an hour of rearranging items and trying to fit them on, we were not able to pack the items from the storage unit into the truck. I am now in the process of going back to the unit with friends, taking multiple trips in an attempt to move the rest of the furniture myself. Although my furniture in the storage unit was not moved, I was still billed for the time traveling there (The driving time, not the surcharge of the truck fee) and for the time the movers took moving my furniture downstairs and then moving it upstairs when they realized it would not fit. 3. My furniture was not wrapped and many items were damaged (pictures attached). I noticed movers throwing boxes, and even my tupperware was smashed, let alone my glassware. I also noticed a few larger items that were damaged. I saw that only one mover was handling my kitchen table and he was dragging it instead of carrying it. The table is fairly heavy and definitely required two men carrying it, not just one man dragging it. The edges of the table, which is brand new, are now scratched on each side and look ragged. My rug was also dragged on the pavement (it was raining and muddy) and the sides are now frayed and stained (I managed to get the mud stains out with carpet stain remover but some large black marks are still there). My couch seat cushions were dragged and rested on the wet and muddy pavement. I had the couch steamed today so I do not have pictures of the cushions. When I asked the mover not to drag my items they looked at me and laughed at me and continued dragging, which really shocked me. If the furniture was truly too heavy for the movers to carry, they could have at least wrapped it before dragging it. Only my mattress was wrapped. 4. The move took 8 hours to complete. I have a fairly minimalist one bedroom. I moved the same furniture for me last year, minus the dining room table, and it took around two hours to load and two hours to unload. I understand that moving is a VERY difficult job and I honestly would not usually complain about this. However, the way my furniture was treated, the way I was treated after my requests for the movers not to drag my furniture, and the way I was over-billed and threatened, make me less shy about voicing my concerns about this as well. 5. The men charged me a separate "late fee" on top of the regular fee because they said they were not supposed to be working until 10:30 and that they were now in "overtime." When I told them that I was never told about a late fee and that it didn't sound right to me, they informed me that I was now paying them to argue with me and that If I wanted the rest of my furniture I had to pay. At this point it was around 9:20 and I was exhausted and incredibly sad, and honestly a bit afraid of what would happen if I didn't pay the movers, as they had already threatened to take my furniture. I reached out to overland about all the issues and over billing I faced during my move, and was told a manager would reach out to me. I called every day from 11/21 to 12/1 and on 12/1, reached a manager named Marie. Marie refused to talk about my complaint and said we had already been over my claim, but I had never received a call from her and had never talked to her previously. She told threatened that if I sought legal action she would make sure the settlement money came out of the pockets of the sales associates, which I do not believe is the truth. She additionally said that there was nothing overland could do about billing me for the travel time or billing me for the stop where none of my things were moved. In total we were overbooked around $500 and have been forced to dispute the charges on our card.

Working with this company was a nightmare. The men packing my things stole $100 at least right from my purse and the company didn't care at all. Received my furniture and almost every piece was broken. My diamond engagement ring, another diamond ring, and my Apple TV are missing. Can't imagine what else they stole. DO NOT HIRE. Sales rep does a great job making it sound like the company cares and is great, and then doesn't answer emails or phone calls once they have your money. Convinced me against insurance (dumb mistake). I was WAY over charged. Charged for drive time to Baltimore which was not agreed upon because they told me they had a warehouse here in DE. They were a nightmare to deal with, to schedule to have my stuff delivered, didn't take anything seriously about their staff stealing from my purse. And to have brand new furniture broken on top of that is shameful.

My move from Indiana to New Jersey was setup for 6th August and deposit was paid on 20th July with a binding contract from Georgi. I got a call on 3rd August (3days before pickup) from Kevin W with an apology that they are unable to arrange my move on 6th august. As I did not have any choice, I accepted a new date in writing from Kevin and confirmed pickup date between 13-15 august. I got an email stating "Your delivery dates are firmly agreed upon, we promise to pick you up within the delivery window 8/13 until 8/15". Today, 9th August I got a call from Veronica stating the truck has broken down and in the repair shop so we will have to cancel your pickup and refund the deposit. (No option for new pickup date given). Now I will have to look for an alternative with an option of driving 750 miles myself renting *** or find some other options at whatever the cost is.
I understand the contract as there are some unforeseen circumstances but cancelling a pick-up two times. All businesses have profit and loss. So if a truck is broken and you are in the business of moving then arrange an alternative which may be higher and accept the loss or suggest some options to customer. Its frustrating to get an answer "we are refunding the deposit" within the last few days of a move.

