Of course, 9.00 for 2 bags of coffee, a grinder & a coffee cup, that's a great deal! Or so I thought! I wish I had read all of the complaints against this company before I ordered. I ordered this "great deal" on 1/13/08. When I checked my credit card account, I was billed for 34.00. Yes, I did not see the fine print for the "one time 25.00 handling fee!" Then, another charge for 48.95 on 1/20/08. What is this? I contacted the company and spoke to a "Kim", which in other complaints I see her name mentioned, and she was so rude... She also stated, are you ready for this, that another shipment was sent out 1/29/08 on the day of my call with another 48.95! I have not received at that time any other shipments. So, I have disputes with my credit card company and I have sent the one shipment back, merchandise return receipt. She stated she would cancel my account but would not give me any confirmation. When I spoke to her abount unfair practices and the knowledge I obtained about this company she stated "I'll add in your file we are unfair!" Can you believe that? Anyway, if any of you are still have problems with this company, I contacted the Better Business Bureau in Chicago & Northern Illinois and filed a dispute against this company as well. Their web site is http://www.chicago.bbb.org. Maybe if we all filed complaints against this company something will finally be done. Let's all join together to either get this company closed or to straighten out their practices...

I order the coffee and thought that was the end. I got a charge on my credit card for 3 times the amount. I sent back the order but never got credit on my card. It has now been 2 months that I sent the coffee back and have not gotten my credit.

Seattle coffee direct sent coffee with a 'free' grinder upon my interest of their trial offer. Three withdrawals were taken on my acct., $34.00, and (2) for $48.95. When I received the grinder and (2) 12oz pkgs of coffee, which is actually less than 2 lbs, I barely had time to try them out before the second pkg arrived and I discovered the rapid charges on my account. I immediately called and canceled, the rep I talked to was rude and blunt. Even if I was to be charged for the grinder, say a generous $20.00 plus 48 oz of (poor) coffee it shouldn't be any where near $131.90. Now for a refund I have to pay S&H, drive 9 miles to the Post Office and who knows what that will prove to be since I can only send the unopened products back. Poor quality, underhanded practices, lousy customer relations. Need I say more...

It is very sad that you can not even get a cents off coupon, these days, without having to fill out a survey or go through page after page of offers that you really don't want anyway. I responded to an offer from the Seattle Coffee Company (which isn't even in Seattle) for 2 bags of coffee and the coffee grinder for $9.00. I was supposed to have 7 days to try the coffee to find out if I liked it. As it turns out, they figure the 7 days from the day you order, not the day you get it. I had 2 days to try it because of the delivery. Today I go in to my charges and I was charged $25.00 for the first delivery and I was just charged for another delivery of $38.50 which I didn't order. That is 2 orders in less than 2 weeks. I called and was told that there was a $14.95 shipping charge listed on the final order page. They can't add either, $14.95 plus $9.00 certainly is not $25.00. I said there clearly was no such charge since I copied the final page and had it delivered to my email address. I also told them that they didn't even send me a confirmation email and there was no confirmation number on that last page that I copied. It has to be illegal to sell in such a manner. If not than it should be illegal.

I was told by the company that I could send the new shipment back for a refund but the shipping charges were not refundable.

I got hooked into this company through a pop-up that said I was the lucky one millionth reader. The grinder and cup and bags of coffee made a convenient Christmas gift to my friends, then they sent me two more bags and charged my account. I also canceled my account 3 months ago and was assured they would refund the $48 they withdrew for two bags of coffee that I returned. To date they still have NOT refunded my money. Every time I call to follow up I get "our circuits are busy". ###! These guys are crooks.

This company is unbelievable! How can they operate this way?
This can't be legal. It's a total rip-off and scam. Class action lawsuit, anyone? Buy your coffee at the grocery store, or even Starbucks. It will be equally good, and a LOT cheaper.

Advertised $9 dollar charge for two bags of coffee and a free coffee grinder. Actual charge was $34.oo and I received 3 monthly shipments of coffee in the first 4 weeks of dealing with these people, each of which was charged to my credit card without notice or authorization. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY! They practice unethical business and do not do what they promise.

