Summer Winds Resorts timeshare purchase

Contract number 105553

3-bedroom in 2014 (Robert Cavar)
We were told that this resort (Stormy Point Village) was one of only a handful of elite resorts that had the status that Stormy Point Village had and that it was a really good investment due to the status. We were also told that by calling them we and/or our friends and family could go anyplace in the world we wanted for a rate of $399 a week. He (Robert Cavar) even showed us some photographs of himself and some famous celebrity aboard a boat owned by the celebrity at some beautiful tropical location and stated that the $399 program was how he did this. He also showed us brochures of New York City and told us we could even get there using this program by just calling them to book this. Told us the facilties could do this so that they could rent out rooms which would otherwise be vacant and they would rather rent them out and get the lower income rather than just letting them sit vacant. We were also basically promised that other timeshares we owned would sell within a 6-month period if listed with a company he (Robert Cavar) referred. "It may take up to 6 months; but within 6 months they should for sure sell" is what he said. Also told us if we were not going to use our week in any given year that we would be able to contact the resort and let them know and we would not have to pay any maintenance fees that year (Why pay if you won't use it he stated). Tried this and was told that there were only so many cases of this option available and the the available number had already been met). Also found out that the maintenance for that year would have to be paid in advance and the request for a refund needed to be done by mid January of the usage year. How would someone know that far in advance whether or not the unit would be used during the usage year? We never know if we won't be able to vacation until a later time if or when a situation may arise to prevent us being able to vacation. This was a very deceptive and misleading presentation since none of this was mentioned during the presentation. We were also told the presentation would last no more than 90 minutes and it actually lasted several hours.
======================================================================
4-bedroom in 2017 (Steve McQuire)
During this presentation we were told that by using a 3-bedroom unit rather than the 4, we would Not Have To Pay Maintenance Fees Ever If We Did This. This was the reason we upgraded. A 3-bedroom would suffice, so if we owned the 4-bedroom and used a 3-bedroom we would Never have to pay maintenance fees we were told. We would be assured a vacation yearly for life without maintenance fees if less than a 4-bedroom unit was booked when we upgraded to said 4-bedroom unit. This sounded great to us. We then got hit with a Special Assessment Fee the next year which we were not made aware of as a possibility. We thought this was what the maintenance fees were for. So we were billed a Special Assessment Fee of $700 shortly after we upgraded to the 4-bedroom unit, expecting to have to pay No Fees if we used a smaller unit. They also agreed to take another property (Grandview Las Vegas) as a trade-in if we upgraded. He (Steve McQuire) also told us that the property value at Stormy Point would improve due to them soon beginning some enhancements to the dock area around the lake. We later found out that this was All Lies. The compliance officer (Floyd Elliot) asked us how we could possibly believe we would not have to pay maintenance fees since we always had to in the past. (Answer: Because Your Salesman - The Person Representing Your Company - Specifically Told Us This In The Presentation). He (Floyd Elliott) then said that he could not be responsible for everything the salesmen tell us. (Answer: It's called Honesty and Integrity - and Yes - your salesmen Should be held accountable for the things they Promise during the presentations. If not, this is Total "Fraudulant and Deceptive Practices" - and the contracts Should Not Be Binding. He (Floyd Elliott) then proceeded to state that we would be able to request a refund of maintenance fees if the unit was not going to be used during the usage year - the same as was available for the 3-bedroom unit. Big Difference between requesting a refund of maintenance on a week not being used and Using the Week Without Having a Maintenance Fee Due.
We were also again told the presentation would last no more than 90 minutes and it actually lasted several hours.

LIES AND DECEPTION DURING BOTH PRESENTATIONS. WE WANT THIS CONTRACT CANCELLED AND OUR MONEY REFUNDED.

And when you call to request a refund that you will not be going because that is not what you signed up for or was told that you would be getting your told is your problem ! Return phone calls from supervisors they say they've given messages to . So if they want to keep my money I will show up at one of those darn hotel then I'll make sure everybody knows about the big scam that's being ran and the terrible customer service- as I sit in on their wonderful attempted timeshare sell I will also stand up and give my own story of my experience at the same time- and gladly reclaim atleast $100 of my money back!

Summer Winds Resorts roach motel type travel club, easy to join, impossible to quit.

On the first of May 2017, after touring their sleazy timeshares, my wife and I were solicited to join their Travel Club. We joined and then called the next day to rescind our membership and contract as there was no way it would work for us for health and financial reasons. The salesman I talked to said we had 3 days to cancel and should wait for membership materials to arrive before we cancelled. Realizing it would be more than 3 days before I would have received the material (actually it was more than 3 weeks), we sent a certified letter rescinding our membership May 2, 2017. When no charges were made on my card over the preceding months, we thought our business with Summer Winds was finished. Then 5 months later Warren Hall from Summer Winds calls and informs us that they're back in business and we are members of a bogus travel club that we've never used, never will use, and never intended to use. We through out their "materials" months ago. If your going to Branson, do yourself a favor and stay away.

