I purchased my flooring in January 2014, I loved the floor and it really looks nice. But I have an issue about cleaning it. We wash it with water (very little) and no matter what we use, we have to hand dry it with micro cloth on our hands and knees, if not when we walk across it, it leaves foot prints. This is a very big area (20cases of flooring) room is 26 X 14. We have tried Pergo spray, Bona, and water, nothing works without drying hands and knees. I am not able to get down and do this, so I have to hire someone to do it, I have lost one lady, she just could not do it either, now the one I have to clean is having a hard time and back aches after cleaning. Have you had a recall on this flooring ? I purchased this at Loews in Anderson, IN and they say this flooring shouldn't do this to contact Pergo. Please help
Pergo XP Extreme Performance
We spent $6500 on Pergo XP Cross Sawn Chestnut in Fall 2012. It was installed in 5 rooms, a hallway, and a closet. It sounds terrible when we walk on it - creaks, cracks, pops, sounds like walking on bubble wrap. Called Pergo in 2013 - they said it probably needed to "settle" more. Home Depot kind of said the same thing. Then last year, I just couldn't take it anymore. We had someone visit and it was so embarrassing to have these noisy floors! Our guest asked if the floors were old! In September 2015, complained to Home Depot - they sent a guy that didn't seem like he knew anything about floors. He said it was a baseboard issue - which was interesting because the rooms that have the Pergo downstairs have baseboards and the rooms upstairs that have Pergo don't have baseboards (we never re-installed them upstairs because we were waiting to see if floor needed to be redone.) Then they sent a guy from Pergo - of course he blamed it on installers, but didn't really say what the problem was. Then Home Depot sent independent inspector who said that maybe we need more transitions. Really?! It cracks and creaks in our 6 x 9 closet! I am so disappointed in this product and Home Depot is not responding to messages I am leaving. We have been so nice and so patient with Home Depot - have not gotten angry with them, but I filed a complaint against them yesterday and am hoping they will somehow resolve this. I don't know if I should also file complaint against Pergo at the same time? I just know that I spent way too much money on a poor product and I wish Pergo would step up and admit that their products have problems and fix them!
Laminate flooring
purchased 2000 sq. ft pergo max floating floor from lowes 9/2014. installed by our contractor and looks great in our new home. the first week we noticed squeaks and noises which are getting worse by the day. we complained to lowes who sent a pergo inspector out to our house. he spent about 4 minutes here and checked the moisture content and left. we later...

