Pioneer Credit Recovery loan rehab programs

The representatives at this company are unprofessional and rude. It amazes me that you can talk to 3 different people and get 3 different answers. They are underhanded liars that do not honor agreements made in writing. I can not believe that companies like Sally Mae even do buisness with them.

Pioneer Credit Recovery rip off

This company uses scare tactics, threats, and all-in-all atrocious behavior in attempts to collect a debt. They are patronizing, harassing me at my place of employment, and are in no way attempting to meet an agreement on the terms under which I am able to make payments.

They have also requested my routing and account numbers over the phone, which I refuse to provide.

The people at this company do not know how to effectively communicate and would do well to have someone treat them with as much disrespect as they have shown me.

omg - I got a bill saying I owe the Defense Finance and Accounting $ 21128.95 . Its time for everyone to sign a LAW petition to go after them for accounts of fraud, harrassment, and all FELONY charges for discrediting me- in my credit reports. I called them up and tolf them owe me an appology letter and if they continue to pursue this my lawyer will take full Legal action. I worry about people like grandparents- who fall for this tactic.

I just called my Attorney for direction. I owe money for my student loan and I will pay my loan. HOWEVER, I will not be bullied at work, I will not be talked down to as if I am a low life. I pay my bills and I pay my AES loan every month.
For 3437.00 this little twit and her manager told me that my wages will be garnished, my income tax return will be turned over to them and ... guess what? your gonna have BAD CREDIT! well, wecome to the USA. PLUS, I was not allowed to speak to my husband this evening to come up with a payment plan that we could afford. OH NO, I had to POST DATE a check for $1000.00, or for $600.00 or I could give as little as $300.00... BY FRIDAY Dec. 30th. and AFTER post dating a check they will take a monthly payment of either $61.00 or $188.00 a month for 8 months... THEN they will have SOLD my debt and someone else will call me to arrange payments! THIS IS A NIGHTMARE! BUT my attorney will advise me and I'll move foreward from there.

They are not above the law and do not have a license to harass and stalk.
I had a woman say on my answering machine from Pioneer you owe 35, 000!
I couldn't believe it, she didn't even know if she had the correct person.
Pioneer also called mt elderly Mother in Law and told her I had a 35, 000 CREDIT CARD balance.
Its student loans that are in the process of total disability discharge.
Send them a certified cease and desist letter, then document every call there after.
Contact a Attorney.

Please let me know if you receive any response on how to dispute all these garnishment from Pioneer Recovery.
They are not satisfied with the $70 they take out from my Social Security Disability income, they had to offset my whole income tax refund as well. This is all for a 2002 student loan they claim I had. But I thought that my whole Federal Student loan is in forbearance with the U.S. Department of Educatin. They are rude and claims not to have the money, but the U.S. Department of Education do. The Illinois Student Commission were the ones who told me Pioneer is the one garnishing my income and offset my income tax. I am so stressed out, I don't know what to do.

I am disabled and is receiving very low monthly socical security disability with 3 kids I am raising on my own. Plus the Medicare cost, I cannot afford to lose my income tax refund. Pioneer Recovery is already taking out $70 a month from my less than $820 SSD income. I think this is just wrong for them to do. I would like to get some advise on how I can file a dispute about the income tax refund they intercepted. Please someone give me some advise. Thank you.

First they called me at my job and insisted that this matter be taken care of right away. The first woman I talked to was very nice and then she let me have a supervisor who was very rude. She demanded that I borrow the money from my boyfriend to pay my debt. She then said she would contact the Dept of Education and tell them that I refused to pay my debt. She said that she would let them know right away that I refused to take care of this debt. When I told her that it was Christmas time she said she did not care that I needed to send 196.00 today or she would have my wages garnished. I told her that I was going to report her to my legislators and she said they would do nothing for me. I told her I would contact the Dept of Education and she said they would refer me back to her. I told her to have a lousy Christmas and to never call my job again. I had to hang up as she was yelling at me to borrow the money from my boyfriend.