I only wish I had done my due diligence more thoroughly before hiring this mover to move my son from Delaware to medical school in Florida. They contacted me, I did not contact them, in what seemed to be a friendly, accommodating company. The original estimate given to me was $1800 and when it was all said and done I was being charged double that amount with hidden charges and fees. The most frustrating thing was AFTER the goods were loaded onto the moving truck is when the driver gave my son they bill of lading for $3800 and he had no choice but be forced to sign or they would "unload his household goods into the parking lot" during a rain storm. It took more than 10 days to get the goods to the new location, after I was told 5-7 days (the excuse later was "because of the holidays") resulting in my son having to sleep on the floor and take intense med school classes sitting on the floor. Once arriving to the new location the driver refused to park in the parking lot resulting in an additional "long distance carry fee" of $150. PLEASE don't fall victim to the same disappointing, with no recourse, experience that I had!

Do not use this company! While the individuals who moved us were nice gentlemen, if you want receive all of your items, do not go with this company. I had at least two boxes somehow not make it during my move. I had broken glasses, furniture has deep scratches, a box with all of my son's x-box games somehow went missing, as well as another box of my oldest son's bedroom which included items which are not replaceable such as his senior year book from last year and years prior, his tassel, graduation hat, etc. Several boxes were received smashed. I was advised by the movers to take my time putting a claim in to make sure the items do not show up as you unpack and you have months to place a claim. I even made the mistake of referring my parents to this company as they were moving at the same time. They also had items not make it to their new house. I moved in on 1/14 and put a claim in for the missing games only on 2/1 . Below is the response I received with regard to my claim Analysis No notations regarding this item were taken at time of delivery, to indicate that it was missing. While shipment was delivered at destination, you should have checked the inventory and notated if you did not receive any of your items. Your statement to which you signature attests, indicates that all items were delivered in apparent good condition. Therefore, this portion of your claim is respectfully declined. I was told to take my time putting in a claim and then I am declined for "not reporting it during delivery." is absurd and unacceptable.

I beg you to not use this service unless you want to bring stress to your life. From beginning to end this service has been so unprofessional. They took 4 hours to have a one bedroom apartment packed and workers not knowing what they were packing or doing. We were completely mislead about the entire move and lied to. They could never give us a real answer as to where our stuff was or when it'd be delivered. On top of all that's nonsense our stuff was delivered 14 business days late of their last day they could deliver. We wasted 3,000 on hotels without having any of our supplies needed to cook, clean, etc. We filed a delayed claim and they had the audacity to decline our claim for no reason. The lady insisted that would get some kindve refund due to the delay. They picked up our stuff July 12th and we didnt receive it until September 6th. That is after the 14 business days delivery window and 18 calendar days. My husband and I called in to see what the reason was for declining our claim and Veronica said "you're more than welcome to take it to court" like what?! You are in the wrong! We shouldn't have to pay an attorney to fight for what you clearly breached contact. We have emails on top of emails to win this, but I don't think that anyone should be put through this, especially during these hard times... On top of everything we have over $2,000 dollars of damages. Had we known this would be this stressful (and we thought well at least we don't have to worry about carrying stuff our selves) well we would have literally made more than a couple trips from Virginia to Florida to have our stuff and not stress if our stuff was either lost or damaged(which they were damaged) Also, once the delivery people came, it seemed they smoked marijuana in the car the entire day, banging our walls with our furniture and wreaked of body odor. DO NOT USE THEM!

