As employee
I was told the cashier position wasn't working because of a racist statement made by a customer to me because I was black. The manager and district manager were there and took the customer's side. I was racially profiled in the building because I was the only black woman working in the store, Manage of the store didn't help because she was racist as well when the man was yelling and cursing me out about an order he was confused about the pick two. The cashier's training was not clear and the manager blame me for not understanding the register. She had an attitude because she had to explain the changing of the summer meals. The manager use another worker in the store to explain and the pre-line worker was racist as well. I was the only black woman in the store went the majority of the customers were black in the store. Most customers want free food if their gift cards was empty and the manager wouldn't give them a free cookie. When the district manager was there she would be angry when I ask her a question. I believe I was racially profiled to be harassed by private complaints and an unhappy manager who had a problem helping me understand the process of working there.
Desired outcome: I want to be transferred to another store and I asked the manager to transfer me to resolve the problem. I wanted to work in another store where there are people who aren't discriminating against my color.
Out of a lot of food
We went to Panera Bread on East Main St in Spartanburg SC and they were out of a lot of food. We ordered grilled cheese and a bowl of tomato soup. They did not have the bread for the sandwich and the bread you get with the soup. They made our sandwiches with something that looked like a bun. I like to put the baguette in my soup but they were out. I thought...

Panera Bread was a great place for me to dine in. They had this amazing Tortellini Alfredo pasta, which was my absolute favorite, and their cookies were to die for. I was in love with their food and couldn't see anything wrong with it (although I thought the prices were a bit high). But then, things started to go downhill. It all started when I went to order my regular Tortellini Alfredo with a Pepsi on the side, and the cashier told me that they no longer sell that item. I was shocked and couldn't believe what I was hearing. I stood there for a good thirty seconds, trying to process what had just happened.
Since that day, every visit to Panera has been a disappointment. They got rid of my beloved Tortellini Alfredo a year ago, and now they no longer have the regular Mac and Cheese. Instead, they only have Broccoli Mac and Cheese. Who in the world eats that? The service is mediocre for the price, and the menu keeps getting worse.
I keep coming back to Panera in hopes that things will get better, but they never do. I'm sorry to say this, but it's time for me to break up with Panera. We had some good times, but it's time to move on.
Disappointing Experience at Panera Bread: Ruined Recipes, Small Portions, and Watered-Down Soup
I gotta say, I'm pretty fed up with Panera Bread. I used to be a huge fan of Paradise Bakery, but ever since Panera took over, everything has gone downhill. They've totally ruined all of the amazing recipes that Paradise Bakery used to have, and even when I do go back to Panera, I'm always disappointed in some way or another.
Last week, I went to the Panera on Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria, AZ, and that was the last straw for me. I ordered a pick 2 combo with a chicken walnut sandwich and a corn chowder. When I got my order, I noticed that I didn't get a pickle with my sandwich, and I didn't get a baguette with my soup. But honestly, those were just minor things compared to what came next.
When I opened up my sandwich, I was shocked to see that there was only about a tablespoon of chicken walnut salad on it. I mean, seriously? And when I went back through the drive-thru to ask about it, they told me that that's just the amount that Panera allows. What a joke.
But it gets worse. When I finally got home and opened up my soup, I was horrified to see that it was basically just watered-down chowder. It was almost clear, and definitely not the thick, creamy chowder that I was expecting. It was completely flavorless and just tasted like someone had poured a can of generic soup into a cup. And to top it all off, I realized that they had forgotten my pickle and baguette.
Honestly, I'm so over Panera Bread. They've really let this place go, and I don't think I'll ever go back. It's just disgusting how they've cheapened everything and made the portions smaller while increasing the prices. I wouldn't recommend Panera to anyone, and I definitely won't be saying anything good about them anytime soon.
