I signed up to try Seattle coffee for $9.00. Then I got the bill for $34.00. When I called to complain I was told it was a membership fee. I was quite upset about the hidden fee and about the terrible coffee. I was then told I could send back the unopened coffee for a refund of $12.50. And another package was on it's way for $42.00. If I wanted I could refuse that package as well. I would receive a credit when they received the coffee. Well it's been several months now and still no credit. Meanwhile I'm trying to figure out how to payoff my credit card for crummy coffee I don't even have.

OMG! I thought I was the only one! I got the promo of two crappy white coffee cups, two decent traval mugs, and two things of coffee all for the low price of $5. Yeah right. I got my credit card bill and I was charged $25 and $38.95 for 2 shipments of coffee I had not received. I called them nd they said that they would refund the $38.95 twice, but that the promotion was $5 each piece. I thought, bull, and they said return it and we will refund. Thank God I save all my boxes and I packed it up. Then I saw that there were six pieces and figured out 2+2 +2 does not equal 5 and called them on it. They said they would refund me after I got nasty with them. Let's see!

I too received unwanted packages, and was over charged. I called the company and they said mail back unwanted packages, and my account would be credited. I'm afraid if I do I will be out the money and have no product. Any suggestions?

I too ordered a sampling of coffee plus their promotional 2 coffee mugs. Received them, however they never stopped shipping their coffee without further authorization. I have since recived 2 pkg's
a total of 38.75 each charged to my credit card. A total of $77 + dollars. I asked for a refund on my charges have shipped back, (unopened packages). I asked who was the President of this Scam Company, they refused to tell me. Their are no other listings for this co. I even called Seattle's Best Coffee Co., who say's they are just a distributor for them, they cannot dictate their marketing procedures. I think the United Staes Attorney General should beinvolved in these scams, because they are going across State Lines.
Please direct all your disputes to the United States Attorney General, FBI and any State or local Government you know of. Let's get these Scammers in jail! Gerald D Rennert, GDRDIRECT@AOL.COM Forward any mail address to my email address it would be appreciated.

I also have been duped by this company. My initial order (thru a survey) was for 2 coffee mugs and 2 bags of coffee. I did not realize that I would get two bags of coffee each month and that my credit card would be charged $38.99 each time. I did finally reach them and they said to return the merchandise. The last two bags I refused through the post office. Two bags I returned through UPS. I have not yet received my refund. I tried to reach them today, but got no answer. I will try tomorrow.

So I looked at all of these complaints and, as I am prone to do when reading these sorts of sites, went to the aforementioned company's page. It took three mouse clicks before I came upon their "Terms and Conditions" link for the $9 deal, which outlined clearly all the things that people are complaining about here; the $25.00 initial shipping fee, the inclusion in a coffee-subscription program, etc.

Seriously people, don't hold it against a company if you FAIL TO SIFT THROUGH the site and read the terms of the product you are ordering. Don't immediately think you're getting a fantastic deal and blindly hand someone your credit card number. I'd have thought that after companies like Columbia House popped up, people would realize that a cheap deal usually means a subscription to a longer-term deal.

No, I don't work for this company, I don't even like coffee all that much. I post comments like this all the time, trying to get people to wake up and stop calling "SCAM" when they fail to read the clearly-stated company policies.

The only legit complaints I forsee for this company would be either trying to cancel the subscription and failing, or trying to return merchandise and failing. Other than that, it's YOUR OWN FAULT. Be a smart consumer.

I too was tricked by answering a survey and it had in it 5 dollars for five items free shipping what a joke and i know i wasn't to bright either cause i believed they were reputable. I got the order with the 4 mugs and 2 packages of coffee and looked at the bill it said 25.oo then i called my bank right away to dispute the charges i called Seattle direct only after they tried charging my credit card another 48.oo this time i called company and told them that i did not want to be a member of a place that rips you off and the lady argued with me that it said 5 dollars each now the ad in the survey did not say that at all it said 5.oo and free shipping. I feel sorry for anyone that gets this coffee it does not even sit or taste right. I can buy from Starbucks a lot cheaper and it is much better coffee and they are not into ripping people off I hope no one else gets fooled like i was. I am more angry i didn't check the complaints about it first then this would not have happened I also am disputing the 25.00 that they charged that is so ridiculous cause they are mugs that only cost maybe at most a dollar apiece.

I ordered some coffee and cups online. There was no indication that I was signing up for anything beyond that offer. I was subsequently billed 3 times by this company for items that I had not ordered or received. I called to find out what I was being billed for.
I was told that it was for coffee that I had ordered. I was told that it was for 2 twelve ounce bags of coffee. ($32.40 per pound is awfully expensive coffee especially if you didn't receive it and was billed 3 times for it!) When I was initially billed, I called and was told that I would receive a credit for the amount charged. Instead of a credit I received another charge of $48.65. I called again and was assured that I was to be credited. Instead, I was charged again $48.65 for a grand total of $145.95 for something I have not received nor do I want.

I have found out that Seattle's Best Coffee is associated with Kraft Foods. I think that our complaints should be directed to them as a blight on their reputation. I feel that we might get a better response from them as they have a lot more to lose.