I have over last 15 years have had pergo flooring in my slab home.. 5 months ago I remodeled my home and invested in pergo max.. It was beautiful in the store and I was very excited to put it in my home.. How beautiful it was.. but now I am noticeing that where the planks connect they don't look right.. on further investigation.. I found several and I mean several areas where the floor has buckled.. in numerous areas... I know you can not get it wet wet.. I have followed manufactored directions and spritz with vinegar water and wiped up.. I have never had this problem before.. I even invested in exspensive 4 in 1 underlay .. I though it would cushion floor and help to insulate... I also just as a precaution put a water sealant under laminete.. I moved the pipes and had new concrete poured so I wanted to make sure it was sealed... (i waited over 2 months before I put flooring down.) I also have noticed that it is not as shiny ( which is one of the reasons I was attracted to it) this was a exspensive floor.. and very unhappy with how it turned out! I have 3 very well trainded dogs that never go in house... I am at a loss at to what to do.. I have read repeatedly that pergo is very hard to deal with when it comes to there warrenty... I wish I had studied up before.. (but have never had a problem in past) I am a single women and will be paying for this floor for a while. I should have kept the pergo that was in there!
Awful customer service
one month ago we purchased over $1, 000 of PERGO Presto Grey Yew flooring from our local Home Depot. After installing a few rows we noticed the joints weren't coming together properly. I called PERGO and explained and they told me the flooring was mismilled and to simply return to the store and they would replace. Here is where the problems come in...they had to special order another shipment. PERGO stated they would "expedite" our delivery. That was 3 weeks ago. I had a customer service contact through PERGO via email. 5 days ago she quit emailing me updates and won't respond to my inquiries. So my next step was to call the PERGO customer service line. After re-explaining all of my issues with the rep on the phone he started trying to divert the issues on Home Depot. While I tried explaining a second time what was going on he simply hung up on me. Now I have two rooms with no floor, a $1, 000 bill to Home Depot, and absolutely no one from PERGO to address my concerns/complaints. I highly recommend that no one use this brand (PERGO) ever! I can't believe the lack of service after purchasing a so called top of the line product.
Squeaking occurred a few weeks after installation the company that installed the floor were very helpful in coming and relaying although 3 weeks on its all happening again where do I go from here?
Regards Ominda
Bad product
Pergo lamnete flooring that has a life time warrenty is chipping all over the floor. It was installed correctly but company refuses to replace it. 50 years i have used cheaper flooring in rental houses and have never had a problem that i am having with a much more expensive floor. They have sent two differant inspectors and they don't agree on the problem. It is just a bad product. Glenn Sensabaugh
Transitions
Lowes in Riverhead, N.Y. Is insisting on selling me transitions for Pergo laminate flooring that is running through 2 rooms and a small hallway 670 sq ft. Lowes informed me that my warranty would be void with Pergo if I did not put transitions in doorways due to buckling and explanation issues! I called Pergo and verified that this is true! I also verified that buckling is not covered under Pergo's warranty anyway! This is very misleading on Lowes end as well as Pergo! They make you feel safe with this lifetime warranty but is a false sense of security. I'm so glad I investigated Pergo and Lowes before I picked up my order! I'm going to stick with real hardwood floors!
They don't cover bucking or board separation under their warranty! Lowe's informed me that the transitions would prevent that and if I didn't get them the warranty would be void. The point is Pergo doesn't warrant against buckling or board separation at all, even with transitions!
You want them to honor a warranty when you choose to go against the manufacture specifications? Do you also think that when you buy a new car and choose to not change the oil the dealership should give you a new car? ALL flooring has specifications as to what you can and can not do with it. This is not shady business on Lowes and Pergos part. I will refrain from telling you the rest if what I think about this comment.
Chipping, discoloration, scratches, wrapping around edges
We purchased the pergo Maxx because Lowe's sold us on the lifetime warranty and that it was the best flooring around. This flooring is a piece of crap! Chips, discoloration and warped around the edges even though we followed all the rules of cleaning it. Pergo nor Lowe's will help us with a warranty on this product. 3000+ down the drain
Worthless Warranty
I had Pergo on my previous house from [protected] and it was great! So I decided to install it on my new house in 2005. I did it thru Home Depot. I cost me $3, 972.54 between labor and materials. A month ago I saw some small white spots in my room. I also noticed a few planks were decolorizing. But I also noticed (and this was what scared me the most) there...

I had installed Pergo Laminated flooring (PVT 28032) in my new Villa, at Cochin, Kerala, during December 2007, and received a Warranty Certificate Sl. No. 045/08 dated 03/01/2008 offering me a Lifetime warranty for the installation. The work was carried out by Aazman Enterprises, Cochin - 21, and the Warranty Certificate, too, was issued under their seal. It is under 4 years old and the floor has already peeled off in some places and bubbled up in some other places. When I contacted a gentleman called Sameer (who mentioned that he was the Regional Manager for Pergo, based in Cochin), he claimed that the floor had got damaged because of 'water seepage'. I was shocked to hear his statement, since there was no trace of waters eepage / dampness, anywahere and, moreover, waterseepage, if any, could not have affected in small pockets. His behaviour, too, was not couteous or customer-friendly. When I showed the floor damage to another knowledgeable person, he mentioned that the defects had arisen because of faulty installation.
I am seeking redressal of my grievance (repalcement of the damaged flooring - approx. 40 sq. metres) and I want Pergo to honour the Lifetime Warranty Certificate issued to me. I believe that Pergo would be a Company with business ethics and customer-centric policies. I look forward to hearing from you. Poor labour service and Damage of wood
This is with utmost disappointment that I am writing this. We had Pergo flooring laid in our Dining and drawing rooms last year (2010) May.THis year on June 4th we saw buckling and termite near the steps leading from living to dining room. My main complaints are --- Your Pergo people here never warned us about possibility of Termite, Secondly on launching the complain their response was so cold and indifferent and service atrocious as if it was our falt. Finally they agreed to remove the planks and on doing so to our great dismay and shock we found that they had not laid the plastic layer of sheating over the steps, which I gather they are supposed to do before laying the the floor as was done over the rest of the area. As I said before the prblem was over the steps and had spread from there! ( as noticed by us and the workers on removing the planks ). Finally your agents here -Kozhikode district, Kerala State, India are most irresponsible and not at all customer friendly. Hence I am demanding a compensation was the damage and replaced planks . By the way we are asked to pay the labourers and also for the replaced planks, I am most disappointed with PERGO and YOUR Agents here.Hoping to hear from you ASP before mattres turn ugly.

