Today November 22, 2022 around 12 PM We went to Ross The checkout line was huge all the way to the back and they only had one cashier open I went to ask if they would be able to open up more cashiers and they said that they were aware that there is a big line, that's it! They did not add anybody else we were over 40 customers in line. After 30 minutes they finally opened a second cashier with the manager on it. She did not allow Me to pay in 2 different transactions she claimed that the senior discount was only For one transaction a day. 1 purchase once on Tuesday to get discounts. The item was a black Nike jacket. The cashier Ivette refused to do the return. The incident caused me a lot of mental and physical stress. I followed the return policy but she still refused to do the transaction without a valid explanation. Ivette was dishonest, no scruples whatsoever.
Desired outcome: Compensation for the emotional and physical abuse that I suffered.
Broken sensor in boot sliced my foot open
Hello on August 16 I tried on a boot in the Ross store in Ogden Utah it had a broken sensor and sliced my foot I got a tetanus shot the same day as a result I talked to the manager of the store they put me in touch with someone who never gave me their number and said I would be reimbursed for the price of my tetanus shot and the price of faxing my medical bill over it’s been months I’m sick of calling the store this is ridiculous the amount of hoops I’ve had to jump thru for a whopping 75$ I am to the point I’m going to have to take legal action I have pictures of the broken sensor my foot and the boot in question and my medical records 4043 Riverdale Rd

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, I decided to run into Ross Dress Store since it just opened. Should've turned around when I walked in. The first stop was shoes and yes, they were in disarray for the store just to have opened. Well, let me look elsewhere and it was pretty much the same. Nothing was in order neatly for the store to have just opened. So, I stepped away into the clothing aisle and found a few bargains, proceeded to cashier. Waited and then it was my turn. The Latino young lady seemed pleasant at first. Then when she rung up my pants, she was just tossing them in the bag without folding them. I stopped her and said, "how come you're not folding my pants" and just tossing clothing in the bags for them to be super wrinkled. She looked at me without hesitation and spoke with an attitude, stating that her "supervisor" told her they're not paying them enough to fold the clothes! So, she stated you can fold it if you like but we don't have too. WTH, I told her if she was unhappy with her job, cool don't take it out on the customers who's spending their hard-earned money in the store. Please by all means, just go and find you another job. I'm sure folding clothes is in your job description in a clothing store... Not to mention a small check is better than NO check.

Desired outcome: REPLACE them! Never ever should a customer be told they don't have to fold your merchandise because they're not getting paid enough. WHAT!!!
Not being given all required breaks
If you work an 8 hour shift, you are suppose to be given 2, 15 min breaks, and a 30 minute lunch break. Very rarely are you ever given your last 15 min break. Especially if you are working the fitting room. You are often given your breaks way too late as well. You are told that they are short staffed and can't get anyone back there to cover you. You are also expected to clean the rest room, however you are mot allowed to clean it unless someone is there to cover the fitting room for you. So if you are unable to get someone back there to clean the rest room quick enough, you are yelled at for not cleaning it. I can't clean it if I have no one to cover me. You are expected to keep all the areas near the fitting room picked up. It is impossible to do if you are busy back there. My store is always a mess and one particular manager will keep people there up to 2 hours past closing at times to completely recover the store. When we are extremely short staffed. So we'll have 4 people closing, including the area Superviser on a Saturday. This is when we cannot leave until she is satisfied with everything being completely picked up. They will have you closing and then schedule you to open the next day. This particular area Superviser does not help recover the floor at all. As soon as all other managers leave, she will remain in the office doing nothing the whole shift. Completely unfair. I get that she has disabilities, but if you cannot perform your duties at all, you shouldn't have that type of job.
Desired outcome: I would like to see us be given all of our required breaks, on time no matter how we are staffed. I would also like this area Superviser to actually help us recover the store, and not make us stay 2 hours past closing.
This is what our toy section looks like on any given day because the customers destroy everything and we have too many toys for them to look nice.