My wife and I called in to see what the reason was for declining our claim and Veronica said "you're more than welcome to take it to court" We shouldn't have to pay an attorney to fight for what you clearly breached contact, We had to spend weeks in a hotel and AirBnB because we had nothing...We had conversations and emails saying we would be compensated because of the delay, but when the driver arrived with our stuff he OPENLY admitted he was on vacation for 2 weeks. When they delivered our stuff, the delivery drivers were rude, smelled like marijuana, and horrible body odor. They were supposed to give 24 hour notice but we were called that morning that the delivery was that day, we had to cancel a hotel in which wasnt refunded so we could accommodate the classless delivery service. On top of everything we have over $2,000 dollars of damages. Make no mistake, Overland Van Lines will introduce you to the five stages of grief and before the move is done you'll feel an overwhelming sense of shame. The contract they have you sign all but absolves them of murder. I am trying to save as many as I can with my reviews so here is what you can expect. ***These are real events*** Spoiler alert: 1. Someone from Overland will call the day before the move and tell you the movers are going to arrive at a different time from the one you agreed upon. The first of many surprise attacks. 2. If you confirm the newly and probably inconvenient move out time that day with one of their employees, he will assure you that they will be on time and if they are not on time - call back at 5:00PM EST when they are closed. Very clever indeed. 3. The movers will be late for the newly scheduled move time. You will start to panic and call customer service as recommended to no avail. Remember after all its 5 and they are all gone. 4. Alas the movers arrive late but hey they made it. 5. Communication is minimal with the movers and that's not their fault. They are overworked by the company and English is not their first language. Overland probably increases their margin ten fold by underpaying these guys. 6. The next day you will get the actual price of the move which will never be lower. I would love Overland to show the statistics on the Estimated move price vs actual move price. Complete joke. 7. The verbal agreed upon delivery date is wildly inaccurate. Those stats would also be very sobering. 8. Sit back and wait for the furniture to arrive. weeks, months, years? Will my furniture end up in Afghanistan in the back drop of a Taliban video? I haven't ruled anything out and neither should you if you are using them. I plan to update my reviews with names of employees if necessary to verify my account as well as the state of my furniture if it ever does arrive. Its too late for me but for Christ sake save yourself.

On June 6, pursuant to contract *** that I had made with them, Overland Van Lines arrived in Alpharetta GA to pick up furniture to transport to Humble, TX. Their employee, operating on behalf of the company, is a thief who stole $1,100.00 worth of items from my 75 year old recently widowed sister-in-law. The morally, ethically, and responsible action by Overland Van Lines is, and should be, to replace the loss. They have refused to do so, and indicate that I should try to collect it from the thief after he goes to court. In talking with the police, this is unlikely to ever happen. I would like to point out that the company is bonded for such activities. The company refuses to use their bonding to pay restitution for the stolen items (the employee thief confessed to the police at the scene), and I want them to do so.

I was quoted $1,450 for my move from PA to CA. I was told all devices was included. The movers arrived late, which led to us running to traffic. I was also charged me outrageous prices and had to pay $1,450 in cash for packing supplies. I had to pay the at before leaving PA. Once we reached VA, I has to pay an additional $1,985 before the movers would take my belongings off the truck. In total I paid close to $3,500, way above my quote and the company isn't doing anything to rectify the issue.

This company moved me across company on 7/26. They damaged and lost many of my items. They stoped answering my calls regarding the lost items I moved across country from PA to FL 7/26. Many of the items this moving company moved were damaged in the process. They refused to move my couch in the apartment and we ended up having to throw it away, because my husband didn't have anyone to help him move it. A few items were lost in transit. When I contacted the movers, I was cursed out and harassed by the man who moved us into the apartment. When I contacted management I was told that my items were located and they would be here in a week or 2, August 15th at the latest. It's now November and they've stopped answering me. They damaged my kitchen table and broke my keurig beyond repair. I never received my patio furniture- 2 chairs and a table. A wooden easel, and a wooden doll cradle that was handmade for my daughter.

Everything was labeled, I had shown them around the house and told them explicitly what to bring along. The boxes did look similar, but they WERE labeled. They claimed they "couldn't get a box spring down the stairs" (my not-professional friends somehow managed to get it UP the stairs). They managed to get the mattress filthy somewhere in transit ("we always wrap in moving blankets" is a flat lie, especially since they packing taped a few items of furniture and damaged them - found that out later). Since it was a relatively short time frame and the boxes did look similar, I signed the contract that I was pressured to sign - but didn't have time to triple check the boxes. All I've gotten from them is YOU SIGNED THE CONTRACT - but Overland did NOT do their job.