I have receives so many calls on my phone from them asking me to call them and when you try your best to call them on your off day or any day that you can get through to them they get mad because you have not return any of there phone calls back and want to know why you have not. They will not let you try to explain yourself. People have a life and family to take care of because if my children or parents are sick they will come first and I know they will do the same because that what a parent do. Everything do not have to be about them. They take there job to there head and think they can talk to you any can of a way and think that it is okay to tell you if you don't do something buy the time they tell you they will have to do there job I don't know what ever that might be because it not trying to help the people who can't pay them or trying there best to do what they can to pay them off. I just want to say I do not care if they say they have you on recorder saying that we will do something the next day meaning that we would because you never know what might go on or happen between that time you talk to them and the next day. People get sick, in car wreck, get put in the hospital for any kind of reason, loss there jobs, or death. I am just saying so stop calling like you will loss your job or getting upset when we don't answer the phone. We have a lift to live and it's not going to be always about Pioneer Credit Recovery Inc.

I've read so many times people implying that people are going to college and not "wanting" to pay their loans. Not the case with some. My school closed for imbezzling. I heard of rumors months before they actually closed and withdrew 6 mos prior and started attending another school closer to home. None of the credits transferred and I started all over. Those loans I incurred at the first college could have been forgiven had I stayed until 3 mos prior. I borrowed $24K, now they're up to $122K. I've been fighting them for years. Had wages garnished and taxes taken. Now Pioneer Credit Recovery has them and they were so kind to tack on another $24k right from the start before making a phone call to me.

Do not acknowledge the debt, insist you receive a signed promissory note before you will even discuss repayment options they cannot garnish wages until you acknowledge the loan is yours. So Do Not Fill out any paperwork with income information thinking they will take your bills and your net income in consideration this is for them to get a judge to sign the wage withholding and they will screw you, not caring how much that 15% will take away from your children and your household needs, please protect yourself against them call your county and try to get some free legal advice before you fill out any requested paperwork from them. They are ruthless and yes very harassing I wish now I never allowed City College to apply for loans on my behalf I honestly don't know how much or how many I have. I have been approved for forbearance on my Sallie Mae loan this one is with Key Bank and somehow did not fall into the forbearance.

Look the fact is that you do owe debts, i dont get why it is that everyone seems to think they should be allowed to receive a free education and not pay it back. I understand that people run into hard times but thats why you have certain options like deferments and etc when you are not in default. Then when you are in default and they are doing their jobs by calling you so that they can pay their bills you all get sue happy. imagine if you loaned a friend only 1000 dollars and he promised to pay it back in a month and you did not see or hear from him. You know full well you would call him and probably do even worse then what these people are doing. So grow up put your big boy pants on and take care of your obligations. All i hear is the economy and blah blah blah. you borrowed the money now pay the monet

These ### garnished me for almost 2 years and refused to be civil. They harassed me and harassed me. When I tried to negociate they ignored it. They went right to garnishment. They learn your employers name and garnish without any real paperwork or proof of where the money is going. My original lender (I think) was sallie mae or at least handled by Sallie Mae, their owners. Well I was told by a source that worked for a parent company of the school I went ("AI") how to move my loans from Sallie Mae to Income Based. When i did that Pioneer Credit still didn't want to let the loans go even though they were being transfered (essentially credited 100%). These guys are ###. I was bounced supervisor to supervisor once. When I finally got to someone I thought was important I told her the deal and she was rude. I told her it was people like her and her company that make others suicidal. And I hope she remembers that when she hugs her kids at night.

If you are having issues with these ### and your FEDERAL loans are still owned by Sallie Mae, you need to get into IBR. If you need help, I was told to talk to Stephanie Cooper at the Department of Education's Ombudsman's office. She helped me finally fight with them and get the loans OUT of their hands.