Unprofessional Behavior at Panera Bread in York, PA: A Customer's Review
I recently visited the Panera Bread location on Carlisle Road in York, PA and had a less than satisfactory experience. When I arrived, I noticed that there were four soups sitting on the counter with bread. A lady came in to address the issue, and I overheard the staff asking Erin, the shift manager, to put the soup back in the pot. I decided that I did not want any of that food in my order as it had been sitting out for over three minutes.
As I was talking to my son, Erin asked me what I was saying. I explained that I was talking to my son and repeated that the food that had been sitting out should be thrown away. Erin began to get smart with me, and I told her that what she was doing was wrong and not okay. The conversation ended, but Erin continued to argue with me. I decided to leave the store, and Erin followed me, trying to take my order out of my hand. I told her that she was wrong for following me, and she threatened to call the police. I told her to go ahead, but she continued to follow me to my car, still on the phone with dispatch. She claimed that I had threatened her, which was not true, and I left for work.
An hour later, the police arrived at my job and banned me from all Panera Bread locations. I was shocked and disappointed by the way that Erin handled the situation. I understand that mistakes happen, but the way that she treated me was unacceptable. I hope that Panera Bread takes this incident seriously and trains their staff to handle situations like this with more professionalism and respect for their customers.
Disappointing Experience at Panera Bread: Lukewarm Chili and Poor Customer Service
I've been to Panera Bread before and I always say I won't go back, but somehow I always end up there. This time, I decided to order a cup of turkey chili and a cup of hot tea. I paid $7.59 for my meal, which I thought was a bit pricey for just a cup of chili and tea. When I received my order, I was disappointed to find that the chili was barely lukewarm and tasted like it had been sitting in the pot all day. The tea was also not warm at all. I had to ask the girl at the counter to get me some hot water from behind the counter, but even that wasn't hot enough to warm up my tea.
When I finally tried the chili, it was still not hot enough for my liking. I had to take it back to the counter and ask them to heat it up. To my surprise, they told me to heat it up in the microwave under the coffee counter. I couldn't believe it! At Panera, you have to wait on yourself, clean up after yourself, and even cook your own food. Yet, they still expect you to leave a tip. No one apologized for the inconvenience, and no one seemed to care that my food was not hot enough.
As I looked around the restaurant, I noticed that the employees were just standing around behind the counter with nothing to do. They could have been cleaning the slop off the walls, making an attempt to clean the floor, or wiping down the tables. Instead, they just stood there and watched as customers struggled to heat up their own food.
I couldn't help but think to myself that I should have gone to Chick-fil-A instead. At least there, I could have had a hot sandwich, and if there was something wrong with it, they would have apologized and made it right. That never happens at Panera. I left feeling disappointed and frustrated with my experience.
Overall, I would not recommend Panera Bread to anyone looking for a hot meal and good customer service. My order number was 488-061 at the 3895 Medina Road, Akron Ohio store.
Panera Bread: New Management Running Store into the Ground
I used to work at Panera Bread for two years and the managers were the best. However, when new management came in, the store went downhill. The lobby is hardly ever open because they can't keep staff. The new GM is running this store into the ground and we've lost a lot of our regular guests who stopped coming in. This store used to be great to work for until the new management team ran it to hell and back. It seems like corporate doesn't even care what's going on in this store, even though it's been brought to their attention several times. This store is losing so much money that it's not even funny.
When I was a GM for another store, we were taught that sales are what keep a company going and that guests always come first. At this Panera, they open the lobby when they want and they never open at the same time. It's no wonder why guests no longer want to come in. If corporate doesn't step in and do something soon, I see this store going under. They keep using soups longer than they should and after two days with their meat that should go in the trash, they just rebag it into another bag. They need to get their old managers and staff back from when I first started because one thing is for sure, the old GM would pull this store right back up to where it was because she cared about her staff and store.
Corporate, you really need to step up and take control. It's time to bring back the old management team who knew how to run this store properly. The current management team is running this store into the ground and it's not fair to the staff or the guests who used to love coming here. Please do something before it's too late.
