This place charged my mom way too much for a car, like way over the sticker price
This place charged my mom way too much for a car, like way over the sticker price. And guess what? They pulled the same stunt when I bought a car from them too. Can you believe it?
The people at this car place are so careless
The people at this car place are so careless. They ran my credit for someone else's car purchase without asking me. They admitted they made a mistake and used my info for another customer. I went to the car place myself to fix it. They said I could trade in my car for a new one. They ran my credit again and then said I couldn't trade in my car. This whole thing has been a big hassle. Don't waste your time here. They not only gave me info about someone else that I didn't want, but they also ran my credit for no reason. They don't care about keeping people's personal info safe.
If I could give this dealership no stars, I would
If I could give this dealership no stars, I would. I went to the location in *** ,. I went for a diagnostic for my car for electrical issues because the car I have was stuck in 3rd gear. They came back to me with 8.5k dollars in repairs that needed to be done. Including a new transmission, when the codes my car had were communication codes. I paid the fee for diagnostic, took my car to a transmission shop who told me my transmission is fine and it's an electrical issue. I have tried to contact the manager for the service department for days now and they refuse to call me back. They tried to scam me out of trading in my car, only offering me 5k for it because of all the "work" it needs. This dealer is a scammer and I will never do business with them ever again.
I went to Sands Chevrolet to look for a car, but my credit wasn't great, so I was open to different options
I went to Sands Chevrolet to look for a car, but my credit wasn't great, so I was open to different options. They told me that the cars I wanted would be too expensive because my credit score was over 650 dollars a month. I told them I wanted a car in the price range of 300-350 dollars a month. They ended up suggesting a 19 *** Malibu for me. We went through the whole process, but at the very end, they surprised me by saying it would actually be 657 dollars a month. I was disappointed because I could have gotten the Kia *** or Jeep Cherokee that I originally wanted. I took the car home for the weekend, but when I came back on Monday for my co-signer to sign the paperwork, the check engine light was on. It seemed like they had intentionally turned it off temporarily so that it wouldn't show during the weekend. That's why they were so eager to have the paperwork signed the next day and not over the weekend. I don't know, maybe I should just take my down payment back and try my luck at a different dealership.
This place is terrible
This place is terrible. I found a truck on the Car Guru app for $24600. The salesman, Conner, tried telling me they gotta add extra fees for what they did to the truck ($3500). I said no, you gotta stick to the price that was on the app, no mention of extra fees. This is false advertising. They don't care at all. Not worth your time going there. I was the only customer in the whole office. Everyone was on their phones, not working or selling cars. LOL and I'm the only customer ready to buy with the advertised price plus tax, title, and license. They said they won't waive the fees 'cause they'd lose too much money. I was your only customer from 3-6 pm on a Friday. You ain't making any money to lose anyway. So I told 'em I'd put this review on the ComplaintsBoard.com, here it is. They said Sands is a family business and Mr. Sands comes in a lot. He must be real simple, slow, and shady 'cause big business stupidity starts from the top. There were a few more issues I wanna talk about but won't 'cause I see all the other 1-star reviews. Now I'm part of a group that'll always remember how bad Sands Chevrolet is. Stay away, they don't deserve your business.
Disonest from begining to end at both Sands Chevrolet - Surprise and Sands Chevrolet - Glendale
Disonest from begining to end at both Sands Chevrolet - Surprise and Sands Chevrolet - Glendale. Was shopping for a used car for my son and found several cars we liked online. We were told (several times) by the salesman that those cars were not at the Surprise location but he could have them transferred over from the Glendale location. We took a test drive in a similar make and model that was available on the Surprise lot to determine fit and comfort but it was way out of our price range. Once the salesman knew that we liked the car, he would not talk to us about any other vehicle. We asked him to check on the two at the other site (Glendale) and he walked away, only to come back and tell us that both cars had been sold earlier that day. My son stepped outside to call the Glendale location to verify if those cars were indeed sold and was told they were both still available. We left immediately and planned to go the Glendale location the next day.Our experience at Sands Glendale went well until we made a decision to buy and had to go to the *** I signed paperwork but was told we would have to come back to pick up the car because it had not gone through inspection. I was not given copies of anything I had signed but remembered seeing a 3-year warranty package at a cost of $4,495 that I was not interested in paying for. I also had a 3.9 percent interest rate because "my credit was so good". There was also a service protection plan that I was told was not optional that was $1,495 and the salesman had shown us a worksheet that showed it would be $285. When we went back to pick up the car, I asked to speak with the gentleman in Finance. I questioned the warranty and asked that it be taken off. I also asked if I could see the paperwork I had signed previously to compare it to the new document. He would not give it to me; saying it had already been sent to accounting. He then gave me revised paperwork that removed the warranty but reflected a new interest rate of over 5 percent. I have purchased several cars but have never had a more unpleasant experience than this one.I purchased a vehicle but I would NEVER do business with this dealership again and will be sharing this experience with everyone I know. I can't help but think had I been a male customer questioning the terms of my financing, I would have been treated differently.

