Loss Prevention
I was falsely accused of previously stealing from Ross in Oakland Ca soon as I stepped into the store the loss prevention approached me and demanded I get out he was really loud and said he was 100 % sure I was the person who had previously stole he got into my face and told me to get out now really loud I asked for the manager she came out and said she has to go with what he was saying I never been so humiliated before in my life mind you I'm a African American woman and he was Caucasian everyone in the store was looking it hurt so bad I went to my car and cried I've cried everyday since this has happened can someone please help me get justice I'm so hurt and don't no who yo turn to Please!
Desired outcome: Employee to be fired and for me to get something for the pain and suffering I'm currently experiencing

This is a complain from a store manager at the Dr. Phillips, Orlando, FL 32839 store. ([protected]).
I shop there almost daily for my active wear. One of the cashiers is nice & makes me feel comfortable at this location.
Sometimes the outfit is smaller or larger once I go home & try it on because we are not allowed to try it on at the store. So I go back to exchange it & that was encouraged by the catchier since I have no clue how it'll fit by just looking at it.
I tried to exchange an item that costed only $9.99 tonight because when I tried it on it ripped. I bought it on Sep 13th @ 9:10 P.M. & tried it on a day later, then today (Sep 17th) got a chance to go back & exchange it.
The manager was extremely rude. First she said no to the cashier. When I asked her why she said "this item was not at MY store." I told her to check the receipt & see that it was at that location (besides it's not HER store) & the date to check that it was not a "wear & tear."
Wear & tear applied if the item has been worn & used more often. Not when the item is just being tried on. From the dates, 4 days, are not supposed to test a sports wear pants even if I wore them 4 times. We buy clothes that should last us more then 4 times!
I told her that I'll send an email to the supervisor she went on in a very rude attitude & started mentioning an email while she was hanging items & I was checking out with the catchier.
I never thought I would write a long complain over only $10 or even $100, 000.
I am a TV anchor & therapist & wouldn't lose people or time over $10. But that attitude & disrespectful manner was & is not acceptable.
I almost shop daily at this store for daily fitness clothes & enjoy the process of seeing a friendly cashier & choosing an outfit after my workout which is at the gym across that store.
I don't want to have to drive to far locations to avoid a rude manager.
Also not sure if she was a manager or what's her role, but she gave orders to the catchier & claimed ownership of the store while she was arguing that this item belonged to another store. That's another issue. ROSS is a franchise, even if the item was at another store we can exchange it at that one.
Please send me an email and let me know that this issue has been taken care of because I would hate to talk about it in media & show people how managers misuse their "status" & treat customers in an unacceptable manner.

I purchased the shoes at Ross in Jacksonville, FL on my last evening visiting on vacation. I returned to CT and the plastic had an extreme bad smell. I tried washing them with soap, baking soda and all remedies I googled to get rid of smells in plastic. I am not near a Ross and would like to be reimbursed since the odor is overpowering and I can't even stand the smell. I had to tie them up in a bag.

I am a former worker at Ross Dress for less in Dover, Delaware. Store (1765)As a worker I have worked many shifts without breaks. Most of my shifts I was supposed to be given 1 15 minute break and a 30 minute lunch. And on more days that I could count I was given none. When I would call the Ross associate alert line to report this, my case would be closed and nothing would be done about this. Also I have been the only cashier during many rush periods. When I would call the manager and ask for back up she would tell me to handle it by myself. Moments later she would leave the store, knowing there was a line. There have been times where the store manger would come to work hungover, complain that she was hungover to staff, and then leave the store and not work her shift. Once while the manager was working in another store she asked the assistant manager to take money out of our cash office and bring it to the store she was working at, so that store would not be short. When the manager left the store he left associates in the store by themselves, even though he knew according to store policy they were not allowed by themselves. On 5/18/21 at the Ross for Less Milpitas store I purchased a bunch of items that totaled $67.64. When I left the store, I looked at my receipt and realized the cashier did not give me the 5% senior discount that I asked for. I returned immediately after and she said she'll do the refund and re-ring me for the items with the 5% discount (totaled $60.89) When she did, something happened at the register and she had to get the store manager to help. But I did get a receipt that looked partial but it did have the receipt #[protected]. I was told it would show up on my Chase banking account in a few days. It didn't so I had Chase try to resolve it. Well, Ross rejected it twice. I went to the Milpitas store and the rep said I had to call the 800 number and they couldn't do anything even though it was their mistake. Called the number and they disconnected each time I was on hold. I submitted the request 3x on their site and never got a response. I have paid for the same items twice and it's not right!
Desired outcome: Just refund my $67.64 with my bank

Went to Ross American Fork UT and found an item I want to buy. Went to the service desk to see if they have another stool since the store only has 1 and missing a cover on one of the bottom of the legs. I was referred to the manager only to be told that they don't have the capability to call the other nearby Ross store to check the item for me. That I the customer best call myself. So I called the University Parkway branch in Orem UT and Draper UT branch only to be told they are too busy to check the item for me. I asked if they could check the availability so I don't drive all the way to the store and not have the item. It will be waste of time and gas for me since they're not that closeby. I was told they're too busy to check it for me. Wah! What a customer service! The manager didn't take the time to call the other stores, the 2 associates from 2 different stores were too busy to check a item and hold it for a customer! Ross, the customers need a better service than this! I will never set foot on a Ross store and I will definitely not recommend this store to others. For sure Ross gets 5 star when it comes to bad customer service!