I was due to work 4 days this week, I got to work Sunday and had Monday off then ended up calling in on Tuesday, due to a medical issue caused from brain surgery I had back at the end of May. then I get a call today Thursday telling me not to come in for my next 2 shifts today Thursday and Saturday, because they had to cut back on hours yet they just hired 3 to 4 new people. This is purely retaliation.
Desired outcome: Get my hours back.
Rude poor customer service supposed policy
Yesterday 9-17 at 2:00pm we went to the mall at Jefferson Mall Louisville Ky. We purchased a stroller shaped like a little car in the mall entrance. When I arrived to go into store I was greeted very rudely and told I was unable to bring this stroller into the store. I had kids with me so not like I could leave it outside store with anyone or someone could have taken it as it had to be returned. I do not understand this, as it is the same size as a shopping cart and even some strollers going into the store were much larger. My whole family and extended family shops at Ross and I was buying for 4 people that day, so Ross lost money due to this so-called policy. I saw nothing posted outside of store stating this policy as I went back and looked, Myself and my family will no longer shop at any Ross, and I will extend this occurrence on social media as I know many people shop with children as will consider this when shopping.

I have really bad experience waiting at the fitting room. I saw this 2 ladies arguing who is going to putting back the clothes. I was waiting to get the tag of number of clothes that I was going to try on, and one "she" was walking towards me and say: "YOU TAKING PICTURES OF ME!" I replied, "No I'm texting my son." and she approached to me to try to look at my phone, and I even showed her that I didn't take any photo of her. Why was she like that? Is she crazy? She tried to accuse me of taking photos of her when I wasn't. I told her that I will call the manager, and even other staff that were there and I show her my phone. I asked her who is the manager? and she told me to ask the security. Which I did and explaining what happened, and after few minutes I was talking with the manager. She listened to me explaining the incident and what happened,She say she believe me, she ask me to go to the second floor to try the clothes. I did and I ending buying the clothing at Ross.
This Ross is one of my favorites stores. Since this incident happened I will shop with another store, this is unacceptable behavior and this lady should be re-trained or moved to another department. I just don't want this to happen with other customers. Thank you.
I am no longer working at Ross anymore my last day of work was Sept. 13th 2022 and found out yesterday October 14th 2022 they still have me active for work I tried to call ross on how to fix this issue they told me to call HR but the number they gave me is for equifax I called the number they keep having me on hold and I never talk to anyone
MANAGER DISVERIS was rude
This manager walks to the front of the store to tell me that she can only give me $1.49 cents when I paid $29.99 for my dress! When I tried telling her I need my money back she said she can't help me and can only give me $1.49! Terrible customer service and when I asked to speak to someone above her she said she was the store manager? She then started speaking Spanish to the other cashier instead of talking in English and then they are looking at me talking in Spanish. I tell her I'm going to shop around and keep my stuff in the front and she puts it in customer service and then I come back to get my stuff and someone put it away! Ross needs to get more people on there floors because I was walking over clothes and always slipped on a hanger the manager Sandy brushed me off and didn't care how dirty the store was
Return policy is you can make returns or exchanges within 30 days WITH a receipt. This is also stated in the back of the receipt. The only time this will happen is if you return without a receipt because they can only give you the current selling price so next time keep your receipt

I bought a Halston purse with some other items from another Ross store ..Me & my sister went to the Montebello location because we missed the exit for our normal store in diamond bar..When went into the store we weren't greeted like the other Ross location I went to get a refund because to the purse started to tear up & unravel the line was kinda of long at the time it was girl at the return register instead of saying someone will be with u shortly she turned off her light walked off the registers.. Another associate got onto the next register when I told I was returning the purse because it was tearing up she acted like I was lying til she saw for herself that purse was indeed tearing up I couldn't find the receipt ..She went and ask the person who is manager on duty she said that's the wrong tag & basically made it seem like I stolen the purse so when I walking to see if the purse was in the purse section the same associate that walked off the register saw me walking with my cane she nearly bumped into never once did she move so I can pass when I was on my way to look for the purse they called lP to watch me once I got to the purse section the same purse that I was returning was sitting right there never once did any of the associates bother to check the area ..Iam multi racial I spend so much money in Ross It's one of my favorite stores I would hate to stop shopping there because I'm being treated like I'm a their ..I will not ever shop at the Ross Montebello location ever again..

