Hello,
I just wanted to try to be heard. I realize that nobody cares what one lolser like me has to say, but I will feel better after saying it.
I know from reading social media posts and speaking to friends, that I am far from the only person who has this same complaint. I had to sign up for Peacock just to watch a couple of NFL games including the Steelers / Bills playoff game, and so I guess NBC's attempt to make more money off consumers was probably a success from NBC's perspective.
With that said, I am saying goodbye to watching NFL games because of it. Like so many things these days, yet another one has been ruined by corporate greed.
It's just another indication of the sad state of affairs in 2024 I guess and not much anyone can do about it if they don't like it. It seems everything we once enjoyed and felt we could rely on, is going away.
I really do hope NFL viewership goes down, so that at least some of the greedy partners in these decisions realize that people will only take so much before they give in or give up.
So, thank You NBC for ruining one of the last remaining good things we used to have to look forward to every year. I hope the extra money the board and or executives made is well spent and that they enjoy the spoils of their greed.
Oh I cancelled my Peacock subscription (not that you care), but I will never spend another penny with the company, regardless of how bad I want to watch something only being streamed on Peacock, I won't. The fact that we have to pay for a connection, pay to watch Peacock AND suffer through the constant bombardment of commercial after commercial is not something I'm going to pay for.
Oh one more thing... NBC does realize that it's decisions like this that lead people to find "alternative" methods of watching things like NFL games? They are almost forcing people to sign up for VPN's and use websites based out of the country that stream the games.
Thanks for hearing me out.
Claimed loss: Monthly cost of Peacock service
