My flight PK 0261 was delayed on 26/02/2024, this was travelling from Islamabad to Abu Dhabi (AUH), due to this I was unable to get on to the connecting flight Etihad Airways EY 0015 travelling from Abu Dhabi to Manchester (UK).
I was informed I had know choice but to wait for the next flight and had to purchase a new ticket.
I am ill and had nowhere to go and suffered greatly. No care was taken to assist me when it was not my fault.
I did complain to Etihad and they informed me PIA was responsible and to forward the complaint to yourselves. Eithad response is below:

Dear Mrs. Begum,
I am sorry to read that your flight to Abu Dhabi was delayed and this affected how you plan your trip.
As you may be aware, Etihad Airways has arrangements with other carriers known as "Code Shares". This means that even if you have a reservation with Etihad, another carrier may operate the aircraft.
On this particular occasion, flight PK261 was operated by PIA in codeshare with Etihad Airways. In line with the airline agreement, any problem relating to ground services or flight operations must be managed by the operating carrier. For this reason, since the delay was caused by PIA, Etihad is not in a position to offer compensation or refund of additional costs incurred due to the flight disruption. I invite you to contact PIA directly as they are in a better position to address your concerns.
With regards to the refund of the unused segments of your booking, the same can be processed in line with the terms and conditions of the ticket you have purchased. As your purchasing contract is through a travel agent, they have to apply for the refund directly in their system and also update you on the refund status. Please follow up with them for further assistance.