Summer Winds Resorts one particular timeshare agent

Ok, so I've never purchased a timeshare from here or any other company & therefore have nothing to say about that, but I am going to make a complaint about one of their sales reps whom I encountered way back in 2017. While @ an exhibition, we had sex & I performed oral acts upon him DURING company time. I was also 17, so this is illegal in my state

Update by A Disgruntled Dame
Jul 13, 2017 1:14 am EDT

As for now, I have decided *not* to name this particular quote-un-quote "agent" out of sheer generosity, as I somewhat pitty him, noting that I don't want to endanger him, his reputation, or his job. Why? I don't know. I'm just going to refer to him as "H" or "Gross Candy Bar That Nobody Likes." He'll understand my reference. Thanks to him, my depression over the past few years has been off the charts, yet paling in comparison to my levels of social & general anxiety, & having to takie my fluoxetine every single day just reminds me of him. Let's just say I'm glad my folks have good medical insurance, as I've been brooding over this incident for awhile. The sex was consensual, but he manipulated my ever-fluctuating teen emotions, & dareisay, found a way to abuse them, even from over 500+ miles away, much like he did in person. In conclusion, I don't want anything; just a "sorry" with an explanation would be nice. I also want to protect other vulnerable teen girls & woman from his charm, because let's face it, he's tough to say no to. "H" likely partakes in Summerwind's traveling expos when they do shows in other states, & I am not a one time "customer" of his. I've recently texted one of his old cell phone numbers, &, oddly enough, it was not H who answered, but someone else w/the same number that he was using. It's funny, how often he changed his number... the person on the other line complained to me about how he was pestered by countless women & mothers, all asking about H, saying that they were either pregnant or telling him to "stay away from their daughters." Now I know this could all be a bunch of BS, but I can't help wonder about the merit behind those claims. He likely has a long string of other young ladies like me, & I was just another link in his chain. Without a doubt, the best way I can describe both him & his actions would have to be that they are nothing short of predatory. I don't know how safe this timeshare company is with a slimy sleazeball like that slinking around. So please, ladies, (& perhaps gents too!) watch out! There's a loaded gun lurking in the sea of the Summerwinds Resorts' salesfolk!

Summer Winds Resorts timeshare purchase

I purchased this vacation package based on false promises and lies about our present timeshare ownership, Bluegreen. I was told if you weren't going to use your week you paid $99 only but we found out you had to pay the whole $590 and if and when they rented your week you got some of the money back.

Then on BlueGreen we were told they were self-insured, which they are not, and that a hurricane could wipe them out, and that assessments would be very, very, high, not true, the maintenance program has a built in factor to account for hurricanes, etc.,

I want to void this contract as I have since found out it was based on lies, lies, lies, and this can not be allowed to continue.

Summer Winds Resorts workplace assault

My husband was assaulted! Please share! This has got to stop!#stormypoint #summerwindsresort #workplaceviolence #letsstopthisfromhappening #now
After my husbands retirement from a corporate job he held for over 24 years, he decided to get a part time job for something to do. He went to work for stormy point village summerwinds resort services llcselling time share. He worked there for approximately a month or two. On june 7th 2016 this story begins. As my husband was with elderly clients with a disabled child, he was trying to get management to assist the clients. The people were told they would be there for 90 minutes. Four hours later the clients had to leave, as the disabled child had to eat and had missed her meal. Management there was basically inattentive to the clients needs. So my husband helped them out, telling management they would not be buying. There was no scene made, my husband was firm but only concerned about this disabled child. After the people left toby pennington cussed my husband out, fired him and was not going to let him clock out! My husband was firm in saying he was going to clock out, toby grabbed my husband by the jacket and proceeded to tell him he was not clocking out, my husband brushed his hands away and told toby not to put his hands on him! A man named luke grabbed my husband from behind, put him in a chokehold and proceeded to choke him out, near unconscious, a man named charlie stepped forth and peeled luke's hold off my husband, yelling at luke, you're going to kill him. 911 was called, the ambulance came, and these lying time share, job hopping people lied about it all! Luke claimed self defense? My husband touched no one and he was in the hospital?!Even the city of branson police department let this man walk! While my husband was in the hospital and the others went about their day?!?! My husband had been employed at the same reputable company ecolab for over 24 years without any problems, he was the number one sales manager in north america and this time share company assumes this treatment of employees is okay? Check out their star ratings. You'll get an idea of the kind of people that work there, their ethics and moral code! See you in court! #summerwinds #stormypoint

Summer Winds Resorts piss poor customer service & chuckles!

