Unwanted Service & Unauthorized Charges
By way of e-mail Streamflix is saying that I have ordered services from them that I have not. They plan on billing me through my phone company. I have not authorized this. I plan on notifying the phone company that they are not to accept billing from this company. I also plan on filling a complaint with the BBB and with the FTC in regards to this matter.

I received my monthly Verizon telephone bill with a 14.95 charge from StreamingFlx for an unauthorized subscription to this company allegedly made via email. I have never gone to this StreamingFlix website nor did I sign-up for any subscription to their service. This is a scam and must be stopped! There is nothing legitimate about this company's manner of conducting business.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Embarq isn't the problem, Streamingflix.com is the problem, the phone companies just process the payment - I'm not sure how they get your personal information.
Make sure to contact your phone company, the more complaints they get from customers about a service like streamingflix. The sooner they will stop doing LEC/Alternative Billing (bill to phone number) with the company.

Good Luck All.
52lr,
If you contact me I can help you with this issue also. We don't sell your information to other providers. It's likely they retrieved the information when you filled out some form or registered for a site on the internet. All my information is above. Sorry you had trouble also.

I just got an email from this company, too. They had my full name, address, phone number and, obviously, my email address. Where are they getting this information? I, too, am an Embarq customer. Did they sell their mailing list or something? If so, that is very irresponsible in this day and age.
I never signed up for this 'service', neither did I agree to this online or by phone.
I wrote an email to their customer service and it had better stop right there. I've been eliminating what I can to get my bills down, and now I get signed-up up for something I didn't want and can't afford.
If anyone knows, please let me know if I have to call Embarq to get this stopped.
Debbie,
Sorry you're having trouble with your bill. I can help. Send me an email with your phone number and I'll be more than happy to help. My email is EMBARQ_Joey@embarq.com.