Disappointing Experience at Panera Bread Willowbrook: Burnt Sandwich, Tiny Soup, and Poor Customer Service
I went to Panera Bread at the 7165 Kingery Hwy, Willowbrook, IL location and ordered the new teriyaki chicken sandwich and soup to go. I was excited to try it out, but unfortunately, my experience was not great. I had to wait for 35 minutes to get my order, which was already a bit frustrating. While waiting, I saw the staff open the oven door, but they didn't take out what was inside, and it looked like it was burning. This happened around 1:50 pm on 7/16/2020, so they can check their cameras to confirm.
I assumed that whatever was in the oven was thrown away, but to my surprise, they wrapped it up and gave it to me along with my order. I only found out about this when I got home and saw that my sandwich was burnt and black on the edges and one side. There was hardly any filling, and I couldn't even tell what kind of chicken it was. It definitely didn't taste like teriyaki, which was what I ordered according to my receipt. To make matters worse, they didn't even check the sandwich type on the packaging.
As some other reviewers have mentioned, the soup was tiny, which was disappointing. I wish I had read the reviews before going there. I paid $7.40 for a 5-inch sandwich, which was not worth it. In comparison, Subway is much better. Their footlong sandwiches are twice the size, have a lot more filling, are toasted light brown, and cost less. Subway footlongs are usually on sale for $5, which is a great deal.
I tried calling Panera Bread to complain, but their phone line had a non-stop message, and I couldn't even speak to anyone by pressing 5. So, I called their catering service, and they said a manager would call me back. However, it's been over 5 hours, and no one has called me back yet. This is unacceptable customer service.
Overall, my experience at Panera Bread was not good, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you're looking for a good sandwich, go to Subway instead. I will let everyone know about my experience when I go back to that location.
Terrible Service at Panera Bread in Rosenberg, Texas - Avoid This Location!
Panera Bread has some *amazingbread, especially their sourdough bread. However, it's not always easy to get your hands on it. I recently visited the Panera Bread in Rosenberg, Texas, hoping to buy a Superior Sourdough loaf. When I walked in, I saw the bread sitting on the shelf and was excited to make my purchase.
But then, things took a turn for the worse. There was only one service attendant in the store, and they were busy talking to someone at a table. I walked up to the counter and waited, but no one came to help me. I stood there for a while, hoping someone would notice me, but no luck. The service attendant continued to chat with the person at the table, completely ignoring me.
After a few minutes, I gave up and left. I've been to this Panera Bread location a few times before, and the service has always been terrible. I don't understand how they can stay in business when they ignore customers who are trying to give them money.
Instead, I went to Kroger and bought my second favorite bread, a *deliciousRosemary Olive Oil bread that only Kroger makes. I won't be going back to that Panera Bread location, and I hope others will avoid it too. In my opinion, Panera Bread doesn't deserve to be in business at that location.
I give them six months before they go out of business. It's a shame because their bread is really good, but the service is so bad that it's not worth the hassle.
Disappointing Experience at Panera Bread in Middleburg Hts.: Rude Employees and Incorrect Orders
Me and my family decided to check out Panera Bread on Bagley Rd. in Middleburg Hts., Ohio. We arrived at around 5:10pm on September 23, 2021. The cashier who took our order didn't seem to know much about the teriyaki dish, specifically whether it was made with white or dark meat. She called out to another employee, but they didn't know either. I was left standing there, feeling a bit frustrated. I asked if anyone knew what was in the dish, and the cashier simply responded with a "no". So, I decided to play it safe and ordered a BOWL of soup for myself and my son.
While waiting for our food, I noticed a blond-haired girl come out of the back wearing gloves. She took a rubberband and put her hair up in a ponytail. I made sure she wasn't going to be handling our food. Unfortunately, none of the employees, including the manager, wore name tags, so I don't know any of their names.
