Ross Dress for Less customer service/ cashier

I was in the Ross on 3900 S Bristol Street, Santa Ana, CA on Sunday, Jan. 21st. I was checking out and I had 2 glassware items that needed to wrap in tissue paper. I asked the cashier if she had some and she replied Yes. Then I asked her to wrap the 2 items and she changed her story and said she didn't. Then she start throwing the fragile items and the bag. I immediately stop her and ask if she could double the plastic bags over the items, she then replies to say "Oh you can do that, its fine." Hands me my receipt and then I tell her that it was bad customer service to do that. She ignores me and continues to walk away. Her name was Olga. I didn't appreciate her attitude and she shouldn't be working there if she is not going to be nice or helpful. Also, the store should be carrying tissue paper if they are selling glass items. It's pretty standard in most department stores. Thank you.

Ross Dress for Less discrimination from employees and manager

As I walked into the Ross store in San Francisco I was immediately told by loss prevention that I was not allowed in the store app on asking why he had informed me that he had caught me a month ago stealing immediately I ask for a manager and after waiting for 15 to 20 minutes finally after she showed up I had explained to her that I had never been in that store before and they must have me confused with somebody else I proceeded to tell her that I had never been there before because I had recently moved to the Bay Area less than 2 weeks ago and after the loss prevention said that he caught me a month ago I told him that was impossible the manager cited with him and said if he caught you stealing then you must have been and told me to leave the store immediately after she had said that I let her know that I would be contacting corporate she said that was fine upon exiting the store she had looked over to the loss prevention employee and laughed and the gentleman for loss prevention said to her people that look like that are always the one stealing after I had heard what he said I turn back around and asked him to repeat what he said and he said people like you that dress in trashy clothes with all those tattoos and piercings you're the type of people that could never work and the person that delivers my pizza working minimum wage and makes no real kind of money. After he finished saying that to me I replied with asking for his name? He didn't want to tell me it at first and tried turning to the side so I couldn't see his name tag. Eventually I was able to see it and then ask for the manager's name and she said it very quietly and I had to ask her to repeat it multiple times before she finally said it loud enough that I was able to hear it and that's when I walked away and walked out of the store. Once I was outside talking to a friend and explaining what had happened I observed the two employees standing there laughing to one another and pointing to show other employees who they were talking about when telling the others of the story of what just happened as they were telling the story all the employees gathered around to listen and none of them we're doing their jobs and there was about 10 different people ignoring their job just to stand around to listen to gossip.

I work at Ross, only because now I need the job, but this company is the worst, not only do they treat their employees like we are thives their entire loss prevention is a joke. They are constantly profiling people for "supposed shoplifting" a lot of them are biased towards Mexican and African American's. This company has an absurd belief that if you greet customer repeatedly they are less likely to steal from you. The fitting room process of checking every garment is stupid they prefer to blame employees for theft then actually do something about the real shoplifters. The company atmosphere makes working their a conflict with my values, I believe they treat certain customers unfairly, all because you didn't smile or greet the loss prevention employee you must be up to something. If you speak up about the unfairness about targeting a specific racial group your threatened with calls to the district managers. They treat loss prevention like gods, but reality they are bullies with no power. To add to it I too have been targeted by loss prevention where they are keeping eyes and cameras on you its ridiculous.

Ross Dress for Less harassment of school children

On Friday, my son and his friend were getting off the bus. They were walking, talking and joking as all young teenagers do. The boys noticed a police car circle them and come back around, the officer got out and asked them some questions. The officer asked them, "what is your name, date of birth and address because it has been reported that y'all been causing trouble round here." The boys answered the questions and complied with the officer out of fear of what might happen if they didn't. my son went to his friend's house and waited until the officer left the neighborhood to go home because he didn't want to walk home alone.
I am writing to this to complain about how my son was treated. He is a good child and has not caused any trouble in the neighborhood so I don't know why he would be stop and harassed.