I recently moved and was provided an estimate of how long it would take. They are way outside of this window and said they cannot get my things to me I recently moved from Delaware to Florida. I am paying thousands of dollars for this move. I was given an estimate of a maximum of 14 days to receive my delivery. It has been way beyond fourteen days and the company is telling me there are no updates. My things are not on a truck and not being transported. I am paying for this service and would like my things. I have literally been sleeping on tile for nearly a month. The company is unable to get me to a supervisor as they state that they cannot connect or give out their phone number. This to me seems ridiculous. They are not giving me any info as to where my things are and being very vague.

I am trying to complete a move from NJ-Florida. The furniture has been picked up from the old residence in NJ & is now being held at a warehouse. I have been trying to coordinate the drop off to the new home. When I call to coordinate, they are extremely rude & demand payment first via credit card over the phone. First of all, my dad I haven't received an invoice via e-mail. I am not going give out a credit card number over the phone - ESPECIALLY without anything in writing. Second, when trying to discuss the charges w/ the individual (Marie Smith from accounting), the cost was simply not adding up. The truck measurements = 26x8x8 which by simple math means the total volume is 1664. She wants to charge for 1950 in volume, insisting per her 30 years experience, 1950 cubic ft of cargo will fit in that truck. After questioning this, she said she would put me on the "refuse to pay" list + add 5% per day payment isn't received. This is unacceptable & must be resolved immediately.

I moved from Virginia to Delaware (interstate move). Lots of damage - broken items even though boxes clearly marked with red marker "fragile". Items were also missing. We contacted Claims department and they sent us filing information document (attached info & form). Document states for interstate moves we have 9 months to file claim for Loss and Damage. Yesterday I was told moving from VA to DE is not considered interstate and I can no longer file claim since I had 30 days for local move not 9 months - they wrote: "Your move was hourly based, picked up and delivered on the same day. Only local jobs are hourly based and done in one day/within the commercial zone/, while long distance jobs are cf based and considered interstate, taking 10-21 business days to be completed." NOT true - interstate by definition means one state to another state. So if someone moves from MD to NY in 1 day (same day) that is still considered interstate. It was not an intrastate move but interstate.

We moved from New Jersey to Arizona in the month of June this year. According to the contract, its clearly mentioned that packing cost is included in the contract amount of $3700 (please see below wordings from contract) but they charged additional $660 of packing charge. The company demanded payment before they would even schedule my things to be moved to Arizona. Our delivery window started on June 20 but the Items were delivered around July 10 using some other carrier. The new carrier just unloaded the items in to our house and they did not even unpack it , which was part of our original contract. Most of the items were broken or not handled properly. I took the photos and when I asked the company, they have asked me to file claims with claims department. I did filed the claim but till now we never received the claim amount of $400 (Claim# 175642). Overall, this company follows the same pattern in charging customers additionally. I need my refund amount of $1060 ($660+$400).

We hired Over land for our move from NJ to GA
We hired Over land for our move from NJ to GA. Our rep is Giorgi B and despite for all the bad reviews we were assured that there won't be any issues. I the beginning we were confirmed the 3 day expedited delivery and at just 2 day before the pickup, we got the email with the date changed to no later then March 31st with the written statement on the binding memo stating that "over land is legally obliged to deliver the items on or before 31st". It is April 1st and when we are calling them, the customer service "Kevin" as I last remembered said the stuff is still in there warehouse with no confirmation of the delivery date. Now whosoever will answer this may come back by saying as per the contract, it will take 1 to 10 business days, however, just above the average time area, there is a clear statement, " Delivery window begins on the first possible date for you to receive your goods (FDA) unless otherwise requested by the customer or stated in the contract." I am attaching docs.

