Here's a story about some people you can't trust. Two realtors from Prudential Fox Roach's Margate, NJ, branch were involved in my purchase of a house. Mark Arbeit was one of them, who represented me and my wife; Lou Solomon was the other, who represented a dumpy, pasty-faced, high-fivin' mortgage broker, from whom we purchased the place. Nine days after we...

Prudential Fox Roach Awful experience

Two realtors from this firm-- Mark Arbeit and Lou Solomon-- were involved in my purchase of a home from a disgusting mortgage broker. Arbeit represented me and my wife; Solomon represented the filthy mortgage broker. The MLS description for the house indicated that standard NJ seller's disclosure form was available for inspection. Stupid me-- left that to Arbeit. Anyway, nine days after I'm in, I discover a leaking underground oil tank in a concealed shed back-to-back with the regular shed.

First thing I do was ask for the disclosure form. "Whoops, " I'm told, "Uh, there never really was one. And don't ask any more questions 'cause nobody knows nothing." OK. I then ask for names of prospective buyers who had probably seen the tank and balked at buying. Things got contentious. "Look, sucker, you own it now. Just beat it."

Well, I later found out that Mr. Arbeit had a career in education before he reinvented himself as a "realtor to the stars." He tells people 'round here he left because there was no money in education. Not true. He left because of some incidents with elementary school boys about which you can read in The Washington Post archives for June 20 and 25, 1987.

I took that info to NJ's Real Estate Commission because realtors in NJ must possess "good character" to be licensed. This commission is so totally apathetic or-- much more likely-- corrupt, it blew me off. It knew all about Mr. Arbeit's "troubles" with the children, but, hey Pru-Fox vouched for him and, in NJ, Pru-Fox gets what it wants.

The high fivin' realtors and their mortgage broker pal still laugh and boast about sticking me with this toxic waste house. Well see who laughs last, though.

Prudential Fox Roach Fraud and cheating

Two realtors from this outfit-- Mark Arbeit and Lou Solomon-- teamed up with a repulsive mortgage broker to stick me with the broker's house over a leaking underground oil tank. These three high-fivin' jokers thinks it's a laugh riot. You want a laugh riot? Read about Mr. Arbeit in The Washington Post archives for June 20 and 25, 1987, then think about all the "savvy" sellers who actually trust Pru-Fox with keys to premises on which young boys might be present. These clowns think I'm a joke? We'll see who laughs last.

Prudential Fox Roach Home Purchase

Two realtors from this firm were involved in my purchase of a home in Sept. of 2017. One represented me and my wife; the other represented a really repulsive mortgage broker who sold the house. Nine days after I moved in, I discovered a leaking underground oil tank in a small, concealed shed, back-to-back with the main shed. My first step was to ask for the standard NJ disclosure statement from sellers, which had been advertised on the MLS as available by the seller's agent. Whoops, sorry, I was told, and don't bother asking any more questions either because nobody knew anything. OK. I then asked just for a list of prospective buyers who had looked at the place, some of whom doubtlessly saw the tank and balked at buying. Things got contentious; I was basically told, "You own it now, sucker. Take a hike."

Well, I later found out that my realtor, Mark Arbeit, had a career in education before he became a "realtor to the stars." You can read about how that career came to an abrupt end in The Washington Post archives for June 20 and 25, 1987. Suffice it to say, these articles detail some incidents in which Mr. Arbeit was engaged with some young men when he worked as an assistant elementary school principal. NJ requires all realtors to possess "good character" to secure a license, so I took my info on Mr. Arbeit to NJ's Real Estate Commission. This commission is so apathetic or-- more likely-- corrupt (it is NJ, after all), it told me to beat it. It knew all about Mr. Arbeit's "troubles, " but, hey, Pru-Fox vouched for him, and Pru-Fox gets what it wants. The two high fivin' Pru-Fox realtors and their disgusting mortgage broker pal think I'm a joke. Maybe I am. At this point, though, I just want seriously to spread the word about them. We'll see who laughs last.

I dealt with two Pru-Fox realtors from the Margate, NJ office & regret it to this day. The two are Mark Arbeit & Lou Solomon. They teamed up with a Bernie Madoff-wannabe mortgage broker to stick me with the broker's house over a leaking underground oil tank. These three "Real Estate Professionals" think it's a laugh riot; they still point to me as proof that they're so slick they can unload even a toxic waste dump. You want a real laugh? OK. Listen to Arbeit claim he left the field of education for the realty rackets because there was no money in the former, and then see the real reason why in The Washington Post archives for June 20, 25 and 26, 1987. Know also that Solomon lets prospective buyers know his clients' bottom lines. Hey-- it happened with me & my wife! Sure we were taken. But we easily could have been taken for $20k more had not Solomon let it be known for what his mortgage broker pal would settle. The only way for Pru-Fox to make this right would be for them to disassociate themselves from these swindlers.

Two realtors from this firm teamed up with a slimy mortgage broker to stick me with the broker’s house over a leaking oil tank. When I asked for the standard NJ seller’s disclosure form, which had been advertised as available, I was told it actually never was completed. OK. I asked for a list of prospective buyers, who doubtlessly had discovered the tank and alerted the seller and his realtor. “Beat it, ” I was told, “Nobody knows nuttin’. You own it now, sucker.”
I later found out that my realtor had been bounced out of his job as an assistant elementary school principal for some improprieties with some schoolboys. Because NJ requires “good character” for a realtor’s license, I took this info to NJ’s Real Estate Commission. I was laughed off; Commission knew all about my realtor’s “troubles”; but, hey, what Pru-Fox wants it gets in NJ.
My name is still a punchline among all the dirty, high-fivin’ realtors in Margate, NJ. At this point I just want to get out the word on these clowns. We’ll see who laughs last.