Ross Dress for Less returning my money from a credit

i already sent a complaint about this same subject with no reply. I purchased a jacket from store #1723 on december 3rd fpr my husband. It was not to his liking, so i had seen a different style jacket at store #1464 so i returned the jacket from december 3rd and purchased the other one. There was a price difference, the first jacket was $24.99 and one i was buying was $39.99. The cashier did a same receipt for return credit and the purchase of the new jacket, the difference in price was $16.50 which she charged to my visa. The jacket was too small so i returned it on the same day i purchased it. This where the problem is, the cashier would only give me $16.50 credit for the jacket, i talked to two other staff members and they tried to convince me that i was only owed $16.50. i tried to show them how the transaction works to no avail, i returned the next day as instructed to talk to the manager and it was the same story. So i have already paid a $24.99 charge on my credit card and i have no garment to show for it. The receipt # for the transaction for the return credit and the new purchase is [protected]. could you please clear this up for me i want either a store credit or a check for the amount joan heveran [protected]@aol.com

You need to clarify your complaint. Did you have a recipet when you brought back the first jacket? if not then you would have been given the lowest marked down price (without a recipet) at the time. Or if you had exchanged the items with a recipet the second jacket will give you a store credit because you used the amount from the first jackets towards the second jacket amount.

Please clarify the payment options you used.

Ross Dress for Less returning

Hi, I was very dissatisfied with customer service on December 29. I was returning a Christmas gift that someone gave me I didn't have a receipt and I didn't have the tag but I had a little bit of tag that said was from Ross and a lady had no I can return it. It was that cuz she can find a shirt that was close to it and could we still return it or gave me store credit so I'm very disappointed with that customer service is not my fault that the person will give me that present don't have to tag or the receipt but was a little business from Ross.

I'm far from a complainer about proper spelling and grammar, but this complaint is so poorly written one has to try to decipher a meaning. I really does become reflective of a poor education level. In addition, why would anyone think they should be able to conduct a return or exchange without receipt? How does the company bring the merchandise back into their system and assign a value to it?

Ross Dress for Less boots with unsafe eyelets and return

In October, I purchased a pair of Boots for $19.99 along with a total of $66.28 spent at that time. Due to our weather being warmer, I did not put these boots on until this morning only to find that the eyelets had sharp metal inside the boots. At this time, I decided to return them to the local Ross Store only to get a Credit. I had the original attached ticket on the laces on the boots and the sticker pricing under the bottom of the boot. I took my Bank of America card statement in to show the date of purchase and the $66.28 transaction where I purchased the boots. When the clerk scanned the boots, she told me the price was only $0.49 now and since I could not find my original ticket, she could not give me the price. I am only asking for the $19.99 back since the boots are unsafe to wear and should not have been placed out for anyone to purchase. I am true to size and did not try them on in the store prior, also, I was not told to hang on to my original ticket when I made the $66.28 purchase. Please help, I loved shopping at Ross and had planned on shopping today but instance stopped me.

I can appreciate the frustration as I'm sure you can appreciate their inability to know what you may have paid for them.

Have you simply tried to fix the eyelets? Shouldn't be too difficult.

Ross Dress for Less customer service

A Supervisor by the name Janel, at Tamuning Ross, shouldn't be in that position at all. She has the rudest attitude and is also not helpful. She also posts things on social media bashing Ross. Do you think someone really should be in that position, when they take no pride of their workplace? Janel is so rude. Very shameful! Always takes pictures of herself while on the job. Always on the phone, and almost always screwing around. You should check this place and her service as well! I will never go there! Ever!

My sister works at Ross at Encino California and they managers there are terrible and it is because she is in College and her college is not like 5 minuets away it's all the way in Santa Monica. Its heads for her to balance school and work.At work when they give you the sheet where you write your availability days and times they don't give her what she wants. She has once told them three weeks advance that she will be out of they country they said ok then on the day when she was out they called and asked where are you and she said that she couldn't come in in advance they didn't listen. And for the dates and times she asked for is so messed up she had a finial at school then from school she had to rush to work it's so crazy they make my sister so late nights when she needs to study or do homework for school the managers had made her stay off the clock before and didn't get paid over time.Finaly the managers complains to my sister about her. Ross you need better managers or have all the Ross companies wherewhere give there workers a survey that says what they like and what they don't like and you should make it where they don't say who they are I'm giving Ross of Encino 1 star.THE COSTEMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT

