Super customer service
Super customer service. Unable to go on our trip and they helped me quickly with a full refund. I will definitely try to plan the trip again!

PHG cancelled my Spring Break vacation with less than 2 weeks before our arrival
PHG cancelled my Spring Break vacation with less than 2 weeks before our arrival. I was given the excuse that the owners wanted to use it that week so I was booted out. We planned and reserved this vacation months ago. I did get my full money back but we are left with out a vacation. This last minute cancellation does have significant collateral damage. Between the time off requests, additional trip reservations, travel arrangements and family events this has become a logical nightmare. A lot of time and money has been spent and lost planning for this trip. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this loss except stay home and complain to sites like this.
We reserved a stay through Panhandle Getwaways at the "Catch of the Day" in Prominence on 30A in February for a 4-night stay in mid-June
We reserved a stay through Panhandle Getwaways at the "Catch of the Day" in Prominence on 30A in February for a 4-night stay in mid-June. About 3 hours after we checked in on our arrival date, the Property Manager for the unit called and told us we had to check out immediately, stating that our unit "was actually not available for our dates" and that the owner was coming that night to do some work on it. We had also received a strange phone call from a Panhandle Getaways employee shortly after we arrived stating that our unit had flooded (though it clearly had not) and we would have to be moved. We were informed that our our options were either to move to another unit in Panama City Beach (30 minutes away) with a partial refund or receive a full refund and find our own place to stay. We asked what would happen if we didn't vacate the original unit, and she stated that the police would be called to evict us. After much back and forth, the Property Manager agreed to refund us in full and move us to the unit in Panama City Beach at no cost to us. So we packed up all of our luggage, groceries, and 4 young kids (already ready for bed), and hit the road at 8:30 pm. Upon arrival at the Panama City Beach unit (a condo in a high rise building in a busy stretch of PCB), it was quickly obvious that we were given a lesser unit that was not even ready for guests. In fact, the next day a representative from the condo company stopped by and seemed surprised that we had already checked in, stating that the unit had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. This was fairly obvious to us given that the master bed had no sheets and the comforter was tossed on the floor. We reached back out to the Property Manager and Panhandle Getaways with our concerns and were told we had no other options. Left with no other choice, we frantically made a last minute search and after several hours, located a unit back in Seaside that was available for the remainder of our trip through AirBNB. We were refunded in full by Panhandle Getaways, but of course had to pay for the new rental unit, which was more expensive. Several weeks later, we are still going back and forth with Panhandle Getaways about a full resolution on the issue. We were extremely disappointed, and frankly appalled that a company based entirely on hospitality would treat people this way. Do NOT stay at this unit and do NOT use Panhandle Getaways!

We booked a trip months in advance for June 4-11
We booked a trip months in advance for June 4-11. Three weeks before the trip the company cancelled due to the owner selling. We had to scramble to book another place with a much higher price and the company was not willing to help offset the cost or honor our previously fully paid for booking. No compensation of any sort was offered.

Reserved suite at 1900 Ninety Eight via VRBO in Nov
Reserved suite at 1900 Ninety Eight via VRBO in Nov. 2020 for a stay in May . Cancellation policy at the time was for full refund if cancelled by March 27. Due to COVID, we cancelled reservation in January and sought full refund (well within the timeframe for a full refund). After repeated attempts to obtain refund from the property manager, including providing company with copies of both our confirmation and cancellation emails, each which clearly outlines the owner's/manager's cancellation policy, we still have not received our full refund. This is a very simple matter and no question as to the property manager's obligations.

Recently stayed at Emerald Towers in Destin, FL via Panhandle Getaways
Recently stayed at Emerald Towers in Destin, FL via Panhandle Getaways. We stayed 6/26-7/1. The amount paid was $3,114.56. Upon arrival to the unit (which was unlocked) it was filthy. Dust, hair, bugs, and BLOOD. The nice gentleman at front desk confirmed there was blood, but he couldn't help that I would have to contact Panhandle Getaways directly (which I had already tried). I emailed them upon arrival. Someone responded stating someone from"Destin" would respond to me. I have yet to hear anything! I have called with voicemails, emailed, etc. We weren't allowed to check-in early because of "extra cleaning precautions"... I would have to have seen it not even in a pandemic! It was truly stressful and maddening to deal with. Additionally, 1 of the shower heads wouldn't work nor would 2 of the TVs. The wiring job looked like a fire hazard waiting to happen as did the electric panel in the room!

