I have had an account with pnc bank for almost 3 years. They charge me 36.00 for returning items that try to post to my account. They have deactivated my over draft over 3 years ago and refuse to reinstate it. I have filed a dispute on the same transaction and dropped off proof and they keep making me repay the same thing over and over. Hiring attorney
misleading sales practices
My mortgage was purchased in the secondary market by PNC. About a year after, I received an offer in the mail from PNC stating that I was pre-approved for a HELOC if I was interested. I was interested so I went into a local branch (Lawrenceville GA) and was helped by a gentleman named Jose. I was told that I should open a checking and savings since I would now be making payments on a HELOC through PNC. I was assured that, since my mortgage was with PNC, both accounts would be free of charges and fees. I agreed and deposited $25 in each newly formed account. During the process of obtaining the HELOC, I received notification that I was no longer eligible for the offer that had previously been promised. The application was revoked and I sought out Navy Federal and executed the HELOC through them. About a month ago I received a statement for the PNC checking account that had a charge of $15 deducted from the $25 balance. I tried to call but was put on hold and couldn't wait. I was certain a mistake had been made and that I'd be reimbursed. A couple of days ago, I was passing a branch in Snellville and stopped to rectify the situation. The associate that helped me informed me that the checking account was now at $0. She explained that if was a performance checking account and required a minimum balance. She said there were $15 fees charged monthly after a probationary period but, that since there was only $10 in the account, it was taken instead of the $15 owed. She said there was nothing she could do to reimburse me because "the money was already gone." I closed the savings account and was issued a $25 check.
I feel as if your institution has stolen $25 from me. I was explicitly told that there would never be fees associated with either account since I had a first mortgage with PNC. I believe at worse, I was defrauded and at best, I was intentionally misled. If I am not reimbursed the $25, I will file a complaint with the BBB and access as many blogs as possible to discuss my experience.

account management
PNC has no regard for their customers and no business sense. Here's the latest example: I called earlier this week to see if a $25 fee for not maintaining the minimum balance could be waived. I explained that I called last month for the same reason and that adding money to this checking account would be no problem as my wife has two other accounts, a savings and a checking, with very high balances - well over $130 in total. The fee last month was waived. This month we transferred funds, but found we had been assessed the $25 fee because we made that transfer 12 hours after the required date. I informed the customer service person that we were prepared to close our accounts because of the ridiculous policy of not taking into account the customer's overall value. She assured me that she would share that view with her manager, but was unable to waive the fee because my wife would have to call and give the details needed for account balance verification. My wife just called and found out that PNC was unwilling to waive the fee. "It doesn't matter how much you have in another account, it only matters that you maintain your minimum in THIS account." OK, PNC, you'll get your $25 and lose our accounts.

unauthorized debit card charges
On 1/23/19 my card was declined when I tried to use it at a gas station. I called PNC and was told that someone was trying to make a purchase in Texas. I live in Philadelphia but was traveling to Florida. The customer service rep told me that they would put a hold on my account and I would have to go into a PNC center and get a new debit card. The very next day 1/24/19 I obtained my new card and started my vacation with my family in Florida not thinking anything more about it. I returned home to Philadelphia on 1/28/19. On 1/29/19 my first day back to work, my business account was completely wiped out of approximately 3, 000 and had an additional 1, 000 over drafted. There were 51 - $75.00 transactions from different 7-Eleven's in Texas between 1/25 - 1/29/19. How can this happen when:
1 - I had reported the issue and thought it had been resolved 6 days prior
2 - How do 51 transactions from 7-Eleven totaling $3, 000, out of state, in a matter of 6 days not raise any red flags?!?
Now my customers and business have to suffer because PNC dropped the ball. This is the 7th day of my business account being compromised and I'm still waiting on a resolution. This is absolutely unacceptable!
I want my money back in my account asap!

I was informed my overdraft fees would be returned if I called after I put money into my account. When I called and asked I was told no, it was 127$ in fees I was promised back because of a mistake on the banks behalf.
I was then told to sign up for overdraft protection, since it will prevent those fees since i can basically be billed the service.
I signed up for this service and still got charged again for another overdraft charge yesterday.