This company warrants a congressional investigation! Don't feel bad people. I too have been duped by them. I fell for their offer of a free coffee grinder along with two packages of gourmet coffee beans. I received the little grinder and the beans which were less than 1 lb. each. My account was charged a whopping $34.00! I said nothing. Then with two weeks they deducted $48.95 out of my credit card FOR WHAT? I had ordered nothing or received nothing. I called them and demanded they close my account immediately and refund my credit card. They said they would close my account immediately and refund my money but they did not! I now have my bank, Wachovia, one of the biggest banks in America investigating this. I hope they can do what I can do.

Steer clear of these crooks!

the 9.99 deal only cost 34. dollars we stoped the membership then today we recived a debit to our account that put us way over our balance 38.95 dollars as i said we are trying to live below the poverty level to start with then people like this have to come along
called them and they say you droped the club 4 weeks ago then why are you charging me thier responce is we are sorry for the trouble the coffee is not fit to feed to my worm bed the over charge fees at the bank are more than we can take when we did not order this trash they are a total rip
retired people beware if you are on a tight budget BE VERY AWARE OF THIS OUTFIT THOSE TWO ONE POUND ( MORE LIKE 12 OZ }PKGS COST ALMOST 100. DOLLARS BEFORE THEY ARE DONE

This company advertises two 12oz bags at $9.00 with a free coffee grinder. It is not until after submiting the application that they sock you with the $25.00 membership fee. Then what you recieve is not what you ordered. Instead of the grinder I recieved two mugs and two travel mugs. I have plenty of these and definately do not need any more!

Since when did 2 bags of coffee and a grinder/ two mugs cost $ 9.00? There has to be a catch and seattle coffee knows that there are millions of people like you how like free stuff. There fore its easy for them to ### you. Buyer be aware. Do something contact a lawyer if you think its fraud. only in American are people willing to trust anyone on the net.

Seattle Coffee Direct advertises get 2 bags coffee and free Cusine Coffee Grinder for "only" $9.00. When I signed up it changed to a page of 2 free mugs and 2 free travel mugs along with coffee for only $9.00. Then my banking account gets zapped with a $34 charge. I called the company at [protected] and spoke with Kim and she stated to me that there is a $25 shipping and handling fee in addition to the $9.00 and that it states so in the website...no it does not and I told her that I would never had ordered the product with fees like that. So I went to a web page and searched and found a "hidden" link under "help" that tells about the additional fees.

I am going to look to see if there is a Better Business Bureau in their area. Also after the sign up and they take your credit card number, i.e. Visa Debit...I believe this company should give you a total of your charges as a receipt, not just a thank you.

Kim did however tell me that I could mark the package refused and they would refund the money to me once they received the package back...the mugs were not free at this rate and neither is the coffee grinder!

My suggestion to consumers who find themselves in this predictiment to call the fraud department of your bank and report them. Also every state has an Attorney General who handles consumer complaints, don't think that it will not count...you could be the apple that upsets the cart with the other complaints and there for starts the lawsuit!

I didn't order anything, but I did do a free test and I got no grinder and was surprised when 2 more bags showed up the same day. And the next day I went to the bank and found out they charged me 34.00 for the sample and the next day charged me another 38.95. I'm going to court!

I signed up for a low-cost promotional offer for a grinder and some coffee on Feb 24, credit card was immediately billed for $34.00 which included some other charges that were not mentioned in the promo offer. No e-mail or regular mail was sent to me that advised me that I had become a member of a recurring shipment plan, and no information about a membership number or how to contact them. Within 10 days, a second charge was made to my credit card of $38.95 without any explanation. The promo shipment had not yet arrived and already they claim to have sent a second shipment! I called the phone number on the credit card statement and received excuses. I said to cancel and demanded a full refund. So far, nothing received.

I signed up for an "introductory offer" of 2 bags of coffee and a grinder for $9.00. I have received nothing but they have already taken $72.95. I called and after numerous tries, did reach a live person. They claim that my order is in the process of being shipped... a total of 6 bags of coffee... due to some unexplained process that each person receives 3 bags of coffee a week! In order to cancel my 'membership' I have to send my order back - on my dime of course.