When we received our food, I noticed that my soup looked more like a cup than a bowl. I compared it to my son's container, and it was definitely smaller. I didn't receive a receipt, so I couldn't double-check my order. I went back to the counter and spoke to a young man who was making orders. He had long hair past his chin and wasn't wearing a hairnet. He looked up my order and told me that I had ordered a cup of soup, which I never do. The "manager" then accused me of lying. I was extremely upset at this point and told them that I had ordered a BOWL and that it wasn't my fault that the girl who took my order put it in wrong. Eventually, they gave me what I had originally ordered.
Overall, I had a terrible experience at Panera Bread. The employees were rude and ignorant, and the manager didn't seem to care about customer service. I will never go back to this location and will be reporting them for health violations. It's disappointing to see such nasty people working there.
Disappointing Experience at Panera Bread in Southlake, TX: Late Order, Mixed Up Food, and Unmarked Sandwiches
I went to the Panera Bread in Southlake, TX and placed an order at 12:42pm for pick up at 6:15pm. I ordered 2 Premium Family Feasts and an extra soup. I wanted to make sure that my order was prepared on time, so I placed it early. However, when I arrived at 6:19pm, my order was not ready. The girl at the counter told me that they were finishing it up. I had to wait for a while until the manager came out and asked me my name. I told her my name and that I had placed an order for over $100. They started making my order, but I had to wait even longer.
When I finally received my order, I noticed that the 2 Family Feasts were mixed together. I had to take everything out and separate it into the 2 orders that I had placed. To make matters worse, I realized that ALL the sandwiches weren't marked what they were. I told a lady and she apologized and told me that she had been working for 12 hours. I didn't understand why my order wasn't ready after I had given them 5 hours to prepare it and why the sandwiches weren't marked. The lady had to open them up and see what they were, then folded them back up and put another sticker on them. They looked terrible, and I was embarrassed to give them to people.
Finally, I was able to leave at 6:40pm. I understand that Panera Bread is short-staffed and has people working 12-hour shifts, but they should still take care of their customers. I spent over $100 and was not offered anything for my extra time waiting and that I had to repackage everything myself. I hope that Panera Bread can improve their service and take care of their customers better in the future.
Disappointing Experience at Panera Bread Ft. Myers: Broken Fans, Confusing Service, and Unappetizing Salad
Me and my family have been going to Panera Bread for years, and we always loved their Green Goddess Cobb Salad. We were excited to finally go back after a year and a half because of Covid. We went to the one on Daniels road in Ft. Myers, Florida, and we always sit on the outdoor patio. But when we got there, we noticed that none of the fans were working. I went inside to ask if they could turn them on, but the manager told me that they haven't been working for over a year! When I asked why they haven't been fixed, she just said "I Don't Know" without any apology or effort to help.
We ordered our usual Cobb salad, and they gave us a pager. We put it on the table like we always do, and the servers would bring our food out. But this time, the pager started flashing, so I took it inside to ask why. They told me that we needed to go and get our order because of Covid. I thought it would've been safer for the server to bring it outside, so all the customers aren't running inside. When I got my salad, I noticed that they now put tomatoes on it. I asked for extra dressing and put it on and mixed my salad. But the tomatoes didn't compliment the salad at all, so I picked them out. The dressing tasted very different, diluted with something. And the bread was old, not fresh at all.
We were VERY disappointed with our experience, and we won't be returning. Panera Bread has lost our family of customers!
Iced Coffee with added Madagascar vanilla and caramel syrup added
Every time I go to the Panera on Thomasville rd. in Tallahassee, Fl. It takes extremely long for rapid pick up and I'm never given my drink. Today I order a large iced coffee with Madagascar vanilla and caramel syrup. Did not received that. I was looking around so a guy asked me what I was looking for and I told him a large iced coffee and he handed me a cup I didn't have time to keep waiting so I just fixed a coffee and left so I didnt get what I paid for. This store is extremely slow when it comes to rapid pick up. I always have to wait and I literally only get an item from the bakery and a beverage. - S'Chana Holley email: holley.[protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: Refund and better service but I just won't go to this particular location anymore
Salad
My last visit to my local Panera was so disappointing! For years now I've visited Panera for lunch, dinner, etc. On May 22, 2023 my friend and I decided to have a light dinner. I ordered the usual Fuji Apple Chicken Salad, with extra pecans, cheese, dressing, everything extra but the chicken. When I went to pick up my order it didn't have the extra...