I used our family's timeshare to book a condo on the beach. When I say on the beach I mean I wanted to walk down stairs and be on the beach. In fact that is what I told the man who booked my condo. He asked if I wanted an my balcony to have an ocean view. I stated that I didn't care if it was ocean view, I simply wanted to walk down that airs and be on the beach, I have a 2 yo with me.

I arrived to the very last building, one of the last rooms in the building.

So I called SummerWinds, Sunday night emergency, and the lady was real nice said that she'd try to move me in the morning. Well, that didn't happen.

So I called and spoke to another man, Floyd Elliot, who a tried to belittle me for calling a week before, which I politely explained that if the man could accommodate what I wanted he could have told me that . I could have found something on my own.

Then he asked how far I had to walk, I explained that wasn't the point, the point was it wasn't what I asked for, and he laughed!

Laughed! To which I responded "I'm glad this is humorous to you, because having a 2 yo with you dragging all the stuff is what I was trying to avoid."

I then stated that since I was paying for something that I didn't want, I should let the BBB know, his reply was priceless! "Tell your parents to do it since you don't own the timeshare!"

What! Who in customer service says this?

Summer Winds Resorts timeshare

My wife and I have tried calling several times in regards to canceling our Timeshare with Summer Winds! We are extremely unhappy with the service that we have received and were lied to during our presentation! We were told that we would be able to use the "get away" anytime for $199.00 and $299.00 for any trip within 60 days. This is not the case at all! I would like you to release us from our current contract at once! We are disgusted with your lack there of service and poor quality customer experience. I have sent two letters with no reply. I am willing to go to the MO Senate office and seek alternative actions if I need to but I am trying to be as civil as I can at this point! We do not want to use or work with Summer Winds ever again! We were lied to by our sales Representative multiple times as to how your system works and how we would be able to vacation anywhere we want for $199 or $299 within 60 days. You know and I know that this is not the case. Please let me know when you would like to discuss this further but until then please cancel our agreement as everything that we were promised was a lie!

Summer Winds Resorts uncomfortable with continuing contract with company

Accepted an invitation to Stormy Point in Branson by Summer Winds Resorts. Did the presentation which took over 2.5 hours which was no big deal. Our salesman was pleasant, mildly pressuring, but not pushy. We bought into a program. It really seemed like a good deal. Got to thinking about it and starting researching on the internet. Found lots of negative comments and issues with this company. Met with our salesman, Brian, for breakfast at Shoney’s and told him of our concerns and we wanted out of the contract. He tried to explain away the negative comments but couldn’t really defend against the comments. He told us to be at the Preview office after 1030 to cancel. We arrived at 1025 and were taken straight back. A tall man who never identified himself said, “where are your request for cancellation letters?” I said, “I know nothing about this and Brian just told us to be at the office at 1030. He said, “I have to have a letter?” I asked, “do you have a request for cancellation form?” He said, “No.” He said, “just write it on a sheet of paper.” I asked, “do you have a piece of paper we could use?” He said, “I do not have a piece of paper.” We took a piece of paper out of the scratch pad that was in the binder they gave us and wrote a request to cancel contract on it. He then said, “I need both of your drivers licenses and the credit card you put the deposit on.” He returned a few minutes later with a receipt crediting my credit card for the amount of the deposit. I signed it and he gave me a copy. He then said, “follow me.” He escorted us to the door and opened it. I felt like we were figuratively getting a kick in the butt out the door. I told him that he was the rudest business man I had ever dealt with. He said, “Have a nice day” and shut the door behind me. The day before everyone was friendly and personable. After we said no, it was like we were the enemy. Glad I read reviews and I would not buy from them just because of the attitude shown towards us. The obnoxious man’s name was Todd Smith. The only reason I know that is that his signature was on our copy of our request for cancellation letter. Buyer beware. Please read and research for yourselves. Good luck. You have 5 days to cancel a ‘timeshare’ contract according to the Missouri Attorney General. They are also supposed to give you a boldfaced document explaining you have the right to cancel. They did not provide us with document but didn’t find out till later that it was required. http://ago.mo.gov/divisions/consumer/consumer-topics/vacation-timeshares Check out: http://www.redweek.com/forums/search?query=summer+winds&forum_id=all&search_by=posts&submit=Go http://www.bbb.org/search/?type=name&input=summerwind&location=Branson%2C+MO&tobid=&filter=business&source=bbbse&default-source=bbbad&radius=&country=USA%2CCAN&language=en&codeType=YPPA http://www.complaintsboard.com/?search=summerwinds

Summer Winds Resorts fraud

On December 21, 2015 I received a call from the Summer Winds Resort that I allegedly purchased a package for a time share rental. She shared that on March 13, 2013 my credit card had been charged $199. I shared I had never heard or authorized any such transactions. She basically said I was lying. I requested to speak with someone else, I spoke with Christian, the supervisor of telemarketing. He was rude and accusatory about this transaction. I shared that I wanted to file for a refund and there must have been a mistake or fraud. After many insults from him I asked to speak with a corporate employee. I spoke to Jason Alonzo of 405 Country Trace, Branson, MO 65616 and phone number of 417.336.3080. He shared that I had indeed bought a timeshare, even though I am claiming I had nothing to do with this transaction nor did I authorize it. After many other negative things about me, I requested a conversation with someone from corporate. He gave me the name of Pat Joyce, the founder. He said he would never talk with me, but good luck. This is a scam of a business and I would like to be refunded any monies I paid, even in the event of fraud. Also, a written apology from the way I was treated.