This company lied about their services they stated that I went from 1500 ft.³ to 2100 ft.³ to be moved and demanded payment before they would even schedule my things to be moved to Florida in the window of July 8 through July 14. We met their demands as we spent 11 days in a hotel which cost over $5000 as we had to pay extra for our dogs. I emailed I called and the response was we don't have a delivery date yet we're working on it. Our belongings arrived Monday, July 26 at 9 o'clock in the morning. Sadly though we do not have a DVD, heavy duty handcart, locked security box with important paperwork needed for the home purchase here in Florida, my fathers $5000 solid oak cannon ball bed queen size was replaced by some king size bed that looked a little like his all beat up. Many things were broken beyond repair boxes were destroyed as if they were thrown on a truckAnd when I called to discuss the fact that we did not receive all of our items no one from this company has responded back.

They broke 2/3 of my furniture and more than 2 months haven't compensated me for my losses They were hired to move my furniture and belongings from New Jersey to Florida. It was 1 bedroom apartment. We had an agreement to pick up my stuff at 29th August. They couldn't send a truck and they were late with two days. They picked up my things at 31st August. We had understanding to deliver my stuff at 3rd September but they delivered one week late at 10th September. When they delivered the furniture 2/3 of the furniture was broken. This Broken furniture includes: queen size bed, two dining tables, tv stand, one chair, two floor lamps and many more smaller belongings. They were supposed to assemble the furniture by contract, but since most of it was broken they couldn't do this. On top of all they were asking for tips! When I talked to the company they told me that they will compensate me, but two months later I have not received anything from the company.

My delivery had many broken/missing items. This company lied to me and have ignored my phone calls and emails. No one has followed through to help me When they arrived to help me move, the packers were cussing and angry at me because I was on the fourth floor. They then charged me $595 for the stairs and did not charge my friend who was on the same floor for the stairs. My delivery had many broken and missing items. When the delivery truck arrived to my new home, we noticed all of our big furniture (beds, mirrors, plants, etc.) were missing. The driver said "Yes. The dispatch manager was aware of the missing items". However, no one cared enough to tell me that MOST OF MY FURNITURE WAS MISSING. When told items were broken, the movers laughed in my mothers face. I have emailed and called the managers multiple times. They promised me they would find my missing items and call me back (they didnt). They then ignored my phone calls and emails and would not even send me the insurance claim information. I have been ignored and lied to many times by this company. They hung up on me and ignored my phone calls, then wen we called from a different phone number, they answered. I have yet to have an explanation of where my many missing items are and no one will even send me the information to submit a claim or refund me for the space I paid for which wasnt used.

The movers quoted me initially $2,200 for 350cf. Three personnel came on the day of pickup. They arrived 2 hours late and immediately asked me for $100 each (total of $300). I transferred that amount to them even before they started the moving process. We had some stuff that was not packed into boxes which we were told will be packed into boxes by them. But instead, they just put numbered stickers on them and loaded them into the truck. They had stickers on literally everything, a small umbrella, two small stools that embed into each other. If these loose items were properly packed into boxes, our overall box count would not have been more than 35. Because of this, the overall count of items ended up being 90. The movers are using this number to tell me that our stuff occupied 650cf instead of the quoted 350cf and the new total cost of moving increased to $4559, which is more than double of the initial quote. I called their office, but I was told that without any proof that the stuff was not 650cf, they can't help me. Shouldn't they have pictures of stuff loaded into the truck for verification purposes? Don't they have videos in their warehouses? Why are they asking me proof for the stuff that was loaded into their trucks by their drivers? If they are asking me proof for it not being 650cf, do they have proof of it being 650cf? How can I take their word for it? It could be 250cf too?. As there was nothing I can do at that point, I told them I will take videos and photos when the delivery truck came as proof of the volume of stuff we had. I did that, I showed them the video of our stuff packed inside the delivery truck which clearly showed it was less than 650cf, I'm not even sure if it's more than the initial 350cf they quoted me. I took pictures and videos in front of their delivery driver. They are still not honoring their mistake and fixing this over charging issue. The initial quote was $2200, they charged me a total of $4859.