Like most businesses, they are probably dealing with staff shortages and literally did not have someone who could go searching for an item. What they could have done though was taken your name and number and said someone would check when the store closed.

07/15/2021-Around 10:00 p.m. The African American Manager at the Ross in Cinnaminson, NJ told everyone over the loud speaker to get in line. Then around 10:20 p.m. walked up to my and my family and told us to get in line. As we made it to the counter around 10:30 after waiting in line the woman told us that they do not do any exchanges or returns after 10:00 p.m. Thus is very disappointing especially when we are loyal customers. Not acceptable.

Today 7/13/2021 I purchased a lot of items from here! Upon getting to the register after ringing up my merchandise she say oh this is the wrong price for this 2 piece set! I say well the tag say $4.99, I didn't put it up there, she say well it's $24.99 do u want it? No ma'am I don't because the price say $4.99! This is bad customer service, due to Ross staff! Whatever is on the ticket should have been honored!

I am writing in regards to an experience I had yesterday (6/22/2021) at one of your Ross Stores and to say that I was offended and belittled is an understatement! I shop at Ross stores on a regular basis, in fact most of my home goods, shoes, birthday gifts, etc. etc. come from your stores.
I went in because I was looking to purchase a gift for a ladies day we are celebrating at our church, but as I walked by the rugs, I noticed a very nice 9x8 rug for $69.99 at a reduced price from $99.99, so I decided to buy it. I went to the register with my ladies day gift, along with a beautiful rug, I never walk out of that store with only what I went in for, well I get to the register and the gentlemen that was checking me out checked the tags and looked at me and said, "this is not the tag for this item, you are going to have to pay $99.99" and I told him, "well that's the price the item had" and he kind of gave me a yeah right kind of look. So mind you, I am an American, I am white and look white, but I speak Spanish because my husband is Hispanic and after 20 years of marriage, I learned the language. So this cashier turns to the lady next to him and says in Spanish, "yo creo le cambiaron el precio" (I think they changed the price tag) so I then turn to him and say, "I need to speak to your supervisor", so he called Kimberly Espinoza and he explains to her, in Spanish, that the price was changed and that I want it for the $69.99, so the supervisor turns to me and says, "You're going to have to pay full price, that's not the correct amount" I then proceeded to tell her, that I had dug this rug out from the very back of the rack and that I in fact DID NOT change pricing on the rug, but they made me feel like I was committing some king of fraud, I would never do that, I am a respectful, hardworking, Christian woman. The supervisor then walks away and gets on another register to continue to help other guests, it was like the "end of the conversation for her"! I would at least have expected the supervisor to apologize for the inconvenience, the way this was handles was very unprofessional, rude and belittling to me. I have worked in customer service all of my life and you DO NOT act that way, in fact, you apologize and try to work with the customer, so that both parties are satisfied, go back and look at the cameras if you want, but you don't just drop the mike and walk away, it was so disrespectful. I then proceeded to ask him for her name, so he phones her through the ear piece and says, "they want your name" and he then says to me, I can't give you her name and then raises his hand and says, "Next in line!" Apparently, he was also done with the conversation! So I personally walked over to her and asked her to give me her name.
I don't know how soon or if I would be returning to your stores after that experience and I would hope that something would be done about this type of behavior towards customers in your store. We live in a 99 percent Hispanic community and I think the misconception of Hispanics never reporting these types of incidents and behaviors, maybe makes your employees think they can treat the customers however they want.
I have also attached the ladies day gift receipt I purchased before the incident for reference.

6/14/2021 7:42pm Assoc 2104028 Reg 02. Greatest Day! I shop primarily in the Rock Hill SC store several times a week. During the pandemic the dressing rooms were closed. We had to return several items. Sometimes there is a new employee who doesnt know how to do the returns correctly and will ask if I have ID and instead of doing several transaction (multilple receipts) they will do just one since I am exchanging all items.
Well Recentley I was told I could not do a return that I had done too many. No Way! I always have a receipt. and I mean always. New Employee... Returned one of my items with another item but then tried to continue instead of different item on different receipt and the item stated already been returned! I am explaining that she returned it. someone look at the camera I state! several several mistakes ... and now I can not return anything because too many returns! What! I am a faithful customer. Total embarrassment. In fact I do not understand if I have a receipt! It is not my fault if the cashier decides to make it easier on herself. The Customer has a right to know that if you return a item w/o a receipt so many of times Ross will block you like you. I spend too much money in Ross. Also the cashier next to my cashier on reg 1 was very rude and belligerent continuously. I had to tell her as a customer service representative for ROSS her behavior I am sure is not acceptable. The young lady megan my cashier said it was her first day. She had no assistance and needed help. Clearly she didnt understand because she asked for my id like 10 times. None of the cashiers were knowledgeable about the system and could not give me a copy of the transactions. Register 1 stated she would but too busy being rude believe purposely did not give. Yes I was very upset but not indignant. Apologized to my cashier she should have never even been put on the machine by herself with multiple transactions if not done before. I tried to tell her for each receipt it is a different transaction. I believe she tried do everything at one time. I paid 16.99 for one of my items and system wanted to give me 11.00 over 30days but I have receipt. NP I can keep the item but to not be able to return a item. Then I was also told that the item was already returned... In return it is because the cashier returned it then things got confused. My name Is Lezlie Stevenson. I shop alot. and I have been told I can not return items with out a receipt. That I have done too many. Never on my own. I do not wish to be in your system as too many returns w/o receipt due to the fact it was not my call to do so. Plus the cashiers as well as the customer should be made known of these consequences.
