Went to Q & M Jurong West St 51 for a consultation regarding a painful tooth. The dentist conducted an X-ray and mentioned a slight crack in the tooth. The suggested options were a crown or a root canal, and I opted for the crown. The dentist proceeded to create a temporary crown and fitted it onto the tooth. However, on the same night, the temporary crown fell out. I returned to the dentist for repairs, and over the next few days, it continued to fall out multiple times, requiring AT LEAST four additional visits for fixing. Even after these adjustments, the tooth remained sensitive, causing discomfort when consuming even warm water and making it impossible to test or bite on the tooth.
After a frustrating two months wait, the permanent crown was finally placed, with the hope that the pain will be eliminated. Unfortunately, the initial pain persisted, leaving the issue unresolved. I then decided to explore the option of a root canal, as suggested by the dentist during the initial consultation.
Today, I visited a Q & M specialist at IMM refer by Q & M dentist for the root canal treatment, and to my surprise, the X-ray showed no evidence of a crack (this was confirmed by the specialist), and the root was confirmed to be alive and healthy. This revelation left me questioning the accuracy of the initial diagnosis that indicated a crack in the tooth.
I opted for the crown, believing it would safeguard my tooth from further cracking and potentially alleviate the pain. However, it now appears that the crown may not have been necessary all along. The entire ordeal has resulted in a significant financial burden, with expenses incurred for consultations, X-rays, temporary and permanent crowns, multiple visits for adjustments, and specialist consultation fees. Despite the substantial investment, the underlying issue remains UNIDENTIFIED and UNRESOLVED, leading to a sense of frustration and disappointment with the services provided by Q&M. How is it possible that neither of the professionals could identify the root cause of the pain in my tooth and guiding me towards a procedure that ultimately proved to be unhelpful.