Summer Winds Resorts misrepresentation on sales

Warning! Do not buy into summerwinds resorts! We have been owners of david walleys 1862 since 2001. As of 2011, summerwinds purchased the grounds and restaurant at david walleys. Summerwinds built 2 model cabins on the site. During a presentation on august 7, 2012, we were told by the sales rep and the sales manager on site that the models are to show us the new project across the road. They showed us plans to build several cabins with a walk through tunnel under the road. The cabins will provide all the amenities like the 4 main resort units. The mineral hot springs spa will be reconstructed and will have a & lsquo;natural rock’ design. So we upgraded by paying an additional $7, 484.00.
As of april 18, 2015, at the homeowners/summerwinds meeting; we were told by the summerwinds’ chief compliance officer that they have no intention to build any cabins across the road. The mineral hot springs spas will not be reconstructed because there are appraisal fees of $850k.In our original contracts we were given spa memberships which include us and our entire family. So the cco told all of us that our contracts will be reviewed. They will only allow spa memberships to those on the deed. So then our family cannot use the mineral hot springs/spa as according to our contract. This means they will pay a daily fee of $35!
Upon learning these things we have requested our upgrade monies be returned to us and our contract be restored to the original status. First we were told by the on-site sales manager they would do that; it would take a couple weeks. When we contacted that same person three weeks later he denied ever having said that and he said he doesn’t even have the authority to do that. Then told us the cco would call us in regard to this matter. This never happened. On our next call he told us a refund would not be issued. After that he would only refer us to the corporate office.
Summerwinds at david walleys 1862 are presently giving presentations and telling potential buys that the cabins across the road will be built, the spa will be reconstructed, and the spa memberships for the family will be part of the contract! In a public notice the douglas county planning department states that summerwinds permits from 2011 have expired and there is no applications for any future projects on the grounds of david walleys 1862.

Summer Winds Resorts fraudulent sales practices

This complaint is to address the fraudulent practices, high-pressure
sales tactics a lack of commitment for the representatives of Summer Winds/Stormy
Point and Vacation Services International.
Their deceptive ploys used in selling timeshares in order to increase
their sales and pocketbooks, falsely represent the company.

Rod Heil, made misleading, intimidating, and false
statements during what was to be a short, perhaps 30 minute meeting to review
our current ownership. However, this
meeting resulted in more than 3 hours of our time. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Heil
advised us that he was on his way out the door for the end of his workday but
would take a few minutes to review things with us. The appointment was made and he did not want
us to feel as though we wasted our time making the appointment. This
should have been our first clue that this was not going to go well for us.

During this meeting Mr. Heil repeatedly reminded us of
the advantage of ownership was the low
maintenance fees. Which he offered to
waive for 2 years if we would upgrade our existing contract. Mr. Heil agreed this was written into the
contract and that we should not bother to read all the print of the contract
since the evening was getting late and he knew we wanted to be on our way. Not to mention he had plans for the evening
and wanted to be able to get on with those also, reminding us it was his good
will that he stayed as long as he had.
(Come to find out this was written into the contract, however the
verbiage used forced us to lose the use of the facility for 2014 while still
paying for the use, and only waiving the fees for 2015. )

Rod Heil & Tony Hughes at Stormy Point Village provided deceiving
false information regarding how they would “resale” an existing timeshare for
us. They advised it would take all of 6
months for the sell to be completed and for those funds to be transferred to
any outstanding balance on our account.
This would be without complications to us due to our current standing of
VIP members. Rod Heil repeatedly
assured us this would not be an issue as timeshares were desirable and the need
far exceeded the availability to the public.
We were not to worry about making the decision & to allow him to
take over the details of the transaction with the assistance of Tony
Hughes. Mr. Hughes mentioned, “Mr. Heil
is correct in his statement. Rest assure that Mr. Heil would stand by his
agreement.”

Mr. Heil and Mr. Hughes advised us that Mr. Magee would be
responsible for selling the unit. They
contacted him at the time to discuss the matter. It was Mr. Magee who quoted the selling price
of $23K to 24K for the unit. The only
cost to us would be for the $199.00 listing fee. Which in this desirable market would be only
a small cost, considering the market place was in need of listing such as the
one we had to offer. Again all 3 men
assured us of the expertise Mr. Magee had in selling properties in the area and
how quickly the transaction would take place.
All we had to do was give him a matter of a short 6 months, no
more. However we would probably see a
return much sooner. During this
conversation we repeated stated we could not upgrade current contract
without selling of the other unit.

