I went in for an exam with an ENT there yesterday. It was the weirdest doctor interaction I’ve ever had. The doctor was nice but wasn’t driving the conversation at all. He started off by telling me he is not very good at figuring out issues without imaging, and was pushing for me to get a CT scan before even looking in my ears, nose or throat. I know his job is easier when I pay for a scan, but I’m paying for him to be a good doctor. This was a total waste of my time. He barely looked in nose and called it good, stating my left nostril deviated slightly. Told me to follow up with him after my audiology appointment and get a CT scan. I spoke with a friend who went to her ent and had a completely different experience. I am now going to go see that doctor at a different clinic because I want someone who can put together something without jumping to a scan that I will need to pay for. Seriously, the most weird appointment of my life. I’m a doctor as well, and it is so strange that a doctor wouldn’t conduct a better exam and wouldn’t lead the conversation. Instead, he opened the door slow, peeked in and barely said anything before coming in. I felt like he was crashing a party he wasn’t invited to, even though he was supposed to be there. He started off telling me right away the benefits of a CT scan before even looking in my orifice. Talk about trying to sell someone on a scan to make your job easier before even doing any work. I am requesting not to pay for this appointment.
Desired outcome: I don’t want to pay for this exam. It was hardly an exam at all. I have canceled all audiology and ENT appointments moving forward as this was not helpful and I am going elsewhere.
