THIEFS!!
My daughter went to purchase a car at Kennedis In Collinsville IL. She wanted to put $800.00 down on a certain car. They told her she would need $1500.00 for the down payment. She came back the following week and gave them the $1500 down and picked up the car. The car had MULTIPLE things wrong with it. She had the car for almost one month and made several complaints about repairs it needed. EVERY thing that she asked about of coruse was not going to be covered by their ### warranty.
She went to the dealer and paid her first month payment in cash on a Thursday. They came and repo'ed the car Saturday morning. When we asked them why--they stated there was a mistake and the down payment was more than she had put down and she would need to bring them $1000 in 21 days or loose her car.. $750 additional on the DP and $250 repo fee.. She will loose the car and I may end up with a felony before it's all said and done...
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Scam/Fraud
My son bought a 1998 Grand AM GT from the Kennedi Auto Sales in Collinsville Illinois. After putting $800.00 down, he took it home and parked it until he could get insurance on it. The next time he drove it, I was behind him and noticed a serious "dogtracking" and a lean to the right rear tire. We took said car to Midas, where they found about $5000.00 dollars in necessary repairs, including a bent frame, bent rear axle and a spot weld that re-attached the end of said axle to the car. We returned to Kennedi, and pointed all this out the weasel that runs the place. He seemed completely un-concerned that he had sold an unsafe car and violated the Federal Trade Commissions Used Car Rule by failing to provide a Buyer's Guide at the time of the sale. Do your research people! If any of this applies to you, especially the Buyer's Guide detail, you DO have legal recourse! We are speaking with an attorney to recover his money and have no interest in ever purchasing another car from them in the future. Another thing to remember, if a Buyer's Guide was not provided at the time of the sale indicating that the vehicle was sold as-is, there is an implied warranty law in the State Of Illinois!
They sold me a LEMON
On February 11, 2013 I purchased a 2005 Dodge Neon from the Belleville location. The salesman James G., deceived me into believing the car was in excellent condition. Right after signing the contract, I ended up putting over $300 in repair costs. One of the repairs was him offering to fix car with no labor cost, but charged me $50 for the part. Effective...

Purchased an 02 Dodge Diesel on Saturday, February 16, 2013, and discovered on Friday, February 22, 2013 that the injector pump is bad. Contacted James G. (son-in-law of owner) and notified him of the problem asking if the problem would be covered under the warranty. Explained that the only miles were those from the delearship to my home plus maybe 20 more...

Most of the complaints on these forums should be investigated in the same detail as the complaints themselves force potential buyers to question the business practices of said dealer. With that being said I med a man named Dan Gardner at the Fairview Heights lot (fairly new I presume), and my experience was quite different. Not only was he flexible for the payments and down payment options, but he offered us to test drive it for hours instead of minutes and encouraged us to take it to any garage and have it checked. There were a few minor things wrong with the vehicle (as is with the majority of used cars eventually!), but he actually had them fixed immediately and took 1000 dollars off the price without my even asking. I don't know about the aforementioned complaints as I was not there but since I did not see Dan's name there I am asking that you give the guy a shot. Talk with him openly about your limitations and watch him change your mind about ALL used car dealers.

Ask for Dan
Did they offer to fix the problem for you? And do they require large Down payments ty

My brother and husband was looking to buy a vehicle tax time needless to say sure in the h**l won't be their. How can they do ppl that way
I would never recommend Kennedi Auto for anything. On Oct 23rd 2015 I purchased a vehicle from them and paid with my Debit card. They took the whole amount out of my account then told me that the transactions where declined, But they where not and they received my money. Jeremy told me they have had problems in the past with their POS syatem and that it would be fine. We left with what we felt was a paid for auto . Dec 18th a salesman shows up at my house and when i asked if i could Help him he told me he was here for his F%$# Lexus. Wow Paid for a car in full and they tried to repo it what a joke of a company. Please stay away all i can say you have been warned.
I purchased a 2006 Saturn Ion in January 2013 from the Collinsville, IL location.. I asked for car faxx and was informed that there was no record for the car.. we took a test DRI e and I noticed that there was a slight noise from the front end.. the salesman was side to promptly mention that Saturn's naturally do that.. I agreed to purchase the car with the exception that they replace the front tires and check things over.. I was supposed to come by after work the following day to pick up the car.. they said the keys would be in it.. just grab and go... well, I trusted them and did as they said.. I didn't make it 10 miles before the "road noise" turned Into a complete grinding noise, and the steering became erratic. Once I got home, I found that there was no temporary tags installed, I didn't have a single piece of paper proving I own this car or when it was bought. The next morning I looked the car over on my friends lift.. well the car had been wrecked up front... the sway bar links were not attached and seriously bent, the tires had 2-3/32nds tread left.. the wheel bearing hub assembly was shot, it needed a new output shaft seal. There was almost $800 from jacks 66 in eville.. a week later I took it in for an alignment check and two new front tires.. there went $300.. well with in 3 weeks of the new tires I noticed that I the front end would loose traction and swerve at any chance.. went to Dobbs.. had to get four new tires And ANOTHER alignment... there went $600.. they said the subframe is bent and it will never be properly aligned.. so here I am two weeks after my second alignment and its starting to pull to the left and a strange vibration had developed in the accelerator pedal..
DO YOUR RESEARCH AND NEVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!
I called the dealership and mentioned the issues I am having, they informed me that it was not their problem, and then hung up on me.

Seems they have a site under construction featuring some cars
I have not been to the Freeburg store yet but if it is anything like the one in Fairview Heights I think it deserves a shot. I was met with prompt service and treated with dignity by a man I know only as Dan [protected]. He was knowledgeable, honest, and also had a good sense of humor without being overly "pushy" (something that is often reported of used car dealers). After I expressed interest in a few cars he not only offered me and my wife to test drive the vehicle but encouraged us to check the vehicle out thoroughly at a mechanic of OUR CHOICE.
Fraud and cheating
I bought a car from Kennedi's on February 6, 2009. It was my first car and I loved it. At the time of purchase, I was told that I had to bring $400 back on March 6, 2009. Two hundred was for my sales tax and the other two was for the rest of my down payment. My papers said that I had to bring the money back on the 20th of February 2009, but the young lady...