After making what was presented to me as a 9$ purchase from this company I was devastated to find out that they had actually charged me in excess of 30$! I fortunately checked my account the very next day and my bank will be disputing these charges. In searching for their website, the only thing I could find was a series of similar complaints. I urge anyone that has been taken in this way to step forward and lets put this company out of the internet business!

The promotion is $9 (coffee/grinder) + $25 (club setup fee) + S/H = $34 (est).
Then you will be immediately shipped a second shipment, costing almost $40. This immediately shipment is covered under their terms & conditions as "Monthly shipments are an estimate. They may be more or less frequent." You are automatically signed up for "monthly" shipments as a part of buying into the "promotion".

I was charged both shipments within 5 days of signing up for the "promotion." Customer service feels no guilt at all. You will only get back from them that it is covered in the terms & conditions.

I cancelled the membership. Was told there is no cancellation fee. If I return the shipments I'll be credited. I plan to do that with the second shipment which won't be here for another week. Even though the cost of shipping will be high it is better than letting them profit for a process to profit as fast as possible. No one is going to view 5 days between shipments as "monthly."

I'd have to agree to stay away from this company. And always read the Terms & Conditions before purchasing on the internet.

Like the other customers listed I have been charged unreasonable amounts for unsolicited product. Seattle Coffee Direct did not even fulfill its promotional promise of two bags and a grinder but have charged me for it anyway. I signed up for the $9.00 promotion of two bags and a grinder and was charged $34.00 on 3-19-07. I never received the complete promotion

I NEED MY MONEY BACK AS SOON AS POSIBLE.

I fell for the 9.00 promise of a coffee grinder and 2 coffee samples, that 9.00 turned into 34.00 with three shipments to follow once a week at 39.95 each. That is over 140.00 worth of coffee in one month. I just got my bill and nearly has a stroke. I don't drink 140.00 in coffee in a year much less a month. There were no invoices when the packages arrived, I had no idea that 2 measly pounds would cost 39.95. I did cancel af ter the second package came as I knew this was an unusual practice and the last thing I needed was more coffee, they stated that the shipment went out the day before I called so I would have to pay for the third shipment. Never in my wildest dreams did I think they would charge me 39.85 for 2 lousy pounds of coffee.

This is a scam of the highest proportion and needs to be brought to the attention of the authorities. They did cancel all future orders when I called, I will wait for next month's credit card bill to make sure they are not still ripping me off. IN the meantime, it is time for the State's Attorney General to be advised of this bait and switch scam. Never again...My God I live one block from Starbucks and I would buy from them before I would buy this much coffee; to add insult to injury the coffee is bad!

The delay in refunding is due to the address in the Refund Policy web page is to the corporate office. They don't handle the product or refunds. The shipment will then be forwarded to the warehouse to then be refunded. I just called customer service to find this out. I also pointed out that the Refund Policy has the wrong address.

Also you must not send the product back as Return to Sender. They and many other similar offers will not process a refund using this method. I was asked if I paid for shipping back, used the USPS, and had to provide the USPS confirmation number. Then I was told of the return address issue. This means a lot of refunds at best will be delayed. They received my return on 3/27/08 and I called on 4/9/08 to get status on refund.

These folks are likely to not refund you money unless you dot the i's and cross the t's.

Again advise no one to do business with this company. There are better companies.

I signed up for the monthly coffee on the first of March. The agreement was the first shipment was $14.95 and a free coffee pot. One shipment per month. It is now April 9th and I have received 4 shipments for $38.95 each and no coffee pot! Went online and now the email addr I have does not bring up the web site!

I was able to cancel by the above phone number, but after I did cancel I received another pkge. I am very disappointed in this company.

Unfortunately, I too must complain about this company. After reading the fine print on my initial order, I realized it did say a $25.oo shipping/handling fee would be charged to the initial order. However, after several months I have received another shipment and was charged $48.95, with no invoice included with the order. I wish I had seen this website before I ordered anything from them and I hope something is being done about their rip-offs.