We rented a condo from This company
We rented a condo from This company. (2) weeks before we were supposed to be there, they manager call and cancelled! They have lied. Im1st they said it was still under construction and wouldn't be ready. 2nd they said the previous renters damaged the place and couldn't be fixed. They aren't being truthful or on the up and up.we asked for them to get us another condo. They couldn't . We asked for our money back ASAP. They said it'd be 7-10 days. This is ALL their fault. We didn't cancel. Tried numerous times to contact Joe the manager. They says he's either gone or will be back tomorrow. Called the next day. They say he'll be back the following day or something. They are trying to avoid a conversation. They were very much there when we were initially trying to book. This seems like Pandhandle Getaways is giving us the runaround and shady dealings. The amount of our supposedly booking was $3752.80. We NEED our Money back. This business needs punished!

Due to a change of travel dates, we had to cancel our trip
Due to a change of travel dates, we had to cancel our trip. Panhandle Getaways are refusing to refund the first $438.00 payment made. We made a reservation with Panhandle Getaways for the property at Splash Resort in Panama City Beach, FL for the dates of Sunday, May 16, through Saturday, May 22. The reservation was made on February 26th, and a payment of $438.00 was made. The listing for this property said if a cancellation for the trip was made prior to 60 days from the first day of travel, we would receive a full refund in the amount we have paid. I cancelled the trip and contacted Panhandle Getaways directly and they are refusing to refund our $438.00, because we "signed a rental agreement and didn't purchase travel insurance". I never saw a rental agreement and never signed one, and was also never given the option to purchase travel insurance. Misty from Panhandle Getaways said we will not receive the deposit of $325.00 that I also knew nothing about.

I arrived to the condo on 4/18
I arrived to the condo on 4/18. I paid $1,515.99, including travel insurance, just in case something would happen. I walked in to the dirtiest condo I had ever stayed in. I was called a "[censored]" by the housekeeper, who came 4/18 around 6pm to "reclean" my condo. There was food left from previous guests on the carpets/appliances in the kitchen, and stains on the mattress pad that I was told was not cleaned in-between guests. I asked to speak with a reservations manager or property manager, twice a day for almost four days. No one in either position called me. The only person who would speak to me was Mary, the housekeeping manager. She sent someone out a second time to clean; yet again, nothing was touched. I spent my first 4 days trying to move condos. It wasn't until Tuesday/Wednesday that I moved condos. I've never been so stressed and anxious in my life. This company showed me they didn't care about my safety or cleanliness, even during a Pandemic. It was very unprofessional.

Palms of Destin Room 2317 highly priced arrived to damaged furniture and unkept rental. Roach in room. $2216.00 total requested compensation. Stayed from 11/15/30. Arrived to damaged furniture, worn down sofa set, dining room set scratched and damaged. Roach in room with queen bed. Total for start $2216. Sent several emails, photos, text messages regarding conditions of location. A woman *** called me and we expressed that the photos on their website of the rental was deceiving. We were told that bar stools were ordered for the room the Friday prior to our arrival and that a furniture switch would be made during our stay. We were never informed of this when we booked this location. Also mold in the bathroom. We were also told the room never had pets in it, the entire floor we stayed on had pets. We told them my kids were severely allergic and were assured the room didn't have pets. We requested compensation and we were told a supervisor *** would call us back. We have gotten no call regarding resolution.

Unit not clean, mantinence needed, multiple contacts ignored, staff knocked at 9:40 pm on date of arrival to drop of bedding at the door
Unit not clean, mantinence needed, multiple contacts ignored, staff knocked at 9:40 pm on date of arrival to drop of bedding at the door. We stayed at Celadon XXXXX/26/20-7/31. Upon arrival we found crumbs and finger prints on tables and windows, floors were not swept well or mopped, there was what we hopped was food splattered all over the hallway walls and doors, there was food burnt on the stove and in the oven, all of the table settings were piled in a window and the laundry room light was not working. We immediately emailed Panhandle Getaways. Due to COVID we cleaned and sanitized the unit ourselves because we had no where else to stay. At 9:40 that evening someone knocked on the door to drop off some of the missing bedding so we made the bed ourselves. During our stay we never heard from Panhandle Getaways so we alerted the owner who said that she to on going issues with Panhandle Getaways they were terminating their contract with them. The owner contacted Panhandle Getaways on our behalf and said we should be getting a call from the owner, Ann. We never heard from her. I have emailed since our vacation in hopes of at least and apology or acknowledgement but Panhandle Getaways continues to neglect customer service.