My loans are now in forbearance, they're getting bigger but at least now they're not garnishing me and I can live. I plan to dispute these loans as long as I can because the schools are fighting the government due to the fact they were NOT certified to recieve them (the schools lied about placement and other credentials)

Here is how to reach Stephanie Cooper's office at the US Department of Education Ombudsman Office: [protected]

I am struggling with PCR as I type my complaint. First of all this is a 20 yr old debt. The first loan was for 2, 300 for the first semester of my college year in 1991. I went to school part time at night while I continued to work full time. My total loans added up to around $9, 000 for a total of four years [protected]). I never finished schooling because the program folded and I could not afford to quit my job and enroll full time at a different University. I was a single parent who needed to keep her job. I made payments to the Dept of Education for quite a while and then I just could not afford to pay any more out of my paycheck at that time. My loan was turned over to PCR and they contacted me and said I owed over $30, 000 on a $9, 000 loan. How much interest is that and at what percentage rate? They threatened garnishments and did, withholding my Tax returns and did. I began making payments to them and I was told after nine months I would be set up on a new program and my credit status would come out of default and my tax returns would not be intercepted. I have yet to see any paperwork or get a phone call from these people. I know they are scamming people and I have paid back way more than $9, 000 and they still want more. I thought education loans were to be forgiven after 20 years. I have paid my share of this loan back. PCR is not a reputable company. they are very dishonest.

I had my student loans go to PCR and called them to set up pymnts. I was told that I could take part in a recovery program, it sounded great and I was thrilled, I was going to be able to get future student loans and it would be taken off my credit report. I knew my tax refund was going to go onto the acct and they said to wait until it did and then set up the payment program. So yesterday it was credited on the acct and I called to set up my program. I was then told in an incredibly rude manner that now because my balance is 750.00 it is too low to take part in the program and I am S.O.L. I am completely FLOORED...let me get this straight...I have paid too much money towards my debt to get an incentive...does NOT make a bit of sense. They treated me horribly...I cant believe it! It is so stupid...I was specifically told I could do it, and when I gave the name of the woman I talked to before I was told "oh she is no longer with this department." I hate PCR and I hope something horrible happens to those people. It wasnt like I just quit paying my loan...I got cancer my last quarter of school and managed to graduate even through chemo and then I suffered a great deal of side effects from surgery, chemo, and radiation so I couldnt work for a longtime. I was able to do the hardship deferments...but then they ran out. I should NOT be punished for paying too much money! PCR should also have kept to the word of the employee I spoke to previously.

Pioneer Credit Recovery Don't fall for them

Pioneer Credit Recovery claims to be associated with Direct Loans and the US Dept. of Education. They have been harassing me for at least 3 months on old defaulted student loans from 2004. They are claiming they can garnish my wages, or my tax refunds if money isn't handed over immediately. All they seem to be interested in is getting my checking account information so they can enroll me in a 'debt rehabilitation program' where they would automatically pull $97 a month from my checking account every month for a minimum of nine months. It may not seem like a huge amount, but my family and I are low-income, and we currently live on less than $1000 a month.

I want to pay these loans back, but I don't know if they are valid, as all my student loans have been with Great Lakes (who I am currently in hardship deferment with). I haven't been in school since 2005, when I gave birth and became a stay-at-home mom to my almost four year old son.

Calling PCR does no good, as every time I speak with someone, I get a different story and a different attempt to get money from me. I have called Direct Loans AND the US Dept. of Education, both of whom claim not to be able to tell me anything other than my supposed 'loan' is being handled by PCR, and I have to go through them. I tried to go to PCR's website, and it has nothing but an error message and a blank page. And I'm still getting phone calls on a weekly basis, even though I have requested to be removed from the call list while I research the authenticity of these loans.

I got a letter from Pioneer saying I am in default with my student loans. I am paying back my loans through American Education services, not their company. My payments have been in good standing. I get a tax form from the company I pay my loans through. If I am late or in default, American Education services would have contacted me themselves. They have shown that I am in good standing with my total student loan payments every month. Why is this Pioneer company saying I am in default? I am almost paid up in my student loan obligations and my credit report scores are over 740. I have a few years left on paying off my school loans. Even the amount Pioneer says I owe doesn't add up. I smell a bad scam.