I went to the dealership on Thursday, October 6th
I went to the dealership on Thursday, October 6th. They made me say my SSN out loud with other people around, which made me uncomfortable. Someone named *** tried to cheat me out of ***. *** was also smoking a cannabis pen. I don't think that's how a company should be run, but I'm not sure. It was really unprofessional.
On 02-18-2023, I received a call from a manager at Sands Chevrolet in the morning
On 02-18-2023 in the morning, I received a call from a manager at Sands Chevrolet. He proposed a car purchase for a monthly payment with a $2000.00 down payment. They sent a shuttle for me to discuss the contract. At the dealership, I learned the offer was false. They wanted to charge a higher monthly payment. The manager who called was unavailable, and he didn't respond to my calls.
I had a lot of problems with this business
I had a lot of problems with this business. First, even though we told them we were already approved by a specific lender, Sands Chevrolet ran my credit and my fiancé's credit six times without asking us. Second, they didn't talk to us about our contract and made us get GAP insurance by saying that the lender wouldn't approve us if we didn't agree to it. But that turned out to be a lie when we talked to the lender. And then they raised the price by $2000 without giving us any reason. The contract was dishonest. They didn't give us any information about the coverage or warranties for the 2017 vehicle we bought. And now, the car they sold me broke down just four days after I drove it off the lot. It's been almost two weeks and I still don't have my car back, and they haven't explained anything or followed up with me. I've been calling the dealer every day for the past eight days and they haven't fixed anything.

I went to Sands Chevrolet to trade in my vehicle in May 2022
I went to Sands Chevrolet to trade in my vehicle in May 2022. I paid $800 as a down payment for the trade-in. The car I traded in was a Dodge Dart, and I traded it for a *** Sentra. After all the paperwork and everything, I left with the *** Sentra and gave them the Dodge Dart.
In October, a car recovery company came to my job saying they've been looking for the Dodge Dart. I told them who I traded it in with, where, and the date and time of the trade-in. Since then, that car company has reported to my credit regarding the loan on that car. I've been calling and asking Sands Chevrolet about the trade-in. They now tell me I've never traded in anything and that they have no record of the trade-in. So I'm lost as to what I can and am supposed to do regarding this situation. I feel I was scammed into purchasing a new car.
In 12, I went to Sands Chevrolet Dealership 'cause I found a car online that I liked
In 12, I went to Sands Chevrolet Dealership 'cause I found a car online that I liked. A sales person called me and said the car I wanted (2019 ***) was at their lot, so I could come and test drive it and buy it. When I got to the dealership, they couldn't find the car I wanted. Turns out, it was at a different place, so they tricked me into coming. Instead of trying to get the car I asked for, they went ahead and checked my credit for 8 to 10 different cars without my permission. They just thought I could get approved for any of them. Now, I got all these inquiries on my credit record that I can't remove. None of them were even the car I wanted.
I was searching for a new vehicle online and found one that matched my preferences in terms of color and features
I was searching for a new vehicle online and found one that matched my preferences in terms of color and features. However, it was still in transit. I kept checking on it and eventually spoke with Art, who confirmed that he had seen the vehicle. We scheduled an appointment for the following morning.
When I arrived at the dealership, the vehicle was displayed in the front with a window sticker showing the price. Surprisingly, the sticker mentioned that it had a 1.3 engine, whereas the online listing had stated it was a 1.2 engine. This was actually a pleasant surprise for me.
I had some paperwork from another dealer that they had requested, but when I presented it, they made a lot of excuses and increased the price. It was clear that they were lying to me. I ended up paying $*** above the MSRP sticker price, without any explanation or justification. I later called them to inquire about the additional charges, and they claimed it was for a package called the 289 add-on. However, when I visited the dealer to get more information about the warranty, I was informed that this package had not been installed on the vehicle.
To make matters worse, I had paid for the vehicle in cash and traded in my old car. Now, I see that they have my trade-in vehicle on their lot, but they are selling it for $3700.00 more than what they gave me for it. They need to refund the fraudulent charges that I did not receive and compensate me for the overpayment. I would have never known about this if I hadn't returned to the dealership and discovered that I had overpaid for the exact same vehicle.
