I wasn’t keeping up with the development of Pocket City 2 but I was a long time fan and advocate of Pocket City. I’m absolutely floored with what they brought with PC 2.
Pocket City was the perfect mobile City builder. One time payment I happily paid for because that game brought me hours of enjoyment.
That being said, I was not prepared with what has been delivered with the second iteration. I’m a few hours in and this new game keeps delivering. This is a massive achievement in development and new features keep surprising me for such a small mobile friendly game.
Thank you team for this experience and I’m looking forward to my continued enjoyment of it.
Don’t miss out on this classic
This game is in depth and wildly addictive. I have played games for over 30 years and I have never liked a single mobile game I have played. In a world of microtransactions and paywalls this game is truly a breath of fresh air. Everything is unlocked via gameplay in an ode to the golden era of gaming. I have played hours already and have just scratched the surface of all the content available. I give many thanks to the developer for this gem of a game and I have already got my money’s worth and would have paid more now that I know how good it truly is. If you like sim builders, don’t hesitate in buying this game and supporting a developer that clearly understand what made games so great in the past.
Fun But Lacks Challenge
This is certainly one of the best city builders on iOS. The first few hours are great fun - good graphics, smooth gameplay, easy to use UI - but then you realize there isn’t much challenge to the game. It’s absurdly easy to make money, the location of your zones doesn’t have much effect (residential zones don’t have a penalty for being near industry), bad traffic doesn’t have consequences, etc. Increasing the difficulty only increases the time between unlocks, not the difficulty in city management.
The free roam and mini games are great features, but don’t make up for the game’s lack of challenge as a city builder. Pickup on sale for a few hours of fun, but don’t expect anything close to a SimCity 4 level of city simulation.
A perfect city building game
A lovely game. The ability to explore and the mini games based around that aspect alone make this game worth it. A beautiful city building system that doesn't ignore the citizens and gives you things to do while your city generates income. I am not a god, I am a member of my own community. As soon as I found out that you can not only shop for food, you can also ADOPT ANIMALS to bring to your home and have follow you around, I was sold on this game. Definitely worth the money. That said, there is work to be done. The audio quality is poor. It was bad enough that I've turned it off entirely. The voice audio of citizens yippee-ing gets old very fast. I would love the option to turn off the citizens voices but keep the ambience and music.
So much better than Pocket City but one thing
first I have to say I loved pocket city the first one it was great I thought it was worth the money and this is just an elevated version of that one of the best city builder games in the App Store. I only have a few issues with it and I say this with Grace just because I understand loading all of this might take a lot and after a few bug fixes it’ll be up and running in a few months. But in the last game when you interacted with the citizens or interrupted a crime you could clearly see where the crime is but it is difficult to find it in this version if that makes sense. Also after playing this game for about 45 minutes I’ve had to restart it at least a few times so I do think it’s worth the money if it gets updated a few more times overall great job.
Best city builder on iOS ever
I was a huge fan of the first Pocket City and when I saw Pocket City 2 came out, it was an immediate no-hesitation purchase for me.
If you’ve played the first, it’s the same core gameplay but expanded upon, big time. It’s 3D, the city can be directly interacted with by your player character, the research tree is shockingly complex but cohesive, there’s lots of events, minigames and whatnot, there’s even some “life sim” sprinkled in with the ability to buy and furnish a house, build relationships with characters in exchange for unlockables, etc. You can explore the entire city personally, engage in random encounters, enter any building, you can buy from a kid’s lemonade stand to gain temporary perks. Overall the game just feels very well put together and thought-out.
Great sequel, amazing city builder
This is the best mobile city builder game I’ve ever played. A great game to just chill for a little bit, and relax, and I don’t have to watch a single ad to unlock anything, or speed things up. I love that I have quests, so many different buildings and categories, the events and mini game. Most of all, I love how I can free roam the city. That feature is so different from all the other city builders I’ve played. This is a game made for people who just want to play a game.
My only criticism is when building little things like traffic lights, bus stops, rail stations or even specific buildings like banks, hotels, and police/fire stations, I could see where all the other ones like it that I have already built so I can better plan my city.
Great game, great developer, well worth the price.
Just amazing!
Works offline, City building, Leveling, Quests, go into your city as Mayor, free roam your city! mini games, have a house, pet, decorate your house, get resources by mining, wood chopping, fishing, smashing boxes with hammer, snag I mean borrow a car, vehicles have radio stations. Do mini side stuff like shooing away raccoons, finding criminals, building relation ships to get gifts. Watch disasters from a new point of view it's epic! Minor sadness, can't ride any of the rides or rides in the amusement park dude that was pricy & I can't interact at all there .. The house is one room no matter which size house u buy.. Houses don't look very different no matter where u stick em. Do wish for more variety of building stuffs but otherwise this is a 5$ 5 star game & hope to see new content maybe in the future.
