21 September 2023 15:04 hours I had appointment with dental practitioner, Mr Ng, at Serangoon Central Blk 264 #01-235.
I had 50% filling done on my upper right tooth at Serangoon Central Blk 264 in year 2019 by another dentist. I was advised to go back for crowning or root canal for the same tooth in case the filling failed.
I did not return thereafter due to covid. 21 September 2023 was my first visit back the clinic to check on the same tooth as it sometimes gave me pain when biting food. Mr Ng asked me what he could do for me so I related about that tooth, the occasional pain and filling done in year 2019.
The verbal communication with Mr Ng was full of rebuttal, for examples :
1) When I related to him about my filling done in 2019, he said it was 4 years ago. There was no need to be so sarcastic to insinuate that I took so many years to come back for check up.
2) To make sure he knew which tooth I was referring to, I asked him to refer to my dental history with Q&M which I could see he could retrieve from his computer, he said he wanted to hear from me.
After lying down on the recliner chair, I told him he bombarded everything I said, I would let him win and I lose. Thereafter, he said he did not want to do any check up for me, I was okay with it since he clearly had attitude problem which I did not see in his other colleagues previously. He also agreed that I could lodge complaint about him to Q&M.
He may have been annoyed with me from our verbal exchanges but in service line, please do not treat your customers this way.
Kindly let me know if this matter is worth bringing up to Singapore Dental Council to avoid similar occurrence from happening.
Desired outcome: Stop treating customers / patients this way.