bad flooring
Last year my husband installed a natural hickory pergo floor to replace a Swiftlock floor which was too dark for my liking. I am sorry to say that we are not pleased with it at all. The only thing we like about it is the color. The Swiftlock brand floor that we replaced was in better shape after 5 years of use than the Pergo one after only a couple of months. There are a few pieces that have look like the locking system on the side of it failed and is covered in so many scratches even though we have used rubber and felt chair protectors. We went with Pergo brand instead of Swiftlock because we thought it would be even more durable. We moved the Swiftlock into two other rooms in our home and it still looks beautiful! A month or so after installing the Pergo, I called customer service with my complaints, and they said, "have the kids dance on it with socks on." We have had to be more careful with something that promised superior durability. I am sorry to say that anyone looking for flooring, we tell them to stay away from Pergo brand.

Buyers beware of Pergo hardwood floors
Pergo now makes hardwood floors. We purchased 450 sq feet of it in January 2006, and installed it. In 5 weeks the floor began to dent, as well as develop odd markings where no one even walked.
I complained to Pergo who then advised me to go to Lowes where we purchased it and file a complaint.
They sent a rep out who made sure the floor was level and properly installed. That is what his report reflected and that there were no errors on our part. And he clearly stated "yes", there are dents and marks in localized areas.
But his opinion was the floor was not defective. So the claim was denied. What wood floor dents for no apparent reason? Only two adults live in this home.
Pergo said their warranty doesn't cover dents. The floor cost $2000 and is on delayed billing with Lowes. Lowes has stepped in but this has now been going on from April 3rd to today June 28, 2006, and the payment is due in 30 days.
I have a damaged floor thru no fault of my own and soon I will either be out $2000 or my credit will have a mark when I don't pay the bill.
My point is do not buy Pergo hardwood. They are new at making it. They claim it's Northern oak but it wears like soft pine.
It is a "looking at" floor, not a "living on" floor!
cracking noise
I too had pergo flooring in january 2010 with lowe's installed, everything was fine at first. Now since humidity start to kreep up the floor is making a cracking sound all over. I had this installed thruout the entire downstairs in the house. Kitchen, Dinning Room, Bathroom, as well as the Family Room. Every Room is making this awful cracking niose. It sounds like we are walking on bubble wrap.

I have the same exact problem. Pergo XP in 5 rooms, hallway, and closet - spent $6500 - it creaks and pops and cracks everywhere. I just feel like crying! I have had 3 inspectors come from Home Depot - first representing HD, second from Pergo, third was independent. They all say different things. 7 months later and I still have no resolution. A lot of hard earned money on a product I am embarrassed to have guests walk on. Have you complained or gotten a resolution? Thx.
I have same problem, happened immediately after install. Installer told me it would go away. Never did...not I hear cracking everywhere I walk! I hate it already. I feel the product is faulty with the joints..
Creeking floor everywhere
WE HAD PERGO FLOORS FOR 6 YEARS (RED OAK) AND RECENTLY had an insurance loss. The whole floor was replaced again and we never had creeking before. My installer says it will go away, but I doubt it now after reading this other mans complaint. I have contacted pergo, but I can see I will have to take this to another level . The quarter round is now painted and someone will be fixing this floor. THE CREEK HAS TO GO!
i installed a pergo laminate floor into rental property 6 months ago, my tennant called me and all of the butt ends are curling up, what is the cause of this

