Oasis Moving & Storage Missing items, double c/c charges, and damage.

Move from Phoenix to Austin.
The original quote (from what we didn't realize was moving broker) was 5634.00... then after the final inventory (which was 100% accurate if you look at the lists, added 3127.00 to the move, which we were okay with). On the day the movers came (Oasis Moving) they walked through the house and said it would be about 14, 000.00 which we were hesitant to pay, but could not get a hold of either you or the moving company, so with the house closing the following day, we said okay... at which point they charged our credit card. When they were done moving about 6:00 pm, they came in and told us that their boss claimed that they needed another 5000.00 because there was more furniture. Remember, they had already looked at all the furniture and boxes prior to loading. We told them no, just unload the truck, and they refused to do so. At this point we felt as though we had no choice, our belongings were being held hostage, so we paid the extra charges. We can show that they did charge our credit card twice, once in the morning and once after they finished loading.

With many of the boxes (74 out of 82), it is easy to see why things are missing and/or stolen. A family heirloom, dining room set, along with the chairs have been broken into pieces…we are not even sure how you could break these solid wood pieces and destroy them so badly. We received a desk with legs and no top, broken end tables/nightstands. Items, which were family heirlooms, such as etched glass pieces, my parent's wedding bone China (it survived a move from England) is missing as well as my husband's father's military funeral flag (these items were displayed on the hutch). Two night stands are missing, 8 boxes in total, all the mattresses have holes and/or tears in them as do our two leather chairs. The TVs came without any of the hardware to hook them up (stands, electrical plugs, and screws). The kitchen table was missing the hardware, and the frames for what is left of the beds were all bent. My jewelry, including my grandmother's pearls, engagement ring, and about thirty necklaces and bracelets are missing, along with diabetic supplies. The master bed could not be set up because all the support pieces were missing. Most of the furniture is scratched or gouged, leather chairs are ripped, there is really not one single item that came in one piece.

They tried to give us a mattress and box spring, a massive cat climbing thing, and tables which were not ours and we had to threaten to call their supervisor about them leaving trash prior to them taking it back. We received many items that did not belong to us, when I called the delivery people back they said they would return for them and never did (we did not notice until we started trying to unpack). There is so much more that I could say about this experience, but just from what I have written you can see the experience was horrific.

This company lies and steals, and then when you try to speak with them, they yell at you and repeatedly hang up on you. As with others, we do plan to take this through the court systems and also will be filing with the DOT. Please take extreme caution if this company shows up to move you, giving them one star is a stretch.

Desired outcome: Find missing boxes, return missing items, repair furniture, and reimburse the double charge on the c/c.

Oasis Moving & Storage Moving Services

September, 2015 Oasis Moving and Storage sent a truck to my home in Mooresville, NC to pick up my stuff. Mostly I had boxes and one bedroom set. They came two days earlier than the day that was scheduled so I was rushed into finish packing and unable to watch them put my stuff on the truck, but what was I worried, I only had boxes, plastic bins and a bedroom set. When I called before the 30 days was up, I thought my stuff was in Las Vegas where I was relocating to...however, my stuff was in Florida! What the hell. A week later I get a call that my stuff is ready to be delivered. I told them it will be a simple delivery to a storage place. They asked that I make sure an 18 wheeler could fit in and I did that. When they got to the storage place they stated they couldn't turn in and would have to carry the stuff from up the street or use my truck to transfer boxes. This was an attempt to get more money from me because they would charge an additional amount for every so many feet they had to transport the boxes. So I used my truck which was ridiculous. Upon seeing my boxes, I was livid...they were all smashed to the point some were open. My bedroom set was a mess...the night stands are all cracked up and OMG my mattress wasn't even covered. It was partially wrapped with a garbage bag! Same with my box spring! The attitude of the Oasis Movers was horrible. They acted like I did something wrong and the guy was even swearing at me! When I opened the boxes of course I had lots of broken glass and things missing! It is ridiculous! I did a review on Yelp and when I looked at the others, I was in total shock as to what I was reading. OASIS MOVING IS A TOTAL SCAM.

Oasis Moving & Storage Crooks Hiding Behind the Carmack Amendment !!!!!!!

