Sit back & relax, What a joke from RBC Canada
I kept receiving mails from RBC Canada regarding their taking over HSBC Canada & RBC telling me how systematic & seamless their claimed transition process is so we were told to simply '' sit back & relax'' & they would take care of things, etc.
When I did not receive any paper confirmation/statement telling me where my HSBC products are with RBC 18 days after March 31, 2024 , the final transfer completion date, I first called the supposedly dedicated RBC number re any questions concerning the HSBC product & service migration to RBC.
To my total amazing, they have no clue where my HSBC products are at RBC. The same long personal verification (interrogation!) process, long explanations & conversations repeated 4 times with different parts of RBC for over 3.5 hours yesterday before my HSBC products were eventually located. Yet, more concerns came up---------my address & phone number were all wrong & they blamed HSBC sent them the incorrect information. However, I feel that the RBC part that received my HSBC products should have FULL RESPONSIBILITY to verify & confirm all incoming SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA & PRODUCTS ARE CORRECT & THEIR SUPERVISOR/MANAGER MUST CHECK & VERIFY AGAIN TO AVOID THIS SORT OF TOTALLY HUMAN MISTAKES SO THAT CLIENTS WHOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION OR ACCOUNT WOULD NOT SUBJECT TO ANY BAD FAITH ID THEFT/FINANCIAL LOSS, & OUR STATEMENT WITH INCORRECT ADDRESS' ETC. GONE TO SOME STRANGERS & SHOW THEM WHAT KIND OF ACCOUNT/MONEY WE HAVE AND SO ON. GOT IT, RBC CANADA, YOUR CARELESS MISTAKES & UNPROFESSIONALISM MIGHT HAVE VERY SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES TO SOMEONE USING YOUR INSTITUTION!
ALL RBC letters have the correct address, so the RBC office that took over my HSBC products MUST MAKE THE UNACCEPTABLE MISTAKES THERE. If I got someone else phone number, WHY DID MY OWN NUMBER GO? DOES RBC CANADA REALIZE HOW MUCH PERSONAL INFORMATION SOME PEOPLE WILL FIND ONLINE BY USING JUST YOUR PHONE NUMBER!
I wonder & will verify at a later time if RBC ALSO HAVE MY SIN NUMBER' MY EXTERNAL BANK LINK , ETC. ALL WRONG & MIXED UP WITH SAME FROM OTHER PEOPLE. TO ME', THIS IS A TOTAL PROFESSIONAL NEGLIGENCE ON OUR NUMBER ONE BANK IN CANADA!
Mixed feelings about RBC: Good options, bad customer service, sneaky credit checks
Yo, so I had a beef with Royal Bank of Canada (rbcroyalbank.com). I was just tryna get some overdraft protection for my account, which they said was easy peasy, but then they hit me with a hard credit check. Like, what the heck, man? I wasn't even applying for a credit card or nothin'. If they had given me a heads up about that, I woulda said no way, Jose. So I hit 'em up and told 'em to fix it, but they were all like, "Nah, that's too much work, we're closin' your case." What kinda customer service is that? They gotta do their job and fix their mistake, ya know? It ain't cool to just brush me off like that.
But I gotta say, aside from that mess, RBC is pretty decent. They got a lot of options for banking and investing, and their website is pretty easy to use. Plus, they got branches all over the place, so it's convenient if you need to go in person. And their mobile app is pretty slick too. I like how you can deposit checks just by takin' a picture of 'em. That's some high-tech stuff right there.
Overall, I'd say RBC is aight. They just gotta work on their customer service game a bit. Oh, and watch out for them sneaky credit checks, ya hear?
Disappointing Experience with RBC Royal Bank's Customer Service and Exchange Rates
I recently had an experience with the Royal Bank of Canada (rbcroyalbank.com) that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had been trying to explore the exchange rates charged on my credit card, specifically my WestJet Elite card. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the worst experience of my life.
During one transaction, I was charged the equivalent of 5% exchange, even though they claim to only charge 2.5%. This was a significant overcharge, as the total transaction was for $10,000 plus. I spent a total of 5 hours over the course of a week trying to resolve this issue.
I first tried calling the bank's customer service line, but was met with long wait times and unhelpful representatives. During my latest call, I spent 1 hour and 56 minutes waiting for someone to pick up. I was transferred to two different departments before finally being transferred to disputes. However, when I reached this department, I was greeted with a message that said "sorry our current wait times exceed 1 hour and we will need you to call back". To make matters worse, they then disconnected the call. I couldn't believe it - has anyone heard of automated call back messaging?
Feeling frustrated and out of options, I decided to visit my local bank branch. However, I was told that I needed to call Mastercard directly. This was not what I was expecting, and it only added to my frustration.
Overall, my experience with the Royal Bank of Canada was not a positive one. While I understand that mistakes can happen, the lack of support and long wait times made the situation much worse. I hope that the bank can improve their customer service in the future, so that others don't have to go through what I did.
Terrible Experience with RBC Small Business Account Manager, Jorge Gonzalez
I recently had a very negative experience with RBC and one of their employees, Jorge Gonzalez. As a small business owner, I have been a client of RBC for 23 years, but after dealing with Jorge, I have decided that I deserve better.
Jorge is supposed to be a "Small Business Account Manager," but his service is absolutely disgusting. His knowledge is subpar, and he takes days to answer communications despite the urgency. Even worse, he took six months to approve a loan for me, only to tell me several days later that he was mistaken and I wasn't approved.
Jorge's behavior is rude, belligerent, and ignorant. He should not be dealing with the public, let alone supporting small businesses. I am now taking all of my business, personal accounts, house insurance, home insurance, credit cards, and loans to Scotia Bank.
The abhorrent behavior I've experienced at the hands of Jorge is almost unimaginable. I can't believe that RBC would employ someone like him. I wish him luck in the future, but I will never do business with RBC again.
Warning for RBC Customers Traveling Abroad: My Experience with ATM Fraud
I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with Royal Bank of Canada (rbcroyalbank.com) when I was traveling abroad. I don't usually like to complain online, but I think it's important to share my story so that other RBC customers can avoid the same situation.
So here's what happened: back in February, I was in Malaysia and I needed to withdraw $800 from an ATM. The machine had a withdrawal limit of $500, so my transaction was declined and no cash was dispensed. But when I checked my online banking, I saw that the $800 had been deducted from my account. I was told that this was normal and that the money would be automatically credited back to my account at the end of the day, when the ATM was counted. But that never happened.
RBC opened a 90-day investigation into the matter, but they never checked the CCTV footage of my transaction or the footage of the people who fill the ATMs. This is usually done by two people and a video camera on a tripod to record them (in Malaysia). I don't want to accuse anyone of stealing my money without evidence, but it seems like there was no effort made to collect that evidence. All I know is that the ATM couldn't have dispensed the amount they claimed it did ($800).
I've been through a lot of angry letters and phone calls with RBC, and I even opened a case with the Ombudsman, but nothing has come of it. The Malaysian bank won't help me either, so I've pretty much given up on getting my money back. It's been a really frustrating and upsetting experience.
So if you're an RBC customer and you're traveling abroad, be careful when withdrawing large amounts of money. I'm so paranoid now that I film my transactions with my phone, but I don't even know if that would help. It's just important to keep your money safe and be aware of the risks.
