I rented from Redbox last week. I originally attempted to use another movie rental machine at my local grocery store, but it got messed up when it was retrieving my movie, so I decided to try Redbox. I had to search for a location that had a working one, then found out the one that I ended up using didn't have the movie I wanted. It of course was available at the location I first tried, but that Redbox was out of order. I attempted to take the movie back the next day. The Redbox at Walmart and 2 different Walgreens locations were either not accessable, not working or wouldn't accept my return. So, I had to pay for another night on a movie I was trying to return. I attempted to call their toll-free number this morning and sat on hold for 10 minutes. I then attempted to email them, but kept getting an error and it wouldn't send my email. Does anyone else have problems like this? I think I will discontinue my use of Redbox and go back to MovieCube.

Redbox is new in our area (Panama City, FL) and is the only "boxed" dvd service here. I have 2 machines within 1.5 miles of my house. One at Winn Dixie supermarket and one at the Walmart. Both of them are broken at the moment. I tried to rent a movie at the Winn Dixie location early last week and the card reader was not working. I sent an email to Redbox to let them know and got a reply stating it would be fixed. 4 or 5 days later I went online and it allowed me to reserve a movie so I assumed it was working. When I arrived at the store to pick up the movie, someone else was already there trying to get the card reader to work to no avail. I tried and no luck for me either. I love the price on the Redbox movies and will continue to use them since I have no choice but the quality control on their machine production is rotten.
I returned a movie to the local redbox, but it never registered and I got a $27 charge for "keeping" the video. I called and emailed customer service and they asked a bunch of questions which I had answered about 3 times at that point, then sent an email saying they'll investigate the physical box and get back in 10-15 days... that was almost 3 months ago. I frankly forgot, because I don't sit and wait for this stuff, but I just sent another email about this matter. Another time, my wife tried to return a video for me, and the machine was down for 3 days. I got charged $7, and even after calling, they never returned the fee. I thought this was a great alternative to Blockbuster but not if I keep getting ripped off. I've lost more with Redbox than I ever did with Blockbuster's late fees. Poor customer service, bad hardware ... They get an F.
Same problem with full machines. I'm now on day three of my rental after having tried 7 machines. I might just have to buy the DVD. I can't go out every evening and drive all over town trying to find a machine that isn't full. They screwed me good.
I tried to return a movie it keeps saying error and won't take it also the blue ray disc wouldn't work
Today I had the rebox full problems in Chicago downtown office, the company should take care the box twice a day in the highly crowded area