If you believe that you are being treated unfairly by ANY Federal agency, contact your Congressman/Congresswoman; and ask them to investigate for you. Pioneer Credit Recovery student loan collection

I was in forbearance on my student loans that were through Sally Mae-some how I was taken out of that and placed with Pioneer--I've never been treated sooo very poorly by someone like that.
I was forced to get a savings account so that my monthly payment could be automatically taken out--and it's an amount I can't live with, but, was forced to do it or ELSE as I was told.
Im willing to make payments, but, not payments that bankrupt me any further than I already am..
I had a baby in April and called to get my payment REDUCED for awhile and was given the steady flow of RUDENESS that i'd gotten before. I was told I should have thought of this before I had my baby--that I should have gotten MEDICAID and that Im defaulting. NO, im calling to GET HELP from the SCAMMERS!

Pioneer credit recovery is every thing you think it is when it comes to ruthless debt collectors. In 3 months time they have completed destroyed any hopes I had of righting my student loan debt and they tacked on ridiculous fees that nearly doubled my original loan amount. Don't believe any of the "employees" of the company on this site who try to change your mind about who they are. Don't trust them. Get your loans paid before they get to them OR when they call you, GIVE THEM HELL!

I defaulted in 11/2008 due to unforeseen circumstances - per the NSLDS site my total amount of all loans total $14, 549.00
Since April 2009 I have paid toward this debt a total $14, 201.97 as of this date I STILL OWE $17, 654.31 of which only $18.00 dollars of this balance is interest and the rest is the principle amount.
Although I have paid FAITHFULLY since April 2009 - I am not eligible for any programs other than the REHAD PROGRAM - if I agree to enter/complete this rehab program then they would be able to provide me with other options that are available.
IF the $14, 201.97 payments were applied toward the PRINCIPLE amount of my LOAN I would not OWE another $17, 654.31 debt.
I made a choice not to join the GOV 10 yr (public service) program BECAUSE I created this debt and wanted to fullfill my obligation to pay back this debt. BOY did I EVER screw myself when asked about the timeframe of paying the $17, 654.31 remaining debt under rehab program will take anothe 15 years per Pioneer REP. BE WISE when making decisions ~ I can't seem to get an accounting / print out to see my debt versions pymts SO be cautious and don't get screwed over like I did (I didn't even get a kissed - go figure)

I have a feeling that the ones posting here that say those who won't pay are lazy, losers, whinners...etc, either work for Pioneer Credit Recovery or went to school on mommy and daddy's money! I am just starting to deal with PCR, and think this is going to be a nightmare! I already am paying out 50% of my income to take care of my children, ...which is MUCH, MUCH MORE important than paying this company extravagant amounts of money, and making my children suffer! Not to mention going to jail for not paying my support responsibilities! I also had a severe accident a year ago and have huge medical bills that have to be paid to secure my health and physical being wald heals! I struggle to work to pay what I can, and REFUSE to let a company make me homeless! If I can't live, then I can't work...then noone gets paid! So, if they cause my court orders not be followed because of their greed and lack of negotiations...I feel sorry for them...NOT! They would deserve going to jail! I can pay only $100 dollars a month...because thats all there is! I agree that there should be more of stern laws governing these collections companies! Make them liable for being inhuman and arrogant!

ignorance cant even begin to describe a person as crass as you. Before you ASSUME that people are dodging their responsibilty get the full story. There is a correct way to Collect Studen loans and Pioneer Credit is NOT DOING IT, Their CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ATROCIOUS, THAT CONSTANTLY CALL EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE MADE ARRANGEMENTS AND YOU NEVER TALK TO THE SAME PERSON TWICE. Their collecters have to be the ghettoest rudest bunch of hood rats working, and trust me you dont get ANYWHERE with ANY OF THEM. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service. And NO IGNARAMOUS, not every ONE DOESNT WANT TO PAY THEIR BILLS, BUT LAST TIME I CHECKED THERE IS A LITTLE THING CALLED NEOGATION, Especially in times like this, hmmm. last time I checked gas was 4 dollars a gallon and we are coming out of a recession, so excuse those of us still trying to get on our feet Donald Trump! you have some nerve.