Mr. Heil stated unless we upgraded our timeshare we would
not have access to the new accommodations being created in Stormy Point. This
was due to the addition of the new swimming play area. Our current timeshare did not include any
additions made to the premises today or in the future. The only way to have use of this area would
be to have them prior to signing contract, which meant reinvesting into a
larger unit. Otherwise, we had no option
as we were already in a 3-bedroom unit.
We explained to him that a 4-bedroom unit was too large for our needs
and with health issues; we could not use an multi-level unit. Even with family visiting us during our stay,
we would not need a 4 bedroom. Mr. Heil
insisted if we wanted our grandchildren to be able to “enjoy” these exciting
and fun filled privileges this is what would be necessary. “Do you really want to deprive them of having
fun?” (Not a nice thing to say to grandparents who want to get the most out of
each visit with their grandchildren.) We asked him why our current ownership
would not allow them to use these facilities and he stated privileges come with
reinvestment or new investments only.
Stating this was a confirmed fact by his supervisors. He stated our grandchildren could watch
others enjoy the area once completed from a distance.

Several attempts to contact Mr. Heil were made via text
message and phone questioning the sale of our other timeshare as he
agreed. He acted as though we had done
something incorrectly by not understanding that he would not be the one making
the sale. However, stated he would contact Mr. Hughes and not worry this
timeshare would be sold within the 6 months.
We finally received a call several weeks later, stating that the title
search was not completed and they were unable to market it until this would be
completed. Again, Mr. Heil told us not
to worry he could guarantee the sale of the time-share would be completed in 6
months. (Please note we have saved
his many texts to us.)

We have since learned that Mr. Magee does not sell units or
advertise for the selling of these units.
He is simply an intermediary in the ploy to “finance” the pockets those
involved in this gimmick. Upon
contacting him to discuss the matter, he was rude and unwilling to offer any
form of explanation or assistance except to provide us with another phone
number to contact, [protected]. We
contacted [protected] regarding the listing to be ridiculed by the
representative. After looking up said
listing, he laughed & mockingly told us he could not believe how foolish we
were to think we could get this price.
The asking price was well over $7K more than current selling prices, not
to mention it would be illegal to sell the unit. We were referred to [protected] Campbell Law
Firm to discuss why. It has since been
confirmed the unit Mr. Heil, Mr. Hughes & Mr. Magee agreed to sell for us cannot
be to be marketed or sold. Due to foreclosure and bankruptcy, ownership interests
no longer exist. Further clarification
of how these men mislead & lied to us.

Contacts to Summer Winds repeatedly offer no assistance.
Only being told to leave a message & we will be contacted. Even requesting someone in “charge” brings no
response. I was told to mail in my
issues & paperwork, for review. The
result: the person handling the matter was no longer at the company and I would
need to begin again. I have, however no resolution or contact has been made.

We have had, with very little, difference the same experience that these owners describe. It is now more than a year later and our previous timeshare has not been sold and the salesman who is supposed to be selling it cannot be contacted. They are charging our credit card for the new timeshare which we did not authorize for them to do. When we try to stop the payment they threaten us with additional monthly charge of $45. We are pursuing some legal action to get out of this scam.

I bought a timeshare from Summer Winds Travel and Cruise and according to our deal I was able to visit it every 2 years for a month. Overall it was a very appealing order but thing is that we arrived there for a first time it was completely different from the photos we were shown. I was forced to stay there with my family but above mentioned company refused us even in partial refund...

Summer Winds Resorts deceptive sales practices

Buyers Beware at Summerwinds Resort in Branson, Mo
We attended a sales presentation at Summerwinds Resort in Branson, Mo and received a booklet with resort information that was not correct. Our salesman Danny Austin focused on this resort because we told him the area was our favorite place to vacation. We made our purchase based on this information. We went home and read over everything to make sure we understood it. We called Summerwinds two days later to go over everything and spoke with Danny Austin and Floyd Elliott. They assured us everything we understood about the resort and program was correct.
The first time we tried to make a reservation at the resort we knew there was a problem. It was the off season at the resort and there was no availability. Summerwinds told us we didn't understand the program and they gave us a lot of other options to stay outside the area. We contacted the resort to find out what was going on. The resort had 32 owners. The booklet we received stated the resort has 51 or more units participating and available for occupancy. The resort does not participate in the program and hasn't for the past six years, the time the current timeshare coordinator has been there. Danny Austin is one of the top salesmen at Summerwinds and has been there 13 years. He misled us and deceived us to get a sale.
Summerwinds has a rating of F on a scale of A+ to F with the abetter Business Bureau. The sales presentation will be a today only offer because they don't want you researching their company. We have been dealing with this for almost two years and hopefully we can save someone else from going through our nightmare. We know there are a lot of people out there like us and We wouuld like to get a class action suit going. Please contact us. Buyers Beware!