My card was charged twice in the amount of $48.95. I answered a promotional offer saying it would cost $25.00 for 2 bags of coffee, 2 free mugs and 2 free warmers. I recieved that and more coffee kept arriving, unordered. Very dissatisifed. If money is not returned I will be filing a fraud complaint through my bank.

Same thing happened to me. Not once, but three times. I am still waiting on the credit to my bank account. They overcharge and keep on charging even after I have called twice to cancel! Scam artists. I too live on a fixed income and thought this would be a treat (so I thought). Not a chance. I would never give them my business -- EVER!

I got hooked up with this miserable excuse for a company thru a "survey" to earn a free set of Rachel Ray cookware which advertised, of all places... on a site I thought would have screened such a scammer! And that is the FOOD NETWORK SITE. After endless pages and pages of preference questions, demands to sign up for various offers etc - SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT being one of them - I agreed to their introductory offer, thinking the sample shipment would be IT. OH NO, OH CONTRARY! they have been shipping me coffee faster than a coffeeholic (which I am not) could ever manage to use it - COMPLETELY UNAUTHORIZED. Who knew! How I wish I had found and read the complaints on this site first! And I learned of this site by googling SCD since their website, eerily... does NOT have ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE CONTACT INFO! That should tell you a lot. DON'T EVER ORDER FROM THEM - I AM CONTACTING MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY TO CANCEL CHARGES and see where it goes from there.

Yes these people are total crooks. I called to cancel before my 14 day trial was over because there coffee taste like crap, and the lady tells me that a second package was already sent out and they charged my card. I was furious and I told her that is illegal because it was 5 days before my trial was over and they already sent another $25 package out. SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT IS A FRAUD!

I ordered one of their specials which came promptly. I then immediately received a package with two pounds of coffee in it, WHICH i DID NOT order and was charged on my card $43.95. I can buy their coffee at the grocery store for $7.99 a pound and yet i get two pounds for 43.95 for the "luxury of having it delivered! I can not believe what a rip off this is. I did call which at my expense am sending it back and supposedly my account will be credited.

I will never buy their coffee again which I did like.

OK, me too. I got sucked in thru some dumb survey. Got the coffee, 2 tgravel mugs, 2 white coffee cups. Was supposed to be only 19.95. My account was charged $25.oo. OK. BUT THEN, out of nowhere I've received another 3 packages of more coffee at a whopping $48.95 each being sent almost WEEKLY! Who do these people think they are, StarBucks? NOT! Geez! I just found this website while I was looking for them on the web... I am shocked! I'm calling first thing in the morning... Add it up people, $25.00 for the "sample" shipment and $48.95 for 3 UNAUTHORIZED shipments since then... I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Even if I have to ship them the "gifts"... right.

I called and canceled my subscription and explained that I did not want anymore coffee due to the excessive charges. I received my credit card bill this month and I was charged again! So now, instead of having coffee that was too expensive, I was charged and did not receive any coffee.

Total rip-off company. I too signed up for $9.00 starter shipment, was charged $ 25.00 on 4/18, $ 38.95 on 4/24, $ 38.95 on 5/7, $ 38.95 on 5/16, $ 38.95 on 6/2, and 38.95 on 6/11. On 6/4 I rec'd 2nd shipment for 2 - 12 oz. bags for $36.95. I've been trying to call for the pass month and the line are always busy. Is there anything that I can do to be refunded for something I didn't order.

This company is a complete rip off. I too wish I had read the fine print, but figured when I said I only wanted the first shipment and then one in June but got three in between and charged 48.95 for each shipment. I could have bought several cans of coffee (good coffee) for that price. Completely and totally dissatisfied with the company. When I called to cancel I did get a person right away and he did state that it would be cancelled and no more orders will be shipped or charged to my credit card. We will have to see what happens

BEWARE! Did not receive any e-mail notification of a delivery. Was under impression, coffee was a monthly delivery, and could be changed. Could not find original website offer was made on. Went to website of CoffeeRoastersDirect.com and could not register. They gave a password. Could not change anything but coffee flavors. Never received any kind of invoice showing the automated amount, not even with package. Did call today, 21st of June to cancel any further orders.

I signed up at this website through one of those scammy "click-on-a-bunch-of-offers-and-we'll-send-you-something-great" websites (first mistake). I got my initial offer (with the $25 shipping), and since then, I have received two bags of coffee EVERY WEEK, being charged $48 each time.

I don't even drink coffee; I thought this would be an easy way to fulfill the requirements. Now I have been charged over $200 for coffee I don't drink.

NOT a happy camper.

SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT'S ADVERTISEMENT IS DECEIVING. WHEN I PLACED MY ORDER, I ONLY WANTED COFFEE AND THE BEAN MACHINE THAT WAS ADVERTISED. WHEN I CALLED SEATTLE COFFEE THE NEXT DAY, I SPOKE TO BRYAN, THEIR REP. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT THE STATEMENT OF THE BILLING DID NOT APPEAR SO I WOULD KNOW WHAT TO ORDER AND HOW MUCH. HE STATED THAT THE ORDER OF 2 MUGS, 2 TUMBLERS AND 2 BAGS OF COFFEE COSTS $25.05 AND WAS ALREADY SENT. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED HIM IF THE BEAN MACHINE WAS INCLUDED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS. HE STATED THAT IF I DIDN'T WANT THE ORDER TO RETURN IT FOR A REFUND. WHEN THE ORDER ARRIVED, THERE WAS NO BEAN MACHINE. I CALLED SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT AGAIN AND WAS TOLD BY A LADY REPRESENTATIVE THAT THE ORDER DID NOT INCLUDE THE BEAN MACHINE. SINCE I ORDERED COFFEE BEANS IN HOPES OF CRUSHING THE BEANS WITH THE MACHINE, THE ORDER WAS USELESS AND I DIDN'T WANT IT. SHE SAID TO SEND IT BACK AND WRITE REFUSED ON THE BOX AND RETURN TO SENDER, WHICH I DID ON 6/30/08. I'LL SEE IF SEATTLE COFFEE CREDITS MY CREDIT CARD. IF NOT, I'LL CANCEL THE ORDER MYSELF ON THE CREDIT CARD. IT'S A HELL OF A WAY TO DO BUSINESS. I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT SO I SUSPECT THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPANY.

I originally applied for an introductory offer of 2 packages of coffee, and 2 mugs for a minimal price. This offer arrived in a timely manner. Then, without any further direction from me, a coffee grinder and continued shipments of coffee arrived, for a cost of $25.25, and $48.95. I have not received any further communication from Seattle Coffee except for pre-printed notes to say thank you for placing your order with Seattle Coffee and a number to call from Monday through Friday Eastern time, 10.am to 6 pm. I am appalled at these unwanted shipments and will send back any further unauthorized coffee that come in the mail without payment.

Sincerely,
Kay Blackwell.

This company actually got my daughters Debit card number and they claim that she made the order although it came from an e-mail address that is not associated with anyone in my family. So this goes beyond just overcharging for something that they claim will cost 9$ which my daughter never even participated in. This is a criminal act of using someones debit card that they must have tracked down through some illegal means. It is time to shut these Theifs down.

Why has there been no action against this company, already!?! I'm reading complaints and reports to B.B.B., States Attorney General, etc... yet I just got scammed by these creeps, months later. Well, my mistake, I guess, for not checking it out, first. They need to look at Gevalia's practices. Same idea, good ethics, kept promises, great coffee and no scamming and potential consequenses. It can't be that hard, if the other guys are doing it so well, right? Get a clue, or go to jail where you belong, people!

I RESPONDED TO ONE OF THOSE RIDICULOUS ONLINE SURVEYS TO RECEIVE A SET OF RACHEL RAE COOKWARE. I HAVE NOT SEEN NOR HEARD A WORD ABOUT THE COOKWARE EVEN THOUGH I FULFILLED THE SURVEY OBLIGATIONS. SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT HAS DEBITED 3 SEPERATE TRANSACTIONS FROM MY CHECKING ACCOUNT WITHIN 10 DAYS. THE FIRST DEBIT WAS FOR $25.00, SECOND DEBIT WAS $48.95 AND THE THIRD DEBIT SO FAR WAS $48.95. TOTALING $122.90. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE COFFEE BEAN FROM THESE PEOPLE! I HAVE NOTIFIED MY BANK. EVERYONE SHOULD BE AWARE OF SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT! I DON'T BELIEVE THEY ARE EVEN LOCATED IN SEATTLE. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION AS TO HOW TO GET IN CONTACT WITH THESE IDIOTS?

I got into this program thru an laptop offer. I thought I was getting 5 coffees for $5. That meant $25 for a shipment. I never really saw $5 coffee. It did turn out to be a weekly shipment of two coffees for about %50. I think that is too much for coffee, too much coffee and I didn;t care for the coffee. I called them to cancel and asked if I could return unopened packages. We'll see if teh rfunds go thru (minus the shipping of course)

I purchased Seattle Direct by participating doing an online promotional survey. I was suckered into their program and purchased their plan which included 2 mugs and 2 travel mugs. A total of $48.95 was deducted from my debit card on 6/23/08. Another shipment was sent out only 2 weeks later and another $48.95 was deducted from my account. I called customer service and cancelled my order. They in turn told me if I returned both packages of coffee, they would reimburse the amount. To date I have not received any refund and my packages were sent 2 weeks ago. They are a scam and should be put out of business. This would be a wonderful company to be televised on something like Dateline or 20/20.

Yes, these people are crooks. They way overcharged and sent me several packages. I refused them all. I wasn't paying $49.85 for Coffee. no way. So, I tried taking care of this through my bank but they couldn't help because they had my personal information. I found this out 3 months later after their investigation. I got the correct phone number from my bank that they had used and called them. I got and instant refund. This must happen all the time because they didn't ask any questions.
So, the trick is to refuse the product as soon as you find out about the absurd charges and call them for a refund. I hope this helps some one because I have been going through hell because of this.