Wrongful termination and discrimination
On Aug.18 2022 I was terminated saying I was red flagged for rehire when I had already worked 6-7 days before being told I was no longer able to work for Ross Distribution Center in Rock Hill SC. I already had problems with a second shift manager upon my previous employment with Ross. I really enjoy working for Ross and disappointed that someone has the power to have a person fired for personal reasons. Everything was going smooth until that manager realized I was back but on 3rd shift.
Desired outcome: I want my job back because I shouldn't have been able to work at all once they pulled my application and gave mey hiring packet and went through orientation

Today August 17th 2022 as my wife and I were in Redding, Can at the hilltop location. We were purchasing night where a clothes hamper some candles and a belt. From the second we walked in my wife had said why are they looking at us and I said who knows they probably have dealt with a lot of theft recently. But after countless times of the same "security guard" popping up behind us, eyeballing from a far, slamming the doors to the back and asking us over ten times if we needed a basket I realized it wasn't a problem of us but a fact that the guy either hated his job or had nothing better to do than harass us over and over with having homeless people in the store and other alot more shady looking people however you want to put it. He started to get on our nerves as myself have spent over 5 thousand dollars in your store from last year to now. He persisted countless more times with anger and lack of thought to keep pursuing us about a basket when my wife had an arm full of things typically happening going shopping not necessarily planning on buying more than you thought ending up with much more than planned. I myself had searched for a size 34 belt and only found one and in the mix of searching I came across one belt and thought I was bleeding to then realize a security tag was broken not removed but leaking fluid on my hands so I proceeded to wipe it off and go about my shopping. The underpaid in anger security guard then proceeded asking which one was broken and I had no clue but pointed out there it was as I was still searching for a size 34 belt to then find a size 34 Nike belt. My wife walked up with a clothes hamper and her things carrying slippers flip flop sandals, night ware panties and a candle. Out of no where the security guard appears again insisting that people fill them up and run. I then laughed and said okay great buddy and showed him I had plenty of cash on me and to leave us alone please as this was over the tenth time of pursuing us making my wife uncomfortable in the women's clothes section. We continued to shop and my wife had to ask and point out that he was still on the other side of the isle, looking through the back I industrial doors and not leaving us alone. So I commented don't worry I'll make a complaint they shouldn't hire people that think they are GI Joe or a foo that didn't make itm I feel as if this guy was angry at his height weight job and much more than us buying a few items before we resided back to our hotel which was $300 plus a night at the sheriton. I had only picked up a belt and a candle while still looking for plain white tshirts and boxer briefs to sleep as we didn't plan to stay in Redding another night but we were so we figured to go to Ross where again we have spent over 5,000 dollars in the past year with no issue ever regarding returns purchases security never have we had a more. uncomfortable time and inconvenience than tonight. My wife had gotten tired of being watched and stalked through the store as if he was sexually aroused at her otherwise why follow us and approach us a number of times over and over. To then be told that they were watching us and that they were not the problem but we were trying to steal items from the store. My wife had asked me to help pick which slippers and which night wear to get before getting a cart to put the abundance of things back because shed only wanted one of each, she also didn't have to carry around the store being pregnant only to be told she was trying to hide the items within the clothes hamper when we were almost done shopping and had already grabbed a shopping cart almost approaching checkout. I'm not some homeless person of Redding that your store still allows in and frankly allows them to steal everyday and let them loiter outside to only bring down the value of your business and in turn scare people off that enjoy finding things they like that might be to expensive or they cannot find elsewhere. My wife and I have never had a worse encounter at any store in our entire time of living near Redding and will not be returning to this establishment. We will be filing personal harassment case and sexual harassment case in both employees of this location and using my father's lawyer in theory will be owed a settlement. I hope you can seek better employment and not over work youre underpaid employees to then turn their anger into inferior disrespect to their own customers due to their lack of enjoyment in life. I will be needing the names of all your employees managers and security guards to then pursue wether they are even suitable in such the work environment. You provide for people of all classes but hire the lowest of respect. We will not tolerate this and will be taking action on the whole hilltop location as frankly it. is not needed with the newer addition across town. I'd much rather see a sportsman's warehouse or bass pro shops anyhow which my father is involved in. Thanks again for ruining our experience and night to no longer ship with Ross. Hopefully this will wake you up to seek more r sposible. hirint practices and training when hiring such illiterate and dumbfounded people to employ your store. We will be taking action this week and frankly you're not Walmart, target Costco none of the sort of a corporation and we will be asking for compensation of our time and energy to then be told nobody will sell us anything at the store from now on. Hopefully this is a good wake up call for Ross dress for less and you can learn from something like this to better employ respectful employees and security that has actually stemmed from a professional background without being emotion and personal greif to the job. We're disgusted and will not tolerate this.