We have all the same issues! Summers Winds is a highly unethical timeshare. Our salesman Danny Austin lied to us about everything. We bought there because they assured us that they would sell or buy our timeshare at the Wilderness Club at Big Cedar. They also told us we would have 4 weeks to use at Stormy Point or other Resorts. Within the next month or so, I called to make a reservation at Stormy Point. I was informed it would be $799+ taxes! What happened to our 4 weeks? I finally managed to get hold of Danny Austin, he didn't remember anything about 4 weeks! He also told me he was no longer at Summer Winds, and he and a partner were starting their own business involving timeshares!
I have purchased Jim Faucett's book on Amazon. It s titled...write a letter: cancel your timeshare and get a refund. It has great reviews on another site about Big Cedar! Anyway, I sent letters to several places about Summer Winds. We are out! But without a refund. Lost down payment and one monthly payment. Big Cedar will probably be much more painful as it is paid in full! Branson has a very bad reputation concerning timeshares!

We just bought at Stormy Point in Branson. I told my husband that I felt pressured and uncomfortable. We told them that we would just like to sell our Wyndham time shares. Of course, Summer Winds, tells us that they are willing to buy our Wyndham time shares from us and give us a great deal. They are willing to wave our maintenance fees for almost 3 yrs. They say, they are the top 125 time share companies in the World. I had never heard of them before now. My husband took out a loan from our bank to pay them $30, 000 as soon as our loan goes through. We were told to fax or send a photo of our Wyndham deeds asap. No one has called us to ask for the deeds since we have been back from our presentation & signing of documents. It has been 11 days since and still no phone calls. I called a company who buys time shares and she told me how it works with purchasing time shares. I also called RCI to see if we could keep our points since we rolled them over in Dec. RCI never heard of Summer Winds either. I am afraid we will be stuck with our Wyndham time share and occur Summer Winds on top of what we already have. I am very nervous about my husbands decision to continue pursuing this transaction. Please someone call us. [protected]- Lorie

I had the same issues that you have described about this resort. Stormy Points is beautiful but the sales staff are unethical and have bad business practices. The first thing is they offer you a deal for today only and when you tell them no they come out from back and offer you a much better package. After purchasing the package you then find the real reason they offered it to you and it is completely different than you were told. BUYER BEWARE because there are a lot of hidden things not told you. I could write a book about deception of Stormy Points Village. BUYERS BEWARE this is fraud and deception

Summer Winds Resorts scam artists

I am tired of Summer Winds Resort Services scams. I was their member 2 years ago. Since that time I am trying to cancel this membership and it seems impossible. They don’t answer calls and emails, however when comes time for annual charges they appear and take money.

Summer Winds Resorts summerwinds contracts dept

Myself & cousin purchased a vacation ownership at Stormy Point on October 20.2011. He paid 750.00 and I paid 750.00 that was a total for our down payment, He lives in Missouri I live in Texas, he paid with his credit card, I paid with a personal check..Within a day and a half, we had learned alittle more about how it would work, that were not made clear until we revisited with one of the contract closers with some very direct questions for him to answer, to find out what we were concerned about was exactly something we didnt want. so we opted out ..We were told the credt card would be refunded and my check would be returned. All we needed to do was return the binder on the property and give them a written letter that we were canceling.I even went and prepared it and sent if certified mail..It was confirmed we had canceled..He is credit card was refunded soon after, I have never recieved my check, 3 wks later it was cashed, I should have put a stop payment on the check, they assured me I would receive it.. they have never issued me a new check.I have called to get the run around it is being refunded.I received the other day from my relative in Missouri that purchased it with me. He received a check Feb 15, 2012 issued to him & me with us both sharing his last name as if we are married. which is no good...Iam to the point of furious...it has been over 4 months and it still is not refunded.when I called today about it the first lady I spoke to was very sincereand truely wanted to help me .she transferred me to contracts to someone called Megan.and she did nothing but be very short with me saying she doesnt issue checks, she didnt do it, she had no concern about it being 4 months, she acted like it had only been 2 or 3 wks, she said the both of us only gave them 1 address .I assured her I had the paperwork in front of me.My name was clearly stated along with address on it ..including on my check, , she repeated it only had one 1 address. I stated then someone entered into your system wrong, and I ask her so your telling me as well that my name was written down by me with my first name in front of his last name.because the check was also in his & my first name sharing his last name.she at that point when she couldnt blame it anywhere else, she said listen do u want me to help you or not.I replied absolutely not.I wish to talk to someone else or the supervisor..she said no problem..then hung up on me..she had my # and never called me back ..Never once in the beginning of the conversation appoligized.in the middle of the conversation or at the end of the conversation..It was as if we had made all the mistakes that is why I hadnt received my check. The contract had us down as co owners very clearly his name and address on one side, my name and address on the other.in 2 different towns and states and certainly with 2 different names.not to mention all the information on my check..Oh wait I forgot thy didnt have my check on hand when the check was issued they cashed it the 1st of November 2011..It is completely out of line to not appoligize at the very least ..If you work for a company you have to accept wrong doing as a whole..especially if the proof is in front of you..but no she refused..I have contacted the supervisors voice mail...