Negligent customer support during the claims process for a local household move. My move was on August 12th. Cost for the move was $1419 and it was about an 18 mile ride from the old to new home. To this date I have not received any compensation and the insurance company stated the following: "This is to inform you that we are unable to proceed with the handling of your claim with Overland Van Lines LLC for the following reason(s): Lack of authorization to proceed with the claim. Since we are unable to assist you any further, we must refer you back to Overland Van Lines LLC for the handling of your claim. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding." I have made numerous phone calls but they either stated that the person I need to talk to is at lunch or out of the office. They state that I will get a phone call back but it never happens. I am copying and pasting the review I wrote a few months ago via Google: "HORRIBLE! My experience with Overland Van Lines was disappointing. The initial discussion with the relocation consultant was great. I sent the company pictures of all furniture that was expected to be moved and also a map route. The distance of the move from our old home to the new one was 20 miles. All phone contact up to the day of the move was great, I had no issues. The day of the move the movers appeared about an hour late from the expected time. When they arrived, we discussed where all the furniture was located. I also want to mention that most of my furniture was already staged in the garage, a merely 20 ft from where the truck backed up to. The only furniture in the house were the bedroom sets and a few couches. The team exhibited a lack of teamwork, at one point one of the movers refused to listened to the lead when he was directing him for some help. Movers were also distracted with their personal phones instead of actually working. They were not also able to load all of my furniture in the truck, they ran out of room. Disappointing since the company already had pictures on all of the furniture that was part of the move. I had to take the excess furniture myself. It took them way over 6 hours to load the truck and get ready for the drive to the new home. Upon arrival to the new home I was so upset that I told them just to offload the furniture in the garage. Unloading the truck also took them a few hours, shocked since the back of the truck was only a merely few feet from the garage door. The whole move took about nine and a half hours, that was insane. I had a previous move from NJ to MD and that was about 139 miles and the previous moving company I hired did not take 9 hours to complete. And finally, the worse was when the furniture was delivered. Numerous pieces of furniture were broken, missing or completely damaged. Pictures were taken and submitted for insurance claim, still waiting... This has been the worse experience I have ever had for a move. I am prior military and have moved a number of times throughout my career and I will never hire this company again or recommend them."

The company misrepresented their services during their sales call. What was discussed on the call has not been honored. Items have not been delivered. I hired them to do a small interstate move for me (from North Carolina to Connecticut). The sales people scheduled arrangements with me and then sent a follow-up binding agreement which was signed on June 6th. We scheduled a pick-up window of Saturday 6/27 from 10am-12pm and a drop off date of 7/2. On Friday, 6/26 around 3pm, I had a missed call from them and received a text message stating that the pick-up would be delayed until 6/28th. Since this was less than 24 hours before my pick-up and I had already made plans to move out-of-state on 6/28th from 10am-12pm. I called and left repeated messages for the scheduler. On 6/28 at 12 pm, they still hadn't arrived, so I called and was told they would not be arriving until between 3-5pm that day. No one had given me that information until I called to complain. The movers got delayed two more times and finally arrived around 7pm. Once the movers arrived, the truck appeared to be mostly full. I told them that if they thought I had too many things to let me know and I would select a few items not to move because I didn't want to be charged extra. They insisted there was enough room, they just needed to rearrange the truck. There were multiple miscommunications about what items would be taken. I clearly told them that there was a twin sized mattress and queen-sized bed frame upstairs that were to go (and were also on the moving list). Once they realized that the items on the porch were supposed to go, there was a last ditch effort to rearrange the items on the truck yet again. By this time, it was dark and they were using the lights on their cellphones to see. So, I had to make random last minute decisions about what could and couldn't go. This was a hardship for me because I was scheduled to leave first thing the next morning (as my house was scheduled for showings as I am selling it) and my car was already packed full. As soon as they finally packed up, I went upstairs and saw that they had left the twin mattress and queen-sized bedframe. When I called them, the white driver was very frustrated at this point and said he could fit the mattress, but not the queen-sized bedframe. He took the mattress and left, at which point, my cat escaped out the open door and I could hear him swearing outside. The black mover came back in and carefully and calmly took the remaining items. In the morning, I found a metal pole from one of my shelves on the road. Apparently, it had fallen out of the truck as a lot of the reschuffling was done in the dark. In addition, it wasn't until the movers were there that I realized I was being charged 7% for using a credit card. I have been calling them repeatedly to figure out when they will drop off my items, which were scheduled for drop-off on 7/2. After multiple days of getting nowhere, I spoke with Marie, who said the hold up was because I owed additional money because my items took up more space than I had previously arrange for. I refused to pay and she told me the items would not be delivered until I paid, so I had no choice. There is fine print on the contract which in no way matches my conversations with the sales people. Items were picked up on 6/28th and today is 7/7. Sales is misleading in terms of the services company actually provides.