I am currently shaking absolutely fuming. I just left the ross store in Crestwood Illinois after the manager called me a [censored] in Spanish. He asked the lady who was ringing me out if I donated to the kids of America and she said no, and because I am wearing a scarf he assumed I didnt understand Spanish. He proceeded to call me a [censored] in Spanish. I will be posting on my tiktok, facebook, and instagram all about this situation. The male manager at the Crestwood store is a racist, islamophobic, and absolutely rude. Please fire him or get corporate involved.

Today I encountered a belligerent, rude and INCOMPETENT Ross Store Manager. He has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE APTITUDE, no skill for handling difficult situations, and has POORLY REPRESENTED ROSS IN A RETAIL SETTING.
I entered the store and walked immediately to the line. Another customer came behind me a second later. There was clearly only 1 cashier and she was already assisting customers. Another employee was cleaning the glass display cases 4 ft directly in front of us, and another employee was straightening carts, then preceded to go behind the cust svc area, shifted a few things, then return to the carts.
In my assessment, one of the two employees (glass cleaner or shiftless) should have acknowledged us in the line. So, I said “excuse me” in the direction of the cleaner (since she was directly in front of me) and asked if she can get on the register to assist? Keep in mind the other cashier is STILL BUSY WITH CUSTOMERS. This girl stops wiping, lifts her head, looks directly at me/us, and goes right back to cleaning the glass! WTH!?!? I’m not one for being stunned, but I was truly speechless. Immediately, over my shoulder came a voice asking “did she just ignore you?”. YES!, she did!
Now Shiftless decides to “hear” us and I then ask him (loudly, because he’s questioning us from the area of the carts) can someone assist. His rudely replied was NO. The other customer and I are both in WTF mode now. He proceeds to tell me it is “NOT HER JOB” to be a cashier. So I ask that he be the cashier. Again, he says “NO”.
UNBELIEVABLE! We (the customer behind me is also involved in this exchange) banter back-n-forth for several minutes - voices raised, and he is still standing by the carts, we are still in line. At some point in this craziness I demand he get his “[censored]” over to the register since the glass cleaner couldn’t. We ask if he’s the Manager; and he still refused to get on the register.
Now I see there a 4-5 more custom in line behind us; and the ONLY cashier is ready for me. I make my return and leave the store but not before noticing several groups of people watching the “show”, while still only 1 cashier working. UNBELIEVABLY POOR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.

I applied to 4 different Ross locations in Ventura County. All four I applied for, have hiring signs outside. I called all locations I applied for to speak to management directly. I received the worst answers, they placed me on hold for 45 minutes, and one manager hung up on me. I have over 15 years of customer service experience and am willing to work. Horrible experience, how do they expect to hire employees? And, most importantly committed employees.