This is May 16, 2023 and I ordered the Bakers Dozen Tuesday special yesterday to be picked up at 6:30am. I want to note that I usually do not pick up at the designated time as I ran into an issue previously with the order not being ready. That said I did go 20 minutes after the pickup time and apparently they had problems this morning as a police vehicle...

I am 70 years old and this is my first complaint. I have always loved Panera and although the prices are almost ridiculous, I go there because I like the atmosphere, food, and the coffee. I have had some bad experiences lately as far as the quality for the cost and laid back for awhile from going. Today I thought I’d give it another try. The menu had...

I am a part-time team member at Panera Bread in Weston Florida.
Today may be my last day working at the store. For the last couple of months I've had a co-worker make uncomfortable advances towards me which I have reported to the manager. “AD” takes it as a joke and even tells me to date the guy. This has been going on for a while now and today I mentioned it again and he was upset with me for doing so. By coincidence a corporate trainer was in the store named Jeannette and before she left I took her aside and explained the situation. She asked me to write a report and she also called AD to discuss the issue. AD said something like 'Do you have any proof'. This really upset me because he has been aware so he tried to make me sound foolish. Aside from the issue with my co-worker, AD is unprofessional, he is belligerent and disrespectful by discussing his sex life which is totally inappropriate. My nephew visited the store Saturday while I was on my break. And he made a comment to me 'I can hit that', He asked me how old he was and I said 18 to which he responded 'At least he is not jailbait'. I filed my report and left early for the day. A co-worker just called me and told me that the corporate person reprimanded the managers and after she left they were all discussing how they would cover up for each other. One of them went as far as to say, "I'll cover for you, that little "B_tch" is a little liar.
As a college student working part-time I would not expect to work in environment where the management behaves like they are in a frat-house.
This will probably be my last day working at Panera bread and I don't want to get anyone in trouble but I don't want another young person to feel like I felt in the last couple of months.
Desired outcome: Reprimand of manager and enforcement of harassment policy
Drive through pricing did not match actual price.
I ordered a half of Asian crunch salad which was listed on the drive through board as 7 something. I was charged 9.29 as they never changes the board. This happened today at the Niles store April 19. The cashier was extremely nice and explained that this is a corporate issue. He gave me a free cookie, but the prices must be changed! Order # 1422724 Store #

Good Morning,
A couple of weeks ago I wanted to take my husband to Panera Bread in Kingston Ontario Canada for a healthy lunch as i have ate there many times. We went to order and were told they only had sundried tomato bread or something like that as i do not like that i said do you not have anything else? I am in the meantime looking at a full cart of fresh baked bread and buns sitting right in front of me. I was told no and when i asked why can i not have one of those they told me it was for the next day and they could not give me any. So as you can imagine you lost a customer. We walked out. I really feel if this is the policy then you should change it and if it is not then perhaps your ppl need to be trained as such.
Just thought it was important enough to let you know as i was one customer but how many more have had this happen.
Thanks Cindy Johnson
Desired outcome: please let me know if this is your policy? So i know whether or not to go back. Thanks So muchCindy Johnson
Restroom
I was in a Panera Bread location last week on Centre Avenue in Pittsburgh, PA 15232 and was surprised the bathrooms were locked and you needed a code to get in to use them. I guess it’s the world we’re living in now. But, it shouldn’t be so hard to be able to use the bathroom. One of the workers gave me a code but, it was wrong. The company should put out hand sanitizers for the public since it is no longer easy to get into the bathroom.
Desired outcome: I think Panera Bread should make it easier for the public to access the bathrooms. Also they should leave out hand sanitizers thru the restaurant for customers.