After a request via their website for my cross-country move. I received a quote of $1, 100 from Oasis Moving and Storage. In a phone conversation, I gave explicit description of the items involved in my move. The quote was adjusted 3 times and then finally agreed upon (contract signed) for the amount: $2, 290 (based on cubic footage). I paid a deposit of $800 several weeks prior to the move date and was told the balance would be due in cash upon delivery of my items to my destination. This move involved a pick up from 2 different locations (which was made very clear to them). The movers arrived 5 hours late at the first stop and showed up with a truck 1/2 full of someone else's move when we were promised (as their company guarantee) a 24' truck dedicated solely to our move alone. In addition, one of the labors had his personal mattress & box spring in the truck and several large cardboard boxes and blankets taking up additional space, which were not used to assist in my move. Before they loaded the first item (which was a large item; piece of gear) onto the truck at the first stop, they demanded an additional $600 in cash (said they had no idea that the first item was part of the move - WE MADE THIS VERY CLEAR TO THE LADY WHO SECURED OUR CONTRACT; Bonnie Nadel). I complied; drove to the bank and pulled out the cash for the movers and gave it to them. Before they even arrived at my apartment (2nd stop) and had the opportunity to see the rest of my belongings (for a 1 BR apt move), they indicated it would be an additional $4, 000 (for a total of $5, 400). The laborer/driver; Angelo Perez was so frustrated at one point that he threatened to drive off (with my first item in his truck) and then after breaking the news that it would be $5, 400 versus our binding quote of $2, 290, stated that there are high value items here and if you want them delivered...you will pay. (Isn't that extortion?). Okay so...fast forward. It's well over a month later - they've been paid in full and they still have all of our items (including the items I need to make my living). Their contract stated the items would be delivered 1-18 business days and here it is 43 days later. I've tried to contact Oasis Moving & Storage to inquire as to the status of my move and they are not responding. Further...there are hundreds of complaints on a site called Topix (link is at the bottom of this complaint). There are many stories very similar to mine - some of which are very sad and involve victims who were taken advantage of due to a death in the family or disability. Oasis Moving and Storage are nothing more than predators who are hiding behind the 'Carmack Amendment'. They are true crooks and it saddens me that they've been getting away with this since 2004! The Better Business Bureau and the American Moving and Storage Association are both verrrrry familiar with this company and have received numerous complaints, as have several other governing bodies/agencies pertaining to the moving/storage/trucking industry. And yet...nothing is being done. . These people must be stopped! http://www.topix.com/forum/city/las-vegas-nv/T9DNUO53OSJ1D9MLU#comments

Oasis Moving & Storage Unethical billing practices

I contacted this company to get pricing on moving some boxes from CA to FL. I was asked for my credit card information to supposedly secure my spot on their truck. I explained that I did not want to be charged until I got a chance to review their contract and the terms. I was assured that there would be no charges until they received a signed copy of the contract by fax from me.

After reading their contract, I decided that I did not want to proceed with this moving company, called them and they explained that I would I would be charge a deposit of $517.00. I asked them how and why they felt justified in charging me when at no time did I authorize a charge to my credit card. The person said “Call your bank and dispute it”

This company is unethical to say the least.

Using the details this customer furnished in her commentary we were able to locate the file.

According to our records, Lisa in fact postponed her move, and did not cancel it altogether. She never contacted our Customer Service Department nor did she request a refund for the move. In fact, we have no record whatsoever of speaking with her since her postponement. Our scheduling department has tried numerous times to contact her to reschedule her pickup but none of our messages, either by phone or email, have received a response from her.

All but the $94 non-refundable deposit can be refunded to the card on file if she wishes to cancel her order altogether.

We do notify customers in advance of scheduling of our payment terms, and it is reiterated in the contract as well as in their paperwork on pickup.

If this customer has the name of the person who reportedly suggested to her that she "dispute it" we will be happy to deal with that employee directly, however, we have no record of her calling in to us at all.

Oasis Moving & Storage Do not use them

My wife and I contacted several moving companys in the Dallas area. We were to do a short move and decided to use Oasis Moving. We were told that 3 movers would come out to load and move out furnishings. The day of the move they showed up with small trailor instead of a truck as promised and only 2 men. We moved and when we got to our new location we discovered that we had damage on a antique desk, a dresser mirror and a wall mirror. In addition we had a speaker stand that just disappeared. We contacted the owner Talley and was told that repairs would be done. When the repaair person arrived he called the owner and described the repairs needed. THe owner then decided not to do the repairs but insted the pay us 60 cents per pound for our damage to save his company money, DO NOT USE OASIS MOVING IN THE DALLAS TX AREA!

