Timeshare was sold to me by saying it was a (Red week) turns out to be white.
We owned Unite (08) 305- 8 on May 1, 1991. We bought it for $5, 600.00 and have paid in full on our maintenance yearly starting at $205. and has now gotten to $611.00. It started out called Festiva, changed to Peppertree by the Sea, and now owned by SPM located in Horry County, South Carolina at Myrtle Beach, 305 South Ocean Blvd, N. Myrtle Beach, SC. At our ages we cannot continue to this amount due to our raising our great granddaughter which is very costly. We cannot continue to take our vacations in the spring and fall due to school. We have asked them to release us from Peppertree By the Sea and just take it back, no money involved. We received an absolute NO. In their words, " Although the maintenance fees have increased over the years, the Board of Directors along with the Management Company, SPM Resorts, have worked diligently to control cost and maximize revenues in order to keep the maintenance fee stable. Regular maintenance fees are set with requirements of the governing documents and can go up or down. Special assessments are imposed whenever necessary. Please note that SPM Resorts has never been responsible for any timeshare week sales." Then goes on to say, " MVP Services is the onsite sales company. Alex Nagy is the sale representative. Please call the resort at [protected] to contact him." Another lie, here they are with a representative sales for them. OR maybe they have been scammed by the first company before them. Further they are saying, " We caution anyone who is selling a timeshare week to be aware of scam companies and warn them to not pay any upfront fees to sell their timeshare week." We have called Palmetto Marketing to sell our week several times and have never had one call for out timeshare week. We have used several attempts to sell it on our own, and also by other companies we used. NOT ONE CALL has been made for a sale of this week.

We too have had the same problem with this resort and when you go there you see a list of multiple people who are trying to get out of ownership. We are contemplating moving the title to a near death relative so when they pass it will die right along side of them!
Unfortunately that won't work. When my family member of my family passed the timeshare became part of their estate. We ended up getting scammed for $3500 by one company and then $1500 by another. After paying $5k and still being stuck with the ownership we finally paid a law firm $16k to get out of the ownership in 2018. We are now finally free. Please be careful with exit companies, even death does not get rid of these deed based timeshares. The company we used was Wesley Financial, they were quick and finally relieved the burden we were afraid to pass on to our children.