Overall was taken by this company's practices. Had to pay excessive additional fees for small miscellaneous items. Also was misinformed and mishandle. A last minute situation move left us in a very vulnerable position. The inventory was taken over the phone twice. I was asked to name furniture and boxes. No one mentioned that I need to include various items like ironing boards, laundry baskets, tools wrapped in bundles, vacuum, Brooms, flat metal wall hanging, etc. I told them my furniture was large and I had at least 138 boxes. They quoted me early July about $6,300 then Tim sent an email it would be $5100. I already signed with another company. That deal fell through and I was left with a last minute situation. The salesman Raymond called me back and said he could do it for $6500. A binding contract. They said they pad the cubic feet. I did not lie or cheat the inventory included all my main furniture and138 boxes, rugs, xmas tree, etc. They sent a fabulous group of guys the next day. They wrapped things excessively. I had 17 dining chairs wrapped individually. By early evening they began to question if all my items would fit their truck. By late that evening they told us another group would come the next day and pick up items left behind. We had to head down to our new place that nite. So we gave them specific instructions and a key was left. The next group came 6pm and the head foreman barely spoke English. They left an expensive area rug behind even though we told him to take everything in the house. My realtor told me about it the next day but it was too late to get it from the house! Then we had to pay $2500 more for the move. They told me I had too many cu feet but the extra space was mostly due to large sized furniture and NOT inventory left off. The items not included were barely even worth what extra price they charged us. The binding contract meant nothing! Then we had to wait 17 days for our belongings after Raymond told me delivery would be Friday the 7th or Monday the 10th. I called numerous times about a delivery date. They told me they had 10 to 14 business days. Then they tried to charge us $3000 for a shuttle. I had to verify and send pictures to prove our street was able to have a trailer. Finally they delivered on 8/21. They workers were mostly hired from Craigslist. The foreman who collected our final payment stayed on truck and only came in a couple of times was from Overland. One guy was sick and left 2 hours into the move. One guy dragged and left boxes wherever even though I marked and color coded locations. Only 2 other guys did a good job but numerous breaks, scratches, and poorly assembled items was what we were left with. My husband had to help them move some of the heaviest items upstairs. I never worked so hard pulling blankets and layers of paper off of all our furniture. I was physically exhausted, in pain, and emotional ly distraught by this move. I have missing pieces and they tell me they will look for it in the warehouse. But haven't heard anything. They literally ruined heavy furniture that has been moved 5 or 6 times by other companies. I had to pay $8900 + for a horrible stressful inaccurate move. The contract was for $6500. No one even asked how the move went because they know it was a lousy job that cost $2500 more than it should have been. I had at least 6 other quotes. 4 other companies quoted around $6500 to $ 7000. This company is poorly run and deceptive. I should have been guided through the inventory about miscellaneous items. I should also note that at least one person needs to understand English on the team. And lastly, my missing items are a $800 rug, $200 dyson vacuum, $25 step ladder, and $100 bistro table ( they delivered the chairs) I moved 16 times in 43 years, 4 out of state moves. Never have we experienced such stress and left with so much physical labor at age 65. They didn't unwrap anything. The one bed we had to reassemble it was only half done. They charged top price over contract for a poor job.