I just installed Pergo in my kitchen and am experiencing the same thing. The tong and grove does not hold the weight of people walking on it.
Bad experience
We also bought a PERGO floor from Home Depot, & the "25/30-year warranty" was one of the reasons we bought it. The Home Depot salesperson told us it was one of the best floor warranties available, & we trusted Home Depot & our salesperson & didn't read it word for word. 4 months after installation, our floor also is snapping & popping when walking on it the same as the other consumer stated that his was. It is also peeling, chipping, pulling apart, and now buckling as other PERGO owners are experiencing. It's become dangerous, and someone could fall. And now, when we need our PERGO warranty to replace it & desperately need their help, they quickly passed the buck onto the installer, blame him, & refuse to give us one penny or any help at all! It is their product! Of course we will contact our installer. However, I really don't think that he installed ALL of these consumers floors that are having the same problem. Additionally, I am already disabled & unable to walk more than a few steps at a time. And now I'm afraid I may trip over the buckled edges and fall. I need a secure, stable flooring! But what do we have instead? We have a situation where the more that people walk on this floor, the more it breaks apart & begins to buckle and lift up. I truly question how quickly PERGO passed the buck on our situation, & I am sure with so many other complaints, they have forgotten all about us. I also question why Home Depot didn't inform us of the installation difficulty level of this PERGO floor until AFTER we filed our claim with them for help from PERGO. **Not ONE word was said when we paid them all the money we had for this floor.** Had we been warned prior to the purchase, we either A) would never have bought it or B) while our installer is very reputable, we would have also warned him about the difficulty of a Pergo floor installation. I so much want to be hopeful that the PERGO people will make this right if they see this, but I have become mistrustful of this company...especially after reading the many, MANY other problems other consumers are having. I appreciate this forum which allows me to express our frustration & hope other consumers reading this won't make our mistake trust the PERGO warranty. I, along with the others, recommend looking at some other type of laminate flooring. We are stuck with a very defective & dangerous new and costly PERGO floor, & I am just so confused & saddened by the entire experience.

I agree totally. As the above complaint I purchased pergo and had 2 large rooms and a hallway installed. Shortly after, it chipped turned up at edges and buckled. I put in a claim to Pergo months ago, finally today I was contacted by Lowes (my go between, since Pergo would never call me back) and they told me the claim was denied by pergo, now I guess the dispute is between me and Lowes, I don't have much hope of recovering any of my $3, 000. lost on this venture. I think Pergo and Lowes keep you holding on so long for a decision (in my case 4 months) that by the time they denie the claim you are so tired of living in such upheaval that you just give up. I have been living on 1/2 pergo and 1/2 cement since the new contractor removed part of the pergo until we deceided to wait for the pergo approval or denial. What to do now?
I have the same problem with Pergo laminate. Had it installed by Lowes subcontractor and had problems since day 1. Needed to have the transition strips and mouldings replaces numerous times. Now the floor is loosing color and chipping with every joint loose or gapping. Had a Pergo rep out but still haven't heard from Lowes about any repair or replacement for this lousy product. Have this in my kitchen, hallway, and powder room. Paid over $4400 and thought that the 25 year warranty product would hold up since their ad has a very large great dane that "can't destroy" the floor. What a crock! Lowes store instillation manager promised to contact me with product resolution, but here I sit waiting... and still have junk for flooring. Don't buy Pergo - RUN FAST - their warranty is worthless!
customer service/poor floors
In Feb 2009 I went to Lowes and purchased Pergo laminate flooring w/in 4 days the short end seems were popping and creeking. Went back to lowes who filed a claim for us. Inspector came out and Pergo said it was product defect and they would honor their warrenty. That is where all cooperation from Pergo ends! It is now the end of Sept and I still do not have my new floors and at this point I want PERGO out of my house! When Pergo sent my claim back to Lowes w/ the amount they would pay for labor and the flooring, pergo was off by $245.00 for flooring and then later it came out that they short changed us on labor funds as well. The poor people at Lowes have been getting such the run around and aparently they only person at pergo who can make a decision on anything is "Barb" who just so happens to NEVER pick up her line! Pergo said that in order for them to honor a warrenty on my new floors( they have yet to be installed) I need to put down some black plastic stuff, ok that is fine I don't mind paying for that. BUT I DO mind having to repay for my transition pieces and my quater round! That should NOT come out of my pocket again and Pergo continually asks Lowes to fax them my reciepts proving what I paid for. The poor girl at Lowes has a stack of faxes proving she has faxed all my info about 10 times since April 09!At this point I want just want carpet back and I want to be done w/ Pergo FOREVER! I think it's crazy that Pergo is willing to loose a customer over $245.00 when this customer spent $1200.00 on the flooring to begin with! You can bet I will tell everybody who will listen how much I LOATH Pergo and their shoddy buisness practice! I really do wonder if there really is a "Barb" who works at Pergo...Hmm I guess I will never know since she seems to forever be at lunch or on the other line. On the other hand Lowes has been great with their help and are as equally frustrated as I am. Thank you Lowes and SHAME ON PERGO!