Worthy to be a sequel. you can feel the love the devs poured into this game
I played the first game years ago, and it was amazing. Very fun, no in-app purchases being shoved down my throat, and honestly you could tell it was made by a dev team that actually loved their game and wanted to give players a worthy product.
This sequel does not disappoint, and does a great job at expanding upon the first game. You can now roam around your city, walk into stores, meet people, “borrow vehicles” (almost like GTA) and take them on a joy ride. SO FUN!
But, not only that, they actually expanded on so much more. The research tab is amazing, the UI is incredible for a game this new, and everything about the game just screams bigger and better.
What a sequel, what a dev team, and what a game. 5 out of 5 stars, and I heavily recommend this game to anybody who ever enjoyed any city builder game before.
If you liked Pocket city 1 . PC2 is better in every way 100x
It baffles me how they can make pocket city better . It is better in every way , stats menus , management , graphics , complexity and the new first person view is a nice addition . I really can’t praise this game enough . There are some bugs and little kinks need squashing but the Devloper supported and still support pocket city 1 so this will be no different for sure .
Some suggestion:
- make seeing water and electricity in heat map filter because now there is no way to see electricity and water without clicking on one of these building
- there is no way showing how much my energy output now vs how much I’m using . Please make it visible
- same as previous point but for water
- same as previous point but for sewage
- we need more info to know how much I need to keep for my city and what to sell in the shipping dock
- we need to know how much remaining of what I borrowed from the bank vs how much I already payed
Great game, would be better with better UI
Love it, as far as city building sims this game is crazy fun and innovative. I love the new free roam aspect, and a coop town sounds too much fun. Some things I think need to be in the game:
Shipping details, It should tell me somewhere how many units I am shipping, and how many units I am producing. And it should be in a screen I can pull up past transactions. I cant tell if I am making more consumer goods than I am shipping so that would be uber helpful.
Road building needs to be revamped, when you first press the initial spot, you are unable to move it or edit that spot without exiting out and going through the menus again. I think I should stay in the road building menu until I exit, instead of it being automatic after placing roads. That or make it so I can branch a road off in three+ directions, instead of being forced to build two roads that connect for an intersection.
Overall a great game, and a great sequel to Pocket city.
A great improvement over the first one!
This is a solid upgrade to the first game, Pocket City. Charming, cute, and full of surprises and no in-app purchases. This is worth the price.
Highly recommended for fans of Sim City or Cities: Skylines.
The street level detail is very fun and cute, and it’s really cool to deploy something like a farmer’s market or block party, see people dancing around and then actually join them yourself. The little warehouse, park, or hotel you just placed can be visited and explored! The explore mode controls are a little awkward with the camera, and I think it’s because the dev gives you so much freedom to walk around and see your literal city up close.
I feel like the developer is really building up to an epic game, and I want to encourage them to keep exploring these concepts and keep adding depth. Add more personalities and voices to the relationships, flesh out the explore mode even more, tighten up the explore controls and this series can continue to grow!
Incredible but needs some fixes
First of all, I’m impressed with the amount of content. The first game was super fun, but got a little repetitive after awhile. This sequel is GREAT and definitely worth the five dollars. However, since the game is extremely new, it has some fixes that needs to be addressed. The helicopter at the fire station has a bug where it’ll continually put out a fire that doesn’t exist on the original building to set fire. When the original building breaks, the helicopter will try to put out a nonexistent fire. Another bug I experienced is whenever time is sped up, helicopters fly extra slow. Not sure if any of this is accidental or intentional (my guess is accidental) but it makes putting out fires a hassle. One last comment is when purchasing more land, it’s pretty expensive and increases in increments of $10,000 I believe? In the first pocket city it went up by $5,000. Now that’s all based off of memory, so I apologize if I’m incorrect. Otherwise, this game is very solid and I highly recommend it. Love to see it!
Great city builder but has room for improvement
I'm enjoying this game a lot, my wife who doesn't game much hasnt been able to put it down. I've really like the ability to co-op build a city.
1)However, we've noticed that trying to do this on any other regional city (that isn't the main center one) causes the joiner to be stuck in a blue screen.
2) The person who joins in the co-op is unable to participate in events, sell using the dock(or train station), can't join free-roam, and worst off, can't participate in mini games. Being able to do minigames competitive or cooperatively would really benefit the co-op mode.