overdraft fee
Pnc is charging me an overdraft fee on payments made to my utility company. Example payments made on fri while funds in the bank. By monday after i sent what was left i have 3 overdraft charges one for an atm fee that was use on the 26th but PNC didn't I post it til the 29th when i had no funds in my account. Now i have to pay an over draft fee on that to. I call to spent with someone and the representative tried to explain the process this is not my first bank account and i never experienced anything like this before. And i seeking a lawyer and i know for a fact what my balance was after my payment but my transaction statement right now doesn't reflect that
the posting of several od fees!
I am going through what is probably the hardest time of my life and I can not continue to be ROBBED! I k ow I have not been with the company long but the excessiveness of these fees are really making me consider other banks. I see that I have the funds, but turns out there pending, so If any overdrafts are made, Im hit for every single payment previously ran,. I use my pin so I feel 1 day is ample enough time for the payment to post. The amount of time It takes for a transaction to go through is completely ridiculous. Of course I dont want to acquire hundreds of dollars of OD charges especially for payments that I submitted 2 or 3 days prior. I need help and no one seems to understand. Please help with these fees. My account will be brought current tonight at 10 but I wont even have enough money to feed my daughter without the funds being ripped away from me constantly.
does not value customers
I've had an account for 32 years. Recently had fees applied I disagreed with and called expecting assistance. Spoke with two very rude reps, so called my branch. In both cases I was told I'd get a call back regarding my complaint. That was 5 days ago.
Description:
I made 7 or so purchases each less than $3 after confirming my bank balance. The following day I saw a bill payment that legitimately put my account in overdraft, but it was listed between the several small purchases. PNC then added $36 overdraft fees to 2 of the $3 transactions.
I will not stay with a bank willing to lose a long term customer due to $72 false fees.
pnc points visa credit card
Terrible customer service! Do not recommend pnc credit cards!
I have been a pnc customer for over ten years (checking with $4.5k monthly in direct deposits & 40-50 monthly debit card transactions). A year and a half ago, I acquired a pnc points visa credit card linked to my checking account with auto monthly payments.
For an unknown reason, the auto payments failed the past two months and I was not notified. Both incidents, pnc charged a $35 past due fee. Immediately after noticing the past due fees, I contacted pnc customer service which removed the initial past due fee. I again set-up the auto payments feature with customer service. However, pnc refused to waive the second $35 past due fee. It took two weeks of "research" by pnc's escalation team to notify me of their negative decision.
I have since opened two new checking accounts (td and m&t banks which offered cash bonus promotions of $400) and will close all pnc accounts resulting from pnc's short sighted refusal to waive a $35 fee.
I have posted the above review on all credit card review sites.
customers service
I am pnc customer and their service was incredibly poor. I felt very disrespected and the point I was trying get across was I made a payment but they added another to card to my account without my knowledge and when I went to make a payment I thought it was my pnc account but it was the other one I didn't even know was on there. They have just been very rude and not understanding. I am leaving this bank
poor customer experience
I am a customer for over 12 years with PNC Bank. I spoke to a representative on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, and them reverse two (2) overdraft fees, due to a transaction which went in early from a merchant. I understand that there is no obligation to reverse fees unless there is an error on their behalf. The representative stated that it is their policy to reverse fees only if you have not had one in the last 12 months. When the representative checked, I had not had one since October 2017, which is 11 months ago. I then asked could I speak to a supervisor. The representative put me on hold, then came back and said that there was not a supervisor available, however one would contact me within 24 - 48 hours. I said fine, and gave my cell phone number to be reached. I did not get a phone call from a supervisor for three (3) days.
On Friday, September 28, 2018, I received a phone call from a Nancy Haas, who stated that she is a supervisor, and she told me the exact thing that the representative told me. What was the purpose of her call? What added Customer Experience did this supervisor provide? She asked me did I have a case#, which I was never provided: (Case# [protected]). The supervisor was condescending with me concerning the situation that I was dealing with concerning the one transaction, which caused (two) Overdraft fees. I would have been okay if she would have at least given me one, however when she spoke to me, it felt like as if she wanted to be discriminative against me in her tone and the way that she spoke.
I blatantly asked her, if she had the ability to override the overdraft fee decision, and she said "No". I know that this is a lie, and she lied to me right on the phone.
auto loan
I applied for an auto loan extension and was told I would be approved. It was denied because the rep didn't put a back to work date. The second rep put the date in and sent it back. I made several calls and kept being told they were backed up. No one would give me a supervisor. Today 9/10 I call and confirm that the extension was approved on 08/30/18. No letter generated causing it not to be applied to my account. Went into a branch to have the letter faxed. There is no letter according to collection department and c-cat dept. I should have not had to take the first hit on my credit because I initiated the process before I was 30 days late and the ball was dropped now 30 days later this is not resolved. I was transferred to a voicemail after repeatedly asking for a supervisor. Previous calls was also denied a supervisor.
I should not have to have my credit affected not once but twice because they did not do their job.

poor customer service & lack of communication
I have been a PNC customer for over 8 years and have over $50k in their bank. I have a credit card that was on autopay to pay the balance in full every month. Back in April PNC stopped the autopay but did not contact me (by mail, email, text nor phone) to inform me it was stopped. I made had one purchase for $44 in May which was the only purchase in the last 5 months. Because I did not know the autopay was stopped, the balance was not paid. The first week of August, I received a call from the collections department; I explained that I did not know that PNC had stopped the autopay. They acknowleged not contacting me about stopping the autopay and removed the late fees while I also made a payment in full. However, they also reported a late payment to Experian which brought my 837 credit rating down 80 points.
On 8/13/18 I called PNC to discuss getting my credit rating corrected and discovered PNC had only refunded 1 month of late fees, not the 2 months they promised. The representative, Heather, said she would refund the remaining fees because they neglected to contact me regarding the autopay being stopped. But, Heather said they could not help with the credit score even though they were the ones that reported it to Experian AND acknowledged they did not inform me of stopping the autopay. I was upset that they could not help me contact Experian to explain the error and was eventually put in touch with a Senior Financial Consultant, Antonio Massa, who came across as very condescending and showed no empathy nor concern towards my issues. He also seemed to lack training for his position becuase when I asked him to verify that the 2nd late fee was refunded becuase I could not see it on the website, he said it was not and that only the first one had been refunded. Fortunately I am persistent and continued to ask him to check again and see if the 2nd refund had processed only for him to tell me no. After several more requests, he checked and said the 2nd refund was processing and would show up on the website in approxiamately 24 hours. I was very upset that I had to ask him multiple times to look for the transaction and each time was told it was not there, only to find out he failed to see it each time; the refund had been requested and he missed it every time. It seems that a Senior associate should be able to provide accurate information the first time a customer asks, this would also alleviate great frustration for the customer.
Mr. Massa was borderline rude and even hung up on me when I asked him for the address to file a complaint. Mr. Massa should not be in a customer facing position because of his poor treatment in addressing customer issues. Based on Mr. Massa's inability to give accurate account information and lack of concern towards helping me, I closed my account and am going to pursue moving my money to another institution - one that truly cares for their customers.