Ross Dress for Less manager tamera

To whom this may concern

On December 18, 2017 at 5pm. I had a very disturbing experience at the Ross in Cumming, Ga with a Manager named Tamara. While in line 2 other customer and I were conversing with each other about how ridiculous the line was with only two people on the register. Tamara took it upon herself to interrupt our conversation by say "She's coming back from her break no need to be upset". We looked at each other shocked at the way she interrupted and how she said what she said. The other sad we weren't even talking to her and she interrupts again this time rolling her eyes saying "well it's Christmas what do you expect" I said for you to be a manager I'm shocked at this type of treatment. I asked her for her first name which she gave I asked her for her employee I'd or last name and she stated rolling her head and neck I don't have to give you that. I always shop at ROSS, I love ROSS and I have never been treated that way anywhere in my life. Majonita Estelus

Ross Dress for Less complete unorganized disaster

The Ross Dress For Less in Round Rock, Texas is an absolute disaster right now. Adult clothes are in the children's section, and vice versa. There are items all over the floor and being damaged by people walking by. The company is going to lose so much money just due to the fact that their products are scattered all over the floor. Nothing is where it should be. Staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. I was completely ignored in the checkout. I will never be returning to that particular location. It is truly a shame because I have never had an issue with Ross at any other location. Corporate needs to jump on this particular store and correct these infractions immediately.

Ross Dress for Less management

My name is Jessica Ransom my client ID number is 488157 and I work at Ross Dress for Less store number 00618. As I arrive to work today I went to my stockroom as I am the stockroom lead. My plan was to hang a few apparel, run a few hummers, and if need be run a few racks, because it was a big truck. So, I started to hang apparel. Immediately, one of the area supervisors, Stephanie, asked me with a nasty attitude "why are you over here"? I was stunned and replied with "it's a big truck so I thought I'd help hang". She snapped back with how she had 5 hangers and I didn't need to be over here I needed to be over there (hardline). I was so embarrassed, that I had to walk away as tears were starting to form. I told her I would be right back that I couldn't deal with her attitude. I was going to collect myself in the bathroom and then speak to my assistant manager. The asst. Manager wanted me to run the fitting room rack so I did that. I asked her if another co-worker and I could switch so I could hang apparel and she would run hardlines. She said that she thought that was a good idea and to run it by that same area supervisor that I had to walk away from. I informed her I couldn't. I did not get into specifics with her at that time. Upon returning the fitting room rack to the fitting room, the co-worker there informed me that I was being talked about over the walkie talkies, which in my opinion was very unprofessional, as there were customers around. I returned to the stock room and switched with another capable co-worker and proceeded to hang. I recently found out I am 8wks pregnant with a doctor's note stating specific restrictions to not lift anything over 20- 25lbs, work no more than 8hours, and to have 2- 15minute breaks as well as one 30minute break. So she was more capable of running hardlines than I was. The area supervisor came at me with the same attitude asking the same question, "Why was I over here?" I explained to her that I had simply switched with another co-worker and she was running hardliners. She said that co-worker did not know how to hardtag the hardlines, but this is not true. I asked her "since when"? She came from the front end knowing how to hardtag already and whatever questions she had, she asked. I informed the area supervisor that I could go home and she said ok. I felt completely disrespected like me being there was more a burden than a help to them. All I ask for is a little respect shown to me in front of my entire stock team. There's a sign in the office that says, "you shouldn't feel the need to belittle others to feel better about yourself. " I have complained to the store manager for years and she has always told me to call the hotline whenever I feel I've been treated unfairly. I feel like enough is enough. My own stock team has told me how proud they are of how long I've stayed and what i put up with because they would have walked out a long time ago.

Ross Dress for Less bad customer service in sunrise, florida store by juannita

Today (12/11/17 at 4:36 pm) I went to my local Ross store to return a pair of shoes that I bought yesterday. Juannita took the pair of shoes that I didn't even try because the color didn't match the dress that I also bought in Ross and I will be wearing for my Christmas party (I work as a nurse Practitioner in Memorial West Hospital). She look at them and said that they have been worn, that they had some dust in the bottom. I told her that the price tag showed that they have not and the heel is brand new. She said again that she was not going to change them. I told her that I needed to talk to the manager. She went to him and told him "this woman wants to change this worn shoes" in a very loud voice in front of all the people that were waiting in line. I went to the manager explained the situation to him and he told her to receive the return. Went I went back to her she was furious giving me attitude. I told her "you are very rude." She answered "you think so... the manager is going to take the shoes and you are still making a scene." I went back to the manager that was working as a cashier and I told him that I needed to talk to him. He finished with a client and came to were I was. I told him what Juannita told me. I told him that I have been a Ross client for many years and I have never had an experience like this I have never felt so disrespected. This makes me think that I should look for other places to shop that might appreciate my business (they are many options now like Marshall's, tj Max, etc). The manager was very nice and apologize. He said that he would address the issue with her. I hope that he does because I don't think that clients should be treated that way. And if Juannita doesn't like or doesn't have the skills to deal with public should not be in the position that she is.