Our handle fell off at our condo and they would not fix it
Our handle fell off at our condo and they would not fix it. We could not lock our door for safety. While staying with Panhandle Getaways we first noticed how nasty our room was. Stains all over the furniture and dirt and filth on the tables and chairs. Given that the coronavirus is still raging the place should have been spotless. The master bathroom toilet whistled very loudly. I talked with them then night I arrived and they assured they would make it right. I told them I would clean the condo because I needed to know it was clean. They sent over someone to clean the furniture the next day and they did a very poor job. I had to go behind him with a wet towel and finish cleaning off the furniture. Then the handle to the balcony fell off. I immediately contacted them to have them come and fix it. I messaged them throughout the day and they kept assuring me someone was coming to fix it. No one ever showed up. It would not have been hard for someone to slide over the rail can come right into our room because we couldn't lock the balcony door from this point on. They never fixed anything that I told them. The toilet or the door. Both were still broken when we left. I have pics and video and text between me and the company to prove all of this

Strange odors coming from kitchen and dryer
Strange odors coming from kitchen and dryer. We stayed at The Summit room 402 in Panama City Beach the last full week of June. When we arrived, we were told only 2 elevators were working and that a repair man would be there this week working on them, never saw a repair man and looking back on reviews, they have been out since the first of the year. This is not on Panhandle Getaways and will be filled another way. When we got into our room, it was decorated nice, outdated but we had to book last minute so it was to be expected. There were several pictures that were off of the walls and some were even shoved into a cabinet. When we started unloading our groceries, there was a horrible smell and it was the garbage disposal. Everything had leaked into the cabinets below and smelled terrible. I let them know Monday morning (we arrived Sunday) about this issue and they said they would send maintenance. No one ever came now was any follow up information sent on a day or time they would be available. We started washing clothes and towels and everything came out of the dryer smelling sour. I tried to clean the filter to the dryer but it was broken and what I can only assume was YEARS of lint and other things came out of that dryer filter however there was still an odor. I understand a large number of people come in and out but dirty is dirty.

I am asking for a refund or exchange for a different date for a rental in Destin, Florida
I am asking for a refund or exchange for a different date for a rental in Destin, Florida. We didn't go because of the COVID outbreak. We purchased a rental in June for a 7/18-7/22 rental in Destin, Florida. It came to over $2000. I called them over a week out and said we would like to exchange dates or get a refund. They said no. They said to wait it out and see if things change because Florida wasn't shutdown. A day or two before the rental, I called again and they said I could cancel the reservation and hope someone else rents it so I can get a refund. Since then, I have called 4-5 times and never seem to get the right person. The first person told me the place rented out for a few days and I should be getting a refund, but Ashley would have to let me know. I called again and got Ashley, and she said it didn't rent out, so she would check and have her boss call me. That was 5-6 days ago. I called back again and Ashley nor her boss is in and therefore, no one else can help. I have called VRBO because they put out a declaration that these groups should work with customers through the COVID situation and refund or rebook. I called VRBO and they talked to Panhandle and Panhandle told them I didn't buy travel insurance so I was out of luck. I am out my total amount because I didn't cancel outside of 30 days. I don't believe I bought the package outside of 30 days. It is hard to believe no refund at all, no option to rebook, etc...

Promised refund in writing if had to cancel due to COVID related interruption
Promised refund in writing if had to cancel due to COVID related interruption. Company will not answer phone, email or text regarding refund status. We booked a condo in December this year for a stay from June 25-July 6. We go to a dance competition at the convention center across the street every year, and have for the last 5 years. We did not purchase trip insurance, because weather is not a factor in our decision to go. It's not about the beach. In April, when COVID looked to continue threats to vacation rentals, I sent a text to Panhandle Getaways, through the *** app and asked about their refund status with regard to cancellations due to closure of convention halls and beaches and was assured they were offering full refunds for end of June should I need to cancel. This was a huge relief. When the awful day came, that the dance competition was officially cancelled, I immediately reached out, through the app again, and heard nothing back. I emailed the company directly, called and left messages. Finally used their direct text and received a response that said I would forfeit a $325 fee for cancelling. I oppose this, but the real issue is that the reservation STILL shows on ***, and $483 of my refund is supposed to come from that company. I emailed management 3 times with ZERO response. I don't know when, or if, or from where my refund is coming. The company will not answer these questions, and I have gotten conflicting information regarding the fee they promised, IN WRITING, that I would not be charged. I cancelled on 5/21, over 30 days out form my check in, and can not get answers. Please, help.