Buck up and get a real job? Are you kidding? I have my degree, and a real job. One for which the tax payers choose to pay me very little to do. I teach, and make so little, that I have difficulties paying the loans for my education. In order to do this "Real" job, I need a degree. I am being forced to pay so much that I cannot afford to go to the dentist, buy any new clothes, go to the movies, or go out with friends. I stay home every weekend, and have for almost two years. Do not pass judgement without knowing all of the facts. I have had to go off medication that I am required to take for my daily health and well-being. I feel as if I am in debtor's prison. I have never wanted to walk away from my responsibility, but I must be able to live. Please think before showing your ignorance.

You have student loans, so you must have gone to college. Why haven't you used that education to get a real job? Buck up and pay your bills.

I just want to add that the people who works at Pioneer are like monsters with no morals. They have zero sympathies for people with now income. They are rude and they would even suggest that you borrow money to pay off your student loan, even though you already explain to them that you have no money whatsoever and you are on financial hardship. They make you feel like a low life criminal. They have very poor customer service.

Pioneer Credit Recovery fraud and lies

So, I got this call from a company called Pioneer Credit at my workplace (issue number one...). A gentlemen named Mike tried to get me to verify my name, SS, DOB, etc. Then, he wanted to verify I was WORKING. Of course, being that I am at work, I said, you have reached the right person. I did not however, know what the call was about, since I had no clue what was going on. But, I was willing to find out and resolve it. The guy hung up and that was that.

Several hours later, I get the call on my cell phone. My husband answers trying to resolve the issue. Mike REFUSES to talk to him (i understand the reasons why, but once i gave my ok, Mike still refused to talk to him...weird). So, being that I was still working, I said, I don't have much time, what is this regarding? I was given the run around (never actually told why) and asked to verify my SS & DOB. Okay - Mike - I'm not stupid. I don't give that info unless you tell me WHY - which is a NORMAL way to react...Mike didn't get it...

I was like, please call me tomorrow or I can call you at 7:30 when I'm no longern working and I'd be glad to discuss the issue with you. Needless to say, I was hung up on (big surprise).

Several days go by, and I'm not called. I figured they had the wrong person. But, I was wrong. I receive a call at work (from a man whom refuses to identify himself - SURPRISE AGAIN). This person needs to verify my address at work to send a wage garnishment order. My co-worker and I both asked him what the call was regarding and if we could get more details. We were hung up on...Who didn't see that coming?

Two hours go by. Mike calls. I speak with him. He does identify himself, but ANGRY Mike now uses threats. He says, and I quote: 'Do you plan on resolving this issue? (my reply) 'Yes, but please call me after work on my cell phone. I cannot take these calls from work. You cannot call me here. You call me here, I get fired, you get no money.' Mike proceeds to tell me, 'We will take your lack of cooperation as your ok to proceed with the garnishment order.' And (big surprise) he hangs up on me.

So, at this point, I was LIVID.

But, I decided to be smart about it. My husband and I pooled together to reach an agreement with Pioneer Credit. First step, we called and refused to speak to Mike (which, needless to say, he was pissed about) and spoke to a lovely gentlemen Harvey. Harvey was VERY helpful. He made sure we were negotiated with PROPERLY and even apologized for Mike's [censored], being a bully won't get you any dough, behavior.

PIONEER's tactics are not ethical in my opinion. Mike should be fired. But, even though I'm paying something that leaves me broke, at least I know, I'm not getting garnished and embarrassed at work anymore.

P.S. If you're reading this Mike, I'd like your home and cell numbers, so I can randomly call you at inconvenient times to yell at you and hang up rudely. You are not even worth the fart that I'd conjure up to leave on your voicemail to enjoy later...

Eric at Pioneer Credit Recovery contacted people who are not family or friends of mine and gave out personal and confidential information about me. Not only that but he was also harassing and threatening to them and myself.