Oasis Moving & Storage Horrible company. DO NOT USE

There is not enough room to list the things that went wrong due to using this company. They were days late for both delivery and pick-up. They charged over $200 for extras, including the "long" distance although they were parked right in front of the front door and the "extra" stairs, even though it was a regular single flight that the rep had already assured me would be standard.

They were unprofessional and threw boxes and laughed as they accidently dropped boxes from the truck to the ground. Needless to say, many items arrived broken.

They tried to charge extra again upon delivery. This time I told them it was fine, but it was coming out of the tip. They quickly decided they would take the tip instead.

Furniture was ripped and broken. Pieces were missing. Dishes and every single picture frame were broken. When I filed a claim, I was offered $100 for over $2000 in damage.

All calls have gone unanswered regarding a referral fee that was promised. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are unprofessional, and your stuff will end up broken, damaged, or missing. Expected dates of delivery are a laugh.

Oasis Moving & Storage they lost all of my belongings

I used oasis moving and storage company to move my belongings, including many things my recently deceased mother passed down to me, and they lost all of my belongings. They were supposed to deliver my belongings in ten business days. It was a month later and I only recieved things they were not supposed to bring. The only good thing they brought was my son's bed. everything else is gone. I have called and called only to be ignored or placed on indeifinate hold by a man that cannot speak english as a punishment for me not being able to understand him. I was lied to. They jacked up the price, stating that my washer, dryer, refrigerator and stove increased the weight of the load. I never recieved my washer, dryer, refigerator and stove. It was all left in my old house. Alo left were three valuble paintings. They refused to credit me or do anything else about this and cannot tell me where they rest of my belongings are. My mom had a double set of bone china that she got in 1952 as a wedding gift and they lost the majority of that. I got maybe 8 peices of that set and all of it was broken or chipped or damaged. After a month of being put out by oasis moving and storage I get a call saying they are 30 minutes away and that I had to pay a "fuel surcharge" and I had to pay the driver so much money in cash so the driver had money. When the driver finally arrived, past 11:00 P.M. he could not back his truck down the driveway and tore out parts of our neighbors front yard. He was here until 1:30 am! teh he sat at the end of out road all night with his truck running, keeping us all awake and making everyone very nervous. He stayed there for the rest of the night. Do not use this company, in fact I doubt they really exsist. Every time I called I got what sounded to me like someone's personal voicemail, or I recieved a message that said the number I was calling did not except calls frmo the number I was calling from. Do not use these people. I am currently disputing this and this may end up in court due to the things they lost and putting me out for a month. I never signed thier contract as I was not comfortable wtih it. This place is a rip off.

THIS COMPANY IS BAD NEWS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. The movers damaged numerous pieces of our furniture, including family heirloom furniture, lost pieces of other furniture, broke items that THEY packed including our television, stacked heavy boxes atop boxes that were clearly labeled "Fragile." The company's insurance covered only a small fraction of the damage THIS COMPANY did to our belongings which the owner then neglected to pay out to us. We've moved many times across the years, even cross-country, and I have NEVER seen a company this corrupt nor an owner so careless about his customers and the things they hold valuable.

From what I Understand it is the practice of all of these moving companies. I used Seven crowns moving to go from NYC to SC. Had it not been for my cunning eye when they were delivering my belongings more then half of my stuff would have remained on the truck and would have driven right off my lawn never to be seen again.

Though that didn't help me to recover the belongings that never made it on to the truck in the first place.

My children and I recently started our own business, of course it was a lot of our pertinent equipment that is missing, and my kids freaking TV! There are clothes, jewelry all sorts of things that never made it to SC. Does anyone know what I can do to get compensation?

Well Kelvin...your probally an Oasis employee too.
Sorry but I have figure out how everyone's stuff is broken and missing.