Summer Winds Resorts harrassment

I receive calls from this company constantly. I have asked to be removed from their call lists but continue to get calls. They call all hours of the day and night and I cannot manage to make them cease. I am hoping this is the next step.

November 2017 we were in Branson with a Sister and Brother in law who is a time share efficianato. He has used time shares for many years sitting through countless hours of sales pitches for the freebies, show tickets, visa cash cards, meal vouchers, free stays in resort areas. He had purchased weeks in the past, discovered they are not an asset but a perpetual liability and had to actually pay to get out from under the annual maintenance fees, loosing the initial purchase price as well as the ever increasing fees. He is now trying to recoup his loss by taking the free nights, tickets, and any other vigorish he can faniggle to justify being duped by the con. Summer Winds was the same as the rest, offering free food, show tickets, free nights stays all for agreeing to endure a 90 minuet presentation highlighting the benefits of signing up for a 40 to 50 thousand dollar time share with lifetime perpetual maintainance fees. The sales rep was nice, trying to build rapport and got insulting when we persisted the plan was not for us. He asked why we even signed up for the 90 minuet ( actually 31/2 hour) pitch if we weren't going to buy, we told him it was for the free show tickets and was insulted. If they didn't want to use enticements to lure in suckers the should not feel hurt by people who don't bite on their scheme. Quit whining, get a real job and stop scamming people into bad decisions. Summer Winds is just like all the rest, crooked, seedy and underhanded. CAVEAT EMPTOR ******BUYER BEWARE!

We went for the 90 minute presentation which lasted 4.5 hours. At first, we wanted a day to think about it and they said that they wouldn't give us our hotel voucher or anything else, including our $50 deposit until tomorrow, but the hotel was clear that they wanted it that day. I panicked. We agreed to by the explorers package which could be put towards the deed if we wanted. Until then we would get a free week and access to the other membership benefits such as a discounted stay in another resort and discounted plane tickets, etc. They said that we would get our membership information in about a month. That time has gone and went. Funny thing is that we got a call about a month and a half later asking us to come again. We told the person we already made a purchase and they had no record of us. We called them back and they still couldn't find us. We waited a few more weeks and called back. We explained our situation and this person was very rude and treated us like ### saying that we wouldn't get anything until had paid off the explorers package, which is not what was explained to us at all. When we called back again that person was more polite and gave us the email address to send our questions to, but we have yet to receive a reply. Yet the money is coming out of our account like clockwork. They also lied about a resort existing at a location we were interested in to trick us into buying. I feel helpless.

So confused. Got the police report and they totally lied about everything. That really shouldn't surprise me since that is what they are paid to do. I wonder if they are going to do that under oath when in court? All I ask is all of the calls I am getting is for everyone to slow down and let the justice system handle it. They actually said I threw a punch at them and I have statements that state they assaulted me and I never lifted a hand.
Social media will be unleashed at the right time. To the hundreds of people who have contacted me just sit tight and see if they do the right thing. As far as the picket signs out front etc. they are in the height of the season so again wait until I get back to you. Thanks for the support.

We bought into Stormy Point Village in Branson, MO in 2005. Looking back we fell for the "one day only" pressure sales tactics. Fast forward 5 years and we are told by Summer Winds that they are purchasing from Festiva owners because they are the absolute worst company and we will have no value to trade with Interval International if we stay with them. Summer Winds is of course, the primo value and if we stay with Festiva who knows what will happen? We might be responsible for taxes or even payments of the property since we are owners and have a deed. We fell for the lies once again and paid another 6 grand to go with the "best" value of all time being Summer Winds. Fast forward another 5 years and are offered a weekend at Stormy Point for OWNERS but we have to go to an hour long sales pitch. So we agree so we can stay at the place we actually have a deed for. The salesman ( former military) was fairly nice. We told him the problems we had, which were many, of course he was shocked to hear anyone would ever have a problem with SW. Then he proceeds to tell us we paid 6 grand for membership with SW, we are not OWNERS with SW. I am totally confused. Apparently some people that bought "our" cottage are still with Festiva and until they totally surrender to SW and agree to pay thousands more, we only have the value of Festiva when we trade and oh, buy the way, you are having problems because you are with Trading Places and that was a terrible program that they only had for two years and that's our whole problem. Well, who knew? We sure didn't know that and BTW, SW now owns Interval International. They apparently bought it out of the goodness of their hearts for their customer, BUT it really won't be 100% theirs for 5 years so there could still be some problems since your dealing with people in India. But for a 7 grand upgrade to be in the Admiral Club, everything will be wonderful. The sky will be bluer, the vacations will fall into your lap because you now have a concierge to help but you don't want to spend 7 grand for a 4 bedroom upgrade? How about a 3 bedroom? It will only be 4 grand and you won't have quite the benefits of the 4 bedroom but it will still be absolutely better than what you have now. We aren't spending another dime and if we keep getting the run around I might contact the MO State Atty General.

