Satellite Direct UK Ltd Overcharge on Direct Debit

On the 22nd April 2009 this company took £129.90 from my bank account instead of £12.99. I was at first able to contact them about this and they assured me that they would pay the £116.91 back into my account within 28 days. After waiting for 2 months this credit did not show up. I contacted them again and they were full of apologies and said that a cheque would be put in the post. Here we are almost 4 months on and now I find their phone number is unobtainable and they are not replying to my e mails. Maggie.

Satellite Direct UK Ltd over drawn direct debit

26 march 2009 withdrew £65 from my direct dd should have been £6.50, I agree with all other coments i have read with one exception in that i ways sent a cheque that sbsequently bounced, the reason they gave me was that the cheque book was stolen and another one would be sent in next 2-3 days, well i am still waiting, i am considering taking them to the small claims court but will it be worth it, if they have gone into liquidation, the cost i believe would be £35, i tried the bank initialy but was told that i had to take it up with the company myself, as direct debits are set up in trust, thats a laugh, where do i go from here.

Satellite Direct UK Ltd DIRECT DEBIT

THESE PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN ANOTHER UNAUTHORISED DIRECT DEBIT FROM MY ACCOUNT FOR THE BREAKDOWN COVER. I HAVE RANG THEM MANY TIMES BUT THEY JUST PUT YOU ON HOLD AND MAKE MONEY OUT OF THE PHONE CALLS.
i HAVE WRITTEN TO THEM AND FAXED THEM AND ALSO E-MAILED THEM BUT THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO
ANY COMMUNICATION - MY NEXT STEP IS TO GET THE
POLICE INVOLVED ( I HAVE CANCELLED THE DIRECT DEBIT AND WOULD ADVISE ANYBODY DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY TO BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE MAKING ANY DECISIONS)

I have the same problem with this company, they have taken payments of 49.99 out of my account two times in a space of a few months when it should of been 6.50 per month. i was the one who had to do all the chasing and with the help of my bank claim the money back. i called sky tv for adivce about my sat cover where they advised me to cancel my direct debt with this company as they do not endorse them and put me in contact with a reliable company. Which i did that day. since then sat cover have started a new direct debt for my account without my permission. I only found this out when checking my bank statement and noticed a direct debt i did not know as it said play. when talking to my bank they informed me it was sat cover agian!. Yet again i have cancelled it will be checking my statement next month.

If a payment has come out that shouldn't of then get it refunded under the direct debit gurantee, the bank will refund it and then claim if off the company, bank cannot refuse to do this as a legal thing

Satellite Direct UK Ltd Unable to contact & overcharge

The direct debit request for April was 10 times the normal monthly amount. There is no reply to the telephone number supplied by the above company, no reply to e-mails and the additional number on the internet is "no longer in use". I have incurred bank charges and charges for using premium phone lines that go to answer machines. I suspect the company is in liquidation and has been requesting direct debits when not in business. Trading Standards inform me that the registered number supplied is not valid.

For the second time I have been overcharged for my cover. I have had £50 taken from my bank account instead of £6.50. I have tried to ring the company but to no avail. The message on the phone just says that it is temporarily out of service. Please, please do not subscribe to this company. I don't know who they are but they are certainly not what they claim to be.

My elderly mother has had the same experience with these people, dhw has had £50:00 taken out of her bank account, then payments going up from £5.00 to £6:50 a month. Every time we ring up we are told this number is temporarily out of order. Please do not have anything to do with these people. Peter

The first thing i noticed was that my monthly fee had gone up from £9.00 to £12.00 without me being consulted. i rang to see why no one knew, then i noticed that £90.00 was going out on direct debit, i got straight on to the bank to have it stopped i was glad i happend to check my banking on line .

Oh, two more:

South Coast Satellite Services
and Not Just Aerials

Not Just Aerials sell "Digital" aerials in advance of the digital switchover as all current existing aerials will not be able to pick up Freeview, so they say!

And watch out for SATELLITE DIGITAL, in Chichester -they've bought Satellite Direct (minus the debts) - apparently.

I went to their head office in Ford recently: loads of post in the front reception area; former staff members trying to collect wages; Satellite Direct's business seems to being dealt with by Sat Link at the Ford HQ; plenty of nanagement with fancy cars, ipods and blackberry things! Looks like there are no incoming phone lines.

DAVEBLOOD

with regards to getting money back, ... all card detail that the customer would have had to provide to get the service agreement up is all insured by the bank. therefor if the policy has been missold all monies will ne refunded via a bank charge back (stated in the Distant Selling Regulations)

BANK CHARGE BACK: bank refunds money immediatly and then chaces it off company...

DID YOU KNOW?
that barclays bank have stopped letting their customers set up direct debits to Satellite Direct... now thats saying something!

AND FINALLY...
David Reynolds was and still is giving full refunds to anyone whos policy was missold and to all those who have had 10 times the amopunt takjen out their account... just write to his head office in Ford, Arundel...

all i have to say is that i work for a company on the sky affiliation programme...basicually we are one of the trusted companies to sell the warrenties on behalf os Sky (as sky are only a broadcaster). the other company is called donestic and general. they are an insurence company as i am aware most of you know

anyway...

satellite direct were taken to couort by sky and also by trading standards (mainly for the missinterpretation )... they were told to stop trading under Satellite direct, Sat Cover and also Subscriver Services... however we all know taht they havent stopped doing it.

anyone with any of the 8 different satellite direct companies should say well clear! prime example... their brighton office closed down last wednesday... David Reynolds the director simply went in there and sack all the staff! now those that were covered by that office have no way of getting incontact with them as there is no staff there to answer phones!ect! (lets hope the law is finally catching up with him because i for one and sick and tired of cleaning up the mess he leaves behind when he sells warrenties!)

anyway, if i were any of you i would stick to www.gotucoveredltd.co.uk

very very very good company

email me for more inromation... the_water_baby@hotmail.com