When they delivered my stuff. It was in a different moving truck. So everyone your stuff that you watched them load into the truck. It's moved. I had my items loaded into a small camper being hauled by an F-150. When it showed up at my new place, it was in a bigger truck with someone elses. I also found a duffel bag that was not my husbands. I handed it to the guy and he said to his buddy. "hey we found the bag the guy was asking for" WTF!?!?!
and not all my stuff came...i'm missing a tub full of blankets.. a small box with my sons baby clothes from his first year and my husbands hoodies...i'm pretty sure there's more but that's what caught my attention

oh and another thing...when the guys installed my dryer...i first told him to make sure that to use the right cord because Texas and NC have different plugs...so he took the plug that was left in there from Texas and the cord for NC and tried to combine them...making a big spark...almost electricuiting him and making the power go out for the whole apartment...dumb ###...guess the guy needs to understand english before he does stuff...I should have done it myself!

so i called the emergency number for the apartment. and they were able to fix it...

also i would like to add...for the Oasis Movers Employee's that read this...YOU DO NOT PUT TAPE ON WOOD! ESPECIALLY CHINA CABNEITS!
and yes i may go to hell for this but your employee's need to learn ENGLISH!

I read the complaints in here and also the comments, i am seriously confused. Some sound like they have a personal score to settle with the company and some sound like the employees of the company trying to firefight the companies reputation. And now for the real reason i am writing this post.

I used 'an' Oasis moving company for my packing needs and i got a good enough service, that i would expect from a moving company. And i am a kind of person who doesn't expect much. They did their job and i paid their money. But then when i was searching for their numbers online i realised that there are more than 1 Oasis Moving Company. What i see here is a confusion as there are 3 oasis moving companies.

The moving sercvice I availed from was http://www.oasismoving.com/ and the two others which i found has similar names are http://www.oasismovers.com/ and http://www.oasismovingco.com/. So maybe the bad reviews are of these companies and could be that the good reviews are also of these companies...u never know. I added my 2 bits so that i spread the word of the good service that i recieved.

Oasis picked up my stuff Aug 28th and as of Oct 11th still havent delivered it and ever time I call them to find out when it is going to be delivered they LIE to me. According to my contract they are 10 days late and still no truthful answer about where my property is and when it will be delivered. After reading the Google posts I worry about the condition my property will be in if it ever arrives.
Do not use Oasis, they are the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of doing business with.

Linda, you are full of ###. You're an Oasis employee!

Did you even read their complaint?!?

It's ridiculous what this person has to go through to get their personal belongings! And it's ridiculous how many laws Oasis breaks over and over. I don't think this customer was talking about adding items without having to pay for them. Did you provide this customer with a copy of the weights after they were ran? And why won't you guys help this customer get their belongings back? If what this person's saying about never signing your contract is true, then you guys are in serious trouble because that can be considered theft. And don't think you're safe from a criminal case. You're a corporation and it looks like a class action suit is already forming.

Oasis Moving & Storage Rude and unprofessional service

My complaint involves a moving company that has no respect for its customers and is able to treat people as poorly as they feel with no consequence.

The fact that over a $1000.00 worth of damage was caused in a recent move was secondary to the fact that this company has a record of shouting at a customer, hanging up on them and accepting no responsibility for the headache caused due to a lack of organization and poor management on their part.

The worst part is that notifying organizations like the Better Business Bureau and American Moving and Storage Association does no good. The moving company clearly does not care who complains about them and sees no reason to contact the client to rectify the problem. Once they have got your money you are long forgotten. AMSA, on the other hand, only wants to get involved if you are prepared to seek arbitration and they can make a buck of their own. At the end of the day it is the consumer that suffers with no hope of justice. Watch out for this company is my advice!

I moved right after the death of my mother I hired Oasis moving and storage to pack and move my things. They then refused to deliver my things, wanting more and more money, saying they did not know where my things were and on and on. Over a month and 2800 dollars later I finally got my things...only a fourth of them! They lost almost all of my belongings including priceless things left to me by my recently deceased mom. I had a man contact me after hearing about this stating he was a lawyer and people were going to do a class action suit..it never happened. I am STILL out my things to the tune of over 20, 000 (twenty thousand dollars) plus the priceless things my mother left to me including limited edition kinkade paintings among other rare paintings. Oasis moving and storage resued to do anything about this. I dealt with a man named Ty. I was taken advantage of during my time of grief and robbed by oasis storage and moving. I don't understand why nothing has ever been done! What they do it take your things and put them in storage then make you wait.then they call and say they want more money if you ever want to see your belongings again. They make you pay more and more and more. I have suffered a great deal of trauma over all of the priceless things my mother left me that they sold and I will never see again. Its like extinguishing any evidence that she was ever alive and collected all of the precious things she did. shame on oasis moving and storage! someone needs to shut them down and get either my things back or the monetary value of them! I have a witness to everything that oasis moving and storage did to me as well. this is just wrong!