We rolled over from Festiva Resorts to Summer Winds at the cost of $5, 000. We were told that if we did not use our week for the year, we were entitled to a refund of our maintenance fee. We did not use our week in 2015, so in November I called for our refund. I was told that we had to enroll in the "Maintenance Fee Refund Program" in January. Today, 1/7/2016, I called to enroll in the Maintenance Fee Refund Program just in case we are not able to use our week this year. The girl told me that they were "full". Full? Then she said I have to give up my week to get the refund. I'm not giving up my week, and I can't see into the future and know if my week will be unused. I called back and spoke with a manager and had the same conversation. I was clearly lied to concerning this refund program, which obviously does not even exist.

We were "invited" to attend a "presentation" about Stormy Point in Branson and we would be provided $30 for a local restaurant, 3 nights accommodations at a local hotel (why not the resort?) then refunded $75 of the $139 we paid to reserve a space. Oh, a couple of show tickets and a pass to drive through the Christmas light display. Sadly, I didn't read the reviews about these guys until the night before the minimum of 90 minute presentation was to take place. I came out of there with the things we were promised but not before a real fight and avoidance of some typical hard pressing sales tactics taken from some of the oldest sales books written (yes I'm a salesperson). Here's what they will try and how to avoid it. First is the cattle call. Your all put in a big room to wait for your salesperson to greet you. I believe what is going on is while you wait, you are being paired up with a salesperson who they believe will be most effictive at selling you a very expensive vacation package. In my opinion, the asking price for their timeshare is insane. More on that in a minute. So the little old folks were paired with the nice young women. Me being 45 male, tall, stocky, and probably had the "I don't want to be here look" was paired with the fast talking used car salesman. We will call him J. So once J brought my wife and I into this huge room where there was dose a of small round tables with plenty of coffee, soft drinks, etc. Ince in the big room, they start offering you this stuff in order to get you comfortable. Then the million questions start. What do you do, how many kids, where do you like to go for fun, blah blah blah. What I did prior to this line of questioning was ask "how long does this take and when can I leave?" J looked a little surprised that I asked this since I guess they assume we knew it was 90 minutes. I then told J that I was not interested in a timeshare and that I was willing to listen since we already agreed to show up but that I didn't want to stay past the two hour mark. J seemed off his game a little but he also agreed to this. I would do this again if I ever do this again. It set the expectation that I wasn't going to fall for their shenanigans. The rest of the presentation consisted of what I call the "yes game". J kept asking questions that get you to say yes. Isn't the sky blue? Don't you like puppies? Wouldn't you like to vacation here? It's another old sales tactic so when the real expensive questions, you've been conditioned to say yes. It's slimy and ridiculous. So I watch out for that. The whole time I kept tight lipped. A lit of times I wouldn't even answer his questions because I knew what he was trying to do. Just left awkward silence. So we toured the resort (which was nice) but where everything went off the rails was when we came back to the big room for the numbers and "the close". Again, I expected this. So we sit with J again and he starts talking numbers. The thing that sent me from zero to pissed was when J called over his manager to work us up a deal. The deal was $25k over 4 years at 20% interest. J turns to his manager and says "once you make these folks a great deal they will be your next owners". I reminded them that I said I wasn't interested and told them that from the beginning. The manager (plaid pants and all) then insulted my wife after she said something about the cost then asked me "do you know a good buy when you see one?" I told him I didn't care what kind of deal he had because I'm not buying anything and he said "NO GOODBYE!" They took us to the gift area and gave us our gifts. The manager couldn't have been a bigger a hole and couldn't have insulted us more. Horrible people and inexcusable behavior.

We rolled over to Summer Winds at Stormy Point in August of 2014 at the tune of $5, 000 to get out of Festiva Resorts. We were told that if you did not use your week for the year, your maintenance fee would be refunded, and also, if you wanted to sell your timeshare, they would help with that. Lies, lies, lies lies. We just got a bill for the 2016 maintenance fee. I called owner services at [protected] and was told that you have to "enroll" into the "maintenance refund program" in January to be eligible for the refund, AND they do NOT help you with selling the timeshare. I told the lady that my hemorrhoids were hanging to my knees from them screwing me so much and that I was sick, sick, sick of their lies. It is a shame that such liars and unscrupulous people run this place because it is a beautiful resort.
