Bank account was hacked Schwab November 2023 along with several individuals posted online about their own nightmares all had similar sequence happen. I received text wanting to confirm a transaction, I attempted to call bank few time call dropped, I then received a call from the bank however it was the hacker keeping me on the phone listing last transactions while the completed transfer of funds from my account occurred, called dropped he called back NEVER VERIFIED any transaction, I got suspicious when he asked for my password to black list. I hung up called bank after several attempts to get in touch with bank they informed me there was indeed from fraudulent activity on the account. I informed them the person calling named Victor ASKED for my password Asked for that is it did not provide. SCHWAB rep tells me they are actively working on the fraud case. Hacker called me back I hung up and about 45-60 minutes later myself and spouse receivied text and emails with codes but no further phone contact with anyone so did not share and transactions verifications for over $15,*** was gone wired out over 3 hour ago. Now Schwab blames me and won't guarantee the money saying I provided access by providing a password however I didn't set up this account and didn't have the password so couldn't share what I don't have. The same for the "supposed banking access code" which was removed from the account at some 30-45 days best guess as spouse and myself stopped receiving them before the hack this was discussed with the banking department on 11/18/2023 when we called to reestablish online banking as we asked why we were not getting the log in code she explained we were not getting the codes at log in due to that feature was removed so we asked for that to be investigated I had to be talked thru how to add that feature to ensure I receive the log in verification code the bank claims I provided, well the feature WAS NOT on the account so how did I provide it? To this day we have not heard back as to when and how that feature was removed. The funds were already gone when I called the bank I called 3 minutes after receiving a call from the hacker, I never received any codes of any sort prior to calling the bank and the bank confirmed the funds were gone when I called. Seeing on the banks end the codes were sent doesn't mean receipt on my end. This is a JOINT account spouse is primary not sure why he was not contacted AT ALL either other bank requires that. I did get codes only AFTER the transactions were completed and I couldn't read them when I open the text they are blank when I close them, they permanently delete so can't read can only do the "from email or text" option to log in so can't open to read to share all this was provided to Schwab fraud with pictures however they chose to disregard the information and say I provided it. Schwab Fraud Dept rep contacted us 5 hours later wanting details at points she interjected what she says happened on our end we see this and she kept asking who I provided the codes to, but I had not spoken to anyone after receiving them. My email, iCloud, social media and laptop were all hacked I had to remove the device iPad Mini which I don't own from all platforms. The Fraud department at Schwab was so busy TELLING me what happened instead of HEARING what happened they won't listen to the customer. So now Schwab states I told them I provided the codes and password to my accounts well I was here I know what happened and have witnesses to contradict that they wont give me the time of day. Seeing on one end a code text sent doesn't mean it was received on my end.