Ross Dress for Less furniture

I returned an item to my local Blue Springs Missouri Ross location. The item I had purchased was a screen or room divider that cost $29.99. I returned some three or four weeks later without a receipt because I found that it did not fit in the room. I ask the clerk what the policy was and could I just exchange or receive a gift receipt, she immediately reacted very rudely and asked if the tag was still attached. I told her I thought it was probably in my purse and that I would look for it. As I begin to look she picked up the item and I noticed that the tag was still attached and I told her this. She demanded very rudely for me to go ahead and show her the tag that was in my purse! I told her there's no need, the proper tag is still attached. She again demanded to see the tag I was reaching for inside my purse. She acted as though she was accusing me of something and was extremely rude. At this point I told her that the tag in my purse was not even relative because the tag she needed was still attached to the item! She very rudely looked at a computer for all of 10 seconds without scanning any ticket whatsoever and said to me "your item is currently on sale for $15 and that's all I can give you". I told her I didn't think so because I had just seen my exact item over the weekend at a store in St Louis and her reply to that was that they receive markdowns every Monday morning and that this item was marked down. So I took the $15 gift card and went shopping in the store. I then saw the item I had just returned on the sales floor for the full price I had paid at 29.99, not marked down. I went back to the front counter and told the sales clerk that the item was in the store and not marked down. She then said "oh I know but that's because your item was old and that one we just got in and that the SKU numbers on your tag is not the same at all as on the item we just got in". I then asked to speak to a manager and she told me there was not one available and handed me a slip of paper with a phone number on it that I could call supposedly. So I told her that according to what she was saying that she would put my item on the sales floor next to the exact same item and mark the one I returned at $15 when there was one right next to it exactly the same for 29.99? If this is true, which I would be pretty sure it isn't, that is insane. How could that be? I took pictures of the one on the sales floor and it is exactly the same item that I returned. The item I returned was no more than 3 weeks old so how could she say that it was so old that the one that just came in had an entirely different SKU number? I believe she was lying and just decided she didn't like me the minute I walked in the store. How could this be? And how could anyone working in retail be as rude as she was? I have worked in the retail industry my entire life and I'm currently a regional educator and business consultant for a very large corporation. This person would never work in any of my stores and she should not work in yours. I want the remainder of what I paid for this item which is an additional $15. I made this return on December 4th early afternoon. The clerk was heavy set with brown hair slightly curly and glasses. I will never go in this location again and prior to this I have shopped frequently at the Ross Dress for Less. I have spent thousands of dollars there over the years and probably have been at the Blue Springs location at least twice a week. I have never been so shocked at how rudely I was treated and outright lied to.

That is how the returns work without receipt. Also they will put two of the same items out with one being a lower price than the other. Markdowns work based on the length of time the item has been in the inventory system. You could buy an item on Sunday and return it without a receipt Monday and it could have been marked down it just depends on what markdown category is going down that week . People should be nice with customer service but even with the nicest Ross associate you would have still gotten 14.99 plus tax back on a voucher card. Moral of the story Keep Your Receipt

I appreciated reading your complaint.

According to the complaint, you returned the merchandise without a receipt. Is there a reason why? I assume you had just lost it. This being the case, I really would commend the store for allowing any exchange or refund to take place at all. The issue becomes one of not knowing exactly what you may have paid, so somehow they have to take a price which is the lowest possible price you may have paid.

With all of that said, they should treat you with respect and courtesy. Some people just have a bad day or don't realize how they may be coming across.

Ross Dress for Less picture frames and mirrors

I am a regular Ross shopper and I have been into many many stores. Every single time I purchase a picture frame or mirror, etc... the price sticker is stuck on the glass! It is a pain to get off. It's honestly really frustrating especially when there are other places to place the price sticker. I would HIGHLY suggest that this is stopped or I will no longer be shopping here. My whole (huge) family shops here by the way and we will all not be coming back if this is not fixed. We have all had issues with this.