3) placing roads is really finicky. Occasionally when drawing a line, a loop is accidentally made and frequently it gets so chaotic by trying to undo that I have to just cancel and go through the menus to try again. You also can't change where the first placed road tile is, this means that if you misclick the initial placement you have to cancel and go through the menus again. Menu navigation itself is easy enough, however, it is tedious and cumbersome to have to repeat the same action multiple times to get a desired result.
I don't want to only complain about the game, it's genuinely fun and I love that it's a stepping stone for non-gamers into this genre. The free roam also helps with that.
The Greatest Sequel to ever Release!
Pocket City 2 is absolutely phenomenal! If you’ve ever had the pleasure of playing the original Pocket City, then you’ll know that it was limited in some features and not limited enough in other features. But now, with Pocket City 2: everything changes. The same intuitive user interface is back with the same trusty zones from the original game. But this time, such zones are improved with far better 3D graphics, as well as the ability to free roam your city as Mayor, allowing you to enjoy the city view firsthand, as opposed to from the view of an omnipotent city builder. And to encourage this fabulous free roam feature, parts of this sequel include challenges and quests that incorporate going into free roam to accomplish them. But you won’t need quests and challenges to encourage you to go into free roam because it is a simply fantastic experience. Pocket City 2 also introduces plenty of other new and exciting features that revolve around the new city views, such as new quests that incorporate some of the many vehicles that your character can enjoy while in free roam mode. You can also play in multiplayer mode with friends and family being able to help you build the greatest city possible. In addition to being a shockingly glorious sequel to the original Pocket City, this version of Pocket City, as well as the original, both respect your privacy, collecting no personally identifying information so that your gaming experience won’t be hindered by a hidden goal of tracking you for notorious purposes. Overall, Pocket City 2 is the sequel that shows the original Pocket City who is boss by making the game so enjoyable you can easily spend hours upon hours exploring all of the new features, all while assembling the best possible Pocket City.
Love the game- just pointing out bugs
I’ve tried several times to make sure my traffic routes are working but somehow the trains get stopped, the cars stay still, and there’s no way of moving them or going around them. They seem broken somehow. I’ll add additional areas to travel or add on the streets, but they eventually pause no matter what so I’m not sure why? I’ve tried just a straight line through the city, as well as circling back so its all connected. I’ll put several modes of transportation around everywhere in the city as well. Sometimes even when it looks like the traffic is stopped everywhere for no reason.. it’ll give me a high rating for traffic!? Thinking maybe because it was my first city, I just started a new city in easy mode and it’s very very early on in the game with a small population- I put up stop lights everywhere, but they’re stopped on top of each other randomly. It’s like a group of 10 cars are just sitting there for no reason, not even actual traffic reasons.
Also traffic related… The waste management stays at one location nonstop to take trash a lot of the time. Sometimes they aren’t even doing anything but sitting in the street not moving at all. Then no traffic can or will move around them. There has to be a bug with that.
Other issue: After starting a new region, my past achievements are unlocked in the new region but im constantly being told they added said achievement throughout the new land area when they’ve already been there. It gets a little annoying for the pop up’s to keep coming up without nothing new. Am doing something wrong here? I started on the easy mode but still isn’t that something that can be fixed?
PS.. Even despite those annoyances I love the game so I’m hoping you all fix that and other bugs people mention! I keep playing regardless and hope to see more improvements!
Amazing city building game I’ve played yet! I’m addicted!
This game is genuinely so much fun. I needed to edit my last review since I’ve played it more and can give better feedback. Sometimes I get kicked out of a game when it’s running a full city. Can get a bit laggy but I usually jump right into it and it does a pretty good job at auto saving. I thought this would be a more challenging game but I was wrong! After playing it for sometime it’s too easy now. I still love this game regardless, but hope devs will update with newer as well. Maybe making it slightly more challenging. Also the need to constantly search for minerals when they deplete and rebuilding the ore mines becomes a bit excessive! I however do love you can replant trees to harvest and create consumer goods! I definitely hope to see more added features to this game in the future. The overall game in city mode is fun! My big fingers from out of zoom tends to have issues placing property in the correct areas I want them in, so I tend to have to zoom in a little bit. Love the function how industries, residential, and commercial zones tie in together. You can’t have one without the other! The factories which create consumer goods from wood, if you have a ton of green houses, you have and endless supply of wild tree saplings to plant for more. I just wish there was an auto-plant mode! The free roam is amazing! I hope more detail can be added to this feature also as time comes. You can walk into stores and buy houses, etc. it would be cool if a system was set up where you can buy commercial zones with a different set of money for your characters person. Like investing in real estate you build from city mode and earning money off those real estate investments. I think the city should have its money and the mayor (you) should have their own money that’s spent only in free roam from profit made off real estate bought. Just thoughts for the devs as I absolutely am addicted to this game and will continue to play and support it!
