I called Delmarva and sent an email to inquire about a payment that was sent overnight to them on November 21st on my behalf. And why it has not been posted to my account yet. The representatives on the phone were rude and one of them hung up on me when I ask for a supervisor to assist me. I have not received a response through email yet about my complaint. And I am wondering what they are doing with my payment that they can not post it to may account.
Claimed loss: $1700
Desired outcome: I would like the payment they received on my behalf to be posted to my account

Delmarva replaced a broken gas meter in June of 2023. They didn't update the system to reflect the meter replacement. I was then sent a bill for $15,184.37. What is going on with Delmarva? I pay my bill, and they apply to another customer account. A Strange charge just appears on my (paid in full) electric bill and no supervisor ever calls you back to discuss it.They install a smart meter on my phone and my electric bill goes sky high every month. Me and my son live in a small 2 bedroom Apt and before they installed a smart meter by their suggestion, my bill has doubled every month. We only use the AC in the month of August and that’s only when there’s a heat warning in effect. We hardly use the heater in the winter time because we apply plastic to the windows which helps with heating. SHAME ON YOU DELMARVA, your stealing from your customers!

Since the Installation of my "SMART METER" in January, My utility bill has went through the roof. Sometimes double, sometimes triple. This month was 5 times more than last year. The only thing different between this year & last is we have ALL ENERGY EFFICIENT BULBs now & we Installed a ENERGY EFFICIENT NEW ROOF. Both things should cause the electric to go down...It was 5 times more than last year after the roof & bulbs were installed. We keep the house closed up and the shades drawn. We have cut back on energy useage. I BELIEVE THE METER IS FAULTY! What other reason could there be. I called the company and they said it is not possible for the meter to be faulty...WHat world do they live in? From the moment it was installed I could tell there was something wrong. Delmarva power is the biggest rip off ever. Do you know why? Because they can and that's all the answer they need. It's a shame what they put families through and the prices they make them pay!
This company is a rip off. I'm paying too much since the smart meter was put on. They gave me a $40 credit to raise my bill by hundreds of dollars. They are very unethical charging me $300 dollars for new service at my new address telling me its due to me paying my bill a day or two late 3 times in the prior 3 years. Are they kidding me? They wouldn't put my service on until I paid that money. I'm so sick of this ruthless company overcharging and giving me a hard time to credit my money after holding on to it for over a year and half. Why the monopoly in De?
I HATE DELMARVA!
I use Delmarva power and absolutely hate that company. They are unethical charging customers $500 dollars for new service without telling them if they deem necessary. They can also charge you $500 additional every year if don't pay the $500 in question. Call the utility commissioner and complain; [protected]
Several years ago I opted out of the smart meter program with Delmarva Power on my property, I agreed to pay the setup fee in addition to the monthly service charge of $17.00. On the evening of 4/13/2015 between the hours of 7:30 PM and 8:00PM Delmarva Power took it upon themselves to trespass on my property with no prior notification, and without my permission and replaced the analog meter with a so called “smart meter”. My property is well posted so there is no excuse for their invasion of my privacy. I have several reasons why I do not want their smart meter which include the fact that I currently have one family member with cancer and another with a heart problem and wish not to have them exposed to the radio waves associated with the meter. In addition I see no reason why Delmarva Power needs to know what time I turn off the lights and go to bed, nor when I wake up and turn them on. They have no reason to know when I am home or when I am not, all of which can be deciphered by the data collected by the meter. There is no excuse for this, a public utility is provided monopoly status so as to serve the public not there to be served by the public. The bottom line is that I want this meter removed immediately! I have paid for the right not to have this apparatus on the side of my home and I expect my rights to be respected. Having Delmarva sneak in one of their meters is unacceptable and shows what a despicable organization they are.
I too have huge issue with this SMART METER that Delmarva Power has installed. There was a waiver that you could fill out and return before the meters began to be installed, however this waiver was not mailed to each customer and was very hard to come by. Most customer didn't even know it existed. Seems to me that DP should have been required to send one to each customer. Customers that had earlier declined these meters are now having service men come to their residence and threaten a monthly penalty if the meters are not installed! I, like a fool, didn't fill it out this form, believing that I could count on an honest meter. I know that DP has raised rates slightly but this doesn't explain the huge jump in bills. I do not have a single family member in the area that isn't wondering about the integrity of DP and these so called Smart Meters. I have been told that you can choose to have it removed but then DP will charge you a monthly fee, of course they will. I hope that people in the area post and share this so that we can get enough people rallied cause the Public Service Commission to investigate.I ran a single energy efficient electric heater this winter. This one heater didn't run continuously, I ran it periodically. One heater in my entire home. My bedroom was freezing but guess what? That one heater doubled the bill I had last summer while running 2 8, 000 btu window air conditioners non-stop. I only use one light at a time, and run a tv. I have energy efficient appliances, all brand new, and use energy efficient bulbs.I live in a single mobile home. How is it with this usage I was paying 200.00 a month? You tell me, I believe these meters are rigged!