Thank you

Oh my gosh, thank you for saying what I think every time I buy something at Ross that is a gift. They put the price right where it will be ugly if it won't come off all of the way. There doesn't seem to be any system for how they price items so they should put the price sticker on the bottom or the back imo.

Ross Dress for Less the staff and security guards didn't follow protocol when I was robbed in the fitting room.

November 27th 2017 I went to the Ross in Hollywood. I selected 18 items at first I tried on eight of them I kept the items I was going to buy and then exchange them for the other six. After walking into my dressing room I set my purse down onto the little bench then I noticed one of the shirts were stripped so I took the shirt over to the lady who gave me the number and told her the shirt was ripped she asked me to go back and get her the number I went back got her the number went back to my dresser and proceeded to try clothes on tried on one shirt and then when I look down I noticed my purse was gone that was it within 3 minutes of the whole transaction I then went to the lady in the front and said someone stole my purse did you see anyone walk out she says no I don't think so and then I went back inside and I looked in every stall except for two that were still occupied and I didn't find my purse so she said she would call security I waited 10 minutes by the fitting room nobody came I was waiting I realized that the person was getting away, so I ran to the front where the security guard was and I let her know I said please help me please I need you to look at the cameras or look around someone needs to help me everyone just did their nobody did anything 5 minutes past she finally pulled out her computer and I said can you please call the police she handed me her phone and she started looking through the camera and how she was looking through the camera she told me to step back that I couldn't look because I'd get in trouble or she get in trouble so I ended up walking back to the fitting room looking around looking and every aisle searching asking around and nothing I came back to the fitting room talk to the girl there and said please try and remember if you saw something and she said she was so sorry I went to the security guard she said we're sorry we didn't find anything I said what do I do is she said I don't know I guess you could make a police report but there's really nothing we can do. I walked in that store with $450 cash my debit card my identification card my phone my makeup some perfumes so precious stones some jewelry my house keys and my favorite jacket all in my little purse that was a floppy purse that somebody must have put into their bag and escaped. I'm making this complaint because I was not help not one bit the only thing they did was look at the camera and there was no protocol whatsoever it was Shear chaos she could have done process of elimination and started asking me questions like did you see this person what did you see anybody what happened or in anything looking at the camera and then within 20 minutes told me she saw nothing and that wasn't there was nothing they could do there was no incident report they didn't give me a phone number they didn't ask me for a phone number in case anyone returned anything there was no customer service whatsoever I feel that if there had been someone in there actually doing their job because I reported it within 3 minutes my purse would have been found but the person that I was complaining was young maybe about 24 years old she didn't seem to have much experience with customer service or security her name was Hazel I'm sure she's only getting $10. Yesterday was such a painful awful day I walked out of Ross - everything I owned walking with nothing but the clothes on my back with no phone numbers to contact anybody and Ross did nothing nothing to come accommodate me they wouldn't even call the police I am appalled and I'm going to shout this at the highest mountain I've been a customer at Ross for so long and I have never been treated so wrongly by their staff and security there has to be some liability here.

My name is Della Page and I have a complaint against William Page who currently works at your East West Connector location in Austell, GA. We are currently separated and I am in the process of filing for a divorce. I have recently observed William being a bit too friendly with the female staff on a couple of occasions while visiting the store and also standing around at the registers when he was not scheduled to work. When I enter your establishment I am no longer his wife but a customer and should be treated as such. Without making a scene I have been approached by William with a nasty attitude just because I came in the store. He asked me was there something I needed as if I had no business in the store. William has also made a threat to me on November 28, 2017 after I came into the store minding my business to purchase a pair of pants and told me after he got home I better not come back to the store ever again or I will see. The store is a public place and I have every right to shop there but If I am going to be confronted by William each time I come in this will become a legal matter. Our current marital situation should in now way cause me to feel uncomfortable when I come into your store and William should approach me as a customer and not a wife. Each time I walk in the store he doesn't greet me with the standard, "Welcome to Ross" and this has happened on two occasions. I don't appreciate the threat and would like to know if anyone at Ross gave William the authorization to threaten me if I come back in the store something would happen to me? I expect to be treated like a customer when I walk into your store like everyone else. This type of behavior should not be tolerated at the front door. William became very upset when I caught him and one of the ladies at the front fraternizing at the front counter and being a little to charming and he was surprised to see me walk in the store, since then I have received treats William.