Best Sim City Game Ever!
Not only is this the perfect City Builder game but it’s so interactive! You can actually place your character in the city and walk around or drive around in the vehicles you earn from building relationships. It’s so cool to see events and disasters from within the city, like The Sims (my favorite game). There are soooooo many different elements to this game that you will never be bored because there’s always something you can do: Buy Furniture and decorate your home, Play mini games, Harvest resources with your tools, Complete quests, Start a new city, Adopt a pet, Roam Freely around the city and of course Build & Manage your city. One of my favorite things about this game is that it doesn’t cost to move or demolish buildings so I can actually make my city look nice & pretty! :) I never played the first game so I don’t know what all was added/taken away but this game is super impressive! The game is definitely worth the $5 and there aren’t any annoying in app purchases. The buildings build instantly so you can literally play for hours if you wanted. The only other aspect I would want to see is like a Love/family aspect, maybe be able to take Citizens or City Officials on dates, become a couple, move-in together, get married, start a family, etc. Also, I would like to see some Girly/Fashionable Clothes as the wardrobe is very basic. It’d be nice to see some skirts/dresses and heels. Lastly, I would like to see a guide on certain things: It took me awhile to figure out how the rails worked and I still haven’t figured out how to place the ski resort- it won’t place on any of the 4 mountain types. There are a few bugs with the games like people walking around on fire and not being able to tap the build and stat buttons sometimes (having to exit game and restart) but they are so minor, I don’t think it’s a big deal at all. Like the NPCs say, “Take My Money!” Lol GREAT GAME! If you love Sim City type games, you should definitely try this one!
Pocket City 2 Complaints 10
Great game but crashes on iPad constantly
This is a really fun game to play, but you have to restart the app every 10 to 15 minutes when it crashes.
Really wish I didn’t have to leave this
The app has SOO much potential, but the app crashes and the inconsistency of the save log I have to put it at a 1, it’s almost unplayable. I really hope the developers fix the bugs
Not good for old equip
Because of the iOS 16.5 is not so good on the iPhone 12, that's so hot when play the game, so, I'm not sure any iphone 12 is the same question, and the other issues the CPU operate so slow, I really hope fix the issues, or I wanna refund.

Fun game, crashes *continuously* once city gets good
iPad Pro: Once the city starts to get filled-in the crashes become increasingly frequent until it becomes…unplayable. Long wait to open the app and then it immediately crashes. Lots of advanced activities I’d like to try but I’ll never get to see them.
Fun but frustrating bugs
I have been playing the game for several days now. It’s great fun. Problem is…it freezes every 7-10 minutes. Each freeze lasts a couple of minutes if you don’t force quit. Half of these freezes result in complete crash. The other half resumes normally. Unfortunately basic problems like this really sabotage the overall experience.
Game will constantly crash
This game will constantly crash on you, especially the higher in level you get. I’m at level 80 with my city and I get about 1 minute or less if game play before it crashes, continually. I emailed the developer and it was recommended to close all other apps when playing, it made no difference. I see a lot of other reviews with the same problem. DO NOT BUT THIS GAME, unless you enjoy being constantly frustrated.
Constant crashfest
Literally unplayable, crashes every minute. A shame, loved the first. Crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash……..
Overcomplicated Sequel
Loved the first game, it was pretty straight forward and relaxing. This one, like too many games these days, adds on so many layers of gameplay that it feels overwhelming. Not only are there all new city management mechanics to balance, like sewage & trash disposal, but now there’s a third person mode where you have to run around as the mayor doing quests that range from ride share driving to finding loot chests.
Even on easy, cash takes forever to accumulate, which is part of the design to drive you into the third person mode to get cash from quests & events. Will be going back to playing the original Pocket City.
Love the app and update but
On expert mode, you build and then bust. Sewage management goes to zero (unexplained) and is unrecoverable. No action you take corrects it. I’ll wait until this bug is fixed and know somewhere down the road I’ll enjoy this awesome update. V2 can be awesome.

Monotonous Tasks! Not as good as first one
Loved Builder City and bought this without even thinking and now regret it! I want to build a city! I don’t want to have to zoom in and roam the city to find 3 raccoons that are a problem, or constantly deal with road repairs! What’s wrong with you people? Did you run out of ideas, can’t improve the graphics so you decide to make the tasks and game play more monotonous? What a poor follow up to a great potential of a game…..waste of money, DELETE!