Panhandle Getaways falsely advertised cancellation policy on VRBO
Panhandle Getaways falsely advertised cancellation policy on VRBO. Ran a bait and switch scheme, refusing to return deposit, contrary to listing info. My family booked a property through VRBO that was managed by Panhandle Getaways. The listing on VRBO stated a 100% refund policy if the reservation was cancelled within 60 days of the stay. We cancelled 2 weeks after our original booking and PH stated there was a non-refundable $325 initial deposit if cancelled and refused to return our full deposit. Nowhere on the VRBO listing was this advertised (not even in fine print) - the $325 amount does not show up anywhere in the detailed charges - we verified this with VRBO. After VRBO contacted PH to try to get our deposit refunded, PH stated that they sent us a rental agreement with the information about the $325.00 deposit. After searching my emails, I found this rental agreement that I had never seen nor signed. It did include information about the non-refundable deposit, but this information was completely contrary to the cancellation policy they included on their VRBO listing and was sent to us after we had booked the reservation and our deposit was sent. This company is guilty of a bait and switch scheme. They falsely advertised a 100% refund policy and then after we booked, sent a separate email that we never received with different information. We passed over numerous other listings that included statements about non-refundable deposits. We looked over every detail of the Panhandle Getaways listing on VRBO to be sure there deposit was 100% refundable. After contacting Panhandle Getaways, they are refusing to return $325.00 of our deposit, saying that the information was included in our "signed" rental agreement. We never signed any rental agreement, nor did we see this information. They should not be allowed to falsely advertise on VRBO where we booked the reservation, and then state a different policy in a rental agreement that the consumer isn't even required to sign before their deposit is made - this is FRAUD.

I am owed credit for stay in May
I am owed credit for stay in May.Was first charged higher amt than receipt and then transferred to lower cost unit with promise of credit for both. I booked a unit in Prominence on 30A for May 22. When I checked my credit card statement it had been charged $3,510.54 but the receipt they emailed to me showed a total of $2,867.88 (see attached). A few days prior to our reservation a service rep named Mary, called and said the unit I booked was unavailable and they would have to move me to a unit that had no golf cart and was $50 less a day. She stated I would receive a credit of $300 (6 night stay). I brought up with her the question about the difference in what my card was charged and the receipt and was told she would look in to it. I have since called and texted many times and been told to call various people and left messages with no response. I called the regular number and spoke to a rep who gave my information to a manager. The manager called me Monday night (June 8th) and stated that he will pass my information to Melissa and she would definitely call me Tuesday. She never called so Wednesday I left several messages. I called again Wednesday night and spoke to Misty who said she would leave a large note on Melissa's computer to call me. It is Thursday afternoon and I still have received no call. I called again today and her voice mail is full and when I try to call the Company there is a message saying they are unable to take the call and to leave a message. Again I left a detailed message but several hours later I still have heard nothing. I am due a refund of $942.66 and have now been charged interest on my cc statement because of how long this has taken. I would have liked to get this resolved directly with them but it has been two weeks and they are not responding to me and giving me the run around by transferring me to different people. I have been polite and understanding with those I have talked to but I am completely fed up and disgusted by how they are treating me. This is unacceptable behavior for a client based business.

I believe my issues and concerns are very identifiable and pictures have been sent for the quality and cleanliness of the condo 702 Moondrifter! To: reservations *** Subject: Re: Joyce - We're so glad you're here! I would like to speak to the owners of the condos. I am requesting that I receive an amount of money back due to the following reasons when renting condo 702: Not at all what your advertising shows! I even confirmed the condos with other neighbors that are staying at Moondrifters as well that the condos are filthy upon arrival! Front bedroom no blinds at all and is directly facing outside of room! Maintenance requested still have not came we leave tomorrow! Master bath the light has a short in it and it cuts out When house keeping came after being requested once we arrived they don't speak English therefore they didn't even know what I was saying! Never touched the bedrooms as they came in and swept living room, kitchen, dining and hallways and out the door they went! The drawers in the kitchen never been cleaned at all and house keeping don't understand to do! The tile is so ground in dirt on floors they need scrubbed with more than water! Requested at least three times for maintenance to bring a remote to the living room tv still to date nothing! Kitchen has no large skillets to cook in? Two pans that are so burnt in them they need thrown away! Inventory needs done on kitchen items! Refrigerator sounds like it is dying runs a crazy sound! Patio cushions need thrown away! Couch has stains all over them! Bunk beds are ridiculously nasty the shear curtains have not been washed in years! Walls where bunk beds are nasty! The beds themselves have been painted so many times that the paint chunks off! My child won't go near them! I understand that people come and go in these condos however there is no reason why a bottle of pinesol and a scrub brush cannot be used to even make the place smell clean! I can say this with experience as I have cleaned for Rent My Island in the Florida Keys and my houses were exceptionally clean and stocked with all necessities! Super customer service. Unable to go on our trip and they helped me quickly with a full refund. I will definitely try to plan the trip again!
Very quick helpful maintenance staff when the refrigerator in our unit had a leak. The unit was super clean. We loved it and will definitely be back!