I installed $1200.oo worth of pergo flooring in my dining room/living room combination in May. The flooring has finish missing on some pieces of flooring. We filed a complaint through Lowe's and they sent out a person to inspect the floor. Pergo then sent us a claim verification and said that they would pay for the repairs. I faxed the information on the repairs (TWICE) and I have heard nothing back from them! It seems as though my issue is the same as the other guy above in that Pergo will not stand behind their warranty. Now I also have four places in my floor that are buckling and I'm not sure what to do about that but it is annoying to walk across the floor and push the floor down with your foot. Pergo sucks and I would not recommend them to anyone! The finish scratches easily (from kitchen chairs and dog paws even) and it is supposed to be 30% stronger than other floors. Bull crap! This flooring is not anywhere near high quality that I paid for. Do not buy this flooring! Tina
Incompatibility of planks
Installed Pergo Presto flooring a couple of years ago. A panel was recently damaged, I obtained a new box from Home Depot. After unlocking planks to get out to the damaged one, and opening the box of new ones, I find that the length, width, and locking grooves do not match the existing floor! What do I have to do to get stuff that will fit togather? I do NOT want to have to replace the entire floor! Home Depot folks are clueless, Pergo's website is useless, as is the listed phone number.

Shoddy floor
I am hoping that someone can help me in finding out if a class action lawsuit is the way to go. We built a new house last May (2006) and had a large amount of Pergo Accolade installed. Immediately upon moving in the floor began "cricking" and "snapping". The flooring retailer (whom our builder chose) filed a claim with Pergo, they sent a rep out and determined it was a faulty product. The floor was replaced. Almost immediately afterwards the floor began making worse noises, more cricking (although less of that than before), loud thuds in certain areas, unsightly seams, and a couple spots where, if you step on it right, you can actually feel the seam separate under your bare feet. We had Pergo come out again and we just found out that they are denying the 2nd claim. They state it is not due to a product defect, but they also don't say it's an installation problem either. The inspector told me when he came out that he is seeing a lot of this type of problem in newer houses becaue of the type of beam construction they're built with (which is to code). When I pressed him further (wondering if maybe our builder was somehow responsible) he clammed up and told me he was not really at liberty to talk about it.
After doing a lot of internet research I have found that this is a VERY common problem with Pergo, and that they routinely deny claims and give consumers the run around. Just from what I've seen online it seems to me that there is grounds for a class action suit. We spent thousands of dollars on this shoddy floor, which was sold to us as "the best". We have a house that is only one year old and we've had problems with the Pergo from day one. We want our money back so that we can replace the Pergo with a different product. Had we known of these issues with Pergo we would not have chosen the product for our new home. We only chose the Pergo brand because the flooring retailer highly recommended it. Can anyone help?
Laminate floors are a fraud!
I can't believe to see so many others having the same issues with Pergo like I have, and I always thought I was the only one to think something was wrong with my floor. I purchased my Pergo floor in Dec. 2009 and it looked great, I was very happy with the looks of it, but very shortly after the floor started to deteriorate. The Floor started a crackling...