Destroyed belongings Contracted with Overland Van Lines on 4/16 for a full service, local move. I provided a detailed inventory to their representative, Tim Smith, and was quoted $1,646.00. I signed the agreement and paid the required deposit, $330.00 via credit card, with balance due at time of delivery. Two weeks prior to actual move date, I called Tim once a week to reconfirm terms, dates and time. Each time I was told we were all good, no problems. Date of move -5/14 Movers were late showing arriving at 12:45PM. They begin loading in a haphazard fashion, not breaking down some of our larger pieces. The only discourse between as and them was manner of payment. Which we informed had already been taken care of with the billing office. While the crew of three men were in process of loading our belongings, I receive a text from Lynn Bagley in scheduling department. She stated that drop off for 5/15 had been changed to early morning. I immediately called to advise that early morning would not be possible. We had scheduled for 1:00PM with very specific reasons in mind. I was then informed that they had scheduled a "large move" and would not be able to honor the terms of our agreement. Being left with no other choice I agreed to a change my drop off date from 5/15 to 5/16. With the understanding that nothing would come off the truck until such time as they dropped off to us 5/16 between 8 and 10AM. At 5:20PM on 5/14 the crew of three men, who had been loading our furnishings, abruptly announced that they couldn't fit anything else on the truck and they were leaving. Their exact words were "take it yourself". I called Tim Smith, he told me he would check into it and call me back. He did not. I texted Lynn Bagley and was told there was nothing she could do after hours. They would be in touch first thing the following morning. We were left to offload the remaining contents by giving things away as we had no means to transport and move over no place to transport to. The call on Friday didn't go well. I spoke with Marie who represented herself as the Office Manager. She claimed to have spoken with the General Manger and they had concluded that I had misrepresented the contents to be moved. They further claimed that there we only a few items left behind, and we could have moved them ourselves. Not satisfied with their position I told Marie I would like to speak with the General Manager. I was told he did not want to speak with me. I asked his name; I was told Raymond. I asked his last name and was told she couldn't give me his last. Not please at all with the way things were going I was hopeful that delivery on May16th would be a better experience. As such I asked Marie if I could pay the balance due. She gladly ran the charge on my credit card. I was hoping my experience would get better. Delivery Date- 5/16. Promised Delivery time between 8:00-10:00AM. Arrival time 11:20AM. New Crew, DIFFERENT TRUCK. Clearly our furnishings had been moved from one truck to another. As they began offloading, we were struck to the core with share and unadulterated horror. Our possession had been destroyed. They were filthy and grimy and appeared to have been dragged through dirt and mud. I started sending photos to Lynn at Overland. Again, nothing to do it was a weekend, wait until Monday morning. Monday- 5/18 - Waited for contact from Overland...nothing. No contact until such time as I forwarded a three-page letter of complaint. Upon receipt, Marie the office manager sent an email directing me to Isabella in claims. No one in the office could speak with me as I intended to file a claim.Sensing that Overland had no intent of acting amicably. I reached out to my credit card company, requesting a chargehold and an investigation. Currently at a standstill as Overland will not permit me to file a claim because of the chargehold. I beg you to not use this service unless you want to bring stress to your life. From beginning to end this service has been so unprofessional. They took 4 hours to have a one bedroom apartment packed and workers not knowing what they were packing or doing. We were completely mislead about the entire move and lied to. They could never give us a real answer as to where our stuff was or when it'd be delivered. On top of all that's nonsense our stuff was delivered 14 business days late of their last day they could deliver. We wasted 3,000 on hotels without having any of our supplies needed to cook, clean, etc. We filed a delayed claim and they had the audacity to decline our claim for no reason. The lady insisted that would get some kindve refund due to the delay. They picked up our stuff July 12th and we didnt receive it until September 6th. That is after the 14 business days delivery window and 18 calendar days. My husband and I called in to see what the reason was for declining our claim and Veronica said "you're more than welcome to take it to court" like what?! You are in the wrong! We shouldn't have to pay an attorney to fight for what you clearly breached contact. We have emails on top of emails to win this, but I don't think that anyone should be put through this, especially during these hard times... On top of everything we have over $2,000 dollars of damages. Had we known this would be this stressful (and we thought well at least we don't have to worry about carrying stuff our selves) well we would have literally made more than a couple trips from Virginia to Florida to have our stuff and not stress if our stuff was either lost or damaged(which they were damaged) Also, once the delivery people came, it seemed they smoked marijuana in the car the entire day, banging our walls with our furniture and wreaked of body odor. DO NOT USE THEM!