On July 21st, I paid $1,000 to Sand Chevrolet for a 2023 Chevrolet Bolt
On July 21st, I paid $1,000 to Sand Chevrolet for a 2023 Chevrolet Bolt. The salesperson promised a $5,900 discount, but didn't say it could expire. We texted about the terms; my car was due in September. Come September, no car. The salesperson said it'd arrive by September 26th, yet it wasn't built. They tried selling me 2022 models, but I waited for the newer one with similar incentives. On October 7th, I reminded the salesperson about the discount via a text screenshot, and they confirmed it. But on October 12th, they said the car would come end of October and the discount was gone. I asked about employee pricing with a referral code from a GM employee relative, but was refused. I feel deceived, as the salesperson never mentioned the offer's expiration, even when pushing other cars. Now, I've lost $5,900 and tax benefits. I want my deal honored and the transaction completed.
My 2016 Chevrolet Impala broke down and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere, so I called my auto warranty company
My 2016 Chevrolet Impala broke down and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere, so I called my auto warranty company. They gave me a choice of auto repair shops near my area, and I chose Sands Chevrolet in ***, . The issue is that my car is being held hostage or possibly stolen by Sands Chevrolet Service. The assigned service adviser, ***, is very rude, by the way, and the upper management team at Sands Service Department in ***, , is not any better. They are adding additional fees of $850.00 plus daily fees on top of that. These repairs and add-ons were never approved by me or my auto warranty company. The management team at Sands Chevrolet took it upon themselves to do additional work without anyone's approval or consent. Here are some of the fees that I am being charged by Sands: 1.) A new set of car keys and programming of a new remote because Sands lost my original car keys. 2.) Sands used their refurbished car engine, which is more expensive, instead of using the engine that my auto warranty company found for a lot less. 3.) Daily storage fees. I have tried to come to a resolution with Sands Chevrolet Service Department and upper management staff, but I was disrespected and mistreated. They talked down to me like I was stupid, and they all refused to listen to my questions and concerns. They repeatedly hung up on me when I called.
I went to Sands Chevrolet to purchase a vehicle
I went to Sands Chevrolet to buy a car. My salesman, Art, confirmed that all paperwork was complete and the vehicle financing was approved. I had informed them of my travel for the purchase and needed assurance on the financing. They confirmed everything was set, requiring only a $1500.00 payment and my signature. After completing the transaction and a 5-hour drive home, two weeks later, the dealership claimed they couldn't verify my employment, and the financing was void. Despite coworkers verifying my employment, the dealership's actions seemed dubious. They demanded the car's return, a difficult task due to my disability and the previous arrangement of a friend's assistance, which was costly. The dealership later arranged for the car's collection, yet billed me $1700.00 for the tow. I am insisting on a refund of my down payment to purchase another car elsewhere, as they have both my vehicle and funds. This unprecedented situation is a first for me, despite having bought numerous cars in the past.
In late April , I went with my girlfriend to Sands Chevrolet to help her with the car purchase
In late April , I went with my girlfriend to Sands Chevrolet to help her with the car purchase. I made it clear that I would be a co-signer and agreed to it. It was a big decision for me, and I had to unfreeze my credit using a co-worker's computer. I wish I had followed my instincts because a few days later, I started receiving alerts for hard inquiries. Keep in mind that I am only a "co-signer" and not responsible for the car loan unless my girlfriend defaults. However, both of us were subjected to a total of five inquiries from "potential lenders." Only one out of the five lenders was used, but I still have four extra inquiries on my record as of April 29, 2022. To make matters worse, Ally was checked twice, first as one of the first lenders and then later as the fifth. This is exactly what I didn't want to happen. Not only did SANDS Chevrolet subject both my girlfriend and me to multiple inquiries, but now creditors see me as owing $20,000 in addition to my own debt. The SANDS team and *** assured me that it's not a big deal and that these inquiries will drop off after six months. However, recently, when I tried to get a loan to help with gas, food, and daily expenses, I couldn't secure a reasonable interest rate due to the lack of consideration from the management. The loan should be adjusted to reflect the true owner, the one who has been making payments all this time. Furthermore, they should fix the four inquiries that have caused hardship for our family. I appreciate the efforts of ComplaintsBoard.com to assist consumers like us who face a lack of leadership and, in this case, perhaps poor communication. Thank you.
I was using the Chevrolet website to find a dealership to buy a car I've been eyeing for a while and stumbled upon Sands Chevrolet
I was using the Chevrolet website to find a dealership to buy a car I've been eyeing for a while and stumbled upon Sands Chevrolet. We bought a 2023 *** Bolt EUV LT from this dealership on Sunday 01/08/2023. The salesman *** showed us that the car was physically there, but we couldn't access or test drive it. Instead, we test drove a similar vehicle. Throughout the process, I confirmed that the car was available for sale and that we could pick it up a few days after the purchase. We went through the whole loan application process, and they even had us open a credit card for another purchase incentive. They also took us to their insurance salesperson for a quote we didn't request. We spent about 4 hours at the dealership to complete the purchase. Today, 01/11/2023, around 1pm, I called to confirm if the car was ready for pick up. They said it was being detailed and would be ready around 4pm. At 2pm, I received another call from someone named *** who informed me that the car we bought on Sunday had already been sold, and we couldn't get it. He said their dealership couldn't tell if a car was available for sale on weekends and that they mistakenly sold it to us. You'd think weekends would be their busiest time and they'd have a process to prevent this, but apparently not. I asked to speak to the dealership manager, but they said they weren't available. I requested a call back but haven't heard from the dealership management. Now we have a credit card we don't want, wasted half a day at the dealership, our credit got dinged from the loan inquiry, and we're waiting for a $5k refund.
I went to Sands Chevrolet with my 2018 *** Passat, which I still owed $14,000 on
I went to Sands Chevrolet with my 2018 *** Passat, which I still owed $14,000 on. I told them I wanted an SUV with third-row seating. My Passat has Bluetooth and is well-maintained. They showed me a vehicle that was filled with dog hair and smelled like dogs. They said it would be cleaned and detailed, which would take a couple of days. I signed the paperwork and was told it would be ready the following Monday. After the weekend passed, I received a call and went to pick up the vehicle. I waited a few more hours because they said it was still being detailed. Finally, I took the vehicle home. The next morning, the smell of dog hair and urine was overwhelming. My children started having allergy attacks and felt like they were choking on the dog mess in the car. I contacted the sales rep and expressed my dissatisfaction. I requested a vehicle that was equivalent to mine, with Bluetooth and in good condition, free of dog hair, urine, and smell. I also mentioned that I wanted my vehicle back if they couldn't meet my request. However, I never received a response. When I finally got a text from the sales rep, I was told that the manager would call me the next day. Unfortunately, the manager never called. I waited for a few hours and then went to the dealership to discuss the matter. I explained that the situation was making my children sick and triggering their allergies. Since I had my daughter with special needs with me, I couldn't wait for too long. They informed me that unless I could stay and have the vehicle detailed again, they couldn't help me and wouldn't return my vehicle. They claimed it was too late and there was nothing they could do. So, I went home with the vehicle, and we continue to suffer from allergies due to the smell in the car.
Went in because my check engine light was on and my car was having problems starting
Went in because my check engine light was on and my car was having problems starting. Before looking at my car, I was told that it was my battery and it would cost $184 to replace. I agreed. Took the car home, check engine light back on and car still having trouble starting. Took the car back, they kept it for a few days, even drove it home and still couldn't figure out why my check engine light was on. Told me they started the car over 100 times with no issue but the light was still on. Asked me to come get it because they didnt know. I purchased my 2015 Chevrolet Cruze brand new from this exact location. They let me drive off the lot with the check engine light still on and to this day my car still isn't running properly and yes, the check engine light is still on. Bad service if you ask me.

Hello ComplaintsBoard.com and thank you for reviewing our complaint today
Hello ComplaintsBoard.com and thank you for reviewing our complaint today. Our issue involves unfair business practice and the outcome of our business transaction. On 6/17 we were contacted by Sands Chevrolet (54th & NW Grand Avenue) representative/salesman Cristian *** P whose supervisor is Stephen Y. We purchased a new Suburban from Sands Chevrolet. I was injured at work and my wife is pregnant, so the dealership was nice enough to have Cristian come to our home to show us the vehicle. The vehicle is listed for $68,170 but after rebates the listed "Sands Chevrolet" price is somewhere in the neighborhood of $58,000. The link for this WAS located at *** but has since been taken down. They (dealership) agreed to give us $30,000 for our truck which we owed $37,000 on. We paid $6,000 down. We were told with our GM discount and Costco member discount the final price of the transaction would be $62,000 after taxes and our trade in, which would bring our loan down to $56,000 after our down payment. We had signed the paperwork and while signing were told additional documents were required. While signing we asked about the prices listed on the contact, which we were told the $58,300 listed on the contract was in fact how much we were financing after taxes and our down payment, which we agreed to by signing. The loan went through on 6/24 for $72,588.80, which is more than $10,000 above what we agreed upon. The extra documents we signed we were later told were for warranties and life insurance we never talked about or wanted. I attempted to call on 6/20, 6/21, 6/22 and 6/23. It was not until 6/24 did I get to speak with anyone who would speak with me about the issue. I spoke to the sales manager, Stephen Y. Stephen agreed the extra warranties sold were unprofessional and he sent a form to cancel them.We spoke 3 times. He advised he would not assist further on 6/25
